It was warmer today but mostly cloudy. Cheri finished up all her sewing projects and put the sewing machine away for a while. I worked on finishing my detailing of the motorcycle. This afternoon Larry and Denise arrived back in the park for four days before they leave to have work done on their motor home. I was out riding the bicycle when I saw they were here. I stopped to see them and Larry was working on the truck. He said that they hit a piece of steel that was lying in the road. He said he missed it with the motor home but the truck in tow hit it and it came up and tore the running board off the truck. He was trying to put it back on when he realized that a support was missing. So I went and got our truck and Larry and I went back out where it happened and looked for the support. After doing some walking we finally found it. It was bent up pretty bad but with a lot of hammering we got it straighten out enough so we could get the running board back on. We also had to make a trip to Tractor Supply to get some new bolts. Cheri and Denise visited while we worked on the truck. We saw Paul and Bev out walking and Paul said he felt better but not as good has he should be.

It was another 27 degree morning, no wind and a high of 61 degrees, so it turned out to be a pretty nice day. It took a while for it to warm up so we stayed inside this forenoon. I did computer work; I had to search for some information on the VA as I have some more paper work to fill out. Cheri continued to work on her other quilt binding. She also started working on the income taxes as I needed some copies of medical and dental bills we paid this year. This afternoon we got the call that Grandma’s van was done and ready to be picked up. We took it for a test drive before we brought it home and I wasn’t happy with the brakes so when we got back I told them that the brakes needed to be bled as I thought there was air in the brake line. So the mechanic took it was a ride and he thought it was ok. Long story short he put it up on the rack and bled the lines and then we went back out for a test ride and everything was much better. On the way home I stopped at Radio Shack to see about getting a replacement power transformer for our digital picture frame. The biggest they had was a 1 ½ amp for $26 and I need a 3 amp. So I ended up ordering a 3 amp on line for $23. Our water was off for a while today and Bev was down to see if we had water and said Paul was sick again today, the same problem he had a few days ago. I have up loaded three pictures of Cheri’s quilt done and on the bed. See album: Cheri’s Quilt or click on this link http://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels/CheriSQuilt#

It was 27 degrees here this morning and everything is white with frost. No walk this morning we are staying close to the fire place. It is clear with a lot of sunshine and high of 54 degrees. Paul called this morning and wanted to know if we wanted to go over to Beall’s shopping. Paul was looking for some new shoes but didn’t find what he wanted. While Bev and Cheri shopped Paul and I went next door to the man’s store (Tractor Supply) to look around. We didn’t find anything there but Bev and Cheri each bought something at Beall’s. Then we went over to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things along with my medicine. On the way out we stopped in McDonald’s for a cup of coffee. While we were there Bev remembered that she needed a mattress cover for the new queen size bed that they bought yesterday. When we got home I started the grill to grill some chicken for lunch. This afternoon I took down all the outside Christmas lights. Cheri got the new quilt and pillows on the bed, tomorrow I will take some more pictures and get them uploaded. Later we walked over to Grandma’s to play cards. I got a call around 5:00 pm telling me that Grandma’s van won’t be done until tomorrow.

It is still cold but the wind isn’t as bad as it was yesterday. Paul and I took Grandma’s van in to have of work done on it have a bunch this morning. Then Paul and I stopped at McDonald’s for a cup of coffee. We took our truck out for a ride so I could show Paul how much more horse power I have now. It is going to be interesting to see how much better it pulls the 5th wheel. When we got home I helped Paul unload a couple of big windows that he is going to install in his Florida room. Cheri finished the binding on her large quilt and only has the smaller on left to do. We stayed inside today because it was so cold outside. We are now all caught up on the TV shows that we had recorded on the DVR. We did take down the Christmas decorations we had up inside the 5th wheel. I am going to wait for it to warm up before I take down the outside lights. Two more days of cold weather and then it is supposed to warm up. We still have it much better than all the northern people so I guess I shouldn’t be complaining.

