Busy day in the sharps
house today. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work and then working on
mending Wyatt’s blanket. I had a doctor’s appointment first thing this morning.
After my appointment I took the car to get an estimate for the fender repair
which was $542.00. Then made a stop at the police station to get the accident
report. It was around 12:30 pm when I finally got home. After lunch I composed
a letter to send to the person that hit our car. Then it was a trip to the post
office to send the letter by registered mail with a return signature so I know
that he got the letter. I was back home an able to rest for an hour before it
was time to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. After I got Grandma back
home I went to get a haircut and a stop at Publix’s for some ice cream. After
all was said and done it was supper time when I got home. Cheri said that she
got Wyatt’s blanket done. Cheri had a pork loin cooking in the crockpot for
supper. We even got a five minute shower this afternoon, need a lot more rain
as it is so dry.

I was back doing my
morning walk and it was tough this morning as I am still tired from the trip.
Darren’s dog (Harper) chewed a hole in one of the baby blankets that Cheri made
for Wyatt, so she brought it home to see about repairing it. We went to
Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s medicine and groceries, still a lot of people in
Wal-Mart. After we got home I did a lot of internet searching for car parts
that I need for Darren’s Toyota 4 runner. After getting a list I made a trip
over to Auto Zone and got most of the parts I need, they did have to order a
couple of things that will be here in a few days. I have what I need to get the
project started. This evening we were invited over to Mike and Pam’s along with
Ron and Sandy for dinner. We had a good visit sitting around the kitchen table.
Thanks Mike and Pam for a wonderful evening. We watched a little TV when we got
home before calling it a night. Thank you God for good friends.

We didn’t know if we were
going to church until this morning as we needed to see if we were too tired to
go. Well we did go but was really tired when we got home. We should have gone
for groceries but too tired. Cheri did do laundry today to try and get caught
up with her house work. I watched some of the Indy 500 but couldn’t really get
into it so I did some price checking on the internet for replacement parts for
Darren’s 4 runner. Plan on putting in new brakes, shocks, struts, wiper blades,
air filter, spare tire, hoses, belts, oil change, and flush the cooling system.
I guess that will keep me busy for a few days. I need to get it done as Darren
is flying down on June 10th to drive it back to Roswell. I got a
text this evening from Darren telling me that he sold his jeep today with is
great news. Watched the NASCAR race until the rain delay and turned to watch a
couple of shows we had recorded before calling it a night.

I got up at 6:00 am and
Darren and Wyatt were already up. A little bit later Brooke was up and then
Cheri. Cheri and I are both tired from our long drive yesterday. Cheri helped
Darren and Brooke with house cleanup so Darren could take pictures for the realtor
to publish. I worked on the stair tread to finish where the new flooring meets
the top of the stairs. Then it was time to get the car packed up with things
that Darren wanted us to store for him along with things that Brooke gave
Cheri. We were on the road at noon. The only problem we had was a twenty minute
wait on I-475 for an accident. Other than that the traffic moved along really
well and not as heavy as I thought it would be. We made a stop at a McDonald’s
and the bathrooms were so dirty that I told Cheri we weren’t going to eat
there. I have a rule that if the bathrooms are dirty the kitchen will also be
dirty. So we filled the car with gas and headed on down the road for another
100 miles before we stopped again at McDonald’s which was really nice. We got
home at 7:15 pm. After getting the car unloaded and a few things put away it
was time to relax before calling it a night. Thank you God for safe travels and
a good vacation.

