The plan for today was to install the new CV joint and axle in the van. Well it was already 84 degrees at 8:00 am and I was thinking do I really want to do this job in the heat. Lazy me thought about it and by 8:45 am it was raining. I smiled and told Cheri that I wasn’t supposed to work on the van today. So we went out shopping and ended up at Lowe’s where I was checking on impact guns and found the one that I wanted. So now I have to see if Christmas can come early this year. Cheri continued to work on her quilt project while I read. Later I fired up the grill and gilled up some sausages for supper. Then it was time to go and visit the gang and settle some more world problems. With it raining off and on all day there wasn’t much of anything else to do. We did think about going to see the movie Man of Steel. But figured it being Saturday that there would be a lot of people there, we decided to wait until one day next week and go to a matinee. See being retired and lazy isn’t all bad.

I dropped Cheri off at the pool for her exercise class as I needed the van to take Grandma to the doctor for her B-12 shot. We had to wait a bit before they called her back, while she is getting her shot I was making an appointment for the shot next month. Well the nurse that gives her the shot came out to me and said that she couldn’t have it because she was two days early and the insurance wouldn’t pay for it. So now we have an appointment for Monday. After I dropped Grandma off at home I drove back to the pool to pick up Cheri. It was hot and humid today with rain showers. So this afternoon Cheri and I went shopping down in Brandon and later she got a call from the quilt shop in Plant City that something she ordered was in. I am beginning to think she has something going there as this is the third time in four days that she has been there. We also made a stop at Auto Zone to pick up a CV joint and axle for the van. I needed to make one more stop at Home Depot to check out the impact drivers. Mike has one that we have been using on the park patio deck. I had never seen one before and could believe how great they work so I wanted to check them out and see about getting one, well I guess I will have to put it on my Christmas list because it was way over my budget. On the way home we stopped at Subway for supper.

I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep so at 4:00 am I got up, don’t know what the problem was; my mine started working and couldn’t get back to sleep. Cheri also got up early this morning and was telling me the same thing. Mike and I worked on the Rec hall this morning and have done all we can do until Vic (the manager) gets us the materials we need to continue. This afternoon Mike & Mary, Norm & Marlene, and Cheri and I did a road trip to Plant City. The first stop was at the quilt shop for the ladies, they each came out with a bag. The next stop was Southern Hospitality , Mike and Mary hadn’t been there before and are ready to go back when they have more time to shop, they did buy a couple of thing to decorate outside. The next stop was Poor and Broke, a salvage place with all sorts of building materials. Then we headed to Lakeland so the ladies could shop at Hobby Lobby. They each came out with a bag. Then it was to a new store called Deals that we had never been to before. It was a mix of the Dollar store and Big Lots. Ok after all of that it was time to go to Ling’s for some good Chinese food. This was a new place for Mike and Mary. The next stop was Harbor Freight and actually it was a stop for the ladies as they wanted to get a charger and some rechargeable batteries for pool exercising radio, of course we guys didn’t complain about the stop. After all of this it was time to head for home. We arrived around 6:30 pm and had a great time.

I took Grandma for her post operation appointment at 8:30 am; everything is ok and had a good report. She has to go back in two weeks. When I got back home I changed clothes and headed down to the Rec hall to do some more work on the patio. Mike and I got the stairs pulled away from the patio and tomorrow we plan on getting the old ledger board remove. I took the van back to the tire store as there was a tire out of balance or a bad tire. Well one of the guys took it out for a ride and came back and checked the balance of all the tires, said they were ok and that my problem was with the van suspension. I said why didn’t I have the problem before the new tires were installed? He said that it was because the old tires were soft and worn out (guess I was born yesterday). I said that is not acceptable and the manager and I went for a ride and he said that there has to be a bad tire. So they put on four more new tires and problem solved. I was pretty frustrated and when I get frustrated the stress meter goes up and I get a head ache, time to go home and relax. Cheri did her water exercise class and worked on her quilt project. I couldn’t believe how much she got done on the quilt. This evening was Bible study at church with Pastor Dean, learning how God dealt with people in the book of Genesis. I have read Genesis a few times but I guess I never really understood what I was reading. So after tonight I think I have a better understanding how God guided his people in the beginning. Of course some of us had to go for free pie at the Village Inn after Bible study.