What a miserable day. We had rain and strong wind most of the day, the rain quit around 1:00 pm but the wind never did die down. We had a high of 49 degrees, sure a big change from yesterday. We had left the van with Grandma so this morning she drove over here to pick us up for church. We didn’t have Ed and Loraine this morning as they are down in Naples visiting their son. This afternoon we went up to visit with Paul and Bev. Paul was over the flu and back to his old self. The four of us went over to Wal-Mart, Paul and Bev had to pick up a few things and I had to order my medicine and pick up some for Grandma. When we got back home I started watching the Packers, what a game. I only got to watch it until halftime as we were invited up to Paul and Bev’s to play dominos. Cheri and Bev won both games. When we got home I finished watching the Packers win their game against the Giants. If the Packers played the rest of the games like they did today nobody would be able to beat them (yes I can dream). What a great game.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It was a pretty quiet day for us. Cheri worked on the binding of her quilt; she said that it is half done. I did my outside Saturday chores. Then I worked on detailing the motorcycle as it hasn’t been done for a while and looked pretty dirty At 12:30 pm we picked up Grandma and Carol and went down to the Rec Hall for Christmas potluck dinner. The Park furnished the ham and potatoes and everyone else brought a dish to pass. There were around 170 people; nice turn out in fact there weren’t room for anyone else. Then it was back to Grandma’s to play cards, Grandma and Cheri each won a game. Then it was time to go back home and do some more work on the motorcycle and Cheri to work on her quilt. We didn’t have any supper tonight as we had plenty to eat at dinner. We settled in for an evening of TV. After we got to bed I heard it raining and I had to get up and put in the awning because the wind was blowing pretty hard. So much for all the cleaning I did on the motorcycle.

                                                          Cheri's Table Runner

I was excited this morning to take the truck out for a drive to see if what I did yesterday will make a different. Well after 30 miles of driving and 60 starts and stops to have the transmission learn the 6 different power levels. I was truly amazed how much more power the truck has now. Paul had helped me install the Banks EconoMind so I stopped by his place to take him for a ride to show him the big change in power. It turns out Paul was sick in bed with a fever and cold. So I got out of there as we don’t need any colds. We went over to Grandma’s and played cards with her. We were just starting the second game when Carol came so she played cards with us. Before we got done we got a call from Nikki, Coz, Cece, and Darren. It was good to hear from them. Nikki wanted to set up a video call. So after we got done playing cards we headed home to do the video call. Well we were too late as they were getting ready to go to church. Cheri finished her table runner this afternoon. Carol and Grandma are going downtown for candle light church service. We went to our church for the candle light service at 6:00 pm. On the way home we stopped at CVS to pick up some cold medicine for Paul. We also got a call from Kari this evening. Sure was nice that all the kids called us and wished us a Merry Christmas. So we are passing it on to you. Merry Christmas and remember Jesus is the reason for the season.

The day started out to be a little cool and breezy, but it did warm up to 65 degrees and mostly sunny. Cheri and I made a trip to Wal-Mart late this forenoon. It isn’t a place I like to go to this time of the year as it was packed with people. Although it didn’t take us too long, Cheri picked up a few groceries and I waited for Grandma’s medicine and we met at the checkout. This afternoon Cheri continued to work on her quilt and pillow cases. All she has left to do now is finish the binding on the quilts. She is also working on a table runner. I worked on installing the Banks EconoMind on the truck. I had ordered it some time back and finally got the chance to get it installed. Paul came down and helped me get it done. It was a big job and was happy to have Paul’s help. I figured it would take a day and a half to get the job done. We had to take the exhaust manifold off the right side of the engine so we could drill and tap a hole for the exhaust gas temperature probe. That was the biggest part of the project. It was after 5:00 pm before we got done and I got all the tools put away. All I have to do now is drive the truck for about ten miles in each of the six power setting so the transmission can learn the shifting pattern. It was starting to get dark and I will do that part tomorrow. Can’t wait to see the difference it will make in the horse power. It is suppose to give me 100 more horse power and 230 pounds of torque. I grilled up some pork chops this evening for supper. It was another night with nothing worth watching on TV.

