Ok
today is my day to use my new paint sprayer to paint the primer on the tool
cabinet. First I must tell you that I hate to paint. Ok with that said let’s
get started. The directions tell me there is going to be some over spray so I
laid a large trap on the floor of the carport. Then I got the tool cabinet on
the tarp upside down so I can pray the bottom first I also laid newspaper
around it for the over spray. I got a gallon of primer that I need to pour into
the quart and half cup of the sprayer. I didn’t have a funnel handy so I use a
measuring cup that I had in the garage. Well that didn’t work out as well as I
got paint all over the sprayer, work bench and down the side of the gallon of
paint. (Did I mention I hate painting?) Ok now after cleaning up some of the
paint I spilled I was ready to do a test on a piece of cardboard. That went
well so I started the spraying on the tool cabinet. Wow before I knew it I was
out of paint and I also had some runs in the paint plus I had a lot of over
spray. So it was back to the shop to fill up the paint cup. This time I got a
funnel from Cheri to fill the paint cup, which worked much better. I did some
adjustment on the spray gun so it wouldn’t spray so much. This time the
spraying went much better but still had over spray. The total time of spraying
was about 5 minutes. Ok now it is time to clean up the spray gun and I still
managed to spill more paint on the floor of the shop and on myself. (Did I
mention I hate painting?) I ended up with paint all over me and the spray gun.
I think it took me an hour to get things cleaned up. I still have to turn the
tool cabinet over so I can prime the rest of it. Now it was time for lunch and
not sure I wanted to go back outside. I did go out and checked the paint and
was mostly dry but decided to wait until tomorrow to finish the priming. I must
say that I do like the way the sprayer worked and the finish was great. I think
I will still hate painting tomorrow. Now it was time to head for the shower to
see if I could get the paint off of me. I did another favorite thing this
afternoon (not) going to Wal-Mart with Cheri to get groceries and pick up
medicine for Grandma. We also go groceries for ourselves. We got a call from
Larry and Denise around 5:00 pm telling us that they should get here around
8:00 pm and they arrived 8:30 pm. We had a good visit and talked about the new
house. At 10:00 pm we called it a night as Larry and Denise were very tired
form their two day of nonstop driving to get here.

I
was awake before 5:00 am and couldn’t go back to sleep so got up, had a lot on
my mine. We had a 10:00 am appointment to do a house inspection for Larry and
Denise that they have put an offer on. We also took a bunch of pictures for
them to see before they get here tomorrow. The house has very good bones and
just needs to be updated. I had to take Grandma for her B-12 shot at 1:15 pm
and didn’t have to wait very long. Shortly after I got home Mike and Pam picked
us up to go shopping over in Wesley Chapel at Wire Grass Shops. Mike and I sat
on a bench waiting for Pam and Cheri to do their shopping. I think we got most
of the world problems solved. Then it was time to go to the Prime Bar &
Grill to get something to eat. Then the girls wanted to stop at Penny’s so Mike
and I waited in the car. From there we went to Sam’s to pick up a few things. We
got home around 7:30 pm and had a wonderful time with Mike and Pam. Larry and
Denise said that they would call us this evening to let us know where they were
and when they would get here tomorrow. We began to get worry about them because
it was after 9:00 pm and had heard from them so we called them and they said
that they just got into the motel room and would call us back when they got settled
in. When they called back they said that they left home at 6:00 am and got tied
up at the border going through customs and was there for two hours. So they were
very, told them to get some rest and we would see them tomorrow evening.

I
didn’t have any plans on what I was going to do today which is usual for me.
Needless to say I was slow about getting around this morning. It was almost 9:00
am before I was ready to get something done. I went over to the neighbors and
weeded the flower beds and then back home to start some of the clippings from
the Trinette Variegated Schefflera. If I can get some to grow I will plant them
in the rock garden in back of the house. A couple of weeks ago I started some
clippings of the Coleus and they are coming along nicely. I fixed some of the
solar lights that were coming down. A couple of the stick back clips didn’t
stick so I replaced them. I also got my shop cleaned up from working on the
tool cabinet. I was done before noon and was too hot to work outside anymore
today. Cheri was working on her Christmas wall hanging and things weren’t going
well for her as I heard her talking to herself. Shortly after that she came out
of the sewing room and said that she was done for the day. We got a call from
Larry and Denise telling us that they want us to go and check out a house for
them so I called the realtor and got an appointment for 10:00 am tomorrow. The
Wagner paint sprayer I ordered came this afternoon so I spent some time reading
the directions on how to take it apart and clean it as well as how to paint
with it. Reading directions is something new for me as I usually go right to
work with stuff and then read the directions if something doesn’t work right. Hopefully
I can get the tool cabinet painted this week. This evening we got a call from
Larry and Denise and told us that they were leaving tomorrow morning and coming
down, they should be here sometime Wednesday evening.

