It
was48 degrees this morning much better then yesterday, hopefully better weather
is on the way. Cheri was back early from
her pool exercise as she said the water was too cold; don’t think they had the
pool heater working. I had a motorcycle ride planned for the day and was hoping
for the temp to climb before we left and it did as it was up to 61 when we left
at 10:00 am. There were six of us on the ride. Our destination was the Harley
dealer in Clermont. We made our usual stop at McDonalds before we stopped at
the Harley dealer. We rode 121 miles and got home around 3:00 pm. Cheri, Nikki,
and Denise went black Friday shopping (they should call it red Friday because
when you get home your pocket book is in the red). They got home about ten
minutes after Larry and I got here. It was time for supper and Nikki had made a
cherry pie this morning. Cheri and Nikki made turkey and dumping with fresh
baked biscuits. I went and picked up Grandma and brought her over to our place
for supper. At 6:00 pm we all loaded into the van and headed for Wiregrass
Shops to see the Christmas tree lighting. On the way home we drove by a house
on the south side of Zephyrhills to see all the lights that they have up. We dropped
off Larry and Denise and then Grandma and were home by around 8:30 pm. We
watched a little TV and called it a night.

Happy
Thanks Giving to all you turkey lovers. I didn’t get up until 7:00 am and it
was 35 degrees out, it is hard to get up when you can see what the temp is
outside before you get out of bed. You know up north in the winter how hard it
is to get a car started and going in the winter, well that was how my body
reacted this morning. I went out to get the morning paper and just about
strained my back as it was packed full of Black Friday ads. Cheri and Nikki
spent the morning going through all the ads. We picked up Grandma at 10:45 am
and headed to Golden Corral where we met Mike, Mary, Larry, and Denise for our
Thanks Giving diner. We had to wait about 15 minutes in line as the place was
already full of people as they had opened at 10:00 am. By the time we were done
eating the line of people waiting to get in was wrapped around the building in
the parking lot and no vacant places to park. When we got home Cheri did her
weekly laundry and Grandma, Nikki and I watched the Green Bay Packers football
game. Only thing was the Packers forgot to show up, it was the worst game I have
seen them play in years. Cheri had put a turkey breast in the crock pot this
morning so we had turkey sandwiches with gravy for supper. I took Grandma home
around 6:00 pm. It was a nice day to spend with family and friends and stay
inside as the high temp for the day was 60 degrees.

I
got up at 6:00 am and then went back to bed until 7:00 am. I had one of those
days that I didn’t feel like doing anything. I think the weather had something
to do with it. I checked the rain gage and we got ½ inch of rain during the
night. The high for the day was 64 degrees and that was when I got up this
morning. After Cheri got home from her pool exercise she and Nikki headed out
shopping for the day. I did go out and hung the four foot lighted Christmas reef
and another small reef on the front door. It was near 4:00 pm when Cheri and
Nikki got home. We had an early supper and then we played a game of Hand, Knee
and Foot that Cheri won. Cheri and Nikki started doing more decorating for Christmas;
they also worked on the Christmas tree. It seems strange to have all the
decoration as we didn’t do much the last eight years while we were RVing. Mike
L and I had security this evening and he picked me up at 9:00 pm. It was 41
degrees and a stiff wind when we started. After an hour and a half we called it
as there wasn’t anyone out and about, and we were really cold. When I got home
Cheri and Nikki were just finishing decorating the Christmas tree. I was ready
for bed and needed to get warmed up.

It
was a cloudy all day and some rain this morning. After Cheri got home from her pool
exercise we headed out to the flea market here in Zephyrhills. We got rained
out but not many vendors, not sure if was because of the rain or that it is
early in the season for this flea market. Then we went and delivered some
storage tubs to Norm and Marlene. Then we picked up Grandma to take her for a
ride with us to pick up Cheri’s quilt from the quilter. Then we headed to Plant
City and stopped at Parkesdale Farm Market. This is the place that through the
winter has the great strawberry shortcake. We did have strawberries and ice
cream. Then we headed to Ron and Sandy’s to pick up the Christmas tree that
they gave us (thanks Ron & Sandy). Then it was back to Grandma’s to play a
game of cards. It was near 4:00 pm before we got home. So I spent most of the
day being a chauffeur. Cheri and Nikki started putting together an egg bake for
supper and I put the new Christmas tree together. About that time Larry and
Denise stopped by to return the step ladder he was using to fix their refrigerator.
They stayed and visited for a while. This evening we watched Dancing with the
Stars. Cheri was very excited and happy with the results. It was raining when
we went to bed and we also had a tornado watch this evening.