Cheri worked all day on her quilt binding and making pillow cases to match the new quilt. She was still working on them when I got home from our 152 mile motorcycle ride. There were four of us on the ride today. We left at 10:00 am and headed to the Harley dealer in Clermont and then stopped for a bite of lunch at our usual stop (Burger King). Then we headed for the Harley dealer in Orlando. This is one we haven’t been to before. We couldn’t believe how many used and new bikes they had. I did buy an air baffle, oil filter wrench, oil filter oil catcher and spark plugs. We got home around 4:00 pm. This evening Paul and Bev picked us and we headed to Dade City to do the Church Street Christmas Walk. This is the 33rd year for the Church Street Christmas. It is a free three night event that attracts anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 visitors. Police block off the street so you can walk right down the brick street. The street is lined with luminaries on both sides. There are a lot of 4 foot by 8 foot Christmas cards along the street and all kinds of decorations and lights. Plus all the churches are open with music and several groups along the street are playing and singing Christmas carols. There is also a live nativity scene. What a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit. Thanks to God for another wonderful day.
Jesus is the reason for the season.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood with lots of sun and no wind. Cheri and Bev went shopping this morning and Paul picked me up to go to Lowe’s to get a bag of QuickC ret so we could concrete the pole in the ground for the satellite dish. When we got back we went to work on setting it up. We found a spot where we thought it would clear the trees. I had Paul hold the pole with the dish and I went inside to see if we had a signal, only had to turn it a bit before we had a signal. So we marked the spot and dug a hole for the pole. Dropped it in and poured the cement. I went back inside to check the signal one more time and we had a signal of 95 percent which was very good. Now all we have to do is let the concrete set up and then we can finish installing the cable. After lunch Cheri called and her sewing machine was fixed. So we headed to Lakeland to pick it up and then we stopped back by Arnold’s car repair shop to make an appointment to have a bunch of work done on Grandma’s van (new brakes, fan belt, timing belt, struts, shocks, front end alignment, wheels balanced and oil change). With 135,000 miles it was time to have some work done on it. When we got home Paul was already burying the cable for the satellite dish. I helped him finish and hooked the cable to the dish. The project came out looking very nice. Bud stopped over and we plan on taking a motorcycle ride tomorrow.

We stopped by Paul and Bev’s this morning to talk about putting up his satellite dish. The last couple years he had been using the dish on his neighbor’s park model. Well the guy moved out and abandons his trailer. It was in bad shape so the park is moving it out. So now Paul has to find a spot to put up the dish. He has a lot of trees around and it may be a problem getting a shot at the satellite. Paul was going to look for a pole to mount the dish on. Cheri and I headed for Lakeland to drop off her sewing machine to be fixed. It was close to noon when we got done with that so we stopped to have Chinese for lunch. Then we headed for Dade City where I had a 1:30 pm appointment with the VA to fill out some paper work on my hearing. I dropped Cheri off at the quilt store which made her very happy. I figured I would be done within a half hour. The half hour turned into two hours. I pick up Cheri and we headed home. We stopped by Paul and Bev’s to see if Paul got the pole for the satellite dish which he did and Cheri wanted to show Bev the material she bought. Paul invited us over to play dominos this evening. We got to talking about the solar eclipse that was going to be around 2:00 am. I guess it has been over 400 years since it has been on the first day of winter. From what I heard on TV that is the only thing that was special about it, no way was I going to get up at 2:00 am and go out in the cold to see it. When we came home the sky was clear and the moon was very bright. Well I woke up around 2:20 am and looked out the window on my side of the bed and was able to see the eclipse. I watched it for about ten minutes and rolled over and went back to sleep.

Not a very nice day today. It started out foggy and heavy mist in the air. After church we had to drive home in rain which lasted most of the day and then it got breezy. It wasn’t that cold but with the dampness in the air it wasn’t a comfortable day to be outside. This afternoon we went over to see Grandma and she was in the middle of a card game with Carol and Diane. So we left them to have their fun and headed back home. Cheri and I played some cards and the dice game, we each won two games. This afternoon we got a call from Paul and Bev and told us not to wait supper for them as they were going to be late getting here. After the rain stopped I grilled some brats for supper. Later in the evening Paul and Bev stopped in to let us know that they got here ok and had a nice visit with them. Then it was time to settle in and watch the Packer game. They did play better than I thought they would, but still came away a looser.

