It is still cold here and that is the excuse I am using for being slow about getting around this morning. By 10:00 am I was ready to do something and then thought it’s hardly worth doing anything before lunch. Getting old really sucks. Cheri didn’t feel like doing much today either. I did get the tools unloaded out of the car and put away and got the bird feeder filled. This afternoon I made a trip to Lowe’s to get new water fillers for our drinking water, new air filter for the furnace, and some screws to replenish the one’s I used at Darren’s. Yes I did get the new filters installed. That pretty much took care of my day. Cheri did do some ironing along with some cleaning. The rest of the day was spent napping and watching TV. I think we took turns napping so we could tell each other what was happing in the shows were watching.

It is another 43 degree cold morning and a high of 59 for the day. Grandma told us that she wasn’t going to church as it as it was too cold for her. We have another week of this winter weather and then it should be better. Pastor Randy had a very good message this morning about group praying. For Sunday school we have a new study book: Disciples Path- The Journey. The lesson today was about making God the center of our lives. Charlie did an excellent job of presenting the lesson and bring out things that we hadn’t thought about. It was near 1:00 pm when we got home. It was time to relax as Cheri and I are still trying to get caught up on our resting. We watched a little TV this afternoon before heading back to church at 5:00 pm to hear the Rob Mills Family and now have changed their name to The Sound. They have a wonderful music ministry. For more information click on this link: www.thesound.org  It was around 7:30 pm when we arrived back home. A little more TV and we called it a night.

I didn’t get up until 7:00 am, can’t remember the last time I slept in so late. Cheri was also slower getting up. We both are still trying to get caught up on our rest. It was 43 degrees this morning and a stiff breeze. We had planned on going to the kumquat festival in Dade City today but decided it was too cold for us. I was also going to unload all the tools from the car that we took to Darren’s but didn’t feel like doing that either. Cheri did some more laundry and made another valentine wreath for the front door. I did some computer work. This afternoon we spent time in Bible study and getting ready for our Sunday school lesson. We tried to watch some TV shows that we had recorded and both of us had trouble staying awake. That is pretty much the way our day went.

Cheri and I both got up tired this morning. In fact I snored so much that Cheri had to get up and go to the other bedroom to sleep. I took Cheri for her 9:00 am haircut and then after dropping her off at home I went and got my haircut. I was only back home a short time before Roger and Pat arrived (Cheri and Pat were fiends before I knew Cheri). We had a great visit and then went out to Sunrise Restaurant for lunch. After lunch we took them over Ollie’s to do some shopping. Then back home for some more visiting. After they left we went over to Grandma’s to see how she was doing and to get her grocery list. Then to Wal-Mart for her groceries. By the time we got everything done it was 6:00 pm when we got home. Because we had a big lunch we settled for an English muffin with peanut butter and a couple of cookies for supper. We watch a little TV and was in bed a little past 9:00 pm.

I put in a bad night along with Cheri. I woke up at 2:30 am and couldn’t go back to sleep and Cheri woke up around 3:00 am. We finally got up at 3:45 am. Cheri was ready to spend some more time with Wyatt before Brooke left with him at 6:30 am heading for day care and then to work. Daren left for work around 7:00 am. It took me a couple of hours to get all my tools loaded into the car and get the garage cleaned up. While I was doing that Cheri was busy doing some cleaning and packing our clothes. Checked the traffic before we got on the road and there was an accident on highway 400 with two of four lanes closed. We left at 9:10 am and did get into some very slow moving traffic from the accident. After that traffic move well. When we got on I-85 we got in the HOV lane and stayed in that all the way out of Atlanta which really helped. We stopped in Macon at Applebee’s for lunch and then about 50 miles north of Florida for gas and one more stop at the first Florida rest area to do some walking as I was very tired and needed to get woke up. We got home at 5:10 pm. Cheri fixed us some soup for supper and unpacked all the clothes and put away the suitcases. We were both exhausted and were in bed by 9:00 pm.