At 10:00 am I took Grandma to have the cyst removed from her eye at the surgery center. It took longer than they figured because she also had a bump on the inside of her eye lid and had to go back into surgery to have it removed. It was 12:30 pm before we got home. When I got home I noticed that the left front tire on the van was very low on air. So after lunch I pumped it up and went over to Tire Kingdom which is the closest tire shop. It turned out that it had a hole in the side wall of the tire and needed to have a new tire. I was planning to put on new tires in a couple of months so it got done sooner, so much for the budget. Late this afternoon Cheri and I went for a ride down to Plant City and made a stop at Southern Living. It is a store with all kinds of furniture and things to decorate with. Cheri likes to stop in there every so often. Yes Larry they still have your elephant waiting for you, by the way Happy Birthday to our friend Larry Loeffen. I surprised Cheri and stopped at the quilt shop while we were in Plant City. When we got home we had left over steak from our anniversary dinner yesterday. Cheri worked on her quilt project today. I finally got to see what it is she is working on, it is called Beach Walk. There is a lot of cutting out small pieces and sewing them together to make a picture. There are five blocks to make and I am sure it is going to take her a long time to finish this project. We did walk again this evening and stopped to visit with the gang. It is always a good time with a lot of laughs. We got a little rain while we were there and got to see a rainbow. It was a nice way for God to end the day, a rainbow and beautiful sunset.

Forty six years ago God blessed me with a beautiful young lady to be my wife, best friend, partner, and lover. Each day she has become more beautiful and each day does things that amaze me. This morning I took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and Cheri headed to the pool for her morning exercise class. It was near noon when I got home with Grandma. Right after lunch I headed out to mow Bud’s and our lawn. After all that was done it was time to take shower number two for the day. I was supposed to meet the guy that was going to spray inside and outside of Grandma’s place between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm. I figured I would make it just in time after my shower, not so Grandma called at 2:15 pm and said that he was there. Well I did get there before he got done so I could set up a continuing spray program and will come every three months to spray. Around 3:00 pm Cheri and I headed to Lakeland to do some shopping and go out to eat for our anniversary at Out Back. First we ordered a blooming onion which we haven’t had in years, boy was that ever good. We ordered New York Strip steak done over an apple wood fire, another good choice. On the way back into the park the gang was sitting out so we stopped to visit. It was another wonderful day God made for us.

It seems like every Sunday is the same as the Sunday before. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us and on the way she said that she received 58 birthday cards and talked about how surprised she was and all the people that came to her party. Pastor Dean’s message today was about Love and was very good. After church Ron & Sandy and we went to Bob Evans for lunch. I think I like going there better than most other places as they have a great menu and the prices are that bad. When we got home Cheri got out some new project to work on, she hasn’t told me what it is. I spent the afternoon watching the NASCAR race along with a couple of movies we had recorded and yes I did check the inside of my eye lids for an hour or so. Late this afternoon we had a rain come through. It didn’t last very long but rained really hard and got just under a half inch. It looks like I am going to be mowing lawns again tomorrow.

First of all I want to wish my mother (Grandma) a happy birthday, she is now 92 years young. We had a surprise birthday party planned for her today. So at 9:00 am Cheri and I went over to Publix’s to pick up the cake and ice cream and brought it back to the Rec hall. A few ladies from the park came and helped set things up and decorate. Then Cheri and I went to get some helium filled balloons. At 12:15 pm we picked up Grandma and took her out for lunch and then back to the Rec hall for the surprise party. Boy was she ever surprised, 35 people showed up for the party, and a good time was had by all. Around 4:30 pm it started to rain and really came down and by 7:00 pm it was over and this evening I checked the rain gauge and we got just over 2 inches. A little after 6:00 pm Cheri and I went to Save A Lot to get groceries for the church pantry and took them to church to drop them of f and then checked out the art fair they were having in the church lobby. I am not much into art but Cheri and I did see a couple things that looked nice. On the way back into the park we see the Gang sitting out so we stopped to visit.

I picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and took her for her lab appointment and then to the bank. I needed to be back by 10:00 am so Cheri could use the van to go for her pool exercise class; well we were back by 9:45 am. When I got home Cheri said that Marlene called and the exercise class wasn’t going to start until 10:30 am because they were slow getting the pool cleaned this morning. It was a little cooler this morning and the humidity was down so I decided to go for a motorcycle ride. The bike needed to go and I needed to go, did an 87 mile ride, just riding through the country side. I was all by myself and did a lot of thinking while on the ride, didn’t have to worry about anybody else. It was 12:30 pm when I got home and Cheri was nice enough to wait for me to have lunch. After lunch we went and did some shopping. We got a call from Pam and she wanted us to come up to their place so we could see Jenny, Mike and Pam’s daughter who is back from Tennessee for a couple of weeks. We went out to eat here in Zephyrhills at Manolos Ristorante which is my favorite Italian restaurant. Then it was back to Mike and Pam’s for an evening of cards and Aggravation.