We got our morning walk in before it started to rain. We had rain off and on most of the day. We didn’t have much of anything planned today so no problem there. It was our turn to clean the church so that consumed most of our day. We were going to take Cheri’s sewing machine in for repair but they weren’t open this afternoon, maybe we can get that done on Monday. On the way home we made a stop at the road side stand for some vegetables and watermelon. Later in the afternoon I made a trip to the grocery store to pick up some brats for supper. We thought that Paul and Bev would be arriving this evening and planned on having them over for supper. We made call to them to see where they were at and they were in Alabama. They made a detour to see some friends there. They should be here around noon tomorrow so we will fix the brats then. Other than the work at church it was a lazy day.

Just as I was getting ready to go for a motorcycle ride Grandma stopped by to have Cheri help her with her check book. Then Cheri took her to Wal-Mart for groceries. This afternoon Cheri was working on her quilt and the sewing machine quit working again. Bud, Gary and I left at 10:00 am for our motorcycle ride. We headed to the Brandon Harley dealer by way of some back roads that we haven’t been on before. Then we stopped at Burger King for a hamburger. Then it was on to Lakeland by way of more roads that we haven’t ridden on for some time. We stopped at Poor and Broke to see what they had on sale. We didn’t find anything there that we needed so we headed on to the Lakeland Harley dealer. We left there and took some more back roads back home. It was a great day for a 122 mile ride and nobody bought anything. When I got home Cheri told me about the sewing machine, it is a different problem this time and I couldn’t fix it so we plan on taking it in for repair tomorrow. This evening we went to Saves a Lot to get some groceries and then we stopped at Razzle's cafe for supper and we treated ourselves with ice cream. It was another great day in the neighborhood except for the sewing machine.

God is the reason for the season.

Weather wise today was a very nice day with a high of 65 degrees, lots of sun and no wind. As far as the rest of the day it wasn’t the best day, a lot of things didn’t go right. The computer wouldn’t start up, I tired more than ten times to get it started and finally it came to life. Cheri didn’t receive her daily newspaper this morning and had to call for them to bring one. She didn’t receive it until 11:00 am. I was supposed to install a GPS on Gary’s motorcycle this morning and he didn’t show up so I did some cleaning on my motorcycle while I waited. Bud came by on his walk and wanted to know what was going on. I told him I was waiting for Gary to bring his motorcycle so I could install the GPS. Bud said he would stop by Gary’s and see what was up. A short time later Gary came with the motorcycle and said they were pouring concrete in his driveway and forgot to bring the motorcycle up. Gary left the bike and went back to supervise the concrete project. I got most of the GPS mounted and then had to go to the Napa store to get a fuse holder. I got very thing done and went to get a fuse and didn’t have one so it was another trip to the Napa store for a fuse. Gary was at our place when I got back. All I had left to do was put in the fuse and put the seat back on, good timing. After I got things cleaned up and went back inside Cheri said her sewing machine wasn’t working. She was sewing the binding on her quilts when it got jammed and wouldn’t work. I found that when she was sewing across a spot where there was an extra layer of material was when it jammed. It turned out that a set screw had come loose. I went to the tool box for my allen wrenches and I didn’t have one small enough. Our neighbor Lloyd flies model airplanes and figured that he might have one, well he wasn’t home so I headed down to the post office to get our mail. Lloyd was home when I got back and he had the allen wrench I needed for the sewing machine. So now I think everything is working again.

It was 28 degrees this morning and got to a high of 55 with lots of son and no wind. It was actually a very nice day to be out and about. We took a walk down to Bud and Joyce’s for a visit and to set up a motorcycle ride for Friday. This afternoon we decided to take in a movie. We went to see “The Tourist” it stars Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. It was an ok movie, but nothing special. I would give it a five out of ten. This evening Larry and Denies came up for a visit as they are leaving the park in the morning as their time is up and will be moving to another park. I am late getting this posted today as I was having problems getting the computer to start up. After over ten tries it finally started. I hope that it is just a glitch and no more problem’s, we will see what tomorrow brings.

