It started raining shortly after I got up this morning and continued on and off all day. Because of the rain I had to change my plans for the day, was going to do more power washing on the carport roof. Grandma gave us a list yesterday of groceries she needed. So we headed out this morning to take care of that. On the way we stopped at Lowe’s and purchase a bakers rack to use as shelving in the new storage room. Mike and Pam gave me a gift certificate to Lowe’s for fixing their van door handle, so I used it toward the purchase of the bakers rack, thanks Mike and Pam. The next stop was Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s groceries along with a few things we needed. I got soaked with rain from putting the groceries in and out of the car. It was in the high 60’s so it didn’t feel too bad. On the way home we stopped at Winn Dixie as Cheri had a few things that she wanted because of the buy one and get one free. It was noon when we finally got home. After lunch we had to push ourselves to get anything done. Cheri got the all the Christmas stuff boxed up and I put it in the cabinet above the washer and dryer. It is the first time we have put anything up there and 90 percent of the Christmas stuff fit. It is nice to have most of it in one place. The tree will go in the new storage room. While Cheri was packing up stuff I got the base of the door to the new storage room done. I made a change on how I was going to do it. I found a piece of carpet that was left here and cut a piece of it to fit the opening and stapled it in place. This evening Larry and Denise came over to play cards. We played two games of Hand, Knee, and Foot. We guys won the first game and the gals won the last one. So it was another great day God blessed us with.

The weather has been warmer which means the pool water is warmer and Cheri is back to doing her pool exercise. While I was eating yesterday my temp crown came off so when Cheri got back from the pool I headed to the dentist office to get the temp put back in. After that was done I went over to Lowe’s to get the board and carpet edging for the door that goes into the new storage room. While I was there I checked on shelving for the storage room. I think I found some that will be suitable. While I was gone Cheri was busy in the kitchen preparing dinner for Betty and Grandma as we had invited them over for the day. Cheri fixed a pork pot roast with all the fixings. After dinner we played a game of domino’s which Betty and Cheri won. They were so far ahead we quit keeping score as Grandma and I had no chance of winning. After Betty and Grandma left Cheri started taking down Christmas things to put away for another year. I went out and took down the Christmas lights. Cheri put everything out in the sunroom and tomorrow we will pack it up. Later we got a call from Larry and Denise wanting to know if we wanted to ride to Lakeland with them as they had a Christmas present that didn’t work out and wanted to return it. On the way home Larry wanted to stop at Best Buy to check out some wireless headphones. When we got out of the truck to go into Best Buy Denise and Cheri said we will see you later and headed to Jo-Ann fabrics. It was around 6:00 pm when we got home. Cheri fixed us a grilled ham and cheese sandwich along with some chips. Of course we had to have some of our Christmas candy.

It was another nice day with the temp near 80 degrees, just the way I like it. We picked up Grandma at 8:45 am and headed to church. Pastor Randy e-mails me his message notes so I can print them off for Grandma then she can follow along and know what Pastor Randy is telling everyone. His message was How to be right with god! (Romans 3:21-25), very good message. Charlie also had a very good lesson today. God Ordains Restoration from (Ezra 3:1-7, 10-11, 6:19-22). It was just the three of us for lunch today, went to Sonny’s here in Zephyrhills. After we dropped off Grandma we drove over to Panera Breads and got some soup and sandwiches and took them to Mel and Jan’s as they are both down with the flue which has been going on for a week now. When we got home we settled in to watch an old movie called The Book of Esther. It was a good movie and followed the Bible much better than the one we watched a while ago called The King and Esther. After the movie it was time to watch the Packer game. It was an exciting game to watch as they played the Lions and it was for the division title. The Packer did win and now get an extra week off to get rested up for the play offs.

I got an e-mail last night from Mike next door wanting to know if I wanted to go for a motorcycle ride today. After all I did yesterday I was pretty sore and needed a day off. So that was good timing on Mike’s part. Our ride was 127 miles and took in a couple of Harley dealers. Mike’s friend Roger went with us and did a demo ride on a new Harley, I think he will be buying within the next couple of weeks. Mike had ordered a pair of boots but they didn’t fit, not sure what he is going to do now. We got back home around 4:00 pm; the weather was perfect in the mid to high 70’s. Cheri went shopping here in town, did more looking than buying, she is a good shopper. Larry had come over today to help me clean our air conditioner while I was gone riding. I didn’t call him to go on the ride because he and Denise had company staying with them. As it turned out they went to St Pete to visit other family members. Long story short Larry could have went for the ride, sorry Larry.

Well Christmas is over and time to get back to work. My project for the day was to get the roof cleaned off and the eve troves cleaned out. Things went well and I was done by 11:00 am so I got the pressure washer out and after lunch I Power washed the roof of the sunroom. It was really dirty and was actually black from all the dust and dirt over the years. This is something I have wanted to do since we moved in and decided I have put it off long enough. I was surprised how well it cleaned up, went from a dirty black to a nice bright white. Before I came off the roof I used the power washer on the eve trove on the house and now it is nice and clean and also white again. I finished at 3:00 pm and had enough for the day and was ready for a good hot shower. Cheri also had a good day get her house work and laundry done. She also got some paper work taking care of for Grandma or I should say she has paper work coming that needs to be filled out and sent in. To top the day off we sold the patio set, I did take $10 less for it but glade to have it sold. So it was a very productive day in the Sharps house. Now comes a relaxing evening of TV.

Merry Christmas to all of you and take time to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, Thank you God for sending your only son to become man and teach us and then die for our sins. Cheri and I spent a relaxing morning and quite time thinking and praying about all that God has done for us, we are so blessed. We got a call from our daughter Kari wishing us a Merry Christmas and catching up on what she has been doing. We watched an old movie on TV call The Book of Esther. This afternoon we were invited along with Grandma for dinner at Larry and Denise’s along with some of their family. Denise along with Larry’s help had a wonderful meal for us. Of course we all eat too much. Once again we are so blessed that we can have as much to eat as we want when there are so many people in the world that went without something to eat today. Thank you God.