I went out early to do some waxing on the 5th wheel, but that didn’t last very long as it got too hot. I got almost half of what I got washed a while back done. Once I get this part done it should be easier as it will be in the shade most of the morning. After I got cleaned up I went up to Grandma’s to drop of her medicine and tell her that someone will be coming Monday to spray for ants. Cheri was that the pool doing her exercises. This afternoon we went out for a ride and got caught in a rain storm, it was coming down so hard that you couldn’t see to drive and lasted about 45 minutes. We were only a mile from the 5th wheel and when we got home it hadn’t rained here. At 5:00 pm we picked up Mike & Mary and Norm & Marlene and took them to Dade City for Mexican at Del Carmen Mexican Restaurant. It was the first time that any of them at been there and all were happy and said that we would have to go back again. When we got home we sat down to watch TV and with a full stomach you can guess how much TV we actually watched. Cheri’s knee is still getting better, but not gaining very much each day now. It is something that we thought she would be over and back to her old self in about 3 to 4 weeks, not so as it now has been 10 weeks since she had the surgery. I know she is depressed because it is taking so long to heal.

Mike and I worked this forenoon on the Rec hall patio. We didn’t get a lot done but made some progress. It got too hot and the humidity was very high. Mike had some other projects he needed to work on today. I also had a couple things that I was going to do this afternoon but the rain came and took care of that. We got about ¾ of an inch of rain with a lot of lighting and thunder. Cheri and I played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which I won, so there must be a blue moon as that is about how often I win. This evening we met Ron & Sandy, Mike & Pam at Capri Pizza & More for supper. After supper we all headed to church for our Bible study class with Pastor Dean. It was about God’s covenant with Abraham and how he did some things wrong but God stayed with him and blessed him with the many things that he did right. After Bible study eight of us went to the Village Inn for free pie, if you buy something else. Will for most of us it was pie alamode at a cost of $1.70 for Cheri and me. We old people know how to find the best deals when it comes to eating out. It was a great evening spending it with God and friends.

It was just Mike and me working on the Rec hall this morning as Norm had a doctor’s appointment. We got the new support slid in place and fastened down. We got most of the old support removed, had to quit before we got done. It was just too hot to continue. Mike and I were both soak and wet from sweating. It was good to get in the shower to get cleaned up and cooled down. I must say I felt pretty wiped out. Cheri continues to go to the pool for the exercising; it is something that she looks forward to doing. Cheri is still looking through her material and patterns to see what she wants for her next project. This afternoon I worked on finishing the cleaning of the motorcycle windshield, I still have to finish the detail cleaning. Late this afternoon we went over to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine for Grandma. While we were there we got a call from Pam and Mike and they were on their way home and wanted to stop by to talk to us about some questions we had about our church and the Bible, thank you, you are always there for us in our time of need. We got a little rain this evening so we passed on the evening walk and it was really too hot to be out walking anyway (poor excuse, just lazy).

I took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment this morning. It was an eye check up and thought it wouldn’t take very long but the doctor found a sis on her left eye ball and will have to go in for surgery to have it removed. They have scheduled the surgery for next Tuesday. The Mike and Norm worked on the Rec hall this morning and I felt bad that I wasn’t able to help. When I got there to help Mike was just finishing up for the day. Cheri spent the day going though her material trying to figure out what project she wants to do next. This afternoon I checked the temp and it was 90 degrees and I needed to mow lawns. I was pretty much wiped out by the time I got done with lawn work. This evening I grilled up a couple of New York strip steaks we got at the meat market in Dade City. It has been a long time since we have had a steak on the grill and it really hit the spot along with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. We walked again this evening and visited with Norm & Marlene and Mike & Mary. Cheri leg and knee continue to improve a little each day. It was another wonderful day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers and the all the mothers that help make them good fathers. I know this from experience, without Cheri I couldn’t do it as I needed her guidance. We took Grandma to church with us and Pastor Dean had another great message about Dads, he called it Big Daddy’s Day. After church the three of us went to Next Door for lunch and then home to rest for the day. Cheri read and napped and I watched the NASCAR race and napped. This evening we walked down to Norm and Marlene’s to visit, Mike and Mary were also there. It started to rain before we headed home so we stayed a while longer and Norm gave us a ride.