I woke up at 3:30 am and
couldn’t go back to sleep and decided to get and Cheri was also awake. So we were on the road at
4:45 am with a 728 mile trip for the day. We hadn’t even got a quarter mile
down the road when a deer came across in front of us and was a close call. I
guess you could say we were now wide awake. Traffic was heavy going into St
Louis but moved well. After getting through St Louis we stopped at a McDonald’s
for some coffee and breakfast. Within a half hour we were back on the road. Traffic
move well until we were 7 miles from our turn onto I-24 where there was stop
and go traffic because they had one of the lanes close for repair. When we got
into Kentucky we made a stop for gas. Our next event was about five miles from
I-65 and I-24 coming together going into Nashville. Once again in stop and go
traffic and that lasted all the way through Nashville. Then we were in a ten
mile back up of stop and go traffic getting into Chattanooga and until we got
on I-75. From there the traffic was heavy but moved well. We arrived at Darren
and Brooke’s at 5:15 pm, not bad for all the traffic backups and losing an
hour. When we were going into St Louis I saw the arch and woke Cheri up and
told her that if she looked she would be able to see it. She wanted to take a
picture with her phone but with all the building that got in the way and only a
short time she manage to take one out my side window in front of me. I was
surprised how will she did. Check it out.

We didn’t have any plans
for today except going to church this evening. We eat breakfast here and
finished up the food we had here. Later we headed out and did some shopping at
the Outlet Mall. I did find a pair of dress shoes and Cheri didn’t find
anything. After that we had a late lunch or early dinner. I wanted to have some
barbeque so we stopped at Bandanas BBQ. We both have that the pork lunch plate
and was very good with a lot of good smoked flavor. On the way back to the room
we stopped and filled the car with gas. We are going to try and get on the road
by 5:00 am because we will be losing an hour so need to get started earlier. At
6:15 pm we headed for church which is at 7:00 pm. Pastor Larry had a wonderful
message this evening and even got into a discussion with his son Robbie which
was very interesting. We stopped at McDonald’s on the way back to the room for chocolate
shake. It was 9:30 pm when we got back, time pack up and get ready to leave in
the morning.

The day didn’t go as we
had planned. For the last few days our mouths have been watering for the big
cinnamon buns at Stewarts restaurant and today was the day we were going to
have one. Well when we got there it was closed for remodeling. So we ended up
at Bob Evan’s as we didn’t see anything else for breakfast. We brought enough
home to have for breakfast tomorrow. After breakfast we drove over to the Main
Street Music Hall and got tickets for this evening show. Then we took a ride
through the state park that was close by. From there we went to Kohl’s so Cheri
could do some shopping and I also looked at new dress shoes. I found two
different pairs that I would have bought but didn’t have my size. When Cheri
got done shopping we went over to the theater to see about going to a movie
tomorrow but nothing that was on looked or sounded good. So we headed back to
the room to relax. We left again at 6:00 pm to go out for dinner at Li’l Rizzo’s,
good food. After dinner we headed to the Main Street Music Hall for the 8:00 pm
show. We saw this show six years ago with Mike and Pam. It is still the same
show with a few new things, good show and happy we went. It was 10:30 pm when
we arrived back at the room. We watched a little TV and called it a night. Cheri
told me the place we eat lunch yesterday was Mel’s Hard Luck Café, good thing I
have Cheri to keep me straight.

We were on the road at
8:30 am heading for Branson to see Moses’s at Sight & Sound Theater which
is 140 miles away. After picking up our tickets I took Cheri shopping at her
favorite quilt shop. When we got to where it was we found out it has moved to a
different place. After getting some directions we finally got there. Cheri
found a few things she like and now has some more quilt projects to work on. It
was a little past 1:00 pm time to have some lunch. We eat one of our favorite
place’s and I don’t even remember the name of it but it is an old fifties type
dinner with singing waiters and waitress. It is also in an area with shops that
Cheri like to shop at. It also is the place with the big chair where we always
have to have our picture taken when we are there. After shopping it was time to
go to the theater to see Moses’s. The show started at 3:30 pm and didn’t get
over until 6:00 pm. It was a very good show and happy we got a chance to see
it. It took us a while to get out of the parking lot and then stopped to fill
up the car with gas along with a stop at McDonald’s for a chocolate shake and
then on the road back to Osage Beach. We made really good time and got back at
8:30 pm. Cheri was happy because she got to see the last half of Dancing with
the Stars and really didn’t miss anything. We were surprised with who came in second
and somewhat surprised who won.