We had company for a while this forenoon. My cousin Rick and Janis came over with Janis’s nephew Will and his wife Tiffany. Tiffany is into quilting and Will is into motorcycles. So while Cheri was showing Tiffany all of her quilts Rick, Will, and Janis where talking about motorcycles. We also gave them the house tour. After they left Cheri and I relaxed and napped into the afternoon. We did get a call from Nikki and Coz this afternoon wishing us a Merry Christmas and telling us about their Christmas. We picked up Grandma at 4:15 pm and headed to church for the 5:00 pm Christmas Eve service. After the service we took Grandma for a ride around to see all the Christmas lights. Just before we got to her place the wind came up and the rain came down in sheets. I got soaked getting Grandma into the house and her walker out of the car. When we got home I changed out of my wet clothes and Cheri fixed us a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for supper. Then it was time to get into the Christmas candy that Nikki made and sent down for us. I think I gained five pounds just looking at the candy, of course we eat more than we should, want to make sure none of it spoils. We pray for a very very Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. Take time to think about what Christmas is really about.

Cheri went to the pool this morning for her exercise, hadn’t been there for sometime because of the cold weather. It seems nice to have some warm weather after the cold snap or I should say two or three cold snaps. We are so blessed to be where we don’t have fight the really cold and snow. We were lazy this morning, with no plans we took our time getting around, even watched a little TV this forenoon. We were invited up to Mike and Pam’s for the Christmas party they were having for their family. It was so nice of them to let us be part of their family today. Pam had a lot of really good food and I did my part in trying to reduce the amount that she fixed. We had a wonderful time visiting this afternoon. Then this evening we were invited over to Larry and Denise’s to play cards. Cheri and Denise won the game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Larry and I won the game of pinochle. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends. Thank you God for all of your blessings.

It was in the 60’s this morning, not bad for the first full day of winter, my kind of winter. It was a day of appointments. Cheri took Grandma for her 10:10 am appointment because I had a dentist appointment at noon and wasn’t sure if I would have had time to take Grandma for hers. I was ready to get the motorcycle out to leave for mine when Cheri drove in. So off I went for my appointment to have the new crown put in. The crown was a good fit and everything was OK except it was the wrong color. So they put the temp back in and sent the new one back for a color change. When I got home Mike and Mary were her for a visit and to go out for lunch. We took them to DI Maffio’s That’s Amore. It was busy as they had a large party and we had to wait a while which was OK as we had a quite area where we could visit. It was near 3:00 pm when we arrived home. It was too late in the day to start anything which was OK as we didn’t feel like doing anything anyway.

This being Sunday things around the Sharp house doesn’t change much. We picked up Grandma and headed to church. Pastor Randy’s message was from the book of John 1:1, 14 & 16 “The Word Became Flesh” When we listen to Pastor Randy the time goes by so fast. Sunday school was very good as always the lesson today was God Provides a Savior (Luke 2:8-20). After church Mel & Jan, Mike & Pam, and Grandma, and Cheri & me headed back to Zephyrhills for lunch at DI Maffio’s That’s Amore, when we got there it was full and a long wait so we went to Island Breeze. I have been disappointed the last couple of times we have been there, out of things listed on the menu, time to cross them off our list of places to eat, although they do make a very good Cuban sandwich. We had a nice visit and soon it was over and time to depart for home. After we dropped Grandma off we headed to CVS to get some special Christmas candy that Pam brought us last year and this year. Well it must be real special because we didn’t find any and CVS is the only place that we have found that carries it. We also went to Walgreens to get our Blue Bell Ice cream that was on sale, also looked for the candy there with no luck. It was 3:00 pm when we got home, I settled in for the Packer game and Cheri with her I-pad. Tonight is the first night of the Church Street Walk in Dade City. The street has five churches on it and all the houses are decorated, people walking around singing Christmas carols, also other bands playing music and singing. All the churches are open with Christmas programs. We couldn’t decide if we were going or not. Then the rain came and made the decision for us. It’s too bad that it had to rain because so much work goes into the Church Street Walk, hopefully the next two nights will be rain free.

We decided to sell the patio set we have in the sunroom. It takes up so much space and we have never used it. So Cheri and I put it out in the driveway with a for sale sign on it. Now we are waiting for some lucky person to come along and buy it at a very reasonable price. I made it my project to day to finish the storage room. Things went along very well and I finished with everything except the door needs to be painted which is Cheri’s job (remember I hate painting). I also have to get a trim piece to put in the doorway and trim piece for the carpet. I am very happy with the way everything turned out. Cheri used one of the new recipes and made Zuppa Toscana soup which said was better than Olive Garden’s. We had Larry and Denise over for soup and sandwich and then played cards. And yes the soup was much better than what Olive Garden has. We played Hand, Knee, and foot that Larry and I won. Then we played pinochle which Cheri and Denise won. Then we played a game of Skip-Bow which Cheri and Denise won. After Larry and Denise left we finished watching the Amazing Race which we had recorded, was happy with who won. God helped us have another productive day and get to spend time with friends.

This morning I took Grandma for her lab appointment; there were only two people ahead of her so we didn’t have to wait long. When I got home Cheri was working with her recipes putting all the loose ones in her recipe binder, I am excited, and maybe she is going to try out a new recipe. I went to work in the sunroom and finished the detail work on the wall. I got out all of my old antique telephones. We picked out a few to hang on the new wall. This is the first time I have seen them in over ten years, been packed away since we sold our house in Wisconsin, nice to be able to display some of them. After we got the phones up we started moving things around the way Cheri wanted them, hope to get that finished tomorrow. I made a trip to Lowe’s to pick up the base molding for the storage room. I am hoping to get that done tomorrow. At 4:00 pm I told Cheri I was done for the day as my back was really hurting and needed to take a long hot shower. It was a very productive day in the sharp’s house.

I spent most of the morning cleaning up the mess I made in the sun room and storage room, also putting away all the tools that I am done using from the storage room. I still have the trim work left to do. Cheri was busy cleaning up more of the dust I made. I am sure she will be glad when I get done. Mel and Jan came over for a visit today. It is the first time they have been here so Cheri got a chance to show them through the house and all the different projects she has done. We decided we needed a down day so relaxed the rest of the afternoon. Cheri called Pam and Mike to see about having supper at Panera Breads and then come over to our place to play cards, probably the last chance to get together before Christmas. We taught Mike and Pam how to play Phase Ten. It was fun and Mike won the first game and Cheri won the second game by ten points over Pam. I was on the bottom all night. So it was a bless day to relax and spend time with friends.