Cheri was able to take care of Wyatt today as she only had some minor painting to do which she could do while Wyatt napped. I had trouble getting myself motivated today, so it was near 8:00 am before I got started working. I started with the ceiling around the lights which I thought I was done with but needed another thin coat of plaster before Cheri could paint. I needed some glue for the bathroom floor so I made a trip to Home Depot to get that along with an in floor electrical outlet. When I got back I went right to work on the flooring. With the flooring done I needed some additional base board and shoe base molding. So it was back to Home Depot one more time. While I was gone Cheri got the ceiling painted. When I got back I watched Wyatt while Cheri painted the moldings I just got. I had a few other things to do while the paint dried. Then it was time to finish the trim work. It was 7:00 pm when I finally got done. All that is left is the room with the bathtub and toilet is and a piece of molding in the loaf which Darren has to order, something for another time. Darren order in pizza for supper. After supper I took a nice hot shower and was ready for bed. I checked and had laid 383 square feet of flooring.

Happy birthday to our son Darren. Cheri was on Wyatt duty again today and is very happy about taking care of him. She did do some touch up painting when Wyatt was napping. I worked on completing the loft flooring and all the shoe molding. I still have to rewire the outlet in the floor and install some trim along the railing and the top step of the stairs. We have a piece of transition strip that I think will work along the railing. I also got a start on the flooring in the bathroom. A lot of cutting and fitting around three doors. Lunch time Cheri ordered an ice cream birthday cake from DQ. So at 3:00 pm I took a much needed break to go and pick it up. I finally quit at 4:30 pm. The energy tank went dry. I took a long hot shower and felt much better. We wanted to take the kids out for dinner but Wyatt has a cold and has been pretty fussy at times. So we ordered a nice dinner from one the restaurants that is close by. Darren and I went to pick it up. After a big meal we watch some TV before having birthday cake.

First I want to wish our grand daughter Cece a happy birthday. Cheri was up about half an hour before me and I got up at 5:30 am. After a much need coffee and a bagel it was time to get started on the loft flooring. Cheri got to keep Wyatt here today as she was free from work assignment. The first thing I did was put on a coat of plaster around two of the can lights from a mistake I made, one from the last time we were here and the one I put in last week. It took a while to get the sub floor ready for flooring. Then it took me awhile to get the cuts around the stairs and office door. Once that was done thing went well. I got as far as I could go because of having to move stuff to the other side of the room. Once I got everything moved it was 4:15 pm. It was time to take a shower and get ready to go over to Chris and Cheryl’s as they had invited us over for dinner. Brooke got home around 4:30 pm and Darren a short time later. Chris and Cheryl fixed a wonderful meal of beef roast with all the fixings along with biscuits, gravy, and beans. We had a wonderful visit getting caught up on what has been going on since the last time we were together. We were back home a little past 7:00 pm and watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Everyone was a little slower getting around this morning. I even had to push myself to get back to working in the office. The first thing we did today was to install the office door which took longer than I thought it would. Then it was time to install the baseboard and the shoe molding. Also finished up the electrical. It was after 1:00 pm when we finally took a lunch break. Cheri was busy with Wyatt and did some laundry as we are staying here longer than we thought. Brook was busy with her internet clothing. Cheri also started a pork loin in the crock pot to have for supper. This afternoon we moved things around in the loft so we could get the carpeting removed. It was after 4:00 pm when we finished and was ready to watch the Green Bay Packers play the Atlanta Falcons that Darren was recording. The Packers didn’t play very well and lost the game big time. Just has the game got over Cheri had supper ready and it was really good. After supper I took a nice hot shower and was ready to watch a little TV and have a bowl of Ice cream.

Darren didn’t get home from work until 12:30 am and has to go into work again today. Brooke has been busy with Wyatt and getting things ready for her internet clothing party. Cheri started painting at 7:30 am. I worked on getting the floor ready for the new flooring. I was about one third done by 12:30 pm and Cheri had just finished the painting except for some touch up painting after everything is done. So it was a good time to break for lunch. Darren came home while we were getting ready for lunch. After lunch Darren did the cutting and I did the laying of the flooring. As the afternoon dragged on I keep getting slower but managed to get the flooring done by 5:45 pm. I was really ready for a hot shower. While I showered Darren and Cheri went to Publix’s to get groceries and some soup and the makings for grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for supper. Darren and Cheri got back around 7:00 pm so it was a late supper. We watched a couple of TV shows and called it a night.

