Gay July-30-14

Ok
today is my day to use my new paint sprayer to paint the primer on the tool
cabinet. First I must tell you that I hate to paint. Ok with that said let’s
get started. The directions tell me there is going to be some over spray so I
laid a large trap on the floor of the carport. Then I got the tool cabinet on
the tarp upside down so I can pray the bottom first I also laid newspaper
around it for the over spray. I got a gallon of primer that I need to pour into
the quart and half cup of the sprayer. I didn’t have a funnel handy so I use a
measuring cup that I had in the garage. Well that didn’t work out as well as I
got paint all over the sprayer, work bench and down the side of the gallon of
paint. (Did I mention I hate painting?) Ok now after cleaning up some of the
paint I spilled I was ready to do a test on a piece of cardboard. That went
well so I started the spraying on the tool cabinet. Wow before I knew it I was
out of paint and I also had some runs in the paint plus I had a lot of over
spray. So it was back to the shop to fill up the paint cup. This time I got a
funnel from Cheri to fill the paint cup, which worked much better. I did some
adjustment on the spray gun so it wouldn’t spray so much. This time the
spraying went much better but still had over spray. The total time of spraying
was about 5 minutes. Ok now it is time to clean up the spray gun and I still
managed to spill more paint on the floor of the shop and on myself. (Did I
mention I hate painting?) I ended up with paint all over me and the spray gun.
I think it took me an hour to get things cleaned up. I still have to turn the
tool cabinet over so I can prime the rest of it. Now it was time for lunch and
not sure I wanted to go back outside. I did go out and checked the paint and
was mostly dry but decided to wait until tomorrow to finish the priming. I must
say that I do like the way the sprayer worked and the finish was great. I think
I will still hate painting tomorrow. Now it was time to head for the shower to
see if I could get the paint off of me. I did another favorite thing this
afternoon (not) going to Wal-Mart with Cheri to get groceries and pick up
medicine for Grandma. We also go groceries for ourselves. We got a call from
Larry and Denise around 5:00 pm telling us that they should get here around
8:00 pm and they arrived 8:30 pm. We had a good visit and talked about the new
house. At 10:00 pm we called it a night as Larry and Denise were very tired
form their two day of nonstop driving to get here.
