Cheri was out the door at
7:45 am for her pre-op appointment. I did a few things around the house before
heading over to Kacey’s to work. Also made a trip to Lowes for materials to finish
the bathroom. I did get the bathroom vanity installed, caulking done, base board
installed, and the door casing installed. I also got the drawer in the dresser
repaired. It was 3:30 pm when I got home. Cheri had been busy with the laundry
and other Friday housework, also had a nice visit with Jean our next door
neighbor. After my shower I headed to the recliner to rest for a while. Cheri
fixed us chip beef gravy over scrambled eggs on toast for supper. Just getting
settled in for the evening when Cheri said there is a problem with the toilet.
Turned out to be a broken flapper in the tank. I checked my supplies and found
I had a spare in the shop. So it was repaired in short order. We watched a movie,
Cold Case files, and Cold Justus before calling it a night. Thank you God for
taking care of us today.

It was a much better day
today. Cheri make a big breakfast this morning of eggs, ham, hash browns, English
muffin, and juice. We enjoyed some time together with our coffee. Cheri was busy
with laundry, ironing, and normal Thursday housework. I headed out this morning
to install the battery tender on Donna car. I wrapped a ribbon around the
steering wheel so she will remember to remove the battery tender before
starting the car. Then I went over to Kacey’s to work on the vanity. I got the
top on, water, and drain connected. I still have to do caulking around it and
seal the drain and water lines where they come into the vanity. I also sprayed
outside for the hornets’ nest. I was done work by 2:30 pm as I had to get
cleaned up and be ready to pick up Dennis and Sue at 3:45 pm to go out for
dinner at Harry’s to do an early birthday celebration for Cheri. We had a
coupon that we needed to use before Aug first. When we got home we settled in
to watch Alone and Two Steps Home before calling it a night. We had rain on and
off most of the day. Thank you God for keeping us healthy and safe.

Today was a day that God
was teaching me patience’s, something I don’t do well. Cheri asked me to lower
the curtains in the bedroom. I wasn’t able to get the existing hooks off the
wall (to many coats of paint on them). She also wanted the new picture and
decorations hung above the bed. After going through all the picture hangers I had
I still didn’t have the right ones. So to do these two projects met a trip to
Lowes. I decided to go over to Kacey’s to get my tools for the work in the
bedroom. So I stopped to pick up Kacey’s mail and the key wouldn’t open the
mail box. So I went on over to Donna’s to install the new battery tender on her
car. Well I forgot to bring the wrenches I needed. So I went back to Kacey’s as
she had more mail keys but all looked to be keyed the same. I once again
stopped by the mail box and tried them with no luck. About that time the
mailman came and told him what my problem was. He said are you sure that you
have the right mailbox, well this is the one Kacey told me was hers. The
mailman tried to unlock it and after several tries he got it open. Then we
couldn’t get it locked again. Long story short the mailman is going to have a
new lock installed and put the key in our mailbox. After all of this it was
time to get ready for noon church service. A retired pastor (Mike Stanley) at attends
our church delivered the message today. Pastor Randy is gone on vacation. After
church we stopped at Lowes to get the materials we need for the bedroom
project. Also stopped at Larry and Denise’s to check the house and the
humidity, it was down to 46%. Then took the car through the car wash. After a
late lunch Cheri and I got the curtains lowered and the picture and decoration
up on the wall. It was too late to do any more work away from home. But I did
rewire two lamps that I brought home from Kacey’s to work on. We had leftover
shrimp scampi for supper and later while watch TV we had an ice cream bar. We
called Nikki and she said that she had the same kind of day we had. Thank you
God for helping us through this day and teaching me patience’s.