Today I feel like I have officially become an old man as I celebrated number 70. All my life getting older never bothered me but there is something about being 70 seems old (I guess it is). Cheri and I went out to Golden Corral for breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal and there is no better place then Golden Corral as you get to have a little of everything. When we got home I did some computer work and finished up the 5th wheel maintenance project that I started yesterday, one more thing I can mark off my list. Cheri worked on her quilt bag that she will use to take quilt and sewing projects to stores to get the material she needs. In fact she finished it this afternoon. I will try to take a picture of it tomorrow and post it. I tried to watch the Nation Wide NASCAR race this afternoon but my eye lids got very heavy so I didn’t get to see the whole race but did get to see the ending which was very good. Around 4:00 pm it started to rain with thunder and lighting, but didn’t last long. Around 6:30 pm we went for a walk and didn’t find anyone sitting out so we walked back home, probably was a good thing as we weren’t home very long before it started to rain again. We ended up getting a little over ½ inch of rain. I didn’t think it was going to rain today so I watered our lawn and also Buds. So with the rain the lawns should be good for a couple of days.

Hey its flag day, I hope everyone displayed their American flag. In fact we should display Old Glory every day and think about what it means to be in a country that is free and able to do many things. Although I am sure our fore fathers would be turning over in their graves if they could see how we are destroying our country by removing God which is what our great country was founded on. I headed out this morning to work on the Rec hall when Mike stopped me and said that he and Norm weren’t working today, I guess I didn’t get the word, which was ok as I had enough work at home. I spent the morning and most of the afternoon doing some 5th wheel maintenance, when you have a home that is in a constant earth quake (while traveling) there is always something to do. Which means I should have had it all done several months ago (shows how lazy I have really been). Cheri knee and leg is still improving, another week or two she should be back to almost 100 percent. We had plans to go out and eat this evening with Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam to celebrate Sandy’s birthday, the selling of Ron & Sandy’s house, my birthday, and Fathers Day. Pam got a call that Ron was sick with the flu. So Mike & Pam, Cheri and I went to Dade City for dinner at Francesco’s. They have the best Greek salads in the country, so I guess you know what we had. We went back to Mike and Pam’s to play Aggravation, well Cheri and Pam won all three games. It was time to play something different so we played SOB. Mike and I each won a game. It was a wonderful day to spend with close friends.

I wrote the blog and forgot to post it yesterday.

We went for Cheri’s doctor appointment this morning and found out that she now has a Bakers sis behind her knee. He has put her on Celebrex which should help the knee and shrink the sis. She has another appointment in a month. After her appointment we went over to Wal-Mart to have her prescription filled. Cheri also wanted to get a couple of tops like one she got a while back. I did some shopping and day dreamed about a few things that would be nice to have. It was around 11:00 am when we got back to the park, stopped by Norm and Marlene’s as they were waiting for Cheri’s doctor’s report. Mike and Vic had gone to get the materials we need to continue work on the Rec hall patio. It was up to 90 degrees with really high humidity, so we decided to wait until tomorrow morning to work on the patio. I did mow Bud’s lawn this afternoon, with the heat that did me in for the day. Cheri worked on her latest sewing project. This evening we met Mike and Pam at Capri Pizza & More. We split a pizza and then the four of us headed for our church Bible study that pastor Dean is doing. It was another great evening, spending it with special friends and learning more about what God has and is doing for us.

postheadericon Gay June-13-13

Mike, Norm, and I worked this forenoon on the Rec hall patio. We got the new support framed up and ready to bolt in place, which we plan on doing tomorrow. With the high humidity and high temp you can’t work very long outside, we had a high temp of 94 degrees. This afternoon Norm and Marlene along with Mike and Mary picked us up and we headed to Lakeland shopping. Our first stop was Harbor Freight for us guys. Then it was on to Jo-Ann Fabrics for the ladies. Then Norm drove us around one of the lakes so we could see all the swans plus a few black swans that I never heard of before. We did see a pair of swans nesting. The city puts stakes and tape around the nest so people won’t bother them, although I am sure the swans can take care of themselves. Cheri and I need to go back to get some pictures. Then we headed for a quilt shop where Marlene had her sewing machine repaired and was ready to pick up. Then we headed over to Fred’s for dinner. It is the first time Mike & Mary, Cheri and I have been there. It is a Buffet and all the food is home made. They have a lot of different foods that you don’t see at other restaurants, like green fried tomatoes, squash, fresh green beans, baked catfish, baked corn casserole, and skillet baked corn bread just to name a few things. After dinner it was time to head for home. Norm took us a different way home. It was a great time and nice of Norm to do the driving. It was another great day in Florida.

