It was another night of
pain. I did sleep in bed with the support belt but was up by 1:30 am and headed
to the recliner. I had a job of replacing a fan remote that wasn’t working and
replace a smoke detector. Cheri took our neighbor Jean to Dade City so she
could get her driver license renewed. I got home around 11:15 am and Cheri was
also back home. We had an early lunch because Cheri and I decided it was time
for me to see a doctor. So we went over to the emergency room at the hospital
here in Zephyrhills as I didn’t feel like going to Tampa VA. The good news is
that I don’t have a broken rib. The bad news is I have a case of the shingles.
The doctor gave me three prescriptions to help with the pain. We went over to
Wal-Mart to get them filled and did some grocery shopping while waiting for the
medicine. The doctor had given me a couple of pills that was very strong and
needed to have Cheri drive us home from Wal-Mart. I was feeling light headed
and sick to my stomach. By 6:00 pm I was feeling better and the pain was much
less. We had leftover potato soup for supper. It was a normal evening of TV. Thank
you God for taking care of us today.

It was still a bad night
even with the bed raised up. The pain isn’t all that bad when I am up and
walking around. I had a work appointment today that I needed to get done. It
was over in Tampa Bay country. I had taken out the patio door last week to see
what roller set I needed. So today I needed to get it back together. I also
turned the patio door blinds around so they would pull from the other side of
the door. I was back home by noon and done for the day. I did go to Walgreens
to get a support belt but didn’t use it until I went to bed. I spent the
afternoon in the recliner with heat on the rib area and that made it feel a lot
better. Cheri spent most of the morning visiting with our neighbor Jean. This
afternoon she finished her Tuesday house work and then joined me in the
recliner. I was able to have a couple hours of nap time while Cheri watched TV.
Cheri had potato soup going in the crockpot to have for supper and was very
good. It was a normal evening of TV. Looking forward to a better night’s sleep
using the support belt. Thank you God for helping us through another day.

I checked the rain gauge
and we received two inches from the 24 hours of rain. I had another really bad night and was up
before 3:00 am with a lot of pain. I had a 9:30 am eye appointment this
morning. I am having a cataract removed from my left eye and today was the pre surgery
appointment. The surgery is on 2/8/19. It was 1:30 pm when I got home and
checked my appointment sheet and they gave me someone else appointment sheet,
so after three different calls and a trip to the local VA clinic I got things straighten
out. Cheri took Grandma for her knee appointment witch was at 9:30 am and didn’t
get in to see the doctor until 11:00 am. Cheri was baking chocolate chip
cookies when I got home. After all the problems we decided we had done enough for
the day. I did nap some while watching TV. When we went to bed tonight I raised
up my side of the bed to see if that would reduce the rib pain and be able to
sleep. I will let you know tomorrow how that worked. Thank you God for safe
travels and guidance.

Put in another bad night
with the broken rib. I think I need to go and see a doctor, not sure they can
do anything for a broken rib. It started raining around 4:00 am and rained all
day and still raining when we went to bed. Also only 52 degrees for high today.
Grandma didn’t go to church with us today. Her knee is bothering her and it was
also too cold and wet for her. Pastor Randy’s message was a continuation from
last week in the book of James 2:1-4 How to Behave in a Misbehaving World. Our
Sunday school lesson was titled Assurance, From Genesis 35:1-15. It was near
1:00 pm when we got home. With all the nasty weather we decided staying home
was the best thing to do. So it was more of what we did yesterday afternoon.
Later we did have pizza for supper. I got another call for work to be done but
told them it would be awhile as I am not sure how much I can do with the rib
pain. Thank you God for time spent with you today.