Nikki
got a chance to sleep in this morning. We had her up early the last couple of
days and she said that she was on vacation and should be able to sleep in.
Cheri cut her exercise class short this morning because she had a dentist
appointment at 10:00 am. She dropped Nikki off at Grandma’s to visit with her. I
also had a dentist appointment at 11:00 am. I got there before Cheri got done
and I was waiting for my appointment when she came out. She had lost a filling
last Friday and they told her she needed a crown and could start on it right
away. So that worked out as she got done getting a temp crown shortly after I was
done. While I was waiting my cousin Rick came in, he had an appointment to have
a permanent bridge put in. I had ordered a Papa John’s pizza to be delivered at
Grandma’s at 12:30 pm. Papa John’s called 12:20 pm to tell me that it would be
about ten minutes late and were true to their word. Grandma had made a cherry
pie to have after the pizza. We played a game of cards and then headed home. I
needed to work on the van. I took the brake light switch out of the van and
couldn’t find anything wrong with it but decided to get a new one anyway. So hopefully
that problem is fixed. Nikki helped Cheri decorate for Christmas. Larry and
Denise came over, Larry was going to help me work on the van, we checked out
the front end trying to find out where the vibration was coming from, I think
it is a universal joint going bad. I guess I will take it in next week and find
out what to do, I hate to put any more money in it as it is starting to be a
money pit but don’t have the funds to replace it. I need to have a long talk
with God about it. We watched Dancing with the Stars and Cheri was finally
happy about the results.

We
took Nikki and Grandma to church with us this morning. Pastor Dean had a good
message on turning to God and how our church helps. After church there were eight
of us that went to Olive Garden for lunch. We had a nice place to sit away from
everybody so it was easy to visit. I was telling Ron that Cheri wanted to buy a
Christmas tree and that we had to stop at Michaels to check out one that was on
sale. Well it wasn’t what she wanted so we headed for home. When we got to
Grandma’s we were going to play cards. First I wanted to go down by Bud’s to
see his new motorcycle. On the way down Marlene flagged me down and wanted to
visit. I visited for a bit and told her that I was on my way down to Bud’s and
when we got done playing cards with Grandma we would stop for a visit. Bud’s
new bike is really nice, a 2008 Harley Fat Boy. When I got back to Grandma’s
they were already playing cards. Later we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s to
visit. Then home so I could watch the Green Bay Packers which I had recorded.
Cheri and Nikki were looking at recipes and making a list of things they
needed. Cheri got a call from Sandy telling her that she and Ron had a new Christmas
tree that was still in the box and that we could have it, how nice is that,
Thanks Ron and Sandy. After supper we picked up Larry and Denise at 6:30 pm and
headed to Lakeland Sam’s Club as they were having a special opening for VIP
members. I couldn’t believe the mob of people waiting to get in. I was ready to
turn around and head for home, but we waited and the line moved quickly and
wasn’t that bad. We got a deal on a couple of things. The best deals were on
electronics which we didn’t need. We were back home by 8:30 pm. I watched the
rest of the Packer game in the bedroom while Cheri and Nikki watched a movie in
the living room. It was a cool breezy day in the neighbor hood.

We
met Mike and Pam for breakfast at the Village Inn at 8:00 am. They wanted to
meet Nikki and this morning was the only time we could get together because
they are leaving for Tennessee to be with their daughter and grandson for
Thanks Giving. After breakfast they followed us back to our park to shop the
Christmas Bazaar that was going on in the Club House. We said our goodbyes to
Mike and Pam. Then we picked up Mary L and the four of us headed to Treasure
Island to see the sand sculptures and visit all the vendors that where there.
Then it was time to walk the beach and get our feet wet. When we got back to
the car the battery was dead, the brake lights was stuck on again and had to
get jumped (yes I will it fixed tomorrow). We drove north along the Gulf and
stopped at John’s Pass so the girls could shop. I stayed in the van letting it
run to charge the battery. I had a nice parking spot in the shade so I stayed
cool without having to run the air conditioner. Then it was time to continue
north and find a place to eat. Pam told us about the Sea Breeze restaurant, so
that was where we stopped to eat. We had a wonderful meal and sat inside right
by a big picture window so we could see the water. Thanks Pam for telling us
about the Sea Breeze. We asked the waiter where we could get to the beach to
watch the sunset and he told us to go north a few blocks and we would see a
place where we could park and get to the beach. We found it without and trouble
and only had to wait for about 45 minutes for the sun to set. I wasn’t looking
forward to all the traffic to get home but it wasn’t bad and moved right along,
was home by 7:30 pm. God blessed us with the most beautiful day for our outing.