It was 52 degrees this morning when I got up and another mid 70’s day. Cheri spent the day house cleaning, mostly from all the mess I made working in the new storage room. I went over to Larry and Denise’s. Larry was having trouble with the exhaust fans in the house. The fan in the microwave wasn’t exhausting and we found that the exhaust flap was stuck closed. We also removed the exhaust fan in the bathroom; Larry thought that it should work better. Well after taking it out we didn’t find anything wrong with it. We went over to Lowe’s to look at exhaust fans and found that the one he had was as good as it gets unless he wanted to put in a bigger fan and the problem with that would be trying to install a new larger exhaust vent tube. So we went back and put the old one back in. We went back to Lowe’s so I could pick up the electrical materials to finish the wiring and lighting in the new storage room. When we got to our place Cheri had Lunch waiting for Larry and me. After we got the wiring done we headed to Lakeland to see about getting the batten strips I needed to finish the paneling. I had checked in Lowe’s here in Zephyrhills and couldn’t find them. We checked Lowe’s in Lakeland and found what I needed. We stopped at Harbor Freight on the way home as I had an air hose reel to return. I dropped Larry off at his place and then home for me. It was near 4:00 pm and I had enough for the day.

Yea! The morning temp was in the mid 40’s and had another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and the high in the mid 70’s. I worked out in the sun room this morning moving things out of the way so I could start building the storage room wall. I gave Larry a call because I need to go to Lowe’s to get the materials for the wall and Larry has the truck to haul them. Denise came over with Larry and so she and Cheri headed out shopping while Larry and I went to Lowe’s. When we got back Larry help me frame up the new wall. The girls got back from shopping to fix us lunch and then headed to Wal-Mart. After lunch Larry and I continued working on the wall and by 4:30 pm the wall was up and the paneling was done on the sun room side. I still have to do the paneling, electrical, and trim work in the storage room plus trim work in the sun room. After Larry and Denise left I ready to have a hot shower which made me feel better. I really felt good about all we got done today and couldn’t have done it without Larry’s help, thanks Larry.

I was up a little after 5:00 am; no special reason just woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep, probably because it was close to my usual getting up time. It is still cold this morning another 35 degree morning but was a beautiful day with the temp in the low 70’s with lots of sunshine and no wind. My project for the day was to get the electrical rerouted so I could put the door in for the new storage room. It did take me all day but finished getting it done around 4:00 pm and was ready for a hot shower. Cheri was busy cleaning and dusting as I had made a lot of dust cutting the opening for the storage room door. She also finished another sewing room project, a pillow with a Georgia emblem that she painted on fabric to put around the pillow.

It was another cold morning with a temp of 34 degrees but turned to a nice winter day. Grandma went to church with us. Pastor Randy’s message was a good one, The Grace of Christmas—Philippians 2:6-8. We didn’t stay for Sunday school today as we had dinner with some of our old Life Group at 11:30 am. It was nice to spend some time with them and get caught up, something we need to do more often. It was near 1:30 pm when we arrived home. I turned on the TV to watch some of the Packer football game before we had to leave at 2:30 pm. Church was putting on a music and drama presentation called Christmas Makes Everything New. It was a wonderful presentation and could see that a lot of work and volunteer time went into putting it on. It was around 5:00 pm when we got home and time to watch the rest of the football game which didn’t end well as the Packers got beat. It was a wonderful day God make for us to spend with great friends and new friends we have met today, thank you God.

It was still cold this morning but not as cold as yesterday morning, although today it warmed up enough to be out this afternoon without a jacket, really seemed nice after all the cold days. This morning I asked Cheri if she wanted to go out for breakfast, got a big smile and a yes. We went to Scotland Yards in the Highlands for breakfast. From there we went to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. While we were at Grandma’s I got a call from Larry wanting to know if we wanted to go to the Big Top Flea Market, of course I said yes. So we headed home where Larry and Denise picked us up. When we got to the Big Top and just started to look around Cheri and Denise turned around and said let’s get out of here and go to the Red Barn Flea Market. So it was back in the truck and headed to Bradenton which is 60 miles further down the road. Cheri and I where there about twenty years ago with Grandpa and Grandma, It was the first flea market we had ever been to and thought it was something out of this world. Well today I was pretty disappointed; it was OK but nothing special. On the way home we stopped at Olive Garden for a late lunch and early supper. It was around 4:30 pm by the time Larry and Denise dropped us off at home. So much for getting any electrical rerouting work for the storage room, it will have to wait until Monday.

I was on the road for an appointment I had in Tampa at 7:30 am. The appointment wasn’t until 9:00 am but you never know what the traffic is going to be like. Well things went well and was there half hour early and they got me right in, was back on the road for home at 9:10 am. We had a 10:00 am Bible Study organizational meeting at which I wasn’t going to make. But because of getting in early for my appointment I got back in time to pick up Cheri as she was walking down to the Club House. The meeting went well and got a chance to get to know people better. Our leader wasn’t able to make it. We did get a time set for our Bible Study to be on Thursdays at 1:00 pm and will start January 8th.  It was time for lunch when we got home and afterwards I called Larry and Denise to see if Larry could go with me to pick up the new storage room door. Larry had a jack that he needed to return to Harbor Freight and I had a Ladder to pick up so we along with Cheri and Denise went to Lakeland. Larry and I dropped Cheri and Denise off at Jo-Ann’s Fabrics and we went on to Home Depot to get the door and some electrical materials. After all was said and done we were back home around 4:00 pm. We played one game of Phase Ten with Larry and Denise. They had never played it before, guess Larry really like it because he won. After Larry and Denise left Cheri fixed us a bowl of hot soup for supper. It was cold again this morning and never got much above 50 degrees and no sun until very late this afternoon.