Cheri didn’t get have Wyatt today as she would be painting most of the day. By 6:30 am Brooke and Wyatt were out the door. Darren left at a little past 7:00 am. Around 8:00 am I headed up to the loft and got the office door ready for Cheri to paint the other side. Then she proceeded to put on the second coat of ceiling and wall paint on the office side. While she was doing that I was doing sanding on the other side so it would be ready for her. Around 11:30 am we were at a good stopping point so we took a break for lunch as Darren was going to have Jersey Mike’s subs delivered for us at noon. So we watched President Trump take the oath of the United States and heard his speech. I pray that he can really turn our country around. Cheri texted Darren to tell him the subs hadn’t come. He texted back saying time got away for him and forgot. So he said that they would be here at 1:00 pm. The rest was good and the wall I sanded got a chance to dry so when we were done eating Cheri put the primer coat on the loft side of the wall. I did the electrical work on the office side. So that wall is now done. I started cleaning up the floor to install the new flooring. After checking and cleaning the floor I could see some spots that needed to be filled so I headed over to Home Depot to pick up some filling compound. When I got back Cheri was done painting and said that she was going to take a shower. I did some patch work on the floor and at 4:00 pm I called it a day. Brooke and Wyatt got home a little past 4:00 pm. I headed for the shower which felt really good. Brooke mother stopped over to see us and was able to visit with her for a bit. Darren had ordered pizza for us this evening. His office is moving to a new building and still wasn’t home when we went to bed.

Cheri didn’t get to have Wyatt today as she was going to be busy most of the day painting. I got the rest of the office wall sanded and ready for Cheri to paint early this morning. While she was putting on the primer coat I finished plastering the loft side of the wall. Then I set up the saw horses so Cheri could paint one side of the office door and the door frame. While she was painting that I went to Home Depot to get a quart of ceiling paint. When I got back she was just finishing up with the door so we took a break for lunch. After lunch Cheri put on a coat of the ceiling paint and a coat of finish paint on the office wall. While she was painting I removed the carpet from the en-suite and closet. We both got done about the same time. Cheri head for a hot shower and I did some clean up. It was a little past 4:00 pm when I got done. I was also ready for a hot shower. Brooke and Wyatt got home around 4:30 pm and Darren not until near 6:00 pm. we ordered in Mexican food by way of Uber Food. We watched one show on TV and called it a night.

Cheri was happy today because there wasn’t any painting to be done which met that she would be able to have Wyatt here all day. After Brooke and Darren left for work I went right to work on putting on the last coat of plaster in the office and a second coat on the loft side. I also had to get the can lights hooked to a switch in the office. Then I was able to do some finish work on the ceiling in the office and have that ready to paint. I got most of the wall in the office sanded and ready for paint. The part near the ceiling wasn’t dry so that will have to wait until in the morning. I got things cleaned up and Brooks backdrop set up so that she can take pictures this evening for her internet clothing. I was done at 3:00 pm wasn’t able to do anymore today. While Wyatt was napping Cheri was busy getting some bacon wrapped chicken fixed to put in the oven at 4:00 pm which had to cook for an hour. Brooke got home at 4:30 pm and said that she even drove into the day care to pick up Wyatt and then realized that he wasn’t there today. Darren got home a little before 5:00 pm. Supper was the bacon wrapped chicken along with baked asparagus and ice cream later while watching TV. Once again we all called it a night early.

It was another busy day for all of us. Grandma Cheri didn’t have Wyatt today as she was going to be painting and not able to do both so Brooke took him to day care. They left at 6:30 am and Darren left around 7:30 am. I put on a second coat of plaster on the office wall side and the first coat on the loft side. Then I made a temporary table out of the sheet rock that was left over so Cheri would have a place to paint all of the base and shoe moldings. While Cheri was painting I install the two additional can lights which turned out to be a big job getting the wire fished through the ceiling. Then it was back to more of the second coat of plaster on the ceiling side of the office wall. Cheri got all the trim painted and I tore apart the table I made and moved some of it up in the office so Cheri would have it to paint the office door. Brooke and Wyatt got home around 4:30 pm and Darren around 5:00 pm. I was done for the day just before Darren got home. Darren and Cheri went to Publix’s to get some groceries and then Cheri and Darren fixed an Alfredo chicken casserole for supper which was really good (Darren’s recipe). Come 9:00 pm we were all ready to call it a night.