It was a busy day for the
Sharps. I headed out at 6:30 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible
Study. We are still studying Acts, today’s study was Acts 21:17-36. It was near
9:00 am when I got home. Cheri was already busy with her Tuesday housework.
After I got cleaned up we headed out to Wal-Mart for groceries and a few other
things we needed. After we got home Cheri went back to housework and I headed
over to Kacey’s to work. I got a another coat of plaster on, removed a bed room
door getting it ready to be trimmed down, Removed the door casing and door jamb
from another door as it needs to be replace to make the door close. Also
repaired a drawer in the master bath vanity. It was near 1:00 pm when I got
home for lunch. I was done for the day. After a shower and getting cleaned up I
headed for the recliner to do some reading. At 3:00 pm Cheri and I got the
hotdogs in the crockpot to be ready for me to take them at 5:00 pm for our Men’s
Night Out. We had hotdogs and chili. After dinner Charlie did a lesson 1 Peter about
how God gave us a gift to help other people. There were 14 of us. It was a good
night and was home by 8:30 pm. We were both tired and decided to go to bed and
watch TV there. Thank you God for a blessed day spending time with other Christian
men.

We took our time getting
around this morning. I did leave at 9:30 am to work at Kacey’s. I sprayed
around inside the house and then worked on the bathroom vanity. The guys that
put it in couldn’t get the vanity drawers open because they hit the door
casing. So their fix was to cut the door casing off so the drawers would open.
I got the vanity taken apart and a filler strip made and installed. I am also
installing different faucets plus some pastor work. I quit at 3:30 pm as I ran
out of energy. Cheri made a trip to Hobby Lobby to get something to hang on the
new bedroom feature wall. I didn’t have the energy to install it this evening.
Cheri fixed us shrimp scampi for supper. We watched a home improvement show,
20/20, and two episodes of 48 Hours. Thank you God for a blessed day.

First I have to make clarification
on the chocolate chip cookies Cheri made. I always say she made a batch and was
told she always makes a double batch of chocolate cookies. Today was a long day
with painting in the bedroom. We had the first coat on by 11:30 am and has to
dry for two hours before painting the second coat. So while it was drying we
had lunch and then Cheri went to the pharmacy for meds. I went over to Donna
Perkins, the guy that is taking care of car while she gone couldn’t get the
door unlocked in order to start the car. Donna called me to check it out. It turned
out to be a dead battery and had to remove the key from the fob and then remove
a section of the door handle to unlock the door. I went and got my charger and
put it on a slow charge. By the time we both got home it was time to paint
again. When the painting was done Cheri cleaned up the painting supplies. I
went over to Kacey’s as she left this morning. So I turned off the water, hung damp
rids, discounted the car battery, and got the dehumidifier hooked up. When I
got home it was time to remove all the tape from the painting project and
getting the bed back together. We flipped the mattress before putting them back
on the bed. By the time we got everything back where it should be it was near
6:00 pm. While I was in the shower Cheri was busy fixing us supper. Needless to
say our evening of TV was short as we were both exhausted from our day. Thank
you God for helping us through this day with our projects.

While I worked of painting the crown molding in the bedroom Cheri made a batch of chocolate chip cookies. The first coat of paint was done at 11:30 am. After lunch we read until 1:30 pm when it was time to paint the second coat of paint. Cheri painted the cabinet door with the roller because she doesn’t like to see the paint brush marks. It was 3:00 pm when we were done painting and had the bedroom put back together. At 4:30 pm I went over to Kacey’s to pick up the keys to her house as she leaves for Michigan tomorrow morning and gave me a long list of work that I will be doing while she is gone. Cheri fixed us leftover for supper. We watch two episodes of Alone and an episode of Cold Justice before calling it a night. Thank you God for a productive day and keeping us healthy and safe.

I left the house at 6:30
am, heading to the Tampa VA for a MRI. It was around 9:30 am when I got home. I
hadn’t had any breakfast so was hungry and needed some coffee while Cheri and I
visited. Cheri was busy with laundry and
normal Thursday housework. I let at 10:30 am to work over at Kacey’s. Just did
a lot of misalliance things getting her ready to leave on Saturday for Michigan
for a few weeks. I will be doing some major projects while she is gone. I was
home by 3:00 pm. I showered and got cleaned up as we were picking up Dennis and
Sue at 3:45 pm to go out for dinner at Ling’s Chinese in Lakeland. It is the
best place for Chinese. It has been a couple of years since we have been there
because of the virus. When we got home we settled in for an evening of TV. We
watched a movie and then found the new season of Alone and watch the first episode
of it. After that we headed to bed and watched Cold Case Files. Thank you God
for a bless day and time spent with friends.
Gay July-21-21