It was even colder this morning 34 degrees but it did warm up to the upper 60’s and no wind today which helped. Once again Cheri and I had no plans for the day. We made a quick trip out to the flea market as there were a couple of things Cheri wanted to get. When we got home I gave Larry a call to see if he wanted to do the TV cable and telephone wiring today. He said that he was just going to call me. So I went over to help him run TV cable for a couple of new TV’s and move a telephone jack. Cheri was working on a project for a Christmas present along with doing her laundry and house cleaning. I have done some more thinking about the store room project. We have a window in the spare bedroom that looks into the sunroom. I told Cheri we could take the window out and make it into a door for the new store room. That way she would have a complete wall in the sun room without a door. She liked the idea so after lunch I thought maybe I could get the window remove. Well things went really well and I am nearly ready for the new door. I really want the door in and done before I start the new wall. With a little luck tomorrow I can get the door. Cheri made an apple pie for supper along with some left over pork chops and some fresh baked potatoes with butter and onions.

It was 38 degrees this morning and I am sick of cold plus we are going to have a few more days of it. Cheri and I had no plans for today. We were talking about different things we would like to do to the house. One thing led to another and the next thing we are out in the sun room making plans to put up a wall in the back part so we can have a storage room. Right now things are sitting in the back out in the open which doesn’t look very nice. So after making some measurements we headed out for lunch at Jersey Mike’s and when we pulled in Cheri got a call from Pam saying that they were in town and they came over and we eat together. After a short visit we went our separate ways. Our first stop was Lowe’s to get some pricing on the materials for the sun room. From there we headed for Home Depot to check on the materials there. On the way we stopped to see Larry and Denise and they rode along with us. We got better pricing on the materials that we are going to need, think we can get away with around two hundred dollars. Larry and Denise got a couple of things they needed. After we dropped Larry and Denise off we headed to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine and groceries for Grandma. After all was said and done it was supper time when we got home. After supper we had an evening of playing cards with Mike and Kathy. They showed us a new card game called Phase Ten. It was fun and frustrating all at the same time. We were back home around 10:00 pm and crawled into bed and watch Survivor which we had recorded.

I was on the road a little before 8:00 am headed to Tampa for my eye appointment. I was about 15 minutes early hoping I would get in early but not to be it was 15 minutes past my appointment time before I got in. I did get a good checkup and don’t have to go back until next December. On the way home I stopped and filled up the car with gas, seems like I just did it a couple of days ago. It was almost noon when I got home. Cheri was done with her house cleaning and planning her next project. After lunch Cheri went to Hobby Lobby to get something for a Christmas present. I headed for the recliner to rest and found out that it took the rest of the day to do it. It was cold out again today but at least the sun was shining. I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything. When Cheri got home she also said she was tired and ready to rest. Wow! What an exciting day we had.

It was a cold wet misty rain all day, not a good day to be out and about. Cheri went to the post office early this morning to mail out a package and there were about ten people ahead of her. She said that there was a long line by the time she left. She spent the rest of the morning doing the Christmas letter and Christmas cards. I had a 10:00 am dentist appointment to have new crown work up done. I got home around 11:30 am and not feeling like doing anything else today. After Cheri got done with the Christmas cards we had a late lunch of hot soup. Larry and Denise came while we were eating. After lunch we played cards the rest of the afternoon. Cheri and Denise won the Hand, Knee, and Foot game. Larry and I squeaked by winning a couple games of pinochle. They left at 5:30 pm. Cheri asked me what I wanted for supper and I told her that soup again would be nice on a cold damp day. We settled in for an evening of TV watching show we had recorded along with a hot cup of apple cider. We also watched Monday Night Football as the Green Bay Packers were playing the Atlanta Falcons; it was a good game because the Packers won.

We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us this morning. Pastor Randy had an excellent message, The Real Words of Christmas, Luke 2:6-17.  In Sunday school today we started a new Bible study guide and the first lesson was Deliverance is Needed, Esther 3:1-9. It was very interesting and Charlie did a great job presenting it. After Sunday school we along with Mike & Pam and Mel & Jan decided to go to ABC Pizza for lunch but when we got there we found that there was a long waiting list to get in. So we went to Zephyrhills to try a new Italian restaurant called DI Maffio’s That’s Amore. We had an excellent meal and will be going back again in the future. We had a nice visit after we eat and didn’t get home until 2:30 pm. We change our clothes and headed to Lakeland. I had a 25 percent off coupon to use at Harbor Freight for the whole purchase and only good for today. I really didn’t need anything but managed to find a couple of things I will be able to use on a project. We had planned on going with Larry and Denise to Harbor Freight but we got home late and they had gone to look at a cap for their truck. We were tired when we got home and decided to crash in the recliners and watch some TV.

We had no plans for today so we just took things as they came. Cheri fixed a big breakfast for us and we relaxed for a while with the morning paper and coffee. Cheri went to get groceries later this morning. I spent some time studying the Sunday school lesson for tomorrow. I also mixed up some epoxy to attach some shoe clips to some Christmas things Cheri had, something that I was supposed to do a couple of week ago. I did do some back then and they didn’t turn out very well, so tried a different process with some success. Cheri spent the afternoon working on our yearly Christmas letter. I went outside and adjusted the security lights so now they shine in the right direction. I also cut back some of our potted plants so we can have some new and fuller growth. I also cleaned the coffee pot something I should do more often but hate to do. Years ago I used vinegar to clean it, and then I found out about using CLR which made it much easier to do but still a lot of work. Well today when I went to get the CLR out I found a bottle of coffee pot cleaner that was left here when we bought the house. So I thought I would try it and couldn’t believe how well and easy it was to clean the pot. It is called Brew Rite cleaner and I highly recommend using it. This evening was our church Christmas party and dinner for seniors. There had to be over 150 people. We sat with Mike & Pam and Mel & Jan. We also had Grandma with us. After wards we along with Mel and Jan went over to Mike and Pam’s to visit. It gave us a chance to get to know Mel and Jan a little better. It was another great day God made for us.

We had planned to go out for lunch with Ron and Sandy as we haven’t seen them for a few weeks. Well I got a call from Ron this morning and they were at the hospital waiting for the delivery of their new grandson, so lunch will have to be another time. We had a 10:00 am meeting at the Club House; we are trying to get a Bible study group started here in the park. There were nine of us and have a person to lead the group. We have another meeting next Friday at 10:00 am; we would like prayers to get this up and running. Cheri had me busy doing honey dew projects, moving things around for Christmas. She has completely redecorated the house for Christmas. We also got the painting she has been working on attached to the frame I made for it. She had me make it to fit in the master bath window. It looks really nice, she done a great job. This afternoon I had to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment for her B-12 shot. That went really well, got in on time and was back home within an hour.