We
were back to our usual Sunday routine. We picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and
headed to church. Pastor Dean had a very interesting message today about other
so called religions. After church we went to Fire House Subs for lunch with
Mike and Pam along with their three grandsons. When we got home I settled in
for an afternoon of NASCAR racing and Cheri with the book she is reading. After
the race we watched a movie and then it was time for our Sunday night pizza. After
another movie it was time for bed.

Cheri
and I went out for breakfast this morning at a new restaurant here in
Zephyrhills called the Breakfast Station. They are open from 7:00 am until 3:00
pm and serve breakfast all day plus other things for lunch. It was very good
and nice to have a good place to go for breakfast at a descent price. Then we
filled up the car with gas and headed to Safety Harbor to see Mike and Mary as
they have moved to a new house so today we took a road trip to see them and the
new house. After visiting for a while we went out to Smoky Bones for lunch.
Mike drove our car and showed us around Safety Harbor. It is a small and old
town. Also took us though a big county park that is within walking distance
from their house. We stopped to see a house that was really different. It was
the first trip we have taken with the new car and got 35.1 miles to the gallon
today.

Cheri
informed me this morning that there was a sale over at Beall’s today and had
shirts were buy one and get the second one for a dollar and some sort of
discount. So Cheri thought that she should go and save us some more money. I
worked on sanding the tool cabinet. The sanding went well after I got the right
sandpaper. When Cheri got home she said that she had talked to Pam on the phone
and that they were going to meet over at Hobby Lobby after lunch. After lunch I
finished the sanding and now I am ready to paint. I got an e-mail the other day
letting me know that my paint sprayer will be here late Monday afternoon. I
also trimmed all the flowers back so they will bush out more. Later this
afternoon we got a phone call from Larry and Denise telling us that they didn’t
get the house that they put the offer on. The bank came back and wanted another
$7000. They were very surprised as they had put in the full amount that it was
listed for. Then the realtor told them that she had the price low so she could
get an offer and knew the bank wouldn’t accept it, talk about wasting a person
time and get their hopes up. I grilled a couple of the Omaha steaks that Darren
got me for my birthday and father day. They sure were good and tender. We
topped off the day with a couple of movies I down loaded yesterday.

I
really don’t have much to write about today. I slept in until 6:30 am and it
felt good. So I started out lazy and that is the way we ended the day. Cheri
did go shopping over to Beall’s this morning, said something about a coupon
that she needed to use. I think Beall’s know how women think because they
always have coupons in the paper with all sorts of deals and most women like
coupons because they think they are saving money. Then when they get home they
tell us guys that we saved you this much money which we never see. I worked on
the computer most of the day. I down loaded a few movies to watch on TV. When
Cheri got home she finished the laundry and also did do anything else for the
day. We both also did a lot of reading and watch very little TV. We had a pizza
party to go to at 5:00 pm down at the Club house. They had a guy come in with
10 pizza ovens and were making all different kinds of pizza. It was all you
wanted to eat for six dollars per person. It was pretty good and they plan on
doing it again sometime.

I
was up before 5:00 am as I had to be in Tampa by 6:30 am for appointments. It
was a long day and didn’t get done until near 3:00 pm. Cheri worked on her
Christmas wall hanging and said that things didn’t go the way she wanted them
to. It was one of those days when we take one step forward and then two steps
backwards. Ron had his heart surgery this afternoon. So Cheri and I went to the
hospital to sit with Sandy along with their daughter Jocelyn and other friends.
The surgery went well and he was in recovery when we left. Cheri and I went to
get something to eat at Sushiko Chinese and Japanese restaurant. It was the
first time we have eaten there and was very good. Ron and Sandy hat told us
about it. Then it was time to head to church for our Bible study. Once again we
had a hard time understanding what we were studying, just need to dig deeper
into the subject. It wasn’t all that late when we got home but we were both
stressed out from the day and decided to go to bed and watch some TV.