It was 29 degrees this morning and a high for the day of 45 degrees. We decided there wasn’t anything outside we needed to do today so we stayed in where it was warm. We spent the day reading and watching TV. I did go out to take garbage up to the dumpster and down to get the mail. Tomorrow doesn’t look to be any better. With the freeze here it means we will be paying more for fresh fruits and vegetables. Nothing to write about today maybe tomorrow I will have more.

It was 43 degrees when I got up this morning and the high for the day was 45 degrees with a strong wind all day. We didn’t walk this morning, just too cold with the wind. It was warmer in Sabattus Maine than it was here today. We also got an e-mail from Tom Praxl telling us about the 12 plus inches of snow that they got in Oshkosh Wisconsin, crazy weather this winter and winter hasn’t even started. I had an appointment with my foot doctor this morning and everything is much better and I don’t have to go back as long as I am pain free. Cheri and I did go to Wal-Mart to do some shopping. After we got home we watched some TV and then we went over to Chili’s for their soup and salad lunch. The soup goes good on a cold day. After our lunch we stopped by Grandma’s and played a couple of games of SOB. Shortly after we got home Larry stopped by to let us know that he and Denise got back from Ontario without any problems and to deliver the oil and filters. Larry had ordered a lot of new parts for his motorcycle and I had him order me a case of oil and three filters for my motorcycle. The timing is good as it is about time to do an oil change. We settled in for an evening of TV.

The weather report today was for rain and wind and cooler weather. When we left for church it was sunny and clear, figured the weather man was wrong again as he has been the last two days. Well when we came out of church it was cloudy and the wind was blowing, then it started raining before we got home. So it turned out to be a nasty day just as they had predicted. I was a little down because the Packer game wasn’t going to be broadcasted in our area. But when the Viking and Giants game was cancelled they show the Packer game. How nice is that? We watched the first half of the game and then set the recorder to record the rest of the game as we headed to the theater to see Unstoppable starting Denzel Washington. We hadn’t planned on going to see it because how much excitement can there be about a runaway train. Cousin Rick said it was very good with a lot of action. He was right, we enjoyed it very much. So if you haven’t seen it we recommend that you go if you enjoy action movies. When we got home we watched the rest of the Packer game. It wasn’t a good ending as they lost. They are pretty much out of the playoffs now. Yesterday I wrote about the Walk through Bethlehem and I went through our picture albums and found the pictures we took back in 2007 when we did the walk. See album: Walk through Bethlehem. When you get to the picture albums you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and pick on show all albums and then scroll down until you see the album Walk through Bethlehem.

It was supposed to be another sunny day, that didn’t happen. It was very foggy this morning and we never saw the sun until around 3:00 pm. This morning we went over to Dean and Betty’s to see about going to check out the fire places. They decided to wait and maybe not get one at all. So we had a nice visit with them. Around 1:30 pm we walked over to see Grandma and she was playing cards with Carol and Diane. Carol had made a butterscotch pie so we had a piece of pie before we left. Then we stopped by Ed and Loraine’s for a short visit and to let them know we would drive in the morning for church. Around 4:15 Mike and Pam came to go with us to the Richmond Baptist church to do the Walk through Bethlehem. There Bethlehem is about 1/3 the size of Bethlehem during the time of Christ’s birth. On our tour we encountered over 100 costumed cast members and many live animals. Everything we seen had been researched for historical authenticity. This was the churches 15th year of putting on this event. The church members put in a lot of hard work doing this and they have a lot of people from all around the county come through this event. For some additional information go to this web site http://www.rbczephyrhills.com/.  After our tour we headed back to our place for pizza and cards. We showed Mike and Pam how to play SOB. We played two games, Pam won one and Cheri won the other one. It was a great day spent with family and friends.