The security lights on our house are old and when you go near them during the day they will come on. Not wanting them to come on during the day I turn the switch off and then forget to turn them back on at night. So when we come home after dark there is no light to see by. So I had checked on new ones with LED light and found them to be pretty pricey. After a lot of thought I bought a day/night sensor for eight dollars and installed it this morning, no more trying to put the key in the door lock in the dark. Larry and Denise came over around 10:00 am. We have wanted to go to the Red Barn Flea market down in Bradenton. I checked on the Internet and it said that they were open. Well when we got there only a small portion maybe a tenth of it was open. I was really disappointed driving a round trip of 130 miles. On the way back we stopped at Costco’s in Brandon as Denise had something she needed to return. So we had lunch while we were there plus Cheri and Denise found some things that they needed. From there we headed over to Old Time Pottery as Denise also had to make a return. Home Depot is in the same complex so that was where Larry and I headed. After all the shopping we ended up back home around 4:30 pm. We were done for the day and settled in for an evening of TV or maybe it was napping in front of the TV.

Cheri got the crock pot going with Swiss steak to have for supper. Larry, Norm and I left at 10:00 am for a motorcycle ride. Today was the last day Norm could ride. He has to go back to Alberta for work and then comes back in January. We headed south to Bradenton with a stop at the Harley dealer. Norm keeps looking at the bikes and is getting closer to buying a new one. He says he isn’t buying anything until April. We stopped for lunch a McDonalds. It was a nice day with fully clouds and a high near 80 and no rain according to the weather report. Although we did find a couple of stretches of wet roads and a light sprinkle. Of course Larry and Norm had to give me a hard time for riding into the only black cloud in the sky. All in all it was a great 173 mile ride. Cheri and Denise went shopping again today, seems like their shopping is never done. We had Larry and Denise over for supper and cards afterwards. We played two games of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Cheri and Denise skunked Larry and me the first game but we did win the other game (barely). It was another great day God made for us.

Cheri's Christmas Tree

Cheri went to the pool this morning but the water was too cold, they didn’t have the pool heater working, so came right back home. It is starting to look more like Christmas at the Sharp house. I got the Christmas tree out and put together for Cheri this morning. We had to leave at 9:30 am because we both had dentist appointments this morning at 10:00 and 11:00 am. Things went better this time as we both got in at 9:50 am; we each had a different hygienist. In the past we both would see the same hygienist and would have to wait. Long story short we were done and out in an hour. The bad news is I have to have a crown done, figured it would be awhile before I could get it done but they gave me an appointment for next Monday. We stopped by to see about getting our hair cut but the lady that cuts it wouldn’t be in until 3:00 pm. So we headed back home to our Christmas projects. Cheri worked on decorating the tree and getting all of her other Christmas things out and set up. I headed outside to put up some Christmas lights. I didn’t put any up last year as we didn’t have any awnings on the front of the house to fasten them to. I got the lights up in between the rain showers (our winter snow). I was done by mid afternoon so went to work on getting my new air hose reel installed and attached to the new air compressor, looks nice and happy to have that project done. Around 4:00 pm we headed out and got our haircuts done. When we got home I spent some time making some Christmas music CD’s from some Christmas music that Darren gave me on a flash drive. It was a good day and we got a lot done.

Wow! It’s December already, not sure where the last few months have gone. I feel like I am on a slippery downhill slide going faster and faster. Today was motorcycle ride day for me and the guys. Cheri went shopping with Denise. Our motorcycle ride left at 10:00 am with a 10 percent chance for rain. There were four of us on the ride and headed to the Harley dealer in Clermont and then to the Harley dealer in Lakeland. Yes we did find the ten percent rain, just enough to dampen our spirits and get the bikes dirty. We had a second shower while we were in Lakeland at the Harley dealer. We made one more stop at Harbor Freight as Larry wanted to check out the air compressors, looking for a check valve. It was probably a good thing we stopped as the rest of the ride home was on wet roads but no more rain. I got home around 4:00 pm. I got a call from Denise and they were still in Lakeland but on their way home and want to go out to Pizza Hut for supper. So they picked me up at 5:30 pm and we met Larry at Pizza Hut. The pizza Hut experience wasn’t very good this evening, very slow service, the pizza wasn’t done and made by someone that didn’t know what they were doing. I do complain a lot, something old people do.

Grandma didn’t go to church with us this morning as she was feeling a little under the weather. Pastor Randy had an excellent message, God vs. Humanity, Romans 3:8-26. Charlie did an excellent job with the Sunday school lesson, Living Out the Faith, Hebrews 13:1-8. We visited for a while after Sunday school and then headed back to Zephyrhills to have lunch at Jersey Mike’s. Grandma had given us a coupon and thought that today would be a good time to use it. We checked on getting haircuts today but the lady that cuts our hair wasn’t working today. Then we went to Wal-Mart for Grandma to pick up some groceries and her medicine. We were both tired when we got home and decide to take it easy today. That lasted about 10 minutes as Denise called and wanted to see if Cheri wanted to go shopping at Jo Ann Fabrics and Michel’s, of course she said yes. I on the other hand did relax and watched some car shows I had recorded and then the Green Bay Packers football game. They won and that made my day. Cheri got home around 5:30 pm and we settled in for an evening of TV.

Cheryl had to leave for work at 6:30 am so I was up to thank her for all she has done the last few days for Cheri and me. Cheri was up early also as we planned on being on the road for home by 9:00 am. It was another cold morning when I went out to put the luggage in the car it was all white with frost which is as close to snow as I ever want to get any more. We said our goodbyes to Chris and Darren and were on the road by 9:20 am. The traffic was fairly heavy on I-75 but moved along pretty good until we got to Ocala and then it was really heavy and much slower until we got off I-75 (about 40 miles of it). We got home a little past 5:00 pm and pretty tired from the day of travel. The trip was a total of 950 plus miles and got 36.1 miles per gallon which made me happy. Cheri fixed a pizza for supper and we watch some TV before calling it a night.

