After Cheri got her Wednesday house work done she disappeared in her sewing room to spend the day working on the Taggie blanked for Wyatt. I worked outside on the rocking motorcycle. I got several more pieces cut out and still have a long way to go. Cheri fixed bake potatoes for supper and I grilled a couple sirloin steaks. They were very good and much better than the steaks we had at the restaurant last week and for a lot less money. This evening we were up to Mike and Pam’s for Bible study. We are using Dr. Larry Ollison’s book “Unlocking the Mysteries of the Holy Spirit”. We are now studying the Nine Gifts of the Spirit. After the Bible study we played a game of Phase Ten which Pam won. Thank you Pam and Mike for a wonderful evening learning Gods word.

Larry and Denise picked us up at 10:00 am and headed for the flea market. We checked on the strawberries and bought a half flat to split with Larry and Denise. The main reason I wanted to go was to get my knife sharped but the guy that does it wasn’t there today. I also bought a few Philips head bits for my impact driver. I think it was around 11:30 pm when we got home. After Larry and Denise left Cheri and I made a trip to the bank and to Publix’s for groceries. While Cheri was getting the groceries I walked over to Staples to get some graft paper. I wanted to draw up the wall design for that I will be building for Darren and Brooke. We had a late lunch when we got home. Cheri said that she wasn’t in the mood for any work in the sewing room so she took it easy the rest of the day. I did get the wall design drawn up. By the time I got that done it was too late to do anything else which was ok as I was ready to join Cheri in the recliner. We watched a movie but in my case it was only half a movie because I fell asleep. We had leftover barbeque bean soup and fresh strawberry shortcake for supper. It has been a long time since we have had strawberry shortcake, sure was good. Late this afternoon we had a rain shower and again during the night and I checked and received just over half an inch. It is so dry here and everything has turned brown. I remember it being so dry like it has been this fall and winter.

One thing I failed to mention Yesterday was on the way to Church the tire waring alarm came on again. So the saga with Tire Kingdom continues. I headed out this morning to get the tire repaired again. This is the second time that this has happened to a tire on the car. The manager told me that a tire patch not sealing was a very rare thing. He didn’t know what to say when I told him that it happened with another tire I got repaired there. Cheri was busy this morning making a big crock pot of barbeque bean soup with some of the leftover ham from Christmas. So we had a wonderful aroma of that throughout the house today. After getting the soup started Cheri headed to the sewing room where she has started a new project making a Taggie Blanket for baby Wyatt. I worked outside on the rocking motorcycle. I got two of the main parts cutout and still have one more of them but need a sheet of ¾ inch birch plywood. I also got a couple of the pieces for the gas tank done. It is a slow process learning how to use the router. It is fun to see the results of what I have done, plus I am enjoying the project. We had some of the bean soup for supper which was very good. This evening Larry and Denise came over to play cards. We played two game of Hand, Knee, and Foot and everyone was a winner.

Happy New Year to everyone and may you all have a blessed year. I couldn’t think of a better way to start the New Year than going to church and Sunday school to be in God’s house to spend time with him. Grandma also went with us. After we got home from church we changed our clothes and then headed to Lakeland. Cheri wanted to go to Jo-Ann fabrics and I wanted to go to Harbor Freight and Lowe’s. I also fill the car with gas which is now $2.39 per gallon. Gas has gone up 45 cents in the last month and a half. When I went to pick up Cheri she was the next person in the checkout line, good timing. Cheri got the material she wanted and I got a drill press at 25 percent off, so we both came home happy. It was time for pizza when we got home, it has been a while since we have had pizza at home. We watched and napped through a couple more Christmas movies. With Christmas gone by we must be getting a head start on Christmas movies for the coming Christmas. The cold spell is over and the warm weather is back.

Look who sat up for the first time by himself

Cheri and I were both up very early this morning not being able to sleep (too many aches and pains). It is hard to believe this is the last day of 2016. For the most part this year was better than last year, which is good. Cheri asked me what I was going to do today and I told her I wasn’t doing any more work for the rest of the year and she said me either. Darren and Brooke got us an Amazon Echo for Christmas and it arrived last night. So I spent most of the day getting it set up to link up to our phones on the calendar and shopping list. Probably was something that a fifth grader could do in a half hour. We are now having fun asking Alexa (the Amazon Echo’s name) different things like playing music, adding stuff to our grocery list, and even telling us a joke. I also got the new outdoor temp transmitter programed to the indoor unit and worked fine on the kitchen table but not working after I took it outside. I will check it out next year. Later this afternoon we watch more movies we had recorded. We spent a quiet New Year’s Eve at home and were in bed by 10:00 am. I did wake up at 11:58 pm to all the fireworks so I guess you could say I was awake for the New Year.