While doing the sink
install Thursday I think I broke a rib as it has been hurting. Not so much pain
during the day but not able to sleep. Every time I would move it would wake me
up, so the nights have been long. Cheri and I went for our usual Saturday
morning breakfast at the Hole in One donut shop. It was in the low 40’s this
morning and was cold sitting at the table in the donut shop as the door was
open a lot of the time with people coming and going. Cheri worked in her sewing
room today doing a project for her girlfriend Pat. I had a 10:00 am appointment
to install a new ceiling fan, repair a toilet, and an outside water faucet. I
was back home by 1:00 pm for a late lunch with Cheri. We took the rest of the
day off resting, reading, napping, and watching TV. We had leftover spare ribs
for supper and popcorn for a snack later in the evening. Thank you God for
blessed day.

Our accountability group
leader wasn’t able to be with us this morning for Bible study and breakfast. So
it was more visiting and very little bible study. I was back home a little
after 8:00 am. Cheri needed a few things from the grocery store so we headed
out around 9:00 am with a stop at the bank before grocery shopping. On the way
back home we made a stop at the park office to see if by chance if they knew
anyone that had their place for rent. We have a friend that wants to come down
from Wisconsin for a couple of months, no luck on any rentals in our park.
Cheri’s lifelong girlfriend Pat and husband Roger spent the day with us. We
didn’t think we would see them this winter as they had sold their house here in
Florida was going to spend the winter back home in Maine. They got a call from
a friend of theirs that lived in the park where their house was that had a
place for rent. So they were able to come for six week. Sure was good to see
them. We took them to Sunrise Eatery for lunch and then back to our place for
more visiting. They left around 4:00 pm. We settled in for a normal evening of
TV. We did have a toasted ham and cheese sandwich for our supper as we had a
big lunch and the sandwich was all we needed. It seem nice to have a day off
from work. Thank you God for time spent with friends. Yes the weather was in
the 40’s this morning was a cool day in the low 60’s.

First I want to whish our
son Darren a happy birthday, our baby is now forty. We had a rain storm with
lighting and thunder come through starting at 5:00 am. They were predicting
high winds with a lot of rain. Well it was over by 9:00 am. We did receive some
wind but not bad like some other parts of the state and only received half an
inch of rain. It turned to be a very nice day with the temp in the 70’s. My
project for the day was to install two toilets, new vanity faucets and drains,
and a new kitchen sink. Everything went well except for the kitchen sink. I was
putting an oversize sink and not much room for the install. I had to make a
couple of trips to Lowe’s for some special plumbing fittings. It was 5:30 pm when
I got home. Cheri is still nursing her cold and did more work on cleaning out
the spare bedroom closet, working on the photo albums, laundry, and ironing.
She also got spareribs going in the crockpot for supper. After supper we
settled in for a normal evening of TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

We are having some crazy
weather as it was 61 degrees this morning and warmed into the mid 80’s. When I
got up this morning I wasn’t sure what I would be doing today, kind of unusual
for me. I did make a call this morning and made a 10:00 am appointment to work
on some patio doors that are hard to open. I found that the threshold was loose
and the doors need new rollers. I took the door apart to see which type of door
roller kit I needed to get. I also need some special screws for the threshold.
After that I made another call and no one was home. My last call was to install
some shelving in a garage but they were sick and didn’t want me to come. Then I
got a call from Donna and she wants me to put up a pulley system for doing rehab
on her arm. I was able to be home for a late lunch with Cheri. After lunch I
stopped at another place where I will be installing a ceiling fan and some
plumbing work. From there I headed Donna’s and got the pulley system installed.
I had stopped at Lowe’s to see about parts for the patio doors but they didn’t
have the right ones. So I headed to Home Depot where I found the parts I needed.
Cheri is still trying to get over her cold. She did work on the picture albums
and cleaning out the spare bedroom closet which has been a place for all the
catch all stuff, time to get rid of some stuff. We had the New England clam
chowder for supper that I bought the other day at Wawa and was very good. Thank
you God for helping us through another day.