It was a couple of degrees warmer this morning which made me feel better. I went over to Dean and Betty’s this morning as they are thinking about putting in an electric fire place and wanted to know what I thought about it. They don’t have a lot of room for it but I think it will work out ok where they want to put it. We may go to Dade City tomorrow to double check the measurements. The weather report for today was lots of sun and a high of 70 degrees. So Bud, Jack and I decided to take a motorcycle ride. Although it was mostly cloudy but figured it would clear up like the weather report said. So we left at 10:30 am with a temp of 54 degrees. We took the long way to Ocala. Just before we got to Ocala it started to rain, nothing hard just enough to make it miserable. So we made a stop at Mc Donald’s for lunch and hot coffee. Then we headed to the north side of Ocala and stopped at the RV dealer where we bought our 5th wheel. I made an appointment for January 17th to have some warranty work done. It was after 4:00 pm before we got back. We finally saw the sun shining just before we got home and the high for the day turned out to be only 60 degrees. We rode 173 miles and still it was a nice ride even if the weather didn’t cooperate like it was suppose to. Cheri did some cleaning and laundry along with reading and watching TV.

It was another cool breezy day which was a little better than the last few days but still has a ways to go for my liking. We made a trip to Harbor freight to take back the torque wrench that I bought a week ago. I had paid $20 for it and today they had a sale on them for $12 so I took mine back for a refund and bought it again for $12. Saved myself some money right, well that is the way it was supposed to be but after Cheri and I got done it cost us a little over $100 to get out of the store, so much for saving money. On the way home we stopped to get our LP tank filled, with the cold weather it didn’t take long to empty the tank. And it looks like we will be using a lot next week also. Cheri took Grandma for her check up with the heart doctor this afternoon and everything was good and she doesn’t have to go back again until April. This evening we took Grandma, Carol, Ed and Loraine to the Wire Grass Shops to see the Christmas tree lighting. The tree lights go on and off and change colors to the music. They even had a snow machine spitting out snow while the music was playing. After we got everyone back home Cheri and I headed over to Mike and Pam’s. They had invited us over for a visit and some Christmas cheer. Ron and Sandy were also there. It was a fun evening with all our friends and family.

It is another cold day, enough said as it is cold all over the US and many have it much colder than we have it, we still don’t have to like it. It was another stay inside day of playing on the computer, reading and watching TV. Cheri worked on our Christmas letter and Christmas cards. We did go to a movie this afternoon to see The Next Three Days. It stars Russell Crowe and we thought it was a very good movie. It is about a man willing to break his wife out of prison in order to get her out of a murder conviction.

Cheri came out ready for the morning walk and I wimped out as it was 33 degrees and windy, long story short we didn’t walk this morning. The high for the day was 50 degrees and windy all day. Cheri took Grandma to the doctor for her B12 shot and them to Wal-Mart for a few things. I spent the morning working on the computer making some Christmas music CD’s. I got a call from Larry and Denise and Larry wanted me to go to their motor home and start the furnace as he was afraid of water pipes freezing. We weren’t aware that the furnace was shut off. So we walked down and got that going. I went back early this evening to check and make sure it was working ok. This evening was our last Life Group meeting and we had a pot luck supper; Cheri fixed a potato casserole and a peanut butter pie to take. We sure are going to miss the Tuesday night meetings. The new Life Groups don’t start until sometime in January. We didn’t get home until 10:30 pm and went straight to bed with the electric blanket on.

It was a cold walk this morning with a temp of 34 degrees and a high of 49 degrees, plus we had a stiff breeze. So after our walk we needed some extra coffee this morning. This morning at 8:00 am the tickets for the entertainment at the Strawberry Festival went on sale. So I ordered tickets for the Judd’s (The Last Encore) and tickets for Clint Black. The shows are on March 6th and 7th, I hope it is warmer than it was last year as we just about froze watching Julianne Hough. We made a trip to the post office to send out Christmas presents and there was a line that was backed up out the door, but it did move along pretty fast. Then we made a stop at Wal-Mart so I could pick up my medicine and I had to buy a new mouse for the computer as the old one died this morning. Wal-Mart was very busy, not a good place to be this time of the year. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor appointment and everything is good. Now that we have the new HD TV in the bedroom I ordered a HD receiver for it. The old set was not HD ready. I was going to reroute the cables to the new set and decided to wait until I get the new receiver.

