Cheri
was a little better today but still having a lot of pain, all above the knee.
From talking to other people I expected her to be further long. This afternoon
she did walk a bit with a cane back in forth inside the 5th wheel. We
need more prayers to help her get better. I took Grandma for her 11:20 am
doctor’s appointment and didn’t get in to the room until 12:40 pm and still
waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. So lunch was late today but very good
because Mike brought over Chicken salad on croissants for us. Thanks Pam for
making them for us. Grandma called in a prescription yesterday and Cheri called
at 9:00 am and checked on one that we couldn’t pick up before and was told that
it would be ready in an hour. Well I went over to at 2:00 pm to pick them up
and when I told her what I wanted she said that they didn’t have anything for
Grandma. With a controlled temper I explained to her what we were told. She went
and talked to someone, returned and said it would be ready in ten minutes. I
said what about the other one and she said it was ready. So I left and picked up
a few things that we needed. By the time I got Grandmas medicine to her and
back home it was already after 4:00 pm. We are seriously thinking about
changing all of Grandma’s prescriptions to CVS or Walgreens.

Cheri
was in a lot of pain today, more than yesterday. The pain is all above the knee
in the muscle. Needless to say we didn’t go to church today but Grandma did go
with some of her friends to a different church. I did take a short walk today
taking the trash up to the dumpster and on the way back I stopped and visited a
bit with Ed and Loraine as they were sitting outside. Cheri did nap a lot
because of the pain medicine she is taking. She still has taken as much as she
could. We used ice and heat on her leg today. This evening Ed and Loraine
stopped to check on Cheri to see how she was doing. Pam called her and visited
for a bit. Marlene came to check in on her and Jean came later to see how she
was doing. So that helped break up the day. I read my book, watched TV and
helped Cheri by napping with her.

Cheri
had a pretty good day only taken one pain pill this morning and another before
she went to bed. She got up with pain above the knee but the knee was pretty
good. She did have a hard time getting around in the 5th wheel. The
good thing is that it is small and doesn’t have to go very far. She did have trouble
getting up and down steps to the bedroom and bath room. This forenoon Mike and
Pam stopped in for a visit and brought us a fresh baked cherry pie, how nice is
that. We had some for lunch, thanks Mike and Pam. I did go and mow Bud and
Joyce’s lawn this afternoon and also watered it. The rest of the day was spent
waiting on Cheri, reading, and watching TV. Ron brought over vegetable soup,
bean soup, and some brownies. We had the vegetable soup for supper along with
brownie. Thanks Ron and Sandy the soup was great. Around 9:00 pm Cheri gave up
and took a pain pill and headed to bed. She was pretty tired and had slept well
last night. I stayed up and watched the NASCAR race.

Today
was the day for Cheri to have her knee repaired. We had to be at the Out
Patient at 8:00 am. We waited until 9:30 am before she got to the prep room,
not sure why we had to be so early. At 10:30 doctor Knight came in and talked
to us about what he was going to do and before he left he had a prayer with us.
I was really impressed, never had a doctor do this before. Then I knew for sure
God directed us to the right doctor. At 10:40 they took her in for surgery to
remove and repair a torn meniscus. The doctor came out at 11:40 am and told me
everything went as planned, great news. Then the worst part was to come for
Cheri as she gets very sick from the anesthesia. She talked to the doctor about
this before she went in for surgery and they said they would give her something
that would help and she shouldn’t get sick. Well it didn’t work as she was
really sick and took a long time for her to come out of the anesthesia. They
gave her something else to help with the sickness. It was around 2:15 pm when
we left to come home. After eating a couple of soda crackers and a little
Ginger Ale she went to bed. She slept until around 6:30 pm. When she got up she
felt much better and no more sickness. At this point in time she said her knee
didn’t hurt any more than it did when she went in for the surgery. I am sure
the pain medicine they gave her hadn’t worn off. I got her up and out in the
living room so she could sit in her recliner, feeling much better she ate an
English muffin and some more Ginger Ale. We watched TV until 10:00 pm and
headed to bed. She still didn’t take anything for pain. Thank you for all the
prayers.

Cheri
had a 9:00 am appointment at the outpatient for a pre surgery on her knee which
will be tomorrow and has to be at the hospital at 8:00 am. I thought that she
would be done in about 30 minutes but it lasted until near 11:00 am, she had to
have several test before having surgery. On the way back in the park we see
Norm and Marlene sitting out so we stop and visited with them for about two
hours. So it was another late lunch today. This afternoon I went down to Bud
and Joyce’s to water their lawn and also watered our lawn. I did a few other miscellaneous
outside jobs. Cheri finished her sewing project this afternoon. Cheri just told
me it is called a candle mat. I have
taken a couple of pictures of it and did put a candle in the middle of it but
the candle is really too big for the mat, any way you can get the idea.