I tried to sleep in this
morning but no luck with the time change it has screwed things up for me. We
had coffee and a bowl of cereal before going down by the pool for free donuts
and coffee. We met some nice people from Iowa and had a nice visit with them.
Then it was time to get on the road heading north for the Mennonite area where
they have many different shops throughout the country side. It was fun checking
out all the different types of shops. We managed to get into three different
fabric shops for Cheri. She did buy some material from two of them. We eat
lunch at lunch at a Mennonite restaurant that was attached their house out in
the country only had five tables. We had ham with mashed potatoes and gravy. We
had homemade apple crunch with ice cream for dessert. We made a couple more
stops and then headed back to Osage beach. We stopped by the dam and could see
that a lot of the flood gates were open as they have had a lot of rain and the
water is very muddy which is why I haven’t taken many pictures. It was near
4:00 pm when we got back to the room. Once again we had soup and crackers for
supper and then settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars. Judge Cheri was
happy with the scores and is sad because we won’t be back from Branson in time
to see the final show tomorrow night.

Today was a very special
day for us as we went to Dr. Larry Ollison’s Walk on Water Church this morning.
During the music I felt the Holy Spirt come over me and what a wonderful
feeling that was. After the service we visited with Pastor Larry and told him
that we had come from Florida to have him pray for a complete healing of Cheri’s
eye. We also had him pray for our dear friend Mike who is back in the hospital with
another bladder infection. Pastor Larry introduced us to his wife Loretta and his
son Robbie. Then he gave us a tour of the church and up into the Watch tower
where he spends a lot of his quiet time with God. He gave us one of his books (Paradise
of God). We left the church filled with the Holly spirt. We eat lunch at the
Four Seasons Restaurant as we wanted some good barbeque pulled pork where they
cook their own pork. Once again we came away disappointed with our lunch. After
lunch we went back to the room to change clothes and then out to do some
shopping. On the way back to the room we stopped at the grocery store and
picked up a pizza to have for supper. The rest of the evening was spent
watching TV, sure do miss the DVR.

I was up early as I didn’t
sleep very well. Cheri had a better night’s sleep but got up with a sore throat.
After breakfast and coffee we head out to check things out. Our first check was
the church we are going to Sunday. We have been there before but was six years
ago and wanted to make sure we knew the way and how long it would take us to
get there. Next we headed to Menards which is a building supply store like Home
Depot and Lowe’s. There aren’t any Menards in the southern states. When we
lived in Wisconsin that is the store we got most of our building supplies. From
there we headed to Kay’s restaurant which we have never been to before and won’t
be going back again as it was ok but not what we liked. On the way back to the
room we stopped at the grocery store to get some more soup like we had
yesterday for supper this evening. Cheri settled in for a nap and I took a
short walk down by the water for some pictures. When I got back I tried to take
nap but that didn’t last long. This evening we watched the NASCAR race and then
some Home and Garden TV for Cheri.

We were up early as we had
400 miles left to drive. We had breakfast at the motel which was actually
pretty good. I guess I haven’t said where we were headed. We are going to Osage
Beach on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri where we will be staying for a week
in a timeshare that Mike and Pam give us to use. The GPS says we have over
seven hour to go and we want to be there at 4:00 pm. The rest of the trip went
well and had some rain again but nothing real bad. We got into Osage Beach at
2:30 pm an hour and a half early. So we stop and got a few groceries and filled
the car with gas. We were still an hour early for check in and they wouldn’t
let us check in early (too tired to do any exploring). So we sat in the car and
waited an hour. Then when we did go in to check in we were told that the room
wasn’t ready for us. We finally got to our room at 4:20 pm. We both rested for
a while before Cheri warmed up some soup we bought. It has been a long two days
of travel and are ready to relax for the next week. It has been four year since
we have had a vacation, you working people may say being retired we are on
vacation all the time but that just isn’t true. Thank you God for safe travels.