Norm, Mike, and I worked on the Rec hall this morning. We got the temporary support in to hold up the second floor patio. We made a list of materials we needed for the new support and gave it to Vic. We were hoping that he would go and get the materials this afternoon but by this evening nothing had been done. Cheri continues to go for the pool exercise and she says that it does help her knee and leg. She is still having a pain with it; she has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow so we will see what he has to say about it. I am sure he will say that it will just take more time for it to heal. This afternoon we rode over to Wesley Chapel to pick up the GPS and just got in the store will the sky opened up with a hard rain. I had to wait for a few minutes before I could get back to the car. Cheri said that she would wait for me in the car. Then we went over to Sam’s and waited in the car for about fifteen minutes for it to let up again. When we got home I checked and we received an inch of rain plus we got half an inch yesterday. This evening we walked down to get our mail and Grandma’s, then walked up to Grandma’s to drop it off and a visited with her. On the way back home we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a visit.

Mike LeBlamc and I met with the park manage (Vic) this morning as Mike and I have volunteered to replace the wall that holds up the upper patio to the second floor of the Rec hall. Vic had started on it and has run out of time to continue the project. So Mike and I have decided to do it. We had just finished talking to Vic when I got a call from Ron that Mike Gregory had been taken to the hospital by ambulance. So I went down to the pool to tell Cheri and she came home right away and we headed over to the emergency. Pam had just gone back to be with Mike before we got there. Pam came out later and said that Mike’s heart was good and that wasn’t the problem and they were doing more tests. Ron and Sandy left as they had things that had to be done. Cheri went back to be with Pam as only two people can be in the room at a time. Later we went out for lunch and brought back Pam something to eat. Then we headed home as Mike was in for more test. Pam said that they were having trouble with their smoke detector so I went to their place and fixed it. Cheri had to take Grandma grocery shopping. When I got back I mowed the lawn and then up to Grandma’s to install the new strobe light so she can see when the phone rings. In the mean time Pam had called Cheri and told her Mike had a very bad sinus and ear infection which can be taken care of with antibiotics and could take up to three weeks to get rid of it. We picked up a few things and went up to Mike and Pam’s to have supper with them. After supper and a little visiting we headed home so Mike could get some rest. On the way in the park we stopped to visit with Norm & Marlene and Mike & Mary as they were sitting out. It was 9:00 pm before we got home.

Today was like most Sunday’s, picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church. The church is doing a series called Lord teach us to Pray, It has been very interesting. After church eight of us went out for lunch in Dade City at Del Carmen Mexican Restaurant. We dropped Grandma off at home on the way as she didn’t think that she could eat the spicy food. The food was very good as usual, the best Mexican Restaurant in the area. When we got back to the park we see Norm and Marlene sitting out so we stopped for a visit. Marlene had her barn quilt done and hung up, looks very nice. A couple of more people in the park are thinking about doing one. We didn’t get back to our place until around 3:00 pm. Cheri took a nap and I watched the NASCAR race that I had recorded, not a very exciting race until the last 20 laps. Around 4:00 pm it started to rain and didn’t quit until around 10:00 pm and we got another inch of rain. I thought that I was going to get the lawn mowed today but the rain took care of that.

This forenoon we called Mike and Pam to see if they wanted to go shopping, so that is how we spent our forenoon. We had to be back as we had a surprise wedding anniversary to attend at the Rec hall for Bud and Verlin Randolph. They were married 51 years ago today and Bud wanted to do a surprise party for Verlin and a surprise it was. They had music, cake and ice cream. It made for a nice afternoon of visiting. It started to rain around 2:00 pm and didn’t quit until around 8:30 pm and received just little less than two inches. With all the rain and hot weather the grass is growing really fast and I need to mow lawns again. I really need to get back to work on the 5th wheel but with the hot humid weather it hard to get excited about working (just another excuse not to work).