Just an update on me and
Cheri. Cheri continues doing here knee exercises and still has pain around the
knee cap. I still have my shoulder problems but is getting better. I still have
pain in my back and scheduled to have PT stating in a couple weeks. No work
away from home today. Just doesn’t work well when going to a noon church
service. Pastor Randy’s message was from Palms 23. After church we stopped at
Lowes so Cheri could get paint for a feature wall in the bedroom. Also stopped at Jersey Mike’s for subs to
have for a late lunch. I did manage to do some caulking and taping getting
ready to paint the crown molding in the bedroom. We spent the rest of the
afternoon reading and napping for me. No supper this evening because of the
late lunch. But did have a bag of popcorn for me and then Cheri got us a piece
of apple pie. We watched a couple of movies before calling it a night. Thank
you God for spending time with you today.
Gay July-20-21

I was out the door at 6:20
am heading for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. I stopped at Wawa
for a breakfast sandwich as I haven’t been happy with BK. The Wawa wasn’t all
that great, probably would have been better if I had eaten right away but
waited for the rest of the guys so we could eat together. We studied the first
part of Acts chapter 21. It was near 9:00 am when I got home. I had an hour
before I had to be at Kacey’s for work. Cheri was busy with housework and
getting things ready for me to paint the crown molding in the bedroom. She made
an apple pie and a ham and noodle casserole for supper. My work today was
installing a new door and dead bolt lock, repair the storm door, hang a new
kitchen light, and work on the living room ceiling fan. We had some rain
showers early this evening and didn’t think there would be any security this
evening but it cleared up so Dennis and I could do the security. When I got
home Cheri and I read until it was time to call it a night. We did watch a Cold
Case File after we got in bed.
Gay July-19-21

Cheri continued painting
the trim in the bedroom. I worked for Kacey again today. Worked on installing a
new head and foot board to her bed, installed a new mirror, added floor pads to
the buffet, and repaired the counter top of the bathroom vanity. Later this
afternoon I took her over to Lowes to do some shopping for things needed for additional
projects she wants me to do. It was 3:00 pm when I got done for the day. Cheri
had just finished painting for the day. After my shower Cheri and I relaxed
reading until it was time for supper. Cheri fixed us ham and hash browns along
with a chocolate chip cookie. Later while watching TV we had an ice cream drum
stick. We watched a movie, Dateline, and Cold Case Files. Thank you God for
blessing us with a good day.
Gay July-18-21

Things were a little
different at church this morning. They have been removing carpet and old floor
tile from the upstairs classrooms that has asbestos in the tiles. They have a
company that is removing the asbestos tiles and now have a strong odor from the
chemicals used to remove the tiles. The odor has gotten in the first level of
the church. So church was a drive in out on the hill. Pastor Randy’s message
was titled “A New Perspective on Home and Work” from Colossians 3:18-4:1. Our
Sunday school lesson was titled “Dependence Declared” from Job 42:1-11. God
honors those who humbly profess dependence on Him. The rest of our Sunday was
the same as other Sundays. Picked up the pizza on the way home. Did some
reading this afternoon along with a movie and the NASCAR race to watch. Thank
you God for a blessed day with you and church friends.
Gay July-17-21

Not much going on today. No
work away from home today so took our time getting around this morning. Cheri
worked in the bedroom today cleaning and getting things ready to paint the
trim. I worked on a lamp for a couple from church. I had to install a new
switch socket and will take it with us to church tomorrow. I also replaced the
door locksets that I removed so Cheri could paint the doors. Later I went to
pick up Cheri and my meds from the pharmacy. I did some computer work when I
got home. I was going to do some work outside but it was already 90 degrees at
11:00 am and decided to stay inside. Cheri and I spent the rest of the day
reading, napping, and watching movies. Cheri fixed the leftover enchiladas for
supper. This evening we watched Dateline, a movie, and several Cold Case Files.
Thank you God for a relaxing day.
Gay July-16-21

