Memorial
Day (Decoration Day) is not a day to celebrate; it is a day to honor our veterans
and their families for what they have done and are doing for us so we can have
the freedom we have today. When you see a veteran, thank him for what his time
in the service of our country. Being a veteran myself and when someone thanks
me for my service it makes me feel really proud and lifts my spirits. The concrete
man (Sam) came this morning to get things ready to pour concrete tomorrow
morning. I took a break late morning to get cleaned up to go down to the hall
for a potluck dinner here in the park. Then it was home to do some more work on
the framing project. Cheri spent her time in the sewing room. Cheri got a call
from Pam and Mike wanting to meet us for supper at the Village Inn. Ron and
Sandy couldn’t make it as they were spending the evening with their daughter
and grandson. After supper we went over to Mike and Pam’s to play Aggravation,
Pam and Cheri won two out of the three games we played. They taught us a new
game called Skip-Bo. We hadn’t played it before, it was a fun and interesting game,
have to do some thinking before you play, not a game to play and have a conversation
at the same time. Pam and Cheri also won that game, not a good night for Mike
and me.