We were going to get up at
5:00 am but both of us were awake at 4:30 am so we got up. Still didn’t get on
the road until 6:12 am. Things went well for the trip today, not a lot of
traffic, and did drive through a couple of rain showers. We did a little over
600 miles today and will have just over 400 tomorrow. We drove for 11 hours and
was going to do 12 hours but we need gas for the car and there was a Holiday
Inn express right by the gas station. So after filling the car we went into the
Holiday Inn and was told that a room was $129. Being we haven’t stayed in a
motel for years I wasn’t sure what the price should be. But after using my VA
card we got a room with a king size bed for $88. Being we only have queen I
probably won’t be able to find Cheri. We walked about a block to a Burger King
and had chicken nuggets and chocolate shakes for supper. Oh yes I forgot to mention
that we are spending the night here in New Albany, Mississippi. Thank you God
for safe travels.
Gay May-17-17

My morning walk was much
easier this morning. We had an easy day planned, Cheri getting all the packing
done and me taking Grandma for her knee appointment. I picked up Grandma at 9:10
am and went for her appointment and had to wait over an hour for the doctor to
come in and we were her first appointment. On the way home I noticed a business
card under the windshield wiper and then forgot to remove it when I got home. Later
in the afternoon I went out to wash off all the love bugs before taking the car
through the car wash. When I spayed the windshield I see the card and it had
some writing on the back of it saying I saw someone damage your car and this is
the license number and my phone number. I checked the car and there was damage
to the right rear fender. So after cleaning off the love bugs I headed to the
police station. The officer filled out a case report and he had me call the
person that seen the accident. She told us all about what happened. Long story
short we have to wait to see what happens next. With all of this we were a half
hour late meeting Ron & Sandy and Mike & Pam for supper at BJ’s in
Wesley Chapel. We still had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine
that wasn’t in stock yesterday. Thank you God for the person that witnessed the
car accident and time spent with great friends.

My morning walk was almost
more than I could handle. My last walk was before we went to Darren and Brooke’s.
It was a busy day as we had a lot of things on our plate that we wanted get
done. Cheri started laundry early this morning and called Wal-Mart to order
Grandma’s medicine. She also had to call the doctor to get a prescription renewed.
After breakfast she had a hair appointment. I worked on the computer this
morning searching for an older Toyota 4 runner at would work for Darren to
drive to Mexico. I found four of them on Craigslist and called and left e-mails
for them. I heard back from two of them. After all the searching only one
turned out worth looking at. After Cheri returned from her haircut we headed to
Dade City to get the registrations renewed on the car, motorcycle, and Grandma’s
trailer. Then we went back to Zephyrhills to have lunch at Sunrise restaurant.
We were able to rest at home for an hour before we headed to Port Richey to
check out a 1997 Toyota 4 runner. After a lot of checking and driving I called
Darren and told him I thought this one would do the job. So he told me to go
ahead and buy it. It was almost 8:00 pm when we got home. This was the most
driving Cheri has done in over two years. Anyway the 4 runner in our driveway.
I will be doing some work on it before we take it up to Darren’s. Then we
headed to Wal-Mart to get Grandma’s medicine and groceries. It was 9:30 pm when
we finally got home. We were both hungry as we didn’t take time for supper.
Cheri had a bowl of cereal and I had an English muffin with peanut butter. Then
it was time for bed. Thank you God for helping us through a stressful day.

At 6:30 am it was time to
say goodbye to Brooke and Wyatt as it was time for Brooke to drop Wyatt off at
day care and then head to work. Then at 7:30 am it was time to say goodbye to
Darren. We had some breakfast and coffee
and waited until 9:00 am to leave so some of the morning traffic could clear
out. The first 8 miles the traffic was heavy but keep moving, after that we had
smooth sailing as the traffic through Atlanta was light. We made one stop for
lunch and gas. It took us exactly seven hours from door to door, our best time.
We unpacked the car and Cheri went right to work on doing laundry and I put
away all the tools I took along with some that Darren gave me. We had pizza for
supper and settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars and Judge Cheri was very disappointed
and it looked like everyone else was in shock. It was good to be back in our
own bed. Thank you God for a safe trip.