Larry
and Denise came over first thing this morning to put a few things in our
freezer as their refrigerator quit working. Larry was going to install a new
one but in order to get the old one out and a new one in you have to remove a
window in their motor home to get it out. So he is going to look for parts and
see if he can repair it. As soon as Cheri got home from her pool exercises we
headed to the Tampa airport to pick up Nikki (our daughter). She is going to
spend a week with us. Her plane was an hour late getting out of Milwaukee
because of the snow and ice. It was almost 1:00 pm before we got home. We had a
late lunch and then went over to spend the afternoon with Grandma. We played a
couple of games of cards and then went out for supper at Maine-ly New England.
We had the Friday night fish and Cheri had a coupon that saved us twelve
dollars on the meal. We did have to wait about 45 minutes as they were really
busy. You sure can tell the snow birds are back. We dropped Grandma off and
headed home. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

Cheri
put in a bad night and got up and did a lot of cleaning and then went back to
bed. She said that she couldn’t get her mine to shut down. Larry came over
early to help finish building the shelves. Cheri started laundry before she
went to the pool and did two more loads after she got home. Then she went and
picked up Denise and Grandma to go to Wal-Mart to get groceries. It was around
12:30 pm when they got home. Cheri and Denise got lunch ready and Larry and I
were ready for a break. After lunch it was back to work on the shelving. We finished
around 2:00 pm. I now have 30 feet of 24 inch deep shelves, 12 feet of 16 inch
deep, and 9 feet of 12 inch deep shelves, a big thank you to Larry for all his
help as I couldn’t have done it without him. Larry even helped me put some of
the things on the shelves that were sitting outside. My next project in the
shed is to paint all the shelving. After Larry and Denise left I spent more
time organizing some of the stuff in the shed. I also put a new air cleaner on
the motorcycle. It is a new style so the motor will get more air and is a match
to the new mufflers I put on (more power). Neither Cheri nor I were hungry this
evening so we just had an egg sandwich for supper. We tried to watch some TV,
Cheri fall asleep right away and I had trouble staying awake so we headed to
bed early.

Today
was supposed to be a play day as I had a motorcycle ride planned but the
weather didn’t cooperate as there were rain showers in the area. So I canceled
the ride and asked Larry if he would help me build more shelves for the shed.
Cheri and Denise went to Plant City shopping and I know they made a stop at the
quilt shop. When the four of us looked at that house yesterday I saw how the
guy had build shelves in his shed. I thought it was a great idea and so today
Larry and I went to Lowe’s to get more building materials. Cheri and Denise got
home around 1:30 pm so we took a break to have lunch. Then Cheri and Denise
were out looking at houses here in the park. Larry and I continued to build
shelves. At 5:00 pm we made another trip to Lowe’s for some additional
materials. It was near 6:00 pm when we got back and being it was dark out we
called it a day. We talked about going out for supper but Larry and I were too
tired to go. Cheri and I had a sandwich for supper. Mike and Pam stopped by and
dropped off some birthday cake from their grandsons birthday, so we each a big piece
of cake while watching TV.

Larry
and I had planned on going for a motorcycle ride today, but the weather didn’t
look that good this morning. I really needed to get the big shelf in the shed
built and the electric done. So when Larry and Denise came I asked Larry to
help me in the shed. We got a good start and soon it was time for lunch. We had
a sandwich and then back to work. Every Tuesday Cheri has the ladies over for a
quilt gathering. Marlene couldn’t make it today so it was just Mary and Denise.
Larry and I got done with the shed around 3:00 pm. Larry had a headlight burned
out in his truck so we got the old one out and took the motorcycles to get a
new one. It turned out to be a big job as Larry had to remove the battery to
get the new light bulb in. When we were finishing up the shed work a guy came
along and wanted to know about Larry’s motorcycle lift he has in his truck.
While they were talking the guy was telling him about a place that was for sale
here in the park. So Larry, Denise, Cheri and I went to look at it. It was
really nice and for a good price but not big enough for Larry and Denise. Larry
and Denise had us over for a spaghetti supper. Denise had homemade spaghetti sauce
that she made this morning and had simmering in the crock pot all day, sure was
good. We play one game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Larry and I won. This card
playing is getting to be a real competition. So much so that Cheri and Denise
took our chairs the last time we play at our place to see if it would help them
win and they did win.