I
was awake early and couldn’t go back to sleep so I finally got up a little
before 5:00 am. So I was kind of slow getting my motor started. Cheri had
bought a bird bath a few months ago and then a few weeks ago she bought a pole
to hang it from. So I thought I better get busy and put it up before Cheri
decided to do it herself. After I got it up I put some water in it and it
leaked like a sieve. So I had to put some sealer around the bolt that goes
through the glass bowl. Then I cleaned the bird feeders and filled them with
fresh bird seed. Then I worked on sanding the tool cabinet to get it ready for
paint. That project didn’t go so well as the sanding belts all came apart when I
went to use them so I decided to use one of my other sanders that uses hook and
loop sand paper. Well that didn’t work either as the hook and loop came off the
sandpaper. I guess sitting for over nine years in a container in our storage
trailer caused it deteriorated. I did use another sander that I had for many
years and it finally came apart. Well it was time to quit for the day as I had
1:00 pm security meeting this afternoon. Cheri continued to work on the
Christmas wall hanging. She is in the process of doing the quilting on it now.
When I got home from my meeting I could see she was a little frustrated and
asked her if she wanted to go to Wawa down in Lakeland for a smoothie. She OK
and wanted to stop at Jo-Ann’s to pick up some thread. We also stopped at Home
Depot so I could get some sanding disk. We got home around 5:00 pm and decide
we had enough for the day.

It
was an interesting day for us or I should say for me more than Cheri. After
breakfast and my exercise I went over to the neighbors and weeded their flower
beds. Then after getting our water bill for this month and found out that it
was $40 more than last month it was time to turn the water timing down on the
flower bed in front of the house. I think the plants are established enough now
that they don’t need as much water, guess we will see what happen. After
reading the instructions for the new Wagner paint gun I decide to return it and
get the next higher paint gun as it has more options. I noticed yesterday that
the main bathroom toilet was running and not shutting off all the way. So it
was off to Lowe’s to return the paint gun and found out that they didn’t have
the next up model. We did get the new toilet parts plus a new toilet seat that
Cheri said we needed. She really wanted a new higher and longer toilet but
after taking measurements we decided there wouldn’t be an enough room to get
around it, so it is fix the old one. On the way to Lowe’s we stopped by Mike
and Mary’s as Mike was here working on their house getting it ready to sell. We
had a nice visit with him and they are happy with their new house. After I got
the toilet fixed I went on the internet to see if Home Depot had the Wagner
paint sprayer. They don’t carry it in the store but was able to order it on
line. So now I have to wait another week for it to come. I also planted some
flower chipping that we were rooting in some small pots to get them started. I
also got the screw holes filled in the tool cabinet. I thought I was going to
get it sanded and ready for paint today but ran out of time. Cheri was busy
working on her Christmas wall hanging. Also put pork chops in the crock pot for
supper.

Grandma
didn’t go to church with us this morning. We had a special speaker and there
wouldn’t be any message for Grandma to read so she was going to church with
friends from Baker Acers. The special speaker was presenting The Walk through
the Old Testament. We were showed how to remember using hand signals. It was
very stressful for me and Cheri. After church Ron & Sandy, Mike & Pam,
and Cheri and I went to Brandon for lunch at a new place called Corner Bakery Café.
The food was very good. While we were eating we discussed the church service
and we all thought it was too much to learn. There was going to be three more
hours of it this afternoon. Pam had the right idea about it as she said give me
an outline and a picture and she would get more out of it and we all agreed
with her. After lunch we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to pick up a shower curtain
that Denise wanted. She e-mailed us and asked Cheri if she could pick it up for
her as she couldn’t get it in Ontario. Then we went to Old Time Pottery where
Cheri found new lamps for our bedroom. After we got home we check our paint
supply and then went to Lowe’s to get the paint and a Wagner paint spray to
paint my new tool cabinet. After all was said and done it was 5:00 pm when we
finally got home. It was time for our Sunday evening pizza and an evening of
TV.