Chris works at Harbor Freight and because of Black Friday he had to be at work at 3:00 am. The rest of us slept in and had a nice breakfast that Cheryl made. After a lot of visiting it was time to face the 27 degree morning. The high today was around 49 degrees, didn’t seem as bad as yesterday as it wasn’t as windy. The ladies headed out for Black Friday shopping. Darren and I headed for the grocery store to pick up a few things that Chris needed for the dinner he was going to prepare for us. After the grocery shopping Darren and I went to Home Depot to look around, didn’t find anything we needed so went back to the house and Chris was home working on things for our dinner. Darren and I went back into town to meet the girls for a late lunch at the Corner Deli. After lunch the girls went back to shopping and Darren and I returned to the house to visit with Chris. When the girls got home Cheri made a peanut butter pie for Chris as he said that was is favorite pie. We had New York Strip steaks on the grill that Chris had marinating in his special sauce. After dinner it was more visiting and TV. It was another great day spent with new friends.

Happy Thanks Giving to everyone. It is another cold morning here in Carrollton, 29 degrees this morning and topped out at 50 degrees with wind. There wasn’t anything for me to be outside so stayed in all day. Chris and Sheryl fixed us a fabulist breakfast. The rest of the morning was spent visiting and getting things ready to have 23 people for dinner. It was a great time and met so many new people. Chris and Sheryl made us feel very special and seated us at the head of the table, something we have never done before, what an honor. We visited and watched football this afternoon. After all of Sheryl’s family left we settled in for more visiting and football. After a light snack this evening we played three game of Skip-Bow. Darren won the first, me the second, and Cheri the last one. It was a wonderful day and was blessed to spend it with Darren and his friends.

It is cold here this morning, in the low 40’s and a high of 51 plus a stiff breeze. We had breakfast at the motel and it was really bad. After we got the car packed up we went shopping, Belk’s, Target, Ross, and Wal-Mart. Then it was time for soup and salad at Olive Garden. Darren called and said that he was on his way to his friends (Chris and Sheryl Bass) house and we could meet him there. They have a lovely home in the country about six miles from Carrollton. We hung out and talked with Chris and Darren until Chris had to go to work. Sheryl didn’t get home from work until 7:00 pm so we had a late dinner at a restaurant in Carrollton; don’t remember what the name of it was but the food was excellent. It was pretty late by the time we got back and was ready for bed.

We got on the road at 9:00 am in the rain; first stop was Wal-Mart to fill the car with gas. We drove in some pretty hard rain and when we got on I-75 the rain really came down and the traffic was moving between 25 and 40 mile per hour. This lasted until just south of Ocala, then we had rain off and on (mostly on) until we were about 40 miles from our destination, Carrollton GA, 468 miles and it is only 50 degrees. We got into our motel (Super Eight) at 6:15 pm. After we got checked in we found out that there was Applebee’s just down the road from the motel. We had a good meal and was back to the motel by 7:30 pm. Just in time to get ready for the final Dancing with the Stars so I thought. Yep it started on time at 8:00 pm but I didn’t know it was going to be three hours long. I had a hard time staying awake as I was tired from the long drive. I do think the judges wimped out the last two nights and should have done what judges are supposed to do and judge the dances. Maybe they were told by the network to give them all tens. Anyway the right person did win. Ok now it’s time to go to sleep.

Cheri headed to the pool this morning for her exercise; it has been a while since she was last there as the water has been too cold for her or it had been raining. I left a little before 9:00 am and headed over to Larry and Denise’s to help Larry power wash their house. I didn’t think I was going to make it through the project, was almost more than I could handle today. Larry asked me if I wanted to stop for lunch and I said that if we stopped I wouldn’t be able to get back to it. We finished with the house at 2:00 pm. Larry still had the driveway to power wash. I couldn’t help with that so I headed home for a hot shower and tried to take a nap, did fall asleep for about an hour. Cheri had been getting things together for our trip to Atlanta to see Darren. She also finished the wreath that she was working last Friday, looks really nice. We had an early supper because I skipped lunch. Then we settled in for an evening of TV and Dancing with the Stars. Cheri was happy with the results. I had trouble staying awake to watch it with Cheri.

Grandma didn’t go to church with us today. She was invited to go to church with friends in the park as they were having their Thanks Giving today and wanted her to come. Pastor Mike delivered the message today from the book of Ephesians chapter 6. Both Cheri and I had a problem getting into the message today. Sunday school was great again today, studying A New Kind of Community, Hebrews 12:18-24. Cheri and I had lunch by ourselves at Chili’s back in Zephyrhills. While we were having lunch we decided we weren’t going to do anything but rest today. Well that didn’t last long because Pam called Cheri and wanted to know if she wanted to go shopping and of course she said yes and on the way home Larry called and wanted me to go to Lowe’s with him this afternoon. When we put the fireplace together last night there was two pieces that had been cut at a knot in the trim left a knot hole. So Larry had called over to Lowe’s and talked to them and they told him to bring in a picture of the damage. After all was said and done they gave Larry an additional 30 percent off. Then Larry and I made a trip to Harbor Freight in Lakeland. I bought an air hose and hoes reel for the new air compressor. I was back home by 4:00 pm and Cheri got home around 5:00 pm, so much for relaxing today.

Larry and Denise came over at 9:30 am. Larry and I headed over to Grandma’s to power wash her house. Early this morning it was raining and then stayed cloudy and breezy most of the day which made a perfect day for power washing. We got a good start and then the hose connection broke and we had to go over to Lowe’s to get a repair kit. We had to walk by the fireplace entertainment centers. So we checked them out and Larry found one that he liked, he called Denise and told her about it and she said to go ahead and buy it. Well we had to wait a long time before we could find someone to help us, Larry was ready to leave and I said that we were already here and had the truck to haul it home. Well we got the last one they had in stock and while we were getting it someone else came by and wanted one, good thing we waited. We dropped it off a that Larry and Denise’s and then it was back to the power washing project. Denise was busy trying to get different carrier for internet service, not happy with the one that they have. Then Cheri and Denise went shopping at Wesley Chapel. They called us around 1:30 pm and wanted to know if we had lunch, we didn’t so they stopped on the way home to get us a sub at Subway. It was around 4:00 pm when we got done with the power washing and back to our place. Cheri fixed the four of us supper. After supper Larry and I went over to their place and we unpacked the fireplace and put it together (some assembly required). It took us about an hour to get it together and looks really nice. It was after 8:00 pm went I got back home. We settled in for the evening, me watching the Badger football game I had recorded and Cheri playing solitaire on her I-pad.