The forenoon was pretty much like every other Sunday. We picked up Grandma along with Ed and Loraine and headed for early church. We got home around 11:30 am and Cheri fixed us a salad for lunch. We can’t get the Green Bay Packers game today, what a bummer that is. The day before yesterday our bedroom TV died. So we still had some Christmas shopping to do and decided to buy ourselves a new TV for the bedroom this afternoon. We headed out for Lakeland and stopped at Wal-Mart to see what they had. We didn’t like any of the TV’s that they had. The old one was a 19 inch and so that is what we were looking for or maybe a 22 inch. While were there Cheri pick up a Christmas present for Cece. Then we stopped at Best Buy to see what they had and found a 19 inch LED for $179, so to do some comparison shopping we went over to hhgregg to see what they had. They had one we almost bought but wanted to have the extended warranty and they wanted $80 for two years which was too much, also they don’t have any stores west of the Mississippi River. Because we travel and if we had a problem with it and we were out west we wouldn’t be able to get it fixed. Then we went to Sears and found nothing we liked there so it was back to Best Buy. We were looking at the 19 inch LED set when a salesman asks us if we had any questions. So we talked a while about the new LED verses the LCD. Being the LED is the latest technology we decided that’s what we wanted. Then I made the mistake and asked him if they had any 22 inch LED sets on sale, of course they did. We decided if we got a new TV mount that would swing we would have room for the 22 inch LED TV. So now I am excited, and told the salesman that we wanted the 22 inch. He checked and they didn’t have any more in stock. I asked him to check the other Best Buy store and they didn’t have any left. He also checked to see when they would be getting more in and it didn’t show any being shipped. Now I am really bummed out. The salesman said let me see what I can do. He came back and asked us if we would take the display model. He said it would come with the full warranty and the extended warranty was only $29 for four years verses $79 for two years over at hhgregg. I asked him if the mount was on sale and he said he would check and came back with a $25 discount on it. So the TV was marked down from $280 to $220 and then the salesman took off another $15 because it was the display model plus the $25 discount on the mount. Then we added the four year warranty that will replace the TV if anything happens to it. We felt the $29 for this was a good idea because we travel and it will get some shaking from traveling. Then I wanted to know if I could bring everything back if it didn’t fit and exchange it for the 19 inch. He said that wouldn’t be any problem. Yep I have heard that before and I asked him how I can be sure, he said because I am the store general manager. So with that we felt better and headed out the door with the new TV hoping that if would fit. I made a quick stop at Harbor Freight to pick up a quarter inch torque wrench. When we got home I went right to work on checking out to see if the mount and TV would fit and it turned out to be better fit than the old one was. I got it mounted and hooked up. All that is left to do is rerun the cables and dress things up, that’s my job for tomorrow. What a great day it was plus the Packers won.

It was another 37 degree morning and the ground was white with frost. There was no wind and it did get up to the low 60’s with a lot of sun. Our morning started out different than most mornings. We had our morning coffee, showered and got dressed before we took our morning walk. Today was the park wide yard sales and craft sale at the Rec Hall. So Cheri and I were out checking out the yard sales at 7:00 am. It wasn’t to start until 8:00 am but a lot of people had things already set out. Cheri bought some material at one stop for $1.00, than we bought 5 DVD movies for 25 cents each along with a portable DVD player for $10.00 and a new indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer for 25 cents. We drop off that stuff back at the 5th wheel and continued our walk. On another stop I bought a Craftsman skill saw with case for $12.00. I told Cheri it was her Christmas present, she didn’t think that was a good idea. On the way back to the 5th wheel we stopped at the Rec Hall to check out the crafts. Then we drove over to Golden Corral for breakfast. When we got back we went over to Grandma’s and she had been out riding around the park with Carol. We took the van and headed for New Port Richey for the main street craft sales and the evening boat parade. We were going to be near Hobby Lobby and Cheri wanted to stop and do some Christmas shopping for Cece. When we got to New Port Richey we walked the main street and checked out all the different crafts. Cheri found some jewelry that she bought which looked very nice and I got to help her pick out a couple of pieces. Then we went back to the van and watched one of the movies on the DVD player we bought this morning. It worked great and the movie we watch was Angels Fall which was very good. After the movie we walked over to a fish, vegetable, sandwich, and ice cream shop. We each had a bowl of homemade New England clam chowder. Then of course to finish things off we had to have ice cream. Then we walked over to the park with our chairs and waited for the boat parade which was very nice. There were between 25 and 30 boats. All decorated with lights and some even had bands playing music. It was a great evening and we got home around 9:30 pm. I took a few pictures of the murals on some of the building downtown and in the park along with a few of the boats that were in the parade. See album: New Port Richey. It was a little warmer at 43 degrees this morning and a high of 63 degrees. The morning walk wasn’t as bad as yesterday as there wasn’t any wind this morning. We stayed home today and worked. Cheri did laundry and I cleaned out my cupboard and filed away papers I had collected and it turned out to be an all day project. It was late afternoon before I got outside again and that was to take a big bag of trash up to the dumpster. I am glad that we cancelled the motorcycle ride for today as it would have been only 49 degrees when we would have left for the ride. Tomorrow is the all park wide yard sales with crafts and lunch at the Rec Hall. We were going to set some stuff out for the sale and then being it’s going to be cold we are going to donate our stuff to the church for their spring yard sale. Dean and Betty came over for a visit and to play dominos. The first game went right down to the wire but we guys pulled it out for a win. The second game was a blow out as the girls won by over 300 points.