I
was up early this morning, couldn’t sleep. So my blog for yesterday was done,
my exercise was done, breakfast with coffee and internet and e-mails all done
before 8:00 am. So I got an early start on my tool cabinet. Cheri took Grandma
shopping this forenoon to buy some clothes. It was around 12:30 pm when she got
home. After lunch she talked to Pam and they ended up going shopping this
afternoon as they both wanted to go to Michael’s. I finished the tool cabinet
around 3:30 pm. All that is left to do is sanding and painting. I was very
pleased how it came out as I never had a plan; it was a plan and build as I
went. I guess I did have somewhat of a plan in my mind how I wanted it. Cheri
got home around 4:00 pm. She bought a pine plaque board to do a project for a
friend. After supper we settled in for an evening of TV. We had another day
without any rain, think it must be a summer record.

Cheri’s
exercise pool partner has moved and now I need to get something set up with the
exercise instructions on it so she can continue with her exercise class
(another project). Cheri continued to work on her Christmas wall hanging, she
is working on the border and has it just about done. I worked on my tool
cabinet and got it all assembled except for the doors. I made a trip to Lowe’s this
afternoon to pick up the materials for the doors. When I got home I felt like I
had done enough for the day. So after a shower and getting cleaned up we
watched a movie. Then it was time to get ready for our first dinner club
outing. It was an enjoyable time and got to meet some new friends from church.
We also got a call from our son Darren and told us he has got a new job which
was great news because the present job was going to end in October. The down
side is he has to travel farther to get to it. We didn’t get any rain today,
can’t remember the last time we had a rain free day.

I
had to get around this morning as Grandma had a 9:00 am doctor’s appointment.
It was her wellness appointment and she got a good report. When I got home
Cheri was doing house cleaning and laundry. I went out to work on my tool
cabinet/project table. While I was working on it Cheri went to the grocery
store to get groceries for Grandma. I ran out of screws for the cabinet so I
took the motorcycle and made a trip to Lowe’s. I got home before Cheri. It was
1:00 pm before Cheri got home and we had lunch. I got 95 percent of the cabinet
cut out and part of it assembled. By 3:30 pm I had enough for the day. I took a
shower and got cleaned up and ready for a little relaxation in the recliner.
Cheri worked on her Christmas wall hanging this afternoon. She quit when I headed
to the recliner. So we watched some TV before having a supper of barbeque spare
ribs that Cheri had going in the crock pot. We got more rain today, most of it came this morning. We finished the evening with some
TV and called it a night.

It
was a sad morning as Larry and Denise left 8:30 am and headed back home to Ontario.
We are really going to miss them as we have so much fun together. It rained
most of day making it a wash out to work outside. So Cheri and I went and got
haircuts which we had needed for a while. When we got home we decided to relax
the rest of the day. While Cheri was reading I did some computer work. I got
all of our pictures backed up from the computer to the new backup drive. I have
been looking at Wagner paint sprayers and thought I knew which one I wanted
after Larry and I looked at them yesterday but after doing some internet
checking I think I have changed my mind, still in the information gathering. We
watched our first movie that Larry showed me how to download. Everything worked
well so now I need to get busy and download a few to watch. We met Ron and
Sandy at Home Depot and rode with them for supper at Biagios Pizza and Pasta.
We eat there last Wednesday before going to church for Bible study. So we
thought we would do it again as it was pretty good. For Bible study we did
chapters 6 and 7 of Revelations. I had a hard time this evening and just couldn’t
get into the Bible study. It was 8:30 pm when we got home and I looked at the
bed and Cheri said it was too early to go to bed. So we watched some TV before
calling it a night. I checked the rain gauge and we received 1 ¼ inches of
rain.