It was another cold
morning and wasn’t until late afternoon before I could be out without a jacket,
mostly because of the stiff breeze. I was feeling under the weather this
morning, my stomach wasn’t feeling good and lasted all day. I thought I was
going to be helping my neighbor move some furniture early today but he called
me and said that it wouldn’t be until late this afternoon. So I went to a place
here in town to assemble a wardrobe cabinet. They had started it over a year
ago and was having problem with it and called me to come and finish the
assembling. Things went well got it all to gather fastened to the wall. On the
way home I stopped at Wawa for some chicken noodle soup and also some New
England clam chowder. We had the chicken noodle for lunch. Thought that it
might make my stomach feel better. After lunch I went out and worked on a TV
shelf I am building for Donna. I got a call from Mike at 4:00 pm saying he was
ready to move the furniture. It was around 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri was
busy today doing her Tuesday house work and then rested the rest of the day as
she is getting over a cold. We were still full from our chicken noodle soup so
it was just a snack while watching TV. Thank you God for a productive day.

It was 33 degrees this
morning but did warm up for a nice day. Cheri went out to do grocery shopping
for Grandma this morning. Then she spent the rest of the day in her sewing
room, still working with the picture albums. I had a 9:30 am appointment in
Tampa Bay country to install a new ceiling fan and check to see if I could
install four can lights in their dining room. After looking in the attic I
think I can do it but not going to be an easy job. My next stop was to repair a
toilet leak, change furnace filters, and new batteries in the smoke detectors.
My last stop was to check out a ceiling fan and found that the remote control
wasn’t working. She is going to get a new remote unit and then call me to
install it. I also ordered a new smoke detector for her. I was back home at
3:30 pm, nice to get done early. After my shower and getting cleaned up Cheri
fixed us a ribeye steak dinner with a baked potato and chocolate chip cookies
for dessert. It was a normal evening of TV and have finally got caught up on
our recorded shows. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

When I got up at 5:00 am
it was 61 degrees and that was the high for the day. The temp continued to drop
all day long and was down to 43 degrees when we went to bed. Grandma went to
church with us this morning. Just before church started we lost electricity. We
raised the blinds and open the doors. Pastor Randy proceed as if nothing had
happened. A squirrel got into the wiring near the transformer making it blow
out. It also controlled the stop and go light. Because of that there was a bad
accident at the intersection. Pastor Randy’s message was from James 1:19-27
titled “Being Real in a Reality World”. Our Sunday school lesson was from Genesis
1:27; 9:1-7 and Matthew 5:21-22 titled “Protect and Serve”. When we got home we
settled in for an afternoon of TV, reading, and napping. We ordered in a Papa
John’s pizza for supper. I just felt like having a different type of pizza. It
has been several years since we have had a Papa John’s pizza. Thank you God for
a blessed day with church and friends.

We met Mike and Pam at
7:30 am at the Hole in One Donut shop for breakfast and fellowship. When we got
home Cheri went to work on the photo albums removing the photos from the albums
and putting in photo boxes so they don’t take up so much room. I worked on painting
one of Donna’s shelves I made yesterday. While the paint was drying I went to
Lowe’s to get lumber for the next shelf I will be building. After lunch I took
the one shelf over to Donna’s and got it installed. When I got home I cleaned
out the truck and restocked my tools getting ready for my next project. I was
done at 4:00 pm and ready for a hot shower. It was much warmer this morning and
the temp got up near 80 degrees. Thank you God for a blessed day and time spent
with friends.