Brooke had the day off except that she had to go for school and was back in a couple of hours. She worked on her home clothing that she sells on the internet. So Grandma Cheri was on Wyatt duty today. Darren left for work a little past 7:00 am. I was up putting on a coat of plaster by 7:30 am. I was hoping it would dry so I could put on another coat today but that didn’t happen. I worked on the other side of the wall getting the insulation installed and then putting up the rest of the sheet rock. By 3:30 pm I was pooped and not able to do anymore today. After I rested for a while I headed to the shower. I felt much better after that. Darren got home around 5:00 pm. Darren order subs from Jersey Mike’s for supper. After supper Darren and I went to Sherman Williams to get paint and then to Home Depot to get more plaster, base board, and shoe molding. It was around 8:00 pm when we got home. We watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Brooke and Cheri were busy taking care of Wyatt as he has a cold and teeth coming in so he was really fussy today. As long as Cheri was here to help with Wyatt Brooke took the afternoon to spend some time with her friends. Darren and I went right to work around 8:00 am. The first thing we did was get all the carpet out of the new office area. Then it was back to getting the rest of the wall framing done. Then we make a trip to Home Depot to get the electrical supplies we need. When we got home we took a very late lunch break. After getting the electrical roughed in it was time to start putting up sheet rock. We quit at 4:30 pm as it was time to settle in and watch the Green Bay Packers play the Dallas Cowboys. It was an exciting game to watch and it was even better because the Packers won. Late this afternoon Darren made a batch of White Bean Chicken Chili which we had while watching the football game and it was excellent. After the game I took a nice hot shower and felt much better. Darren and Cheri were having a really hard time with Wyatt, all wanted to do was cry. They finally had to let him cry himself to sleep, I pray that he will be feeling better tomorrow.

Darren and I headed out early to go and pick up the flooring. It was a two hour round trip to get it. Then we headed over to Lowe’s to get the building materials we needed (pre hung door, installation, two by fours. Sheet rock, electrical materials, and other things). Well when we got to Lowe’s the first thing we did was to rent a truck to haul everything and was told that their truck wasn’t working (I think the person we talked to just didn’t want to be bother with the paper work). So we headed over to Home Depot where we got the truck and all the materials we needed. So I guess Lowe’s lost was Home Depot’s gain. When we were done with all of this we had a very late lunch and then went work and started the wall framing. By 5:00 pm I was done for the day. Cheri was busy taking care of Wyatt as Brooke had some errands to run and was getting things ready for her internet party. Cheri also put a beef roast in the crockpot along with carrots and potatoes. Supper was a little after 6:00 pm while watching the Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Sea Hawks. A short time later I headed for a hot shower and then to bed. It was a good day and got more done then I thought we would.

We were up before 5:00 am and on the road by 6:00 am heading to Roswell GA to spend some time with Darren, Brooke, and baby Wyatt. Traffic was light and moving really good until we got up around Peery Ga where we stopped and got gas and a bite to eat at Wendy’s, A half hour later we were back on the road. The traffic was heaver but moved well until we got in downtown Atlanta where we had some stop and go traffic for about four miles and then it moved again. Our total trip time was seven hours for 457 miles which included the stop we made. Darren and Brooke didn’t get home until around 4:30 pm. Which gave me time to check out exactly where the new wall was going to be placed as it has to match up with the ceiling joist. I also figured out how to get electrical in the new wall. After Darren and Brooke got home Cheri was busy with baby Wyatt and excited to take care of him. Darren and I went over the plans and material for the new office and even assembled a new office chair. Brooke was busy getting things ready for her clothing party that she is having tomorrow. After supper Darren and I went the grocery store for a few things Cheri wanted for meals she is going to fix. Cheri and were both tired from the trip and called it a night around 9:00 pm.