We
got an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go to see
the sand sculptures at Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. I check it out on the
computer and e-mailed Larry and Denise and said that we wanted to go and that
we would pick them up at 10:00 am. So after Cheri got home from her pool exercises
we headed out. We enjoyed the ride down and the sand sculptures were beautiful.
I knew the Red Barn Flea market was some place in the area we were in so I
asked for directions to it. Well when we got there it wasn’t open, it is only
open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so we headed on home. We dropped Larry and
Denise off at their place and told them to come over for supper that we would
have the left over hamburgers from Saturday and I would also do some hot dogs
on the grill. Mike G and Pam came over to get the bedroom set that we gave them
for their daughter. After supper we played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that
That Denise and Cheri won, they beat Larry and me really bad. After Larry and
Denise left we settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars, once again Cheri was
really disappointed with the results. To see pictures of the sand sculptures

After
having nasty weather the last few days it is nice to see a sunny day with no
wind. Grandma went to church with us this morning. Pastor Mel delivered a very
powerful message, wish I could have it to read so I could get more out of it.
After church six of us went to Bob Evan’s for lunch. After lunch Cheri went
shopping with Sandy and I took Grandma home. After I dropped off Grandma I
stopped to visit with Ed and Loraine as they were sitting outside. My afternoon
and early evening was filled with the NASCAR race and football. Cheri came home
with several Christmas decorations.

It
was wet drizzling day, one of those days that you don’t feel like doing
anything (work). It rained all night and I didn’t see any need to get up early
so I stayed in bed until 7:00 am again. Later this morning Cheri asked me if I wanted
to go to Sam’s today and to e-mail Larry and Denise to see if they wanted to go
along. They did so we picked them up and headed for Sam’s. It was around noon
when we got there and I think Cheri had anterior motive, we got to taste a lot
of different foods and that must have been our lunch. We dropped Larry and
Denise off at their place to get their truck and then they were stopping at the
grocery store to pick up some buns and a salad and then come to our place to
play cards. We played one game of Hand, Knee and Foot and then took a break to
grill some hamburgers to go along with the salad Larry and Denise brought.
After supper it was time for more card playing. We played two more games of
Hand, Knee and Foot. Larry and I won all three games. Yes Denise I have to put
it in the blog that we guys won.

I
didn’t get up until 7:00 am, put in a bad night and didn’t have to be anywhere
this morning. Cheri headed to her pool exercise class at 8:15 am and when she
got home I still hadn’t taken my shower and gotten dressed. It was near 10:00
am before I was ready to meet the rest of the world for the day. Cheri on the
other hand continues to work in the house doing cleaning, laundry other things.
Mike B picked me up at 12:30 pm and we went to the big car auction and swap
meet at the Zephyrhills Festival Grounds. We walked through all the cars that
were for sale by owner and then through all the vendors. We also went into the
auction yard to see the cars that were going through the auction, a lot of very
nice cars and it would have been easy to pick out several that I would be happy
with. Mike B and I got a chance to talk and shake hands with Cindy Williams
from the Lavern & Shirley TV show. Who would ever believe we would meet someone
like that a car show. It started to drizzle rain so we called it a day, we did
get to see most of everything. While we were at the car show I got a call from
Larry and Denise telling us that they were here for the winter. So when I got
home I called him back and Larry told us where they were staying and we headed
over to see them. Good to have my riding partner back and Cheri to her quilting
partner. After visiting for a while we headed to Del Caren Mexican restaurant in
Dade City. Then we came back to our place so we could show them our new home
and to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Larry and I won. It was still
raining when we went to bed.

It
was 47 degrees and windy this morning, cold inside the house. I started the furnace
for the first time and didn’t know if it would work or not as I didn’t check it
before we bought the house (stupid me). Will it works just fine and it warmed up
the house in a short time. Mary L called this morning and said that there
wouldn’t be any pool exercise as Mary L has a doctor appointment. I think Cheri
was happy that she didn’t have to go out in the cold but unhappy that she was
not having the exercise. Cheri did some laundry and cleaning. I did some honey
do things in the house (think I am just about honeyed out). This afternoon I made
a trip to Lowe’s to get the materials I need to build the shelves in the shed.
Ron called me and asked me to pick him up at home and take him to get his
corvette as they have the work done and it looks like new. This evening we were
invited over to David and Renea Harris to see their new home. We met them
through the church. It was a nice evening visiting and we also met another
couple from church. When we got home we watched a little TV and called it a
night. It was a day of a little work and more of being lazy.