I believe winter has arrived in Florida as it was down to 37 degrees this morning and a high of 59 degrees and windy today. After our cold morning walk and lots of coffee we called Larry and Denise to see if they wanted to go out to the flea market. They said they would walk up and go with us. Cheri and Denise had a lot of fun going through everything. It didn’t take Larry and me very long to walk through, although I did buy mitt with a long handle to clean the windshield on the inside of the truck and a new US flag. Larry didn’t find anything he couldn’t live without. On the way home we drove through a RV park that had a lot of sites for sale. It is a park where you own your own land. It was a very nice park but way out of our budget. Then Denise got a call that her father had passed away. So as soon as we got home they packed and took their truck and headed for Sudbury Ontario, a long 24 hour trip. This afternoon we went over to Grandma’s and played cards. Then we stopped by Ed and Loraine’s for a short visit. Then we walked down to Bud and Joyce’s. I wanted to tell Bud that I was cancelling our motorcycle ride for tomorrow. I decided it would be too cold for the ride as there will be many more warm days that we can ride. When we got home Cheri fixed us some nice hot Chicken Noodle soup. It really hit the spot on a cold day.

Wow!! It’s December already, I don’t know where November went. I hope December goes a little slower, only 24 more shopping days left to get your sweetie something for Christmas. I spent most of the morning getting the pictures we took yesterday off the camera and up loaded to our web album. We did go over to Wal-Mart as I needed to pick up my medicine and we also made a stop at the vegetable road side stand to get lettuce, broccoli, bananas, and watermelon. That should hold us for the rest of the week. It was only 63 degrees for a high today with a stiff breeze, had to have a jacket on. I did some cleaning on the motorcycle this afternoon. When we went for a ride Monday we got behind a truck that was hauling sand and the front of the bike looks like it was sand blasted. Not a good thing and now the nice shinny chrome is on the dull side. I don’t think there is any way to restore it. I also installed the temperature gauge I received in the mail yesterday, looks nice and matches the clock. Larry and Denise stopped by for a visit. Cheri gave Denise some material that she wasn’t going to use. Denise said she was going to do a practice quilt with the material. We spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV.

Cheri and I were up and on the road by 7:30 am heading to Orlando to visit the Holy Land Experience. We met Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam (from our Life group) at 9:30 am in the Holy Land parking lot. The doors opened at 10:00 am and we were ready for the Holy Land Experience. There is no way I can put into words how it made us feel. It was a great experience and I recommend it a must see if you are ever in Orlando or anywhere near there. We watched shows and reenactments, everyone did an excellent job. We eat lunch at the Oasis Palms and then did more shows and reenactments. It was 6:30 pm before we left the Holy Land Experience. We had a short drive to Mimi’s for dinner. At 8:15 pm we said our goodbyes and headed for home. We arrived at home at 9:30 pm tired and very happy about our day in the Holy Land. It is an experience we will never forget. If you want to know more about our experience check out their web site at http://www.holyland-orlando.com/index.htm. I have uploaded pictures of our day.