It was a little warmer
this morning with a temp of 42 degrees and warmed up to the mid 70’s for a beautiful
day. Cheri and I went over to Jim and Linda’s this morning. Cheri had a meeting
with Linda planning the church dinner for all the people that has lost their
mate. I had rebuilt a light fixture that Linda had gotten at a garage sale and
put it up for her. I also tighten a blind that was coming down. After that was
done I dropped Cheri off at home and I went and got a much needed haircut. Then
back home for lunch. This afternoon I went over to Donna’s to remove wire shelf
from her closet and brought it home so I could build a 12 inch extension on it.
I got the extension made and ready to paint. Later this afternoon I had an appointment
to check out a project of installing two new toilets, bathroom sink faucets, and
new kitchen sink. I also went to Lowe’s to see about materials to build a TV
shelf for Donna. Cheri was busy in her sewing room working on the photo albums.
Cheri fixed breakfast for supper, sausage gravy over scrambled eggs on toast.
The evening was spent reading and watching TV. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was a cold 34 degrees
this morning but warm up to the low 70’s for a very nice day. My first project
for the day was to install a ceiling fan in a bedroom where there was only a
light. I had to get a fan reinforcing bar to install in the ceiling to support
the fan which took a while. I was done with the fan install by 1:00 pm. I was
back home to have a late lunch with Cheri. She had been working on the laundry
and removing pictures from old albums and putting them in photo boxes so they
don’t take up so much room. I headed over to Donna’s has she has a couple more
projects she wants me to do. She wants me to build a couple shelves along with
a few other things. When I got home Cheri wanted to go to JC Penny’s in Wesley
Chapel to see about blinds. She found what she wanted and got them ordered and
will come to the house. She also found some bath towels she wanted but they
didn’t have enough of them. They said that they could order them and have them
delivered to the house. We decided to go to Applebee’s for supper, it was 5:00
pm when we got there and was ahead of the crowd that came after us. We both had
a very good meal. It was 6:30 pm when we got home. It was a normal evening of
TV with a snack. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

The winter weather has
returned as it was 39 degrees this morning. I don’t think it made it up 60
degrees today as I had a jacket on all day. We had sun early in the morning and
then it clouded up for the rest of the day. My day started at 9:30 am in Tampa
Bay country to install a couple of blinds. The first one wouldn’t close after I
got it up. I took it down and found that it wasn’t assembled correctly. So I
took it apart and reassembled it and now work fine. I didn’t have a problem
with the other one. My next stop was to install new faucets and all the
plumbing to a new sink. The main faucet was a new wave off and on. A lot of
electronics to make it work. It has a battery pack for the power. It works well
but I wasn’t impressed. All it does is turn on and off the water. You still
have to adjust how much flow and temp you want. My last stop for the day was to
hang another blind in a water closet. It was a long day and didn’t get home
until 6:30 pm. Yep I was ready for a hot shower. Cheri made a trip to the bank
and then some other shopping. She was looking for photo boxes which she found
at Hobby Lobby. It was 7:30 pm when we finally got settled in for an evening of
TV which was more napping than watching for me. Thank you God for helping us
through the day.

I got a call this morning
at 7:15 am from a lady that said she had a major water leak and wanted me to
come quick. When I got there water was coming out from under the house. I shut
off the water at the street and then checked and found a water pipe had come
apart. She had the house plumbed many years ago and this pipe joint had never
been glued together. I was able to dry it out and glue it together and problem
solved. I am sure it must have been leaking since it was installed. Lucky it
didn’t do any damage to the house. The rest of the day was spent over in Tampa
Bay country installing two mirrors, a toilet, a cabinet over the toilet, light
fixture, and some electrical wiring. One the way home I checked out another job
and also filled the truck with gas. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home. The
temp had already fallen into the low 50’s so I was ready for a good hot shower.
Cheri had been busy with her Tuesday house work, organizing her sewing room,
and cooking pork chops in the crockpot for supper along with asparagus, mash potatoes,
and gravy. It was a normal evening of TV along with sausage, cheese, and
crackers for me to snack on. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

It was another nice day
but a little cooler than yesterday, in the mid 60’s today. I took Grandma for
her eye appointment this morning at 9:00 am. She had one tear duct that was
blocked. Other than that she had a good report. It was near 11:30 am when I got
home. We had an early lunch so I could go an install a kitchen faucet and do
some siding work. I had trouble getting the old faucet out and had to use my dermal
to cut the nuts that held the faucet in the sink, everything was rusted. The
siding project was in the liana between the bottom of the house and the floor of
the liana. I had to build a frame to fasten the siding to. It took me a while
to figure out how to do it. I was done and back home by 4:00 pm. Cheri was busy
today with house work and changing the decorations in the house for Valentine’s
Day. I was going to get a haircut this evening but when I went to check in on
line there was a two hour wait and decided I would try again tomorrow. This
evening we had the left over taco casserole along with some chocolate chip
cookies Cheri made today. It was a normal evening of TV with trail mix and
popcorn for a treat. We are almost caught up on the shows we have recorded.
Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was on the cool side
this morning but was a beautiful winter day. Grandma went to church with us
this morning. Pastor Randy’s message was on how we need to grow in our faith so
we can teach other people. Our Sunday school lesson was titled: Reconciled.
From Genesis 33:1-15. I had planned on getting a haircut today but the guy that
cuts my hair wasn’t in today. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent

Cheri and I headed out to
the Hole in One donut shop for a breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls. I got a
call last night from a customer I have done work for over in Tampa Bay country.
A year ago I reinstalled a 12 foot clothes rack that I come off the wall. After
I got it installed I told her that it wouldn’t come down again. Well she called
to let me know that it came down again. So today I went to check it out and see
about doing another install. She put way too much weight on it. But this time
the hanging hardware broke and everything that I had done was ok. I stopped at
Lowes to get some extra heavy brackets but they only had one and then went to
Home Depot to get the additional brackets. The rack was bent pretty bad but
with some work I got it straighten out. By 2:30 pm I was done and on my way
home. Cheri went out for groceries and then worked in her sewing room. She finished
a quilt that she has been work on and off the last few months. She also fixed us
a new recipe of taco casserole which was pretty good and have leftovers for
another day. It was a normal evening of TV with some leftover peach cobbler for
a treat. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was 44 degrees this
morning and was nice as long as you were in the sun today. I was out the door
at 6:05 am for breakfast and Bible study with my accountability group this morning.
We studied Hebrews chapter two. I was home a little pass 8:00 am as I had to
get things ready for a 9:30 am appointment over in Tampa Baby country to
install some patio blocks, hang three pictures, fix the vacuum cleaner, remove
the garbage disposal in order to get a piece of metal that was stuck in it, and
repair the ice maker in the refrigerator. I was done and back home by 1:30 pm
to have a late lunch. I had called another party to install some window blinds
but didn’t get an answer. Cheri did the laundry and was working in her sewing
room. She has been wanting new vertical blinds for the living room so we headed
out to Lowe’s and Home Depot but could find any that she liked. When we got
home we did some internet searching and still didn’t find what she wanted. So
the search will continue. We went out to Calver’s for supper and then back home
for an evening of TV. Thank you God for being with us today.

The cold weather is back
as it was 43 degrees this morning and jacket weather all day. I was out the
door at 7:30 am heading to Tampa for my doctor’s appointment. My wait was 45
minutes pass my appointment time. The doctor even apologized for being late. I
got a good report and don’t have to go back for a year. I had planned on doing
some plumbing work in Tampa Bay country but got a call and the lady wasn’t
ready for me. So I called another customer and did some electrical work. I
installed three way wireless switch. It is the first time I have done anything
with wireless switches and it worked out well. I had a happy customer and saved
them a lot of money. I didn’t feel like doing anymore today so I headed home.
Cheri was really tired didn’t do much today. I did some computer work and made
some calls for work. Then I joined Cheri in the recliner to watch some TV
before going over to Mike and Pam’s as they invited us along with Ron and Sandy
for dinner. Thank you Pam and Mike for a wonderful dinner. Good food and
fellowship, doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you God a blessed day.

I am still working in
Tampa Bay country at the same place. Each day when I get there they have
additional things they want me to do. Today I changed out a toilet which
started with a broken shutoff valve. I had some trouble of getting new toilet
in as it was bigger than the old one. I also installed a new cabinet over the
toilet. The rest of the day was spent removing a large mirror above the vanity.
I had to remove the medicine cabinet in order to make room for the mirror to
come down. I did get it removed without breaking it. I was done early so I
loaded up all of my tools and headed for home. I still have more to do there
but not until next Tuesday. Cheri was busy with her Wednesday house work and
spent some time in her sewing room. Cheri fixed us a salad and a beef steak
filet which turned out to be tough, hard to get good tender steaks. She also
made a peach cobbler for dessert. It was a normal evening of TV with popcorn
and trail mix for a treat. Thank you God for productive day.