It
was only 56 degrees this morning and very windy making it cold out. I had a
motorcycle ride planned for today, but too cold and windy to enjoy a ride. Mike
T called me this morning and wanted to know about the ride and I told him that
it was canceled and we would go next Wednesday. With the van being in the
repair shop I got the motorcycle out to take Cheri down to the pool. Well while
I was getting it out my footing slipped and I once again drop the bike, that
make twice in the last few days and all the years I have been riding it has
only happened once before. I dropped Cheri off at the pool and road over to
Baker Acers to tell John and Butch there wouldn’t be any ride today. On the way
back I stopped and gave Cheri a ride home. The rest of the morning was spent
inside cleaning up some paper work and watching some TV. Cheri disappeared into
her sewing room. After lunch I called to see if the van was done and it was so
I had them come and pick me up, ya we have transportation again. Last night
Cheri couldn’t get the screen on her I-Pad unlocked. She handed it to me and I
couldn’t get it unlocked either. So this afternoon we took a ride down to
Brandon and stopped at the Apple Store. We felt pretty stupid as the guy gave the
screen three taps and it was ready to put in the pass code. Somehow Cheri had
change the setting on the screen lock without knowing it. So we got that
feature turned off so it doesn’t happen again. We did a little shopping in the
Mall and I bought a new Bible. I had been looking a long time for one like what
Cheri has, NIV with red lettering and large print. After shopping we stopped at
Olive Garden for supper, we split a meal and we both had all we wanted to eat.
We had an appointment at Direct Buy to see what they have to offer and after
listening to them and looking at the prices of things we decided to get a
membership. It is pricey but with everything we plan on doing in the house we
feel we will save a lot of money in the end. It was near 10:00 am by the time
we got home and were ready for bed.

Mike
G came and picked me up to go out for breakfast. We dropped Cheri off at the
pool as the van is in the repair shop. Mike G and I met Ron at the auto body
shop as he is having some touch up work done on his Corvette. Then the three of
us stopped at Rick’s for breakfast, good meal for the price. We had a nice
visit and then we took Ron home. Mike G and I went to his place as Mike G
wanted me to drive his van. At times when you are driving it goes into a shimmy
and doesn’t do it all the time. I think it is something with the transaxle but
not sure. He does need to have the brakes replaced. When I got home I checked
on Cheri and she was busy cleaning house, she has Marlene and Mary L coming
over to do some quilting this afternoon. I worked on the power washer; I took
it apart and cleaned everything in the pump. After I got it back together it
leaked. So I took it apart again and while I had it apart Norm and Marlene
came. So Norm watched me put it together again and it still leaked. I took it
apart one more time and Norm looked at it and I had put it together wrong. Long
story short, it is back together and works great but still has a little leak
which is because of the rubber seals. Mike L showed up and we guys had a nice
visit while the ladies were doing their quilting. The van was supposed to be
done today and I called him at 4:30 pm and he said it wouldn’t be ready until
tomorrow. We had a Life Group gathering this evening so I called and told them
we couldn’t make it.

I
pray that everyone said a prayer for or veterans and service men and women
today, if not than take time now and do it as it helps our country to be free.
Plus add them to your daily prayer list. Today was one of those days that you
like to forget. It started when I got up this morning, I couldn’t seem to get
my motor started. My first project was to fix the shelf in the shed that came
down due to having too much weight on it. I got it back up temporary and need
to get some new hangers for it (no it wasn’t one that I built). Then I cleaned
the windshield and the bugs off the front of the motorcycle, while I was
pushing it back into the barn the kick stand went up and I ended up dropping
the bike. I had to get Cheri to help me get it back up. Then I checked the van
and see it is still leaking oil and while trying to check and see where it was
leaking from I found all the wires that go to the injectors had been cut and
splice back together. One of the wires broke and I had a hard time trying to
get reconnected. I had a lot of work done on the van a couple of years ago and
that had to be when it was done, another reason why I don’t go to that place
for repairs anymore. I took Grandma for her 1:25 pm doctor’s appointment and
she got a got report. After I dropped her off I headed to the repair shop to
get the van fixed. It was leaking oil from the valve cover gasket had was
replaced last Friday. Apparently the gasket didn’t get seated correctly. I know
that it something that can happen as I have changed them myself and know it is
a tough job. They gave me a ride home and said they would come and get me when
it was done. When I got home I decide to do some power washing on the driveway.
I had a problem with the power washer the other day and thought it was the
circuit breaker on the cord. Well it turns out to be something in the power
washer, so much for power washing the driveway. I think God was testing me today;
I did get a little depressed but never lost my temper. I didn’t see much of
Cheri today as she spent most of the day in her sewing room working on a new
quilt project with music playing, I could see she was enjoying herself. On a
good note, this evening we went out to eat with Mike and Pam at Manolos
Ristorante, another good meal. After we eat we came back to our place to play a
game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Pam and Cheri won as Mike and I couldn’t seem to
get the cards. Yes it is Monday night and Cheri had to watch Dancing with the
Stars and if you have been watching you know Cheri was upset with the
results.