Happy Mother’s Day to all
the mothers, if it wasn’t for you raising and guiding us we wouldn’t be here
today. I was up a little before 5:00 am and a little later Wyatt was up along
with Darren. It was much later when Cheri got up but it was her day. Darren
fixed her a ham, cheese, and onion omelet along with fresh fruit and common
rolls. He also made me an omelet. Brooke isn’t into breakfast. We relaxed a
while before it was time to get some work done. Brooke cleaned out her vanity
cabinet so I could remove the old floor and put in a new one. Brook took Wyatt
and went to spend time with her mother. Cheri and Darren took a load of trash
over to where he works to put it in the dumpster. While they were there Darren
showed Cheri where he works. When they got back Cheri started painting the
deck. When I got done with the cabinet Darren and I cleaned up the garage and I
loaded the car with all my tools. As long as we got all the projects done we
have decided to head for home tomorrow. Then Darren and I removed all the
things he had in storage above the garage. Last year I built the storage area
in the attic over the garage and helped him put all the stuff up there. Cheri
got the deck done around 4:00 pm and Darren and I got done around 5:00 pm.
After Cheri took a shower I was next as we both where tired and dirty. It was
hotdogs and chips for supper.

I have been up around 5:00
am every morning we have been here. Wyatt is up around 5:30 am which mean
Darren and Brooke is up Wyatt is their alarm clock. Cheri has been getting up
around 6:00 am which makes a long day for all of us. Cheri finished up painting
the kitchen cabinets and gave the deck another washing. She wasn’t able to
doing any painting on the deck because we had rain on and off most of the day.
Cheri did get the ceiling in Darren’s office painted with the help of Darren to
help mask off the walls and move furniture around for her. I worked on the
finish molding around the loft which turned out to be a bigger job then I
thought it would be. I also made a new drawer for their bathroom vanity. Darren
and Brooke went shopping this afternoon to get some groceries and the deck
paint. It was 5:00 pm when I was finally done for the day and ready for a hot
shower. Darren fixed a Pasta casserole for supper along with toast. I tried to
watch the NASCAR race this evening but could stay awake so called a day and
went to bed.

I forgot to mention yesterday
that the love bug season is once again here. We have a very nice collection of
them on the car. Cheri worked most of the day sanding on the kitchen cabinets. She
is going to try and touch up the bad spots. After lunch Darren and Cheri went
to Home Depot to get paint and other materials I needed. After they got back
Cheri put the primer on the cabinets. After that she washed down the deck so it
will be ready for a coat of paint. Darren was working from home and was able to
help us some of the time. I worked on removing the old flooring from the
upstairs bathroom something I didn’t get done when we were here installing
flooring the last time. By 5:00 pm I had the new floor in along with the trim
work and the toilet back in place. I was ready for a hot shower to remove some
of the aches and pains. Cheri used the massager on my back and neck with really
helped. Cheri and I were both tired and in bed by 8:30 pm.

We were up early this
morning so I could get the car packed with our clothes before I left for my
7:30 am doctor appointment (just a routine yearly physical). When I got home
Cheri was ready to leave so we were on the road by 8:50 am. For the most part traffic
wasn’t too bad around Ocala, one of the places we usually have some heavy
traffic. Things went good until we got eight miles south of Macon GA when we
came to a dead stop on I-75 for half an hour for an accident. Then when we got
to the 285 the loop around Atlanta we had stop and go traffic for the next 30
miles. We usually make the trip in seven hours but today it took us eight and a
half hours. We gave Wyatt the rocking motorcycle that I made and within a
couple of minutes he figured out how to make it rock, not bad for a ten month
old boy. Darren showed us pictures of the area where they will be moving in Puerto
Vallarta Mexico which is the old town. We also discussed the drive down that
Darren and I will be doing.