It
was a more relaxing morning as the house hunting was over so we took it easy
this morning. Cheri and Denise wanted to go shopping so Larry and I were the
chaperones. Our first stop was Wal-Mart over in Wesley Chapel. Then we dropped
Cheri and Denise off at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Larry and I went over to Lowe’s to
check out a Wegner paint sprayer. I thought it would be a good thing to use to
paint the used table and chairs that they got for their new house yesterday. I
got a call from Cheri and said that they were done at Jo-Ann’s and were going
to Ross’s and Bed Bath & Beyond. When Larry and I got done we met them at HHGregg
to check out the TV’s and furniture. Then we headed to Toys “R” Us, Denise is
looking for some swimming fens for a project she is making. Our last stop was
Dick’s and then headed for home but then Cheri had one more place she wanted to
stop at, the second hand furniture shop in Zephyrhills. We finally home around
1:30 pm for a late lunch and some card playing. Then we decided to go downtown
to see about getting an insurance quote on the new house that Larry and Denise
put the offer on. We were too late as the insurance office closed at 4:00 pm.
So we headed back home to play some more cards. Around 7:00 pm we went out for
supper at the Island Breeze restaurant. When we got home we watched a little TV
and called it a night.

It
was another busy day. This morning we went with Larry and Denise to Wedgewood
Manor to meet with the president and secretary of the HOA board to get the
rules of the subdivision with the dos and don’ts. Then at 11:00 am we had
another showing of the house they want to buy. We wanted to make sure
everything was as it was in the listing. After Larry and I went through
everything we were pretty impressed how well built the house was. After our
inspection it was time for Larry and Denise to go to the realtor’s office and
fill out paper work and make their offer. An hour later Larry and Denise hear
from the realtor, said that the home owners had accepted the offer. Being that
it is a short sale they now have to wait for the bank to see if they will accept
the offer. We had a late lunch and then headed to Clearwater to check out a furniture
consignment store. Cheri had found the ad for the store in the newspaper and
they were having a big sale. They had some very nice furniture. From there we
headed to St Pete where they have another furniture consignment store. Larry
and Denise did buy a dining room set with six chairs. They are going to store
it for them until November. It was 5:00 pm when we left the store in St Pete
and we got a taste of the rush hour traffic. It took us two hours to go the 52
miles home. I got the grill started to grill up some pork chops for supper. It was
a late supper and didn’t get done until after 8:00 pm. There was still time to
play a couple games of cards before calling it a day.

We
hadn’t planned on going to church this morning because Larry and Denise where
here so Grandma made plans to go to church with her friends. We did ask Larry
and Denise if they would want to go and they said yes so we headed to church
this morning. Pastor Dean’s message was very interesting today, about other
religions and cults. After church nine of us went out for lunch at Olive Garden.
After lunch we went across the highway to HHGregg to get some answers on why I couldn’t
get the smart TV we have to play movies through the USB port. Well turned out
that I was using the wrong setup. It took the guy about 15 seconds to show me.
As long as I had him to talk to I also asked him about how to set up the
internet to the TV. That also took only 30 seconds. While Larry and I were
doing that Cheri and Denise went to Ross’s department store. When Larry and I
got to Ross’s they were about ready to check out, Cheri bought some pretty bath
and hand towels along with matching wash cloths. On the way home we took a ride
by the house that Larry and Denise is going to put the offer on. When we got
home Larry and Denise where getting the paper work together that they need
tomorrow for the house offering. I tried to get the TV set up to watch movies
through the USB port. I did get it to work with a flash drive but not with the
new Toshiba Canvio external hard drive that I bought just for movies. The drive
works fine with the computer but not with the TV. So I took the external hard
drive that I use for my back up files and tried it and it worked fine. So I
guess I will use the old one for movies and the new one for a back up drive.
After Larry and Denise got done with their paper work they did some more internets
searching and found another house in the same sub division that was up for bids
and could buy it now for $75,000. So we headed out to check it out, turned out
to be in really bad shape and would cost at least $30,000 to bring it back in
shape. Larry and I also watched the NASCAR race this afternoon. This evening we
played cards.