It was a good day no light
headedness today. I guess I am back to normal, not sure what is normal anymore.
Cheri was busy with laundry, painting, and other housework. I was back at work
again today for Kacey. I got the ceiling fan up, installed the new security
light, changed the ballast in the kitchen light, hung a sign outside, and reset
a downspout draining slab. I was done by 3:00 pm which was nice getting done
early. When I got home Cheri was busy making enchiladas for supper. After my
shower Cheri and I relaxed reading before supper. After supper we settled in
watching a movie and Cold Case Files. Thank you God for blessed day.
Gay July-15-21

It was another bad morning
with light headedness. It did get better throughout the day. I had a job for a
lady (Casey Barker) here in our park at 10:00 am. Well this morning I didn’t
think I would be able to do anything. But felt a little better and did go. I
managed to do a lot of little things that she needed done. I worked until 4:00
pm. Cheri had a knee doctor appointment this morning. She got a good report but
still has some pain around the knee. The doctor thinks it is nerve ending and
gave her a script for something that will help with it. She did laundry and
masking around a couple doors she wants to paint. After I got done with work I
still went to Lowes to pick up a few things that I will need tomorrow. Cheri
fixed us more of Pam’s chicken and noodles for supper along with some bread
that Cheri brought home from our meal last night. This evening we settled in
watching home improvement shows, a movie, and Cold Case Files. Thank you God
for helping us through this day keeping us healthy and safe.
Gay July-14-21

I was light headed when I
got out of bed this morning, trouble getting to my recliner without falling.
Not sure what is going on but felt better midmorning. Cheri was busy with her
Wednesday housework. We left at 11:30 am for the noon church service. Pastor
Randy’s lesson was on Psalms 22 which was written by King David a thousand years
before Jesus but is all about Jesus dying on the cross and end times. (God’s
word written by King David) When we got home we had some of Pam Gregory’s
chicken and noodles that she made for us, very good and will have more tomorrow.
Didn’t do any work this afternoon, just sat in the recliner reading and
napping. Dennis and Sue picked us up at 3:45 pm to go to Lakeland to have
dinner at Outback Steakhouse. The meal was pretty good, best part was the
blooming onion. We were back home early and settled in for an evening of TV
watching home improvement shows and Cold Case Files. Thank you God for good
friends and keeping safe and healthy.
Gay July-13-21

I am still not able to do
my morning walking. But the back and shoulder are getting better. I was out the
door at 6:30 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and
Bible study. There were only five of us this morning. We studied the last of
Acts chapter 20. It was after 9:00 am when I got home. Cheri was busy with her
Tuesday housework. I did a couple of honey do jobs for her and then went
outside and worked on our generator. I got a plug hooked to the battery so I can
put the float charger on it. After lunch I went over to check the humidity level
in Larry and Denice’s house and found it down to 53%, which is good. The parts
for the ice maker came this afternoon so got that put together and back in the refrigerator.
Still have to repair the crisper drawer as one of the rollers broke from the ice
buildup. Cheri fixed waffles and sausage for supper. I went out and did
security with Dennis this evening. When I got back we watched a couple episodes
of Dateline before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you
and helping us through this day.
Gay July-12-21

We were slow getting
around this morning. It was one of those days when I didn’t feel like doing
anything. Cheri spent a lot of her day in the sewing room. She also got the crockpot
out and started baby back ribs to have for supper. I continued working on
thawing out the refrigerator finally got all the ice out and the ice maker
removed. Still waiting for the part to help keep it from freezing up. I also
have some other ideas that might help. I got a call from a lady here in our
park that has some honey do jobs that need to be done. I fixed a leaking sink
drain and installed some spray foam around an opining under the sink. She was
showing me some of the work she had done by other people in the park. She had
some walls joints plastered and after painting you can see every joint that was
plastered. She had couple other guys that also do work in the park install a
new bathroom vanity. After it was installed they couldn’t open the drawers
because they would hit the door casing. Their fix was to cut the door casing so
the drawers would open. So I will be doing some repairs that other people screwed
up. I really felt sorry for her as she was crying while showing me what had
been done. Cheri fixed us the baby back ribs with a baked potato for supper.
After supper we settled in to watch Dateline, 48 Hours and a Hallmark movie
before calling it a night. Thank you God for helping us through this day.
Gay July-11-21