After Church seven of us went out for lunch at the Village Inn. It has been a
long time since we have been there for a meal and it was really good. We did go
a lot over the last year but it was only on Wednesday night for their free pie.
After we dropped off Grandma we took a ride around Baker Acers to see who all
has arrived from the north. Then we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a short visit.
When we got home we had just enough time to change our clothes and head to the
theater to meet Mike and Pam to see the movie Last Vegas. It was a very good
movie, usually movies that are this funny don’t have a good story line but that
wasn’t the case with this movie. If you need a good laugh go and see this
movie. It was near 4:00 pm when Cheri and I got home. I
recorded the Green Bay Packer football game and the NASCAR race. I did watch
all of the football game and it was a disappointing lost for the Packers. As
for the race I just watched the highlights of it. Cheri watched some of the
game and played solitaire on her I-Pad. Pam called to tell us about the JFK
movie and high lights leading up to his death that was on TV, so I set up the
recorder to record it. By 9:00 pm we were both having a hard time staying awake
to watch TV so we called it a night.

Cheri
and I went out to Golden Corral for breakfast; I think it is getting to be a
Saturday morning habit. From there we went to Winn Dixie’s for groceries. They
had a lot of buy one get one free, some are good buys but some were not when
you check the price at other stores, but we did come away with what we thought
was good buys. We were surprised how few people were out shopping this morning.
When we got home Cheri had some more honey do jobs for me. This afternoon Cheri
and I went for a motorcycle ride. It is the first time she has been on the
motorcycle since March. She is still having problems with her knee but decided
to take a ride. I can’t figure it out for some reason when Cheri is on the bike
it goes to different places like quilt shops. We rode up to Dade City to the
quilt shop as Cheri was looking for material for a sweat shirt project. She
didn’t fine what she wanted there so we rode down to Plant City where she found
the material she wanted plus extra for whatever else she may do. When we got
home it was time for me to watch the Wisconsin Badgers football that I had
recorded. Part way through the game I got a call from Mike L and he need help
to get a 55 gallon fish tank. It was about all we could handle but did get it
in the truck and then into their house. Then it was back to watching my foot
ball game. It was a grand day that God provided for us.

After
Cheri got home from the pool she worked on cleaning the house and doing
laundry. She had a couple more honey do jobs for me. Late yesterday the new windshield
for the motorcycle came. So today I spent all morning getting the hardware off
of the old one and getting all the adhesive tape off it. This afternoon Bud and
Joyce came over to see our house and to visit. They were just ready to leave
when I got a call that the Van was done so Bud and Joyce gave us a ride over to
pick it up. I dropped Cheri off at home and I headed over to pick up Grandma
and take her to Wal-Mart to have her hair cut. She had to wait a long time to
get in. I went and filled the van with gas and came back and she was still
waiting. So I did some shopping in Wal-Mart, just nosing around not planning on
buying anything. But I did find the NinJa Master Prep that was $30 cheaper than
anywhere else I have looked. Our daughter Nikki has one and she loves it. It
works like a blender and a food chopper. So I bought it and took it out to the
van and when I came back in and checked on Grandma she was still waiting. So I
did some more looking around. It was near 5:00 pm before I got Grandma back
home. When I got home I ordered a pizza from Papa John’s for delivery as we had
an internet coupon and today was the last day to use it. After supper I finished
putting the hardware on the new windshield and now ready to put back on the
motorcycle.