It
was a busy day in the Sharp house today. First Larry, Denise, Cheri and I went
down to the Rec hall for breakfast. I had said I wouldn’t go again but this
morning they had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuit, orange juice, and
coffee, it was much better than last month with the under cooked pancakes. Then
we went driving around different subdivisions looking for houses. Then we went
over to Wesley Chapel and stopped at Sam’s. It was near lunch time so we
checked out all the samples and then we each had a four berry sundae. Yes we
did buy some groceries. Just as we came out of Sam’s Larry and Denise got a
call from the realtor that we could meet and see three houses in Wedgewood
Manor. So we hot footed it back to Zephyrhills to look at the houses. After
checking out those houses we had a little time to kill before our next house
appointment. The last house we checked for the day was a private sale and not
so good. Then we stopped at Beall’s so Larry could get a pair of shoes that were
on sale, but they were out of his size. On the way back to our place Larry and
Denise decided to put an offer in on one of the houses we looked at with the
realtor. So they were busy filling out paper work while Cheri got supper ready.
Larry had showed me how to down load movies and be able to watch them on our
TV. Everything went well until I tried to connect to the TV. I didn’t have any
luck getting a connection to the TV, time to get the TV manual out, followed
the directions in the manual and still no luck. Larry and Denise were done
filling out paper work for the new house so we played a game of cards before it
was time for me to do park security, Larry rode along with me as Mike was gone.
So it was a full day of fun.

After
visiting, breakfast, coffee, and checking houses for sale on the internet it
was time to head out check out some houses. Our first stop was Wedgewood Manor,
it is a 55 plus community with a 175 homes. It is a beautiful subdivision and
found a couple of homes Larry and Denise want to see. So they called the realtor
made an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. We also found a couple of homes
that were for sale by owner. From there we went to Spanish Trails West where
Larry and Denise had an 11:00 am appointment to see two houses. One is home is
on their final list. After checking out the two houses it was time to head back
home for lunch. After lunch Larry called and made an appointment for 3:00 pm to
see a house in Wedgewood Manor that was for sale by owner. So we played a
couple of games of cards until it was time to go and see the house. It was a
nice house but need way too much work to bring it back into shape. From there
we headed to Lakeland as Denise had some parts from her old sewing machine she
needed to return to the dealer where she bought her new sewing machine this
spring. Of course Denise and Cheri had to stop at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Larry and
I headed to Harbor freight to pick up our free things. After we picked up
Denise and Cheri we stopped at Wawa for smoothes and then headed for home for
supper and an evening of cards. It was another great day God made for us to
spend with friends.

When
I saw Cheri this morning I said happy anniversary and she looked at me and said
what for. I wouldn’t tell her and to let me know when she figured it out. It
took a while but she did figure it out. It was one year ago today when we
closed on our house, hard to believe we have been here for a year already. We
have made several changes to the house and I am sure we can now call it our
home. Later I took Grandma for her lab appointment and to the bank. Then it was
time to get the shop cleaned up from my plumbing project I did yesterday. Larry
and Denise arrived around 1:30 pm. We had a late lunch and visited for a while
and then went and looked at some houses. Larry and Denise are looking to buy a
winter home. They had a couple of houses that they wanted to see but the realtor
was gone and should be able to see them tomorrow. It was around 5:30 pm when we
got home. Cheri had a beef roast with carrots, onions, and potatoes going in
the crock pot for supper. Afterwards we played cards until 10:30 pm and called
it a night.

We
had a change in plans today or I should say I did and Cheri went along with
them. It all started with the coffee this morning. Sometimes our water has a
strong smell and taste of chorine, it seems like it has been happing more all
the time. It makes the coffee taste really bad. So we went to Lowe’s and bought
a drinking water system with its own water faucet. Cheri said if you are doing
that I want a new kitchen faucet. I told her that was a whole different project
and wasn’t going to happen. Well when we got home Cheri cleaned things out
under the sink so I could install the new drinking water system and said it is
damp under the sink. While I was installing the new water system I check and
found the dampness was coming from the kitchen faucet. So back to Lowe’s so
Cheri could pick out a new kitchen faucet. I was hooking up the new faucet and the
connections where different than the old one. So I headed back to Lowe’s again
to get the additional parts needed to finish the install (glad Lowe’s is only
two miles away). It was near 4:00 pm before I got done. Cheri still has a to
put things away but is going to wait until tomorrow so everything can dry out
plus I still have to make a brace for one end of the self under the sink. A
little before 5:00 pm we headed over to Home Depot to meet Ron and Sandy and
they rode with us to Biagios Pizza and Pasta where we met Mike and Pam for
supper. From there we headed to church for our Bible study class. Pastor Dean
presented chapter five of Revelations and did an excellent job. On the way home
we stopped to get groceries at Winn Dixie. It was a long day and was ready for
bed.