Cheri did her exercise class this morning and I worked on cleaning and polishing the windshield from the motorcycle. Once again I brought it into the 5th wheel because it was too hot and muggy outside. Cheri also did two loads of laundry and I helped hang it out. Before she got home from her exercise class I got the sheets off the line and got the bed made for her. I had gotten a call that my GPS was done so we headed out to pick it up this afternoon, well when we got there the guy took my power cord to check it out and after waiting a while he came out and said the GPS wasn’t working. So we had to leave it as the repair guy was gone for lunch. A while back I mentioned about Cheri’s not being able to make it to her dentist appointment because she was sick and I had to take her to the emergency room. Because of this, she missed her dentist appointment on that day and charged us $50.00 for missing the appointment, I took in the emergency room release papers but that didn’t make any difference plus I had called and told them she couldn’t make it. So we have decided to find a new dentist and now the old dentist wants $50.00 from each of us to get the x-rays we had taken last year. After the fact I checked with the Better Business Bureau and found out that he had an F rating which is the lowest rating. This evening we went out to eat with Mike and Pam and then back to their place to play cards and aggravation. Pam and Cheri won everything we played, not a good night for Mike and me.

Well we hungered down for the day as tropical storm Andrea came through. Well it wasn’t all that bad here. We did get 2.7 inches of rain and very little wind. We got a call from Pam that we were in the path of a tornado, checked the TV and she was right but it didn’t get this far. Along the coast the weather was worse and they got a lot more rain. There were around 5 or 6 tornados that did touch down and did some damage. The rain had started around 3:00 am and by 1:00 pm most of the rain was over only had a few showers this afternoon. Cheri went to have her hair cut this morning and when she came back she said that all haircuts were $8.00. So this afternoon I went and had my hair cut. I spent the rest of the day reading and watching TV. Cheri is working on a new quilt project, something about a bag to take patterns with her when she goes shopping for material, guess I will have to wait and see what it looks like.

It was a cool 71 degrees and very cloudy this morning and I figured it was a good time to continue hand washing on the 5th wheel. I got the rest of the right side done and now if we could have another cool dry day so I can get that part waxed. I was just finishing up when it started to rain and didn’t last very long. They have rain forecasted for the day but never really happened, just a few drops now and then. I managed to get the new cabinet we bought yesterday cut down so it would fit in the spot where Cheri wanted it. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. Cheri and I needed a few things from Wal-Mart and Lowe’s so we went out for lunch at Subway. We were in line when Cheri got a call from Pam as they just got done with Mike’s doctor appointment and was wondering if we wanted to go out for lunch. Long story short they joined us at Subway. Mike got a good report from the doctor telling him his heart is in great shape. We had a nice visit as it is the first time we have seen them since they returned from their trip north. I had asked Cheri if she could make something to hold the remotes that would hang from the arm of the recliner, so this afternoon Cheri took some material and made a remote holder. It looks and works great (she is so smart). This evening Mike and Pam picked us up and we went to church. Pastor Dean is doing a 9 week session on the first five books in the Bible. He only did the first 2 chapters of Genesis and it was so interesting and couldn’t believe how fast the time went by, can’t wait for next week to see what is next. Afterwards Mike & Pam, Ron & Sandy, and Cheri and I went to the Village Inn where they have free pie on Wednesdays if you buy a drink or something. It was a fun time to fill out the rest of the evening. Here are the pictures of Cheri’s new cabinet and her latest quilt project.

When Cheri got home from her exercise class we headed out shopping. Cheri’s knee and leg is still improving, I thought that she could use some exercise walking in some stores, of course she was ready to go. We planned on going to Wesley Chapel and stop at Subway to have a sub for lunch. Well that all changed before we got out of town. We decided to go to Hobby Lobby in Lakeland. There is a Subway on the way into Lakeland and was going to stop there. Then I said it has been a long time since we have had Chinese and the best Chinese restaurant (Lings Buffet) is just a little ways from Hobby Lobby. It is my favorite place to go for Chinese. Cheri is still looking for some type of cabinet to put between the recliners and we thought that maybe Hobby Lobby would have something. Well we found a very neat cabinet that has seven drawers and with a little modification by me it will work out very nicely. It was $219.00 and had been marked down to $110.00 which we thought was a good deal and then we noticed that one of the drawer pulls was missing. We checked on drawer pulls and it was going to cost $21.00 to replace the drawer pulls. So when we got to the checkout counter we showed them that one of the drawer pulls was missing and asked them if they could do better on the price. After it was all said and done we got the cabinet for $72.00. I had rain on the way down to Lakeland and we also ran into rain again on the way home and continued into the evening. We picked up Grandma’s mail and took it up to her and she showed us that her telephone strobe light wasn’t working. So after checking it out, I am going to have to get a new one. She also had a light bulb that needed to be replaced in the kitchen and will have to go and get one as it takes a special bulb. I didn’t get the picture taken of Cheri’s latest quilt project but will get it done tomorrow along with the new cabinet.

