We finally got a night that didn’t dip below 50 degrees, although it rained off and on all night. We were afraid we would have to close up in the rain but we lucked out.

We were on the road by 9:20am. About 1 hour down the road Gay remembered he had forgotten the water regulator back at the campground. I called and they said they’d mail it for us. We will pick it up at friends we will be visiting in Olympia, WA.

We took the interstate for a bit before we picked up HWY 20/26 just as we were going into Oregon. This is a state I haven’t been in.

We stopped in Vale, OR for a break and Gay was checking out the 5th wheel and noticed cracks in the hitch. He went into a nearby business and asked about welders in the area. They were very nice and called one for him. The guy came right over to take a look. We followed him back to his shop and Gay took things apart so it could be welded. They took care of us right away. It took 3 hours before we were on our way. Its better we found it here then when we got to Alaska.

We drove in and out of rain the rest of the afternoon. Gay spotted a coyote just off the road.

We drove into Pacific Time Zone in the late afternoon. It sure will be hard to loose all those hours when we head home.

About 15 miles out of Burns, we came upon fields of purple wild flowers as far as the eyes could see. What a beautiful site. Got some pictures I hope!

By 4:30 we pulled into our campground in Burns, OR. We’re done for the day.