This morning we made a trip to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s medicine and groceries. It wasn’t a good place to be today as it was very busy and hard to get around. We were glad to get done and out of there. We made a stop to fill the car with gas to be ready for tomorrow. We made a quick stop at Grandma’s to drop off her groceries and medicine and then home for lunch and Packing the car. I needed a lot of tool and have the trunk full so all the clothes will have to be in the back seat. We plan on being on the road early tomorrow. It took us most of the afternoon to get everything packed. We hope to be at Darren and Brooke’s early in the afternoon. Darren texted me yesterday and said that we have to pick up the flooring on Saturday. I posted the picture of the wreath that Cheri made and today she wasn’t happy with it because it didn’t look like a heart. So she did some work on it and now looks better so I will post another picture of it. We passed this evening on the Life Action Summit at church this evening. We were both just too tired to make it. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

Cheri called Denise this morning made plans for Denise to come over to make Valentine wreaths. So she was busy getting things set up before Denise got here. I headed outside to start putting thing together that need to take to Darren and Brooke’s for the office project. Larry came with Denise so Larry and I decided to take motorcycle ride while the Cheri and Denise made wreaths. Larry and I rode down to the Brandon Harley dealer. We didn’t need anything but just a place to ride to and dream about having a new motorcycle. While we were there we eat that the restaurant that is next door. While we were there I got a call from Cheri and said that she and Denise were going to Dade City for a bit and wanted us to come home to play cards. So after we eat we headed back home. We played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. It was a close game that Cheri and Denise won. It was another evening with the Action Life Summit at church. We came away with more of God’s word.

Cheri was busy this morning getting her house work done as we had friends coming over this afternoon. Skip and Joy wanted to bring their cousin over to see Cheri’s quits. I decided it was a good day to go out and rake up the leaves that has fallen. It was a nice cool morning and nice to be outside. I got five bags of leaves raked up and still have more to do. I think I would have gotten done but the repairman from Direct TV came around 11:00 am. He realigned the dish and couldn’t really find anything else wrong. Skip and Joy came with their cousin at 1:00 pm. she enjoyed seeing all of Cheri’s quilt. After they left Cheri was back in the sewing room working on another Taggie blanket that she finished this afternoon. I did some computer work for a while and then sat down to relax. Later Cheri headed to the kitchen and made a new recipe called Taco Pizza Rolls, was very good. This evening it was back to church for more of the Action Life Summit, another good night of spending time in God’s word.

On the way to church yesterday the tire alarm came on so this morning I headed once again over to Tire Kingdom. It turned out that there was another small hole next to the one the repaired before. Long story short I ended up having to buy a new tire. I never like to put on one tire by itself, always do it in pairs, so I bought a second tire. I also had the car alinement checked and the rear needed to be lined up. Cheri was busy with house cleaning this forenoon and then this afternoon started making another Taggie blanket. This afternoon I spent a lot of time on the phone with Bright House as our Direct TV bill was going up by over 45 dollars per month. After a long talk with Bright House getting all the charges for what I wanted and was ready to make the change. I was told all the prices and even repeated them back to him and he said that was correct. Then he put me on hold to check something and when he came back and said that everything was good and the installer would be here Thursday. Then before hanging up a quoted the price once again and it was over 10 dollars more. So I told him to cancel everything. Then I called Direct TV and after a long discussion with them I got our bill lowered by 50 dollars per month. This evening we met Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam at Terra Healthy Fresh Food restaurant for dinner. From there we headed to church for the Life Action Summit. It was another good night learning about God’s love.

It was 33 degrees this morning and the high temp was 52 degrees which is the coldest for this winter. Tomorrow doesn’t look to be much better. It was just Cheri and me for church today. The church is having Life Action do a week long revival and there wouldn’t be any notes for Grandma. We didn’t have any Sunday school today. Life Action had a different message for each service. After church we stopped to see Jan as she wasn’t in church this morning. She said that she was really tired and just getting over a cold. Cheri fixed wings for lunch and Pizza for supper. We watched a couple of shows before heading back to church for more of the Life Action Summit. For more information on Life Action click on this link www.lifeaction.org. It was around 8:30 pm when we arrived home. We settled in to watch the Green Bay Packer football game that I had recorded. The way the game started I was really worried but in the end the Packers played a good game and came away with a win. Thank you God for guiding us today and being part of the Life Action Summit.