I was back at work in
Tampa Bay country. I had to do some sanding on the shadow box fronts where they
fit together and where they matched up to the existing cabinets plus some additional
primer paint. I got the drawer pulls installed and the new switch for the fan
installed. Then I worked on installing two safety rails in the shower and
installed a new bathroom light over the vanity. I was back home by 4:45 pm.
After my shower I sat down to some good hot clam chowder that Cheri made. She
was also busy with her Tuesday house work. Our neighbor Jean came over for a
visit. I think she also went Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. Our
evening was spent watching TV shows we had recorded. Or I should say Cheri did
as I napped through most of them. Thank you God for all your guidance today.

The temp this morning was
52 degrees which is a nice winter morning temp. It was a nice day with a high
in the low 70’s although I didn’t get to experience it has my work was mostly
inside today. I got the shadow boxes installed and will have to do some
additional sanding on them. I also install cabinet door and drawer pulls. While
doing the cabinet doors and drawers I manage to drill into my finger, not once
but twice. Something that I have never done before, you would think once would
be enough, guess I am a slow learner. The next project was to install a new
ceiling fan in the lanai which was 12 feet up in the air. One of their
neighbors stopped by to ask me to do some work for them. So after I got done
for the day I stopped to check out what they wanted done. They want a large
opening in the wall between the kitchen and living room. Plus recessed lights
in the kitchen. It was 5:30 pm when I got home. Cheri had supper ready when I
came in the door. After supper I headed to the shower which really felt good on
aching muscles. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment this morning
and then took her for a haircut. She also made a trip to Wal-Mart which she
said was a disaster, too many people. It was a normal TV evening with some popcorn
and trail mix. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Grandma planned on going to church with us today but got a call from her this

Cheri and I went for
breakfast at the Hole in One donut shop this morning. It seems like it is
getting to be later every Saturday as it was near 8:00 am when we got there
this morning. It was cooler today with the temp in the low 70’s and not much
sun. Cheri worked in her sewing room still trying to get things better organized.
I was a truck mechanic today as I installed new front struts and read shocks on
the truck. After I got done I took it for a drive and what a difference in the
way it drove. Something that should have been done a long time ago. It was 4:00
pm when I got done. Cheri was already relaxing and reading in her recliner. I
headed to the shower to get cleaned up. Larry called me and came over to get
some tools he needed for a project he is doing. After supper we settled in for
an evening of TV, still trying to get caught up on the shows we have recorded. Thank
you guiding us through another day.

I was out the door at 6:05
am heading to Dade City for breakfast and Bible study with my accountability
group. Our Bible study was Romans chapter 12. If we all could do what is in Chapter
12 all of our problem would be solved. Please take time to read it and meditate
on what you read. I was back home a little after 8:00 am. We left at 9:00 am to
take Nikki to the airport. Sure was nice having her here to spend Christmas and
the New Year with us. On the way home we stopped at Sam’s Club in Wesley Chapel
to get a few things we needed and some things we didn’t know wanted. Cheri had
laundry started before we left for the airport and she continued working on
that this afternoon. I went to check out kitchen faucet install to see what
type of faucet she wanted and then to Lowe’s to buy one, a project I will be
doing sometime next week. Cheri also went for her haircut and I went to Auto
Zone to get new struts and shocks for the truck. Late this afternoon we had a
hard rain which lasted into the evening, checked the gauge and we received just
under an inch. Larry and Denise came over this evening to play Hand, knee, and
Foot. Larry and I won the first game by a narrow margin and Cheri and Denise
won the second game by a huge margin. Thank you God for a blessed and time
spent with good friends.