I sent Larry and Denise an e-mail early this morning to see if they wanted to ride along with us to Brandon to return Grandma’s shoes and would be leaving at 10:00 am. I got an e-mail back and they said they would be ready to go. Cheri returned the shoes and then asked to order the ones Grandma wanted. They checked with all their stores and they didn’t have any so Cheri said that she wanted to order them and was told that they had been discontinued. They also said that there was a SAS outlet store in the Ellenton outlet mall. Our next stop was Costco’s in Brandon. Larry and Denise have a membership there so we checked it out, didn’t find anything we needed. From there we went to Old Time Pottery for Cheri and Denise. Then we headed to Ellenton to see about the shoes, first we stopped for a very late lunch at a restaurant by the mall called Peaches. We were there last year with Pat and Roger and it was very good. We found the shoe store and asked them if they had the shoes that Grandma wanted and they didn’t have them. Cheri asked them if they could be ordered. She looked them up and said that they could be ordered and mailed to us. Our last stop was in Plant City at Southern Hospitality which is a large furniture and craft store. Larry and Denise are looking for a fireplace entertainment center for their new TV. They found one that they liked and have put it on their list along with one from Costco. It was near 6:30 pm when we got home. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

It was still cold this morning but a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday. We really didn’t have any plans for today. We got a call early from Larry and Denise asking if they could come over and use our phone to get their internet service set up. They came around 9:30 am, after Denise got their internet service working we all went to the flea market. Larry was looking for a TV antenna which he found. We stopped back at our place for lunch and then over to Larry and Denise’s. Denise and Cheri covered their dining room chairs with some new Florida material with sea horses on it. Larry and I put up the antenna and got the cable run to the TV. They get a lot of channels off the air. Then Larry and I attached the seats back on the chairs, Cheri and Denise did an excellent job covering them. When we got home Cheri fixed the left over pizza we brought home from Pizza Hut. At 4:45 pm we picked up Grandma and took her to Wal-Mart so she could get her hair cut. While she was getting her hair cut Cheri and I got her groceries. When we got back to her place she told us that the new shoes she got don’t fit, so we will have to make a trip to Brandon to return them and order a different pair.

I got up at 5:00 am to a temp of 37 degrees (not to my liking) and the high topped out at 59 degrees, that didn’t happen until 4:00 pm and then started going down again. I helped Cheri this morning to get tables and things set up for the wreath making today. Pam is coming over to show Denise and Cheri how to make wreaths. Pam brought their van so I could install the new door handle as the old one was broke and they couldn’t open the driver’s door from the inside. It didn’t take very long to install it and I must say it probably went faster because of the cold breezy weather. Mike also stopped by and did help me put the door panel back together. We also helped the girls cut mesh for the wreaths they were making. Then Mike and I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to get some more mesh. We got some for Denise but didn’t have the color that Cheri needed. This afternoon I took Larry and Denise’s truck back to their place because Larry was washing the trailer and needed the truck to put the trailer in storage for the winter. I also help Larry with the Murphy bed. When we put the mattress in and tried to close it up the mattress hit the head board, so we took the bed apart and raised the head board so the mattress as more room when you close the bed. We just finished with that when Cheri and Denise came. It was 2:30 pm and was hungry because none of us stopped for lunch. So we headed over to Pizza Hut for a meal of Pizza. We made a stop at Lowe’s has Larry and Denise said that the drains were running slow, so Larry bought a flush adapter for a garden hose and will be able to put some water pressure into the drains and see if that cleans them out. Cheri and I got home around 4:30 and were done for the day.

Larry and Denise picked us up at 9:30 am to go shopping. They needed to get a new mattress for the Murphy bed that Larry made and internet service. Our first stop was Home Depot to see if there was room in the truck to pick up the air compressor, we measured the room we had in the truck bed and then the compressor and it wouldn’t fit with the extra racking Larry had on the truck for the mattress they are going to buy. Wal-Mart in Wesley Chapel was the next stop. Denise wanted to check on getting a temporary internet through Version for three month until Bright House gets the internet service in their park. I bought a cheap Dash Cam for the car. Our next stop was Michaels for craft materials as Pam is showing Cheri and Denise how to make Christmas reefs tomorrow. Then we headed to Sam’s for some groceries and the mattress, first we had a slice of pizza and drink for lunch. We looked at the mattresses, Larry and Denise already knew what they wanted because they had bought one this summer and are very happy with it. We have been thinking about getting a new and as long has Larry and Denise were getting one it was a good time for us to get one too as there was room for an extra mattress on the truck. We dropped off Larry and Denise’s mattress and then to Lowe’s so Larry and Denise could get the paint they wanted to paint the Murphy bed and the spare bed/sewing room. Then we headed to our place to drop off our new mattress and loaded up the old one to take it to the dump. While Larry and I were doing the dump thing Denise and Cheri went to Wal-Mart to get the air internet card to use as they can pay as they go until Bright House brings in internet service. After leaving the dump Larry and I stopped at Home Depot and picked up my new air compressor. After all was said and done we ended up at Larry and Denise’s for a wonderful supper of roast pork, onions, potatoes, and carrots all done in the crock pot. After supper we played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I won. It was a great day and got a lot done.

The day started out with a lot of sunshine and clear. But it didn’t last very long as by 9:30 am it was starting to cloud up and the wind started blowing, by 11:00 am we had a few sprinkles and by noon we had rain and that was for the rest of the day. At 9:30 am we headed over to see Larry and Denise. Larry was already putting together the Murphy bed that he had built in Ontario and brought down. While I helped Larry, Denise and Cheri went shopping and came back to fix a late lunch for us and then shopping again and didn’t see them again until around 5:00 pm. Larry and I got the bed together and is now ready for paint. Larry and I went to Lowe’s to get some bolts for the cabinet doors that are part of the Murphy bed. When we got back Denise and Cheri had supper ready for us. After supper we play one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which the girls won, was a close game until the last hand. We got home around 8:30 pm and settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars. I fell asleep watching and finally went to bed and left Cheri to watch by herself.