I was up a little after 3:00 am, not able to sleep as I was still hurting from the power washing. Cheri also put in a bad night and think it was probably because of all my rolling around trying to find a way to lay without hurting. So Cheri was also up before 6:00 am. I had been wanting to go out for breakfast but not wanting to wait in line for a table. So this morning we headed out before 7:00 am for breakfast. We eat at the Sunrise restaurant which is our favorite place for breakfast. We were at the restaurant at 6:50 am and doesn’t open until 7:00 am but there were already around ten people already in the restaurant. By 7:30 am the place was full and people were standing in line. After breakfast we headed over to Wal-Mart for a few things we needed. It was nice not fighting the crowd by being early. Cheri also wanted to go to Hobby Lobby to get a couple of things she needs to make a valentine wreath for Brooke. We had to wait about five minutes for the store to open at 9:00 am. Out last stop was Dollar Tree before heading home. Cheri headed for her sewing room and I worked on getting the TV connected to Amazon Prime so we can stream TV shows and movies. It took me a while go figure it out but now have it connected. So we watched a couple of movies. The temp was 69 degrees when I got up this morning and that was the high for the day. It is supposed to get down to 34 degrees tonight which is way too cold for Florida. We also called Darren to make plans for our trip to build the wall he wants for an office in their loft.

Things got going early today. Cheri had her Friday laundry going by 7:00 am. By 8:30 am I had the power washer ready to put in the trunk of the car with Cheri’s help as it was too heavy for me to do by myself. Then we headed over to Grandma’s to power wash her trailer. I was getting things ready to start when Cheri got a call from Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go to Tampa for the home show. We said that we would pass as I wanted to get the power washing done. Cheri headed over to Hobby Lobby to see about some material she wanted for making Taggie blankets. I just got a good start when Larry and Denise showed up. Larry said that he would help me while Denise and Cheri went shopping. Larry did all the scrubbing while I did the power washing. Larry also fixed a cabinet door for Grandma and even went to Lowe’s to get some new cabinet hinges and gas for the power washer. While doing all of that he was still able to keep ahead of me with the scrubbing. It was 2:30 pm when we got done and then we adjusted Grandma’s patio door and also cleaned the heating and cooling filter. We were just finishing up when I got a call from Cheri wanting to meet Larry and me at Pizza Hut for a late lunch and early dinner. After having Pizza we went over to Larry and Denise’s to play one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Larry and I won by about the same margin that Cheri and Denise beat us yesterday. We were home by 6:00 pm and I was ready for a good hot shower. After showering I settle in the recliner with Cheri and tried to watch a TV but was soon asleep. We finally went to bed around 9:00 pm and tried to watch some more TV in bed with no success. I did wake up several times in the night and heard it raining. Just checked the rain gauge and received a little less than ½ inch. Things are starting to green up from the last rain so this one should really help. I am ready to see green grass again.

Cheri was busy getting her Thursday morning house work done along with laundry. I made a trip to Lowe’s to get a piece of plywood I needed to continue working on the rocking motorcycle. Cheri and I made a trip to the hospital in Dade City to see a church friend that had been admitted for a badly swelled leg and thought that he may have had a blood clot. But it turned out to be a skin infection and was being released shortly after we visited him. After lunch Cheri headed for her sewing room and I went outside to work on the rocking motorcycle. Around 2:00 pm Larry and Denise stopped by for a visit. We visited for a while and then played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Cheri and Denise won. They whipped Larry and me really bad. After they left we tried to watch a little TV before supper which turned out to be more about napping then watching TV. After supper it was more TV and still tired so we called it a night early.

After Cheri got her Wednesday house work done she disappeared in her sewing room to spend the day working on the Taggie blanked for Wyatt. I worked outside on the rocking motorcycle. I got several more pieces cut out and still have a long way to go. Cheri fixed bake potatoes for supper and I grilled a couple sirloin steaks. They were very good and much better than the steaks we had at the restaurant last week and for a lot less money. This evening we were up to Mike and Pam’s for Bible study. We are using Dr. Larry Ollison’s book “Unlocking the Mysteries of the Holy Spirit”. We are now studying the Nine Gifts of the Spirit. After the Bible study we played a game of Phase Ten which Pam won. Thank you Pam and Mike for a wonderful evening learning Gods word.