I had a 9:30 am
appointment over in Tampa Bay country to install a new kitchen faucet. I run
into a problem I haven’t seen before. The supply lines where part of the
shutoff valves and the new faucet had the supply lines already attached. So
that met I had to install new shutoff valves. I went to the truck to get the
parts I needed and found that I forgot to put the container of all the plumbing
parts in the truck. I told the people I would be back after lunch to finish the
project. I had another appointment to check out about installing a three way
switch in their bathroom. The bathroom has two doors into it one from the
bedroom and the other from the hallway. When they come in from the hallway they
have to walk all the way to the other side of the bathroom for the light
switch. This is the reason that they want an additional switch by the hall entrance.
I told them all the work that would have to be done to wire in a three way
switch and then told them that it would be a good place to use a wireless
switch. Long story short I have ordered a wireless switch for them. I stopped a
Lowe’s to get the plumbing parts I needed and then home for lunch. Then back to
the kitchen faucet project. I was done and back home by 4:00 pm. Cheri was busy
with laundry and ironing today. Nikki left after lunch to spend the afternoon
with Grandma. This evening we went out to eat at the Sunrise Eatery. We had to
wait about twenty minutes to get in, a very popular place and good food. It was
near 7:30 pm when we got home. We had a normal evening of TV, no treats because
of the big supper. Thank you God for a blessed day.

A little after 9:00 am I
headed over to Mike and Pam’s. They got their water bill for the lawn
irrigation system and thought that they might have a leak. I did some checking
and couldn’t find anything that showed a leak. They had just gone to pay the
water bill and they said that a supervisor would come out to check it out. He
had his computer and could show the amount of water used each day. The problem
is that the system was running for too long of a time, more water than needed
to be used. There wasn’t any directions on how to set up the system control. So
I did some internet searching and found a manual on line. I printed off the
part on how to program it. Later Larry and I went to check out another project
of carpenter work in a house. The guy is going to let us know if he wants us to
do the work. The rest of the day was spent putting on a second coat of primer
paint on the shadow boxes. They are now done and ready for install. Cheri was
doing some alterations on some clothes for Nikki and they also went shopping as
they needed some things for the alterations. Cheri fixed us spaghetti with
garlic toast for supper. It was another evening of TV. Thank you God for a
productive day.

Happy New Year. I pray we
all have a better year than last year and find ourselves closer to God. Seems
strange to be writing 2019, just realized we have been retired for 15 years.
Not sure where the time went. I spent my day painting the primer coat on the
shadow boxes. Not happy with the way the primer coat went on and will have to
do some additional sanding before putting on another coat. I even went and
brought some spray cans of primer and that was worst, so it was back to the
paint brush. I hate painting and even tried to talk Cheri into doing the
painting for me but she turned me down. Cheri and Nikki were working on a craft
project today. Later in the afternoon they went and got Grandma and brought her
over to have supper with us. I was going to post some pictures of my work but
since the update on my phone I haven’t been able to upload from my phone to the
blog (something else to check on). It was a normal evening of TV. Thank you God
for a productive day.

Gay Dec-31-18

The last time I can write
2018. It has been an interesting year for Cheri and me. We have had some good
time and bad times but God has gotten us through another year and we find
ourselves getting closer to God, something we should have done many years ago.
I had a 9:00 am appointment to check out a kitchen stove. She said that she has
trouble with the oven not getting hot enough. After checking it out there wasn’t
any lower heating element. I could see that there had been one but was broke
off at the back of the oven. She has had the stove for nine years and said that
it never work right. She bought the stove that was a floor sample and was on
close out. I told her I could put in an element and it would work ok, but she
decided that she would get a new stove. The rest of the day I worked on the
shadow boxes. I now have them all sanded and ready for primer paint. I did make
a trip to Lowe’s for additional sandpaper and primer paint. Cheri and Nikki
spent the day out shopping and also got groceries for Grandma. We picked up
Grandma at 5:30 pm and we went to Golden Corral for dinner to celebrate the New
Year. Then back home to settle in for an evening of TV, no snacks as we were all
still full from eating too much. I pray that everyone celebrates the New Year sensibly
and has a good time. Thank you God for guiding us through another day, without
you we are nothing.