Our Sundays are pretty
much the same. We left for church at 9:00 am. Pastor Randy’s message was titled
“The Full Life” from Colossians 3:15-17. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Power
Displayed” from Job 40:1-14. God’s wisdom and power are unfathomable. Before
leaving the parking lot we ordered our Domino’s pizza, picking it up on our way
home. We settled in with the pizza watching the rest of the Saturday night
racing I had recorded. Then we watched a movie. After the movie it was time for
me to watch the NASCAR race while Cheri did her Sudoku puzzles as she doesn’t
have any books to read. For supper we had a sub sandwich that we got with the
pizza. We watched another movie, Dateline, and 48 Hours. Thank you God for time
spent with you and our church friends.
Gay July-10-21

When I got up this morning
the only plan I had was to take Cheri out for breakfast. We decided to go to
Dade City for breakfast at the Black eyed Pea. We had coffee and split a
breakfast skillet. Then it was back home for a bathroom stop before heading out
to stop at Larry and Denise’s house to check the humidity in their house as it
was on the high side so they are running the air conditioner to bring it down
and found it down to 55%. Then we made a stop at Lowes as Cheri wanted some
more molding and trim paint. She also bought a sample of a dark blue that she
wants to paint the wall at the head of our bed. I also got new water filters as
I thought it has been a year since I last changed them. Our last stop was
Wal-Mart for groceries and other things we needed. It was noon by the time we
got done with all of that. No lunch today because of the big breakfast. This afternoon
Cheri was dusting and dreaming about other changes she wants to do in the house.
I worked on installing the additional hinge we got at Lowes for the cabinet. Installed
the new water filters and had been over two years since I last changed them. After
that I worked on the refrigerator ice maker as having problems with it again.
It had leaked water down into the bottom of the refrigerator and froze and
couldn’t get the crisper drawer open. I used the small blower to thaw it out. I
also found a way to force the icemaker into a thaw cycle. I ordered and
additional part for the ice maker that should help it from freezing up. I quit
at 4:30 pm and more to do on it. At 4:45 pm I got a call from a party over in
Tampa Bay country that said there toilet was running and can’t get it to stop.
I tried to tell her to shut off the water but wasn’t able to get it turned off.
Long story short I headed out to do the repair. On the way I stopped at Lowes
to get new parts. I put all new parts in and fixed the problem. The fill valve
was causing the problem. She wasn’t strong enough to shut the water all the way
off. I was back home by 6:30 pm. Cheri fixed us a ribeye steak with the
leftover potato salad for supper and a little later a bowl of watermelon. Our
evening was watching a home improvement how and a John Wayne movie. Thank you
God for a blessed day.
Gay July-9-21

I didn’t have any plans on
work away from home today so was slow getting around. Cheri fixed us scrambled
eggs, bacon, juice, and English muffin for breakfast. I still have a problem
with my back and shoulder and not able to do the morning walk. I was supposed
to have therapy on my back but haven’t heard anything back from the VA. After
my Bible study I worked on the computer as I had a lot of paper work that
needed to be done. Cheri was busy with laundry and continued getting things rearranged
for the dining room and living room. By 1:00 pm we were both done for the day.
We spent the afternoon reading and napping. We had the leftover spaghetti for
supper. This evening Cheri watched a Hallmark movie while I read. After the
movie we watched a home improvement show and Cold Case Files. Thank you God for
a blessed day.
Gay July-8-21

Cheri was busy with
laundry, house cleaning, and doing her exercises. I had a 10:00 am appointment
over in Tampa Bay country to repair a leaking kitchen sink drain. It took me
longer to drive over and back than the time fixing the drain. While I was there
I stopped for visit with Frank who helps me out when I need some additional help.
I was back home at noon. After lunch Cheri made a batch of chocolate chip
cookies. I hung some pictures and put new hinges on a cabinet door and only had
bought a set of two and this cabinet had three hinges. So I will have to make a
trip to Lowes. I tried to get a rebate done on line for some paint we bought at
Lowes. I tried five different times and could get to where I needed to be. I
was frustrated and finally gave up. It was 3:15 pm and decided I had enough for
the day. Cheri and I both relaxed reading until supper time. Cheri fixed us hotdogs
and potato salad for supper. This evening we watched a couple of episodes of a
home improvement shows, two Cold Case Files, and tried to watch a movie that we
gave up on part way through as it was too hard to understand. Thank you God for
a bless day keeping us healthy and safe.
Gay July-7-21