Not much going on today. I
did do my walk and looking forward to it each day now. Although it is harder
some mornings to get my body moving for the walk. Cheri did some laundry today
for things she wants to pack for the trip to Darren and Brooke’s. I took the
car through the car wash and filled it with gas. I also got all my tools loaded
in the trunk. Cheri and I will be working on Darren and Brooke’s house getting
the things that need to be done so they can put the house up for sale. As of
now they are planning on moving to Mexico on Aug 1st. By late afternoon we had everything pack
except for a few things we will need in the morning. We went out to DQ for
supper. We each had a pulled pork sandwich and a butter finger Blizzard. When I
got the bill I was reminded by we don’t go there very often ($21.00). The rest
of the evening was spent watching shows we have recorded.

Cheri was busy most of the
day doing Laundry this morning getting ready for our trip to Darren and Brooke’s.
She also made a pan of lasagna along with garlic bread that we took over to
Mike and Kathy’s. Mike and Kathy’s family are here this week as Kathy is having
surgery tomorrow to have a cancerous tumor removed from her liver. I did some
clean up out in the shop from my electrical and plumping projects I did. Mike
and Pam came over for a visit and to return Cheri’s crockpot that she had made
clam chowder for them. I spent the rest of the day studying for my drone test
and I must say it is getting harder and having a problem understanding the
course material, hard to get my mine wrapped around it. Cheri surprised me with
lasagna for supper as she made extra for us while making the pan for Mike and
Kathy. It was just another evening of watching TV shows we had recorded.

I was up early this
morning and walking just as it was getting light out and didn’t see anyone else
out walking. I had to get around this morning as I had a fasting lab at 7:30
am. I got back in time to have breakfast and coffee with Cheri. I called and
made an 11:00 am appointment in Wesley Chapel to have the car serviced. I left
early and made a stop at Wal-Mart for a new air filter for the car. I also
stopped at Larry and Denis’s house to check it out and everything looked good.
I was still about 20 minutes early for the car appointment but they took me
right in. Not only did they change the oil and filter, it was time to have the
transmission fluid changed. It was around 12:30 pm when I got back home. Cheri
was busy in her sewing room today, been a while since she has been working on a
project. After lunch I headed over to our neighbor’s and did the plumbing for
her. I installed new bathroom faucets with water shut off valves under the vanity
cabinet. I also installed a new fill valve in the toilet. It was 3:30 pm when I
got done with that project and I was also done for the day. It must be Monday
night because Dancing with the Stars was on and Judge Cheri had the right
person to be voted off.

It was 50 degree this
morning which is cold for a morning this time of the year. I put on my jogging
suit for my walk this morning, guess at my age it is a walking suit. By the
time we left to pick up Grandma and take her to church with us it was already
up in mid-60’s. During Sunday school we were talking about removing the carpet
and replacing it with some vinyl plank flooring. After class I measured up to
see how many square feet we would need. Being we won’t be around for Mother’s
Day we took Grandma out for lunch at Sunrise restaurant. It was after 1:30 pm
when we arrived and still had to wait over a half hour to get in. We know the
food is good because no matter when you go there is a waiting line. It was
after 3:00 pm when we got home. I did some computer work on getting an estimate
together for the cost of doing the vinyl flooring in our Sunday school class
room and sent it to Charlie who is going to present it to the church board. Then
it was time to sit down and watch the NASCAR race I was recording. Cheri spent
the rest of the afternoon reading and napping. We skipped supper because of the
late lunch we had but did have some ice cream later in the evening. I had a pop
float (ice cream and orange soda mixed together) something that I haven’t had
in years.