It was a beautiful day with temps back to 80 degrees. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. Pastor Randy had an excellent message to day (It’s Not a Position but a Profession!) from Romans 3:1-8. Also a good Sunday school lesson (The Discipline of Suffering) from Hebrews 12:1-7. After Sunday school class we had a gathering called Linger Longer with Soup, Salad, and Dessert, we got to meet some more of our Sunday school friends. After we dropped Grandma off we made a stop at the grocery store to pick up a few things for Larry and Denise as they will be here late this afternoon, wanted them to have enough to get by this evening and tomorrow morning without having to go out for groceries. Larry has a bad cold and has been a long hard three day trip. When we got home I settled in for an afternoon of Packer football and NASCAR racing. Cheri went to the sewing room to work on her art work painting. Denise called around 4:00 pm and said that they had arrived and we decide to wait until tomorrow to go and see them as we know they are very tired from their trip down.

Hard to believe that Nov is half over already, Turkey day will be here before we know it. Cheri thought it would be a good idea to go out for breakfast in the Highlands where Mike and Pam live. Pam was telling us the restaurant is now serving breakfast at reasonable price. Well she wasn’t wrong, great breakfast in fact we should have shared a meal as there was a lot of food. Another reason Cheri wanted to go to the Highlands is they are having their park wide yard sale today. We park toward the middle of the park and started walking to check out the sales. Cheri bought some Christmas stuff. Then we drove over to Grand Horizon Park, they had their Park wide sale today along with a craft sale at their club house. I did find a power cord that I can use with the generator to supply power to the house if we lose commercial power. I had a cord that would have worked and wasn’t thinking and sold it at our yard sale this spring. I was pretty upset with myself because I sold it for 15 dollars and it was going to cost me around 40 dollars to replace it. Well I ended up paying 10 dollars for the one today, just like the one I sold, so I came out ahead. When we got home I went out and trimmed all the blossoms from the Mom’s as they were turning dark and were done blooming. Cheri headed over to Beall’s as she had a coupon she wanted to use. Late this afternoon Cheri made a crock pot of Chile for supper and to take to church tomorrow as the Sunday school class is getting together after class to have lunch and get to know each other. I settled in to watch the Wisconsin Badgers play Nebraska. I really thought that Nebraska would probably win but the Badgers came though and won big time.

It was a more relaxed day, no big plans. Cheri left for the pool and came right back in and said that it was misting out. It was a gloomy cool morning and didn’t see any sun until after lunch, not sure what the high temp was today but I don’t think it made it to 70. Cheri did her Friday laundry and house cleaning. She also finished her Christmas tree skirt and has already started on her next project; she is going to try to do a painting. I did a little clean up out in the shop and made a mount for the GPS unit that we used in the truck so I can use it on the motorcycle. I got that done and looks good on the motorcycle. Now I need to come up with something that I can use for sun shield as when the sun hit the screen you can’t see anything. I will have to dream on that for a while. Once again I did some internet searching for an air compressor and nailed it down to one that they have at Home Depot. I told Cheri I wanted to go and look at it and also do some more checking on the vinyl fence that I want to put up in part of the carport to hide my work area. On the way home from Home Depot we made a stop at Larry and Denise’s to check their house, they should be here late tomorrow. Cheri and I had to do security this evening and put on extra clothes to keep warm as it was pretty cool riding around in the golf cart. A little past 11:00 pm, we called it a night and headed home.

Let’s see Friday the thirteenth came on Thursday so I guess it is OK to be out and about. When Cheri got back from the pool we headed over to the flea market here in Zephyrhills. It just started a couple of weeks ago and we keep forgetting to go. It was fun checking things out and to see what was new this year. I got a new 2015 Bike Week tee shirt, talk about getting ahead of the game as Bike Week isn’t until March. We saw Ron and Sandy at the flea market and visited with for a bit. When we got home Cheri started putting the binding on her Christmas tree skirt. I called Mike to see if he was going to be home. The door handle on their van is broke and can’t open the driver’s door from the inside. He was home so I took the motorcycle and went to see if I could fix it. Mike and I had a nice visit and then back home to see about ordering a new handle off the internet. I did find one and it should be here next week, should only take about half an hour to install it. Pam called Cheri this afternoon and wanted to know if we want to go out for supper and Cheri said of course we would. We picked up Mike and Pam at 4:30 pm and headed to Francesco’s restaurant in Dade City. We all had their Greek salad which is always good. Then we headed back to Mike and Pam’s for an ice cream Sunday and more visiting. They told us about the good time they had on their cruise with Ron and Sandy.

I was up a 5:00 am as I had to leave here at 6:20 am for a 7:00 am appointment to have the oil changed in the car at the Honda dealer in Wesley chapel. It was our first time getting the oil changed and doing business with them. I was really impressed with how well they took care of me. On the way home I stopped at the big Wal-Mart in Wesley Chapel to pick up some breakfast sausage plus a couple of other things that I didn’t know I needed. When I got home I found Cheri busy in the sewing room. After lunch I went out and painted the lumber rack. When you look at the pictures you probably wonder why I would paint it yellow. Well it’s like this, Cheri wanted yellow paint for the master bathroom and what she bought was too bright and we had to mix a lot of white to get it toned down to the color she wanted. After she got the color of yellow she wanted we still had almost a full gallon of yellow paint. So that is why the lumber rack is yellow and probably many other things will be yellow. By late afternoon the lumber rack was done, tomorrow I will get all the lumber loaded on it. Cheri finished the quilting on her Christmas tree skirt, all she has left to do is the binding.

There is a lumber rack some where in there

A good start

Ready for paint

Cheri got the camera

Yep it is yellow!!!!

And it is done

It is Veterans Day today so let’s all thank a veteran for serving our country so we can have our freedom, in fact it is something we should every day when we see a veteran or a person that is now serving our country. Cheri did her Tuesday house cleaning and then spent the rest of the day quilting. I worked outside on my rolling lumber rack. At 2:00 pm I took a break for a very late lunch and early supper. We went over to Chili’s for lunch because they were giving a free meal to all veterans. From there we stopped at Lowe’s has I needed a few things for the lumber rack I am building. When we got home Cheri went back to quilting and I outside. I finished the lumber rack at 5:00 pm and it is now ready for paint. We both had a good day and got a lot done.