Cheri
and I both felt better today and more like getting some work done. The first
thing this morning I had to have the van over to the repair shop at 8:00 am to
get the oil leak fixed. Our neighbor Mike picked me up and brought me home. They
are going to call when the van is done. Cheri left for her pool exercise just
has I got home, our neighbor Mary gave her a ride in their golf cart to the
pool. Cheri had a list of honey do jobs for me to do today. I also got the rain
gutters cleaned out; I need to do that more often now that the leaves are
falling from our big oak tree. I took the motorcycle and made a trip to Lowe’s
to get some screws, the face trim on the front of the house is loose. A piece
of it came down the other day in the wind and just got it back up temporary, so
now that project is done. Next I started power washing the driveway and after
about 45 minutes the power washer quit. I think the problem is the circuit breaker
on the power cord, had enough for the day so will check it out tomorrow. Cheri
spent most of the day in the sewing room rearranging things, think she needs
more storage cabinets or get rid of some stuff (I wonder which it will be).
Tonight was pizza night at the Club House; we sat with Mike and Mary and after
we eat the four of us went over to Baker Acers to visit with Norm and Marlene.
We never got a call from the repair shop; I thought the van would be done
today.

Today
was a play day for me, not so much for Cheri. Four of us left at 10:00 am for
our first weekly motorcycle ride. Two of the guys (Mike and Norm) are new to
our rides. We were just getting ready to leave the park when this guy (Norm)
rides into the park and turns around and comes over by us. He is new to the
park and we asked him if he wanted to ride with us, so he went and told his
wife he was going on a ride. I lead the group through the back roads to Crystal
River with the Harley dealer being our destination. We got a few questions
answered about different things that we can do to our motorcycles. We stopped
at McDonald’s for lunch; some things never change on our rides. We got home
around 3:00 pm and put on 138 miles, it was a perfect day for a ride. Cheri did
her pool exercise and took Grandma Grocery shopping as Cheri also needed to get
groceries. That was pretty much taken care of her day. We got an e-mail from
Larry and Denise wanting us to see if a site in Baker Acers was available for
them so after I got home I went over to see if the site was available but there
was a sign in the window of the office saying they were gone to the bank. As it
turned out it was a good thing because we got a call from Larry and Denise
telling us they got a site in a different park and will be leaving Ontario next
Tuesday or Wednesday.

Cheri
and I both were low on energy today and couldn’t make up our minds what we were
going to do. When Cheri got home from the pool I went to the bank to make a
deposit that I should have done a few days ago. When I got home I moved a few
things out of the shed so we could move around. I had plans on going to get
materials to build the shelves. When I came in for lunch Cheri was rearranging
a few things. I told her that I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything and she
said that she felt the same way. After lunch we decided to shuck the work and
go and see a movie. We went to the 1:30 showing of Captain Phillips. It was a
very good movie with some great acting and a true story. This evening was our
Life Group gathering and it was very interesting and had a nice turn out for
it.

I
was up before 4:00 am still having a hard time sleeping. Shortly after Cheri
left for her pool exercise I went out and moved things out and back to the
front of the carport so I could clean the floor. After starting I decided that I
should clean the siding and ceiling, bigger job than I first planed on doing. I
quit at 10:30 am so I could take Grandma for her B-12 shot which didn’t take too
long. After dropping off Grandma I stopped by Bud and Joyce’s to pick up our
lawn mower and visited with them. I see John coming down the street so I stopped
him and told him I have a motorcycle ride planned for Wednesday; he was excited
and ready to start our weekly rides. I stopped by Butche’s to welcome him back
from the north and tell him about the Wednesday ride. He just got in yesterday
and had bought a new place in Baker Acers. He has a lot of cleaning to do and
said that if he wasn’t at the starting point for the ride not to wait for him.
It was late by the time I got home and Cheri waited to have lunch with me.
Cheri had hung some more pictures and was busy putting things away in the
sewing room that she had unpacked. She had just finished vacuuming and washing
all the floors. After lunch I went back out and put things back in the carport
and moved the bike barn closer to the front of the carport so it hide the many
things I have stacked outside. I don’t have room for them in the shed until I
get the shelving built and put in. Before I put the motorcycle in the barn I took
it for a ride to fill up with gas and have it ready for the Wednesday ride. It was
my first ride with the new mufflers and I like the sound of them. I hung up
Cheri’s big cross cut saw in the sewing room for her and then I sat down with
the clock and after some work I got it to clime right with the time. It took me
a while to figure it out. When I change the time it for standard time I just
backed it up an hour. After reading the instructions it says that is a no no
but I did finally get it back in sink. We watched Dancing with the Stars and
Cheri said the wrong person got voted off and I had to agree with her. I
recorded the Packer game so we could watch Dancing with the Stars. So after
that was over I settled in to watch the Packers play, not a good game for the
packers as they lost.