Cheri
drove the car for the first time today going to the pool for her exercise
class. I went through the stuff that was in the van; I threw away most of the
stuff and put a few things in the new car when Cheri got home. Cheri busied
herself doing some house work and I spent the rest of the morning reading and
trying to figure out how things work in the car. I have found out that I am not
smarter than a fifth grader. After lunch we decided to go for a ride and figure
out some more of the stuff on the car. Cheri wanted to go to a quilt shop
anyway so we headed to Plant City. We are really happy with the car, the last
time we had a new one was in 1983. When we got home I was ready to rest as my
brain was on overload. Cheri was busy in the sewing room with the fabric she
bought today. Mike and Pam came over at 4:30 pm to see our new car and then we
went downtown for supper at Manolo’s Italian restaurant. They have discontinued
their early bird special for the summer so it was a little pricy but still
good. We took our car so we could go for a little ride after supper around Zephyrhills
and back to our place to play cards. Pam and Cheri won every game, not a good
night for Mike and me.

Cheri
didn’t have any pool exercise this morning as Mike and Mary had to take their
dog to the vet. Cheri has been busy getting ready for Larry and Denise as they
are coming on Thursday to spend some time with us while looking for a winter
home to buy. I went out and put up the solar rope light and then started to
work on my shop cabinet. Back on June 24th we ordered a new Honda
Civic car and the sales manager told us he would give us a call on the 27th
to let us know when it would be built and delivered. Well Friday came and went
without a call; I wasn’t happy but thought that I would wait a few more days.
Well by July 4th we still hadn’t hear anything so I sent an e-mail
to letting him know how unhappy we were. I got an e-mail back that I wasn’t
happy about and he said that he would call us on Monday with an answer. Around
11:30 am today we get a call from him telling us our car would be there this
afternoon. They found one over in Orlando and had it brought over. So long
story short at 8:30 pm we arrived home with our new car. They never told us but
what I think happened was we got lost in the process and the car never got
ordered. So to make up for it they traded a higher end car for ours from a
dealer in Orlando.

Our
Sundays are pretty much the same every Sunday. We picked up Grandma and took
her to church with us. We had a guest speaker today who gave a wonderful testimony
of his life. After church seven of us went for lunch at a new place in Wesley
Chapel called the City Grill. Cheri and I split a Cuban sandwich that was very
good. It was near 1:00 pm when we got home and the NASCAR race was on from the
last night rain delay. So I spent the afternoon watching the race and Cheri
spent a little time in the sewing room and then watched some of the race with
me. We got more rain this afternoon and evening. I checked the rain gauge and
got only a ¼ inch, thought it was going to me a lot more.

Cheri
and I went out for breakfast this morning over at Rick’s restaurant on the
other side of town. My breakfast was good but Cheri said hers wasn’t so good.
As long as we were on that side of town I filled up the van using our Winn
Dixie rewards and got 20 cent off each gallon. Then we went to Lowe’s to pick
up materials for my next project. I want to build a cabinet that will be on
wheels so I can move it around. It will have a work top and a place to store my
saws and other wood working tools. When we got home I told Cheri I was going to
take the day off and do nothing. Cheri headed to the sewing room to work on her
Christmas wall hanging. I headed to the recliner to relax for the day. Well
that lasted only about an hour and felt guilty not doing something. So I went
out to the shop and then stated putting up the last solar light in the carport
when it started to rain. So back in the shop to check out the battery pack on
the solar light. I end up putting the batteries on the charger as they were
dead from not being used for over a year. So I decided to start on my cabinet
project. I got my power minter saw out and once again I could get it to work.
So I told Cheri I was going to Lowe’s to buy a new one. When I got back home with
the saw, check everything over and was ready to start my project when another
rain storm came though so I call it a day. I checked on Cheri and she had the
last panel done and was in the process of sewing all six of them together. She
still has more to do before it will be done. I took a shower and got ready for
the NASCAR race. Well the rain that went through here must have headed to
Daytona as the race was in a rain delay and finally postponed it until 11:00 am
tomorrow. I checked the rain gauge and received another ¾ inch of rain today.