It is 6:15 am right now.
Wanted to let you know we are ok as Elsa has left the area. I woke up at 12:48
am to a very strong wind and by 12:53 am it started quite down. Good news we
didn’t lose our electricity. The rest of the night was some wind and rain. By
5:30 am the wind and rain was over. As soon as we get some more daylight I will
be going out to see if we have any damage. I will be adding to this blog throughout
the day.
Update 7:15 am. I was out and check the house and didn’t see any damage. Had 3 inches of rain in the gauge. A lot of power outage along the coast.
I headed out early to see
if there was any storm damage. I check four other houses and didn’t find any
damage. I don’t think the wind was as bad as they had predicted. Cheri was busy
doing touch up painting and cleaning the living and dining room. I got the rest
of the door locks installed, some additional caulking, and hanging the blinds. At
11:30 we headed to Dade City for the Wednesday noon service. Pastor Randy’s
message was from Psalms 19. On the way home we stopped at Jersey Mike’s for a
sub sandwich to have for a late lunch. I also did some work outside and got our
generator started. I am going to work on getting the float charger installed on
the generator. Because of the late lunch we only had an English muffin with
peanut butter for our supper. We watched a movie and a couple of Cold Case
Files before calling it a night. Thank you God for time spent with you and
getting us through the storm without any damage.
Gay July-6-21

I left the house at 6:30 am
heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study with
a stop at BK for a breakfast biscuit. There were six of us this morning. Out
study this morning was the first part of Acts chapter 20. I was back home by
9:00 am. I told Cheri I was going to get the generator out and to make sure it
was ready. After getting it out I wouldn’t start as the battery was dead. That’s
what I get for waiting to the last minute. The battery is buried deep inside
the generator. I wasn’t able to get the charger clips attached to do a charge.
I did manage to attach some wires to the terminals and able to get the charger
on. I used my small 1 amp charger so not to overheat the battery. By 4:00 pm it
still wasn’t charge enough to start the generator. Hopefully overnight it will
be charged if I need to use it. Cheri was busy painting the woodwork. I went to
work on the door stop molding and installing lock sets. I got a call from Mike
and Pam who are down on Marco Island with their family for a week. Mike asked
me to go over to their place and put away all the things that are sitting
around in the flowers and patio furniture. By the time I got home Cheri was
done with the painting. I think all that is left is some touch up painting.
Cheri fixed us spaghetti and garlic toast for supper. We watched a movie, Cold
Case Files, and 48 Hours before calling it a night. Thank you God for getting
us through this day and keep us safe through hurricane Elsa.
Gay July-5-21

It was back to work on our
painting project. We had a good day and got the wall painting done except for
some touch up. Cheri will be busy tomorrow finishing the woodwork. This morning
I got the second coat of paint on the crown molding. While waiting for it to
dry I was out and cleaned the rain gutters to be sure they are clean if Elsa
comes through here with a lot of rain. I made a trip to Lowes to get a pair of
cabinet door hinges, returned a lock set that was the wrong color, and pick up
my meds. I also reinstalled a window screen for our neighbor that blew off a
couple days ago. While I was gone Cheri was painting woodwork. When I got home
Cheri and I got the first coat of wall paint on. It was lunch time when we got
done. Later we were able to put on the second coat of wall paint. It was after
5:00 pm when we got done. I headed to shower to get cleaned up while Cheri made
supper. It was 7:00 pm before we got done with supper. It was a short evening
of watching TV as we both fell asleep. We finally headed to bed. Thank you God
for getting us through another day.