Cheri went down for the morning exercise class and they were still cleaning the pool. The guy that has been volunteering to do it has gone on vacation and now the maintenance manager has to do it and he doesn’t get up very early so the ladies came home and will go back this evening. I did several honey do jobs and mowed Bud’s lawn. I had to wait until this afternoon to mow the lawn as it was hot and muggy today and the grass didn’t want to dry. I put the bags and tour pack back on the motorcycle and now have the wind screen in the 5th wheel to clean and polish. When the sun hits the wind screen you can see real fine scratches and I am going to try and polish them out. I also had to go and pay rent as we have used up our seven months that we paid for back in November. We didn’t think we would be here this summer; need to take care of Grandma, so no traveling this year. It would be nice to get away for a short trip but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. Cheri has finished her table cloth quilt project. I will try to get a picture to post tomorrow. We got a hard rain around 3:30 pm, Cheri was wondering if the ladies were going to go for the exercise class at 6:00 pm. I said you are going to get wet anyway and I just got the look. Well the rain stopped and they went.

I don’t know who wrote the following but I think it is a good lesson and wanted to pass it on to everyone.

Noah's Ark: Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark.
ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

It was another hot muggy day in the neighborhood. Not the kind of day that we wanted to be out in. Hey it’s Sunday and we should be resting and that is what we did. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. Pastor Dean had a great message on how to pray. He brought out a lot of points that I had never thought of before. After Church we went out for lunch with Ron and Sandy. We went to Bob Evan’s and boy was it ever good. It has been months since we were last there; don’t know why we haven’t been back sooner. Ron and Sandy were on their way to IKEA. One of these days we would like to get there but no real reason because when you live in a 5th wheel there is no room to buy anything. What little space we have is filled with material for quilt making. When we got home Cheri and I played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that I won. We had played two games of SOB yesterday and Cheri had won both of them. Then it was time to sit down and watch the NASCAR race that I was recording and Cheri worked on her quilt project.

What do you mean its June already, not ready for May to be done; slow the clock down it’s going too fast. That is the way I feel most days anymore. It was four degrees warmer this morning than it was yesterday and I decided to go ahead and bit the bullet and do some waxing on the 5th wheel. I did get the back done but it was almost too much for me. It was near 11:00 am by the time I was done and I do mean down because I wasn’t worth anything the rest of the day. Cheri continues to improve a little each day which is good news. She did a load of laundry and helped me hang it out and she is doing more walking. In fact we went up to Dade City this afternoon to see the car show. I was a little disappointed, there weren’t very many cars. Cheri counted and thought there were about 55 cars, usually there are around 200 cars. But we have never been here in the summer so that may be the norm because I do know several of the cars are from the northern states in the winter. This evening we picked up Grandma and went to Dade City to eat with a group from the park. There were 21 of us and had a good time. We got home just as it started to rain, it was raining so hard that Cheri and I couldn’t hear the TV and that went on for over an hour. I won’t have to do any lawn watering for a few days.

It was a nice cool 69 degree morning and just what I needed to do some waxing on the 5th wheel, and then I remembered that I had to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. This afternoon I mowed the lawn as the rain and hot weather has made it grow really fast. I just got done with the weed whip and was putting it away when we got a little rain shower. I also finished cleaning and polishing the saddle bags on the motorcycle. I still need to detail the rest of the bike, shouldn’t be too bad has I haven’t done all that much riding since the last time I gave it a good cleaning. Then it was time for another shower as I was dirty and sweaty from the lawn mowing, after that I decided I was done for the day. Cheri is working on her quilt project, she is doing the quilting part and is having quite the time getting it the way she wants it. I don’t think she got as much done as she wanted today. I can really see progress in Cheri with her leg as today she is walking much better in fact we walked this evening down to Mike and Mary’s to visit and then over to Norm and Marlene’s and back home.