Happy
fire cracker day to everyone, for Cheri and me it was just another day. Cheri
did laundry and worked in the sewing room. I worked outside getting the rain
gutters cleaned out. Then I put up some solar rope lights under the new
awnings. While I was putting up the lights I see the golf cart parade coming
down the street so I went and got Cheri so she could watch them come by all
decorated up, when they went by the threw us beads and candy. After lunch I was
going to put up another solar rope light and it stated to rain so I quit for
the day. After taking a shower I settled in to the recliner to read and Cheri
joined me as she said she needed a break from the sewing room. It wasn’t long
and we both were taking a nap. Then we watch two old John Wayne movies. The first
one was The Hurricane Express which was made in 1932 and the other one was Blue
Steel made in 1934. It was funny watching them to see the old cars and horses
going so fast. It rained all afternoon and into the evening. I checked the rain
gauge and we got over inch and a half of rain. When we went to bed we could
hear fireworks going off all around us.

It
was laundry day for Cheri, she does some on Thursday and the rest on
Fridays. She got a call from Grandma letting
us know that she needed groceries. So Cheri went to check on her and to get her
grocery list and then to Wal-Mart for the groceries plus she had medicine ready
to be picked up. Cheri spent the rest of her time in the sewing room working on
the last panel of her Christmas wall hanging. I spent the day working on the security
golf cart. My half day project turned into a two day project. There was a lot
of extra work that needed to be done that I wasn’t aware of. I finally finished
around 3:00 pm, was too tired to clean up the shop after I got done, something
to do tomorrow. When I came in the house
there was that good aroma from the pork roast Cheri had going in the crook pot
for supper. We also had rain showers off and on this afternoon and then around
5:30 pm we got a really hard rain and lasted for about an hour. I just checked
the rain gauge and we got a little over an inch and a half of rain.

I
was up early this morning had trouble sleeping; my mind wouldn’t shut down so I
could get into a deep sleep. I kept thinking about the working on the golf
cart. Shortly after Cheri headed to the pool this morning I went down and got
the Security golf cart and brought it back home so I could work on it. I had
figured I would be done by early afternoon. It turned out to be a bigger jog
than I thought it would be. I quit working on it a little past 3:00 pm. I
needed to take a shower and get cleaned up for our Wednesday night Bible study.
Plus I wanted to rest for a while before we left. Cheri did her normal
Wednesday house cleaning. She does a little of the house cleaning each day that
way she doesn’t have to spend a whole day cleaning. She also went and got
groceries at Winn Dixie as they had a lot of two for one sale today. This
afternoon she continued working in the sewing room. We left the house at 5:30
pm to meet Ron & Sandy and Craig & Michelle at Beef O Brady’s near the
church for supper. We drove though a really hard rain storm on the way and
could hardly see where we were going but was over by the time we got to Beef O
Brady’s. Pastor Dean did an excellent job helping us understand chapters three
and four of Revelations.

Well
June is in the history books, I feel like I am on a slippery slope traveling downhill
and time is going faster and faster (something about getting old). We were on
the road at 10:15 am heading to Wesley Chapel where Cheri had an appointment.
Then we headed to Tampa where I had a 1:30 pm appointment. We had just enough
time between appointments to get a quick bit to eat at Burger King. We probably
wouldn’t have stopped there but Cheri had a coupon to buy one meal and get one
free. After all was said and done we were back home by 3:00 pm. After supper we
made a trip to Wal-Mart as we needed some coffee and I wanted to pick up some
LED lights for the security golf cart.

Gay June-30-14

Things got back to normal today as
Cheri headed out for her pool exercise and I did my exercises. After all of
that it was time to get some work done. Cheri did some house cleaning and then
to the sewing room where she is working on the last panel for her Christmas
wall hanging. I had a lot of washed gravel left over from the flower bed
project so I dump it along the fence behind the house. So I took some of the treaded
lumber I had and started to build a border around the dumped gravel. I was
short one piece of lumber and had to go and get that at Lowe’s. So in the end
the additional rock garden that I didn’t know we would have cost us less than
five dollars. By the time I got done with that project I was ready for a shower
and the recliner for the rest of the day. A little later Cheri joined me and we
both finished reading books today. We had left over Jambalaya from our dinner
yesterday for supper and still have enough for another meal.