The
extra hours sleep didn’t help as I was up early; probably will take a few days
to get into sleeping an hour later. Grandma went to church with us and Pastor Dean
had another interesting message. We didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone after
church as everyone left right away. So it was just Grandma, Cheri and me. We
went to Next Door in Zephyrhills for lunch. After we dropped off Grandma we
stopped and visited with Norm and Marlene as they were sitting outside. When we
got home I changed clothes and sat down in the recliner, covered up with a
blanket and that is where I stayed the rest of the day. I tried to watch some
TV but slept most of the afternoon. Cheri continued working out in the sun room
sorting through books and trying to find a place to put them. When I changed the time on the clock last
night I must have done something wrong as the hour chime is off by four hours,
something to check out tomorrow.

I
got up to a rainy morning, it rained all morning and part of the afternoon, I
checked the rain gage and we got a 1 ¼ inches of rain for the day. When Cheri
came out this morning she asked me if I wanted to go out for breakfast, I had
thought about it before she got up. We headed to Golden Corral as they have the
best breakfast with so many different choices. Then we headed to Lakeland and I
dropped Cheri off at Beall’s which is right next to Joan Fabrics to shop. I
headed to the Harley dealer for the performance work shop I signed up for last
week. The plan had been to ride the motorcycle but the rain put a stop to that.
When I got back to Joan Fabrics I called Cheri and she said that she just got
done shopping, great timing. When we got home Cheri had a lot of pictures for
me put up that had been in storage, later while I was out in the shed I could
hear some hammering coming from the house, when I got back inside Cheri had
already made a change to some of the pictures. My neighbor called and asked me
if I would come over to help him install some wind deflectors on his
motorcycle. He had to move the signal lights to make them fit and wanted some
help with the project. He had wanted to do it without cutting the wires but
that wasn’t possible. I went back to my place and got him some heat shrink and
my heat gun for him to use. We had brats for supper and Cheri did them in the
oven under the broiler and you would have thought they were done on the grill. We
are looking forward to the extra hour of sleep tonight.

Today
was a fun filled relaxing day. We went on a road trip with Norm & Marlene,
Mike & Mary to Brooksville for a quilt show. It was held at the Quarry Golf
Course. Mike and Norm waited in the van while I went into the show with the
ladies. We got to see a lot of nice quilts and many that I know Cheri could
have done a better job making them. We got to see some interesting products
that would make cutting material much easier. They gave us a nice demonstration
on how everything worked. I was very interested until I found out the price was
only $5200. After the show we stopped at Mallie Kyla’s restaurant for lunch. I
found it on the internet and it is rated number 3 out of 99 in Brookville. It
has 2 or 3 rooms of things that are for sale and the food was really good. We
did have to wait a few minutes before we got seated but it was worth the wait.
After finding them on the internet I see that they also have restaurant in Dade
City. I haven’t been there but Cheri said she has and it was very good. We took
the scenic route home and were home around 2:30 pm. I had an e-mail from
Grandma telling me she couldn’t find anyone to take her for her B-12 shot on Monday.
So I called and change the appointment to have the van fixed so I can take her
for her appointment. She also said that her phone wasn’t working so we went
over to see her and I fixed the phone so it works now and she told me that
there was a vine growing across the back door, so I went out and removed it. We
took her trash up to the dumpster and then stopped to see Betty as she arrived
from the north on Sunday. We just got there when Rick and Janis showed up, so
we got to have a nice visit with them also. Mike and I had security watch in
the park this evening, nothing exciting happened.

I
hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. The ghost and goblins stayed away from
Cheri and me today. God blessed us with many things today. I took the van in to
be checked out as it has an oil leak. I was sure it would cost around $500 to
get it fixed. Well it turns out that it is going to cost around $200 to fix it
and I have an appointment to have it repaired on Monday (a blessing). I had
checked the oil in the van this morning and the end of the dip stick broke off.
On the way home from the repair shop I stopped at the salvage yard and they had
a replacement for $10 (a blessing). Cheri continued to work in the sunroom and
unpacked the old telephones and many other things, also many more loads of
laundry from things that have been stored. Cheri has set out pictures that I
need to hang. This afternoon a guy came to check out the cargo trailer and
bought it (a blessing). I got the dining room light moved and now hangs in the
middle of the table, Cheri is very happy (a blessing for me). It was a beautiful day in the
neighbor hood (a blessing). So as you can see God blessed us many time over
today.