Happy July 4th,
Pray for our country to healthy and safe again. We headed out for church at
9:00 am. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “On with the New!” from Colossians
3:9-11. Our Sunday school lesson was titled “Justice Sought” from Job 36:8-23.
God is just in His treatment of all people. We hung around for a while after
Sunday school visiting with others. On the way back to Zephyrhills we stopped
at the pharmacy to drop of a scrip for me. Then ordered our pizza and didn’t
have to wait long before it was ready. We watched the rest of the Saturday
night race that I couldn’t stay wake for last night. After the race we settled
in reading and napping for a while before it was time for me to watch the
NASCAR race. It was a good race at Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Later
we had our sandwich we ordered with the pizza for supper. Then watched a movie
and two episodes of Dateline. Thank you God for time spent with you and church
friends.

Right after breakfast we
went to work on the painting project. We got another section painted with two
coats. Cheri got the trim painted on the section we worked on before. It was a
good day and got a lot done. I think we may be able to finish in another three
days. It was 4:00 pm when we finally quit for the day. We had planned on going
down town late this afternoon for the car show, vendors, and music but had rain
on and off all day. I check the gauge and we received 1 ½ inches. Cheri fixed
us an egg, sausage, and cheese on an English muffin along with orange juice for
supper. We watched two episodes 20-20 this evening. I also tried to watch some
racing but couldn’t stay awake for the whole race, will watch the rest
tomorrow. Thank you God for helping us through this day and keeping us healthy
and safe.

After breakfast it was
back to the painting project. Cheri started the day with laundry before
painting. She continues painting the doors and trim. I started preparing another
wall and got the first coat of paint on the crown molding. I also got door
hinges replaced and new lock sets installed. I had to remove the door stop
molding as with the paint on it the doors wouldn’t close. I still have to
reinstall the molding and then Cheri will have to do some touch up painting. We
were done by 3:00 pm as we had to get cleaned up to pick up Dennis and Sue to
go out for dinner at Applebee’s. We were surprised because it wasn’t very busy
as it is always busy when we go. On the way home we got phone call from
Gayloria Rude. She is the lady I have done all the work for and put their house
up for sale so they could move back to Wisconsin. Well they were on their way
back to Wisconsin when her husband Ted had a heart attack and passed away
yesterday. It made for a sad ending to the day. We did have some rain last
night but only a ¼ inch. Thank you God for helping us through this day and time
spent with friends.

Wow! Another month is
gone. Today was date day with Dick and Linda. We went over to Dick and Linda’s
at 10:00 am. We headed out for the pier in St Pete with Dick doing the driving.
It is so nice to sit back and enjoy the scenery without driving. This is the
first time we have been to the new pier. I must say we were disappointed as it
was very modern and plain. The old pier had more to offer as it had a couple of
restaurants and several shops. The new one had a bar restaurant at the top and
a small souvenir shop at the bottom. We left there at noon looking for a place
for lunch, not finding anything, we ended up at a Chick-Fil-A. A place we have
only been two a couple of times. We couldn’t believe how busy it was. We had a
very good lunch. From there we headed over to the famous Mazzaro’s Italian Meat
Market. It is a place Cheri and I have been to before but Dick and Linda hadn’t
been there so they really enjoyed it. From there we headed back to Dick and
Linda’s. It was a great day spending time with Dick and Linda. We stopped at
Harbor Freight on the way home to get some shop lights as we need more light
for painting. It was after 4:00 PM when we got home. It was a fun day to spend
with friends. We were still full from our lunch so only had an English muffin
with peanut butter. We watched a couple of movies from the collection I bought.
We had rain on the way home from St. Pete and rained well into the evening. I
checked the rain gauge and received 1 ½ inches.

It was another busy day
for Cheri and me. Cheri had a haircut appointment this morning. I went right to
work on painting and got another section done. I removed the tape and then
taped another section. When Cheri got home she worked on the laundry. We left
the house at 11:30 am heading to church for the Wednesday noon service. Pastor
Randy’s message on the 18th Psalms. He explained how it was also
about Jesus’s life, very interesting how he put it together. After a late lunch
Cheri painted the second coat on the sewing room doors. I did some additional taping
and then made a trip to Lowes for more paint and masking tape. I also bought
new smoke detectors. When I got home Cheri was just finishing the painting. We
were done by 4:00 pm and very tired. We rested a while before heating up the
rest of the lasagna with garlic toast for supper. Later we had a bowl of ice
cream while watching a couple of movies. Thank you God for time spent with you
and keeping us healthy and safe.