Larry and Denise picked us up at 10:00 am and headed for the flea market. We checked on the strawberries and bought a half flat to split with Larry and Denise. The main reason I wanted to go was to get my knife sharped but the guy that does it wasn’t there today. I also bought a few Philips head bits for my impact driver. I think it was around 11:30 pm when we got home. After Larry and Denise left Cheri and I made a trip to the bank and to Publix’s for groceries. While Cheri was getting the groceries I walked over to Staples to get some graft paper. I wanted to draw up the wall design for that I will be building for Darren and Brooke. We had a late lunch when we got home. Cheri said that she wasn’t in the mood for any work in the sewing room so she took it easy the rest of the day. I did get the wall design drawn up. By the time I got that done it was too late to do anything else which was ok as I was ready to join Cheri in the recliner. We watched a movie but in my case it was only half a movie because I fell asleep. We had leftover barbeque bean soup and fresh strawberry shortcake for supper. It has been a long time since we have had strawberry shortcake, sure was good. Late this afternoon we had a rain shower and again during the night and I checked and received just over half an inch. It is so dry here and everything has turned brown. I remember it being so dry like it has been this fall and winter.

One thing I failed to mention Yesterday was on the way to Church the tire waring alarm came on again. So the saga with Tire Kingdom continues. I headed out this morning to get the tire repaired again. This is the second time that this has happened to a tire on the car. The manager told me that a tire patch not sealing was a very rare thing. He didn’t know what to say when I told him that it happened with another tire I got repaired there. Cheri was busy this morning making a big crock pot of barbeque bean soup with some of the leftover ham from Christmas. So we had a wonderful aroma of that throughout the house today. After getting the soup started Cheri headed to the sewing room where she has started a new project making a Taggie Blanket for baby Wyatt. I worked outside on the rocking motorcycle. I got two of the main parts cutout and still have one more of them but need a sheet of ¾ inch birch plywood. I also got a couple of the pieces for the gas tank done. It is a slow process learning how to use the router. It is fun to see the results of what I have done, plus I am enjoying the project. We had some of the bean soup for supper which was very good. This evening Larry and Denise came over to play cards. We played two game of Hand, Knee, and Foot and everyone was a winner.

Happy New Year to everyone and may you all have a blessed year. I couldn’t think of a better way to start the New Year than going to church and Sunday school to be in God’s house to spend time with him. Grandma also went with us. After we got home from church we changed our clothes and then headed to Lakeland. Cheri wanted to go to Jo-Ann fabrics and I wanted to go to Harbor Freight and Lowe’s. I also fill the car with gas which is now $2.39 per gallon. Gas has gone up 45 cents in the last month and a half. When I went to pick up Cheri she was the next person in the checkout line, good timing. Cheri got the material she wanted and I got a drill press at 25 percent off, so we both came home happy. It was time for pizza when we got home, it has been a while since we have had pizza at home. We watched and napped through a couple more Christmas movies. With Christmas gone by we must be getting a head start on Christmas movies for the coming Christmas. The cold spell is over and the warm weather is back.

Look who sat up for the first time by himself

Cheri and I were both up very early this morning not being able to sleep (too many aches and pains). It is hard to believe this is the last day of 2016. For the most part this year was better than last year, which is good. Cheri asked me what I was going to do today and I told her I wasn’t doing any more work for the rest of the year and she said me either. Darren and Brooke got us an Amazon Echo for Christmas and it arrived last night. So I spent most of the day getting it set up to link up to our phones on the calendar and shopping list. Probably was something that a fifth grader could do in a half hour. We are now having fun asking Alexa (the Amazon Echo’s name) different things like playing music, adding stuff to our grocery list, and even telling us a joke. I also got the new outdoor temp transmitter programed to the indoor unit and worked fine on the kitchen table but not working after I took it outside. I will check it out next year. Later this afternoon we watch more movies we had recorded. We spent a quiet New Year’s Eve at home and were in bed by 10:00 am. I did wake up at 11:58 pm to all the fireworks so I guess you could say I was awake for the New Year.