We had some strong wind
come through starting around 2:00 am. It was a cold front that came through and
thought that I might see some damage when I walked this morning but only saw
some flower pots that had blown over. I also need a long sleeved shirt as it
was a little cooler this morning. It turned out to be a very nice day around 80
degrees and no humidity. We went over to Mike and Pam’s to sit with Mike while
Pam went for groceries. While we were there Randy and Faye came over to see how
Mike was doing. Each day Mike is improving more and is starting to get his strength
back. Cheri and I left around noon and went to Dade City to a store called
Treasured Friends. It has cute and different collectables. Cheri had gotten an
invite for us to come for lunch which they put on every year. From there we
went to Grandma’s. While I worked on the light switch Cheri went and got
Grandma’s groceries. It was near 4:00 pm when we got back home. We had leftover
meat ball and onion soup for supper. We called Darren this evening and got an
update on their move to Mexico. As of now it looks like they will be moving on
Aug first. We finished off the evening watching some TV shows we had recorded.

It started raining at 3:00
am and was done by 4:30 am when I got up. I check the rain gauge and only received
1/8 inch. I headed out at 6:10 am to have breakfast and Bible study with my accountability
group. We studied on how to get a better core of leaders in the church. It was
8:30 am when we got home and Cheri was just finishing up her breakfast. Our
neighbor Jean saw me and said that her toilet along with a faucet was leaking
wanted me to fix it, I check to see what I needed to get for do the repair.
After I showered and shaved I was ready to face the rest of the day. We had
made plans with Pam that we would go over to their place at 10:30 am to sit
with Mike while she went grocery shopping. We got a call from Pam telling us
that the nurse was coming and 12:30 pm would work better. Cheri was doing
laundry and her Thursday house work so made a trip to Lowe’s to get the parts
for Jean’s toilet and new faucets along with the electrical parts to fix
Grandma’s hallway switch. Later we got another call from Pam telling us that
Mike’s blood pressure had dropped really low and the nurse got him to drink
water which helped make it come up and then it went high for a bit before it
leveled off. So we went over to pick up Mike and Pam and take Mike to Wesley
Chapel to see his heart doctor. Doctor told them that he needed to be drinking
more water along with Gatorade. After all of was said and done it was near 3:30
pm when we arrived home. Please continue to pray for a full recovery for Mike.

After my walk and Cheri’s exercise
it was time for breakfast and coffee. Cheri was busy doing laundry and I was
getting ready to pick up Grandma and take her for her doctor’s appointment. I
dropped Grandma off at the door and then went and parked the car. When I got to
the waiting room Grandma was the only one waiting and thought we would get
right in to see the doctor. But the reason that there was no one in the waiting
room was because the doctor was gone on an emergency. They said that they had
tried to call and didn’t get any answer. I asked what number they were calling
and it was Grandma’s. We have told them many times to remove her number and put
our number on her chart. Long story short her new appointment is at the end of
the month. When I got Grandma home she told me that the hall light was burned
out and wanted me to change it. Well it turns out that the switch is bad. I
needed to get a new switch which I have at home. When I got home Cheri had made
a new recipe of onion and meat ball soup in the crockpot for supper. After
lunch we went to the hospital to see Mike and he is doing much better and is
being discharged late this afternoon. Then we stopped by Grandmas to install
the new hallway light switch. I found out that the old switch was just
installed in the wall without an electrical box. So I will have to make a trip
to Lowe’s for parts. She also told us the her TV still isn’t working right so I
called Bright House and are going to send a repairman between 4 and 6 pm. When
we got home it was about time for supper, the onion meat ball soup wasn’t as
good as we thought it would be. Cheri has some ideas on how to make the leftovers
better. This evening we went to see the movie “The Case for Christ”. I was very
good and was based on a true story about the life of Lee Strobel aggressive
atheism to evangelical Christianity. We got to the theater early to make sure
we could get a good seat. Well we were the first ones there and only two more
people came to see the movie. I was so sure the theater would be full for the
movie, I sure was disappointed.

I forgot to mention that
we got a little rain yesterday, first rain in a couple of months or longer. It
was only a ¼ inch but it was rain. I walked again this morning and getting more
into the habit and stating to enjoy it more. After breakfast and Bible study we
went over to the hospital to set with Mike because Pam had some errands that
she needed to do. Mike is better today than he was yesterday. He is eating a
little more and also walked up and down the hall. Also got good news that the
blood test came back negative which means no more blood infection. It was 1:30
pm when we got home and had a late lunch. Neither of us was in the mood to do
anything this afternoon so it was an afternoon of reading, TV, and napping. Cheri
fixed us waffles for supper. The rest of the evening was watching shows we had
recorded and are almost caught up with all the recordings.

I got out for my walk a
little earlier this morning and saw a few different people out walking. I also
checked to see how far I have been walking and it is 1 & 6/10 miles. Cheri
rides the stationary recumbent bike every day except for Saturday and Sunday.
After breakfast we spend time in our Bible study. Cheri was busy cleaning and
mopping all the floors which is something she does every Tuesday. I spent the
rest of the morning and part of the afternoon studying for my drone pilot certificate
which is going to take a lot of studying for me. Cheri talked to Pam today to
see about going to the hospital to see Mike but she said that he isn’t doing
very well today and all he wants to do is sleep and isn’t eating. So it would
be best to just let him sleep and check again tomorrow. This evening Ron &
Sandy and we went out for dinner and then to the theater in Wesley Chapel to
see the production of Jonah that was put on by Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster
Pennsylvania and Branson Missouri which is now playing for one night in theaters
around the state. We have been to Branson to see other productions and seeing
them live is much better than the theater but still a good show.
I am asking everyone that
read our blog to please pray for our friend Mike to get back to good health and
for Pam as she is under a lot of stress and not getting enough sleep.

Ok who ran off with the
month of April, seems like it just started the other day. Anyway happy May Day.
I did get my walk in this morning even though I didn’t think the old body was
going to make it. Cheri was busy doing her house work and ironing. I took
Grandma for her eye appointment at 10:20 am. We had to wait a long time before
we got in and was around 1:00 pm before I got home for lunch. This afternoon we
went over to the hospital to see how Mike was doing. He is doing better but not
eating, says he doesn’t feel like eating and that the food doesn’t taste good,
probably caused by the medication. When we got home we headed for the
recliners. Cheri tried to do some reading and fell asleep and I did some drone studying
and it wasn’t long and I was also asleep. After about an hour we were awake and
Cheri fixed us a hoagie beef and cheese sandwich for supper. Later in the
evening we had a bowl of ice cream while watching Dancing with the Stars. Judge
Cheri picked the three couples that would be up for elimination. We thought
that Nancy Kerrigan should have stayed.

We got a call at 1:00 am
from Pam that she was at the emergency room with Mike. So we headed over to be
with her along with Ron and Sandy. Mike was running a fever and non-responsive
plus his blood pressure dropped really low. When we got there they had already
run some test and waiting for the results. He was passing blood which had to be
from the procedure he had done on Friday. He was admitted and got to a room
around 4:30 am. We stayed until 5:00 am and then headed home and got ready for
church. Grandma went to church with us today. Both church and Sunday school was
really good. After Sunday school we dropped off Grandma and headed back to the
hospital to be with Mike and Pam. Shortly after we got there the nurse came in
and said that Mike’s blood culture came back and he has a blood infection from
the procedure he had done. They have him on antibiotics and will be in the
hospital for another two or three days. We got home around 2:20 pm and were
both really tired. Cheri was fixing us an English muffin and bagel for a late
lunch when she dropped the jar of peanut butter which hit the plate that the
bagel was on and the plate exploded and had pieces of glass all over the
kitchen floor, counter, and stove. We were both bare footed and both of us
ended up with glass in our feet while cleaning up everything. I tried to watch
the NASCAR race I was recording but did a lot of napping while it was on and
Cheri also took a long nap. We had pizza for supper and more TV this evening.