I
did my walk this morning; I need to get back into the routine, just been lazy.
I was going to start waxing the roof of the 5th wheel this morning
but we had heavy dew so that didn’t happen. Cheri had a $10 dollar off coupon to
use at Beall’s so this morning I dropped her off at Beall’s and I went for a
haircut and then to Lowe’s to get a new water nozzle and some water filters for
the 5th wheel. When I got back to Beall’s I called Cheri and told
her I was ready to pick her up. She said that she hadn’t found anything so she
kept shopping and I waited in the car reading my book. Then we went to Wal-Mart
to pick up a few things. It was around 12:30 pm when we got home. After lunch
is was time to head out for Cheri’s knee doctor appointment. She has a torn meniscus
and is scheduled to have surgery Friday to have it repaired. We got home just
in time for me to go and get Grandma and take her for her 4:00 pm doctor’s
appointment. When I got back Cheri and I headed back to Wal-Mart to get a prescription
of pain medicine fill. The doctor said she is going to need it after she has
her surgery. It was after 6:00 pm when we got home. As you can see it was a
busy day and still didn’t get any work done.

It
was a nice cool 63 degrees this morning, so I continued working on cleaning the
5th wheel. I did get the slide out roofs done. Then it was time to
mow and weed whip Grandma’s lawn. It was after 1:00 pm by the time I got done
and was ready for lunch. Cheri spent the morning cleaning the 5th
wheel inside. After lunch I took my shower and shaved and felt like facing the
rest of the world. I sat down to read for a while and ended up taking a power
nap. I was going to go over to Lowe’s to get a new hose nozzle as when I got
done with the roof I dropped the hose
and broke the lever on the nozzle. I don’t seem to learn as it is the second
one I have broken this year. Well I never did make it to Lowe’s, just too lazy
to get out of the recliner. This evening we met Mike and Pam at Scotland Yards
for their wings special and then over to Mike and Pam’s to play cards and aggravation.
Pam and Cheri won big time at cards. Mike and I did win two of the three games
of aggravation, so it was a win win night for everyone. We were home in time to
watch Dancing with the Stars. I really didn’t have to watch it as Cheri had
already told me who was going to be voted off. Yep she was right and she also
told me who the next two couple that will be voted off.

When
Cheri got up this morning she said she wasn’t going to do to do anything today.
Well she did a load of laundry, fixed meals, and worked on her sewing project.
I guess I better stay out of her way when she says she is going to do
something. My plan for the day was to get the main roof of the 5th
wheel washed. I have been putting it off for months and this was the day to
getter done. I started at 7:30 am and it took me until noon to get done. It was
a perfect day to do it as it was 63 degrees this morning and overcast. Then I was
ready for my shower and shave. This afternoon I rested for a while and then
went out, mowed and weed whipped the lawn. I took a walk up to the dumpster
with garbage. I also have found out that the older I get, the slower I get. My
mine still tells me I can do everything I did fifty years ago but my body tells
me something different. We got a call this evening that Larry and Denise got
home without any more trouble. Larry said it was cold and still a bit of snow
in the driveway, still cold enough that he had to winterize the RV.

Cheri
and I both got up tired this morning guess we did too much walking yesterday.
We picked up Grandma and head off to church at 9:00 am. Pastor Dean had another
great message on how a child should be raised in a modern family. After church
eleven of us went out for lunch together. After we got home Cheri and I crashed
for the afternoon. Cheri napped and worked on her quilt project. I watched the
NASCAR race, well 98 percent of it, and the other 2 percent I had to check my
eyelids. It was a cloudy, gloomy day which also makes it hard to do anything.
Sunday is supposed to be a rest day and that what we did.

We
left at 9:00 am and headed over to New Port Richie to see Sharleen and Robyn.
It is their last day before leaving tomorrow back to Maine. They showed us pictures
of things they have done while they were here for the week. They have done
things that I didn’t even know existed around the area. So now Cheri and I have
a few more things to check out. After visiting for a while we headed over to
the flea market. It is pretty large and it is the first time we have been
there, in fact we didn’t even know there was a flea market in New Prot Richie
until last Monday when Sharleen and Robyn told us about it. I bought two pair
of sun glasses and two dew rages to wear while riding the motorcycle. Cheri
bought some used paperback books written by Phillip Margolin, a very good mystery
writer. After the flea market we stopped at Perkins for lunch and then to a
quilt shop about 12 miles south. Well when we got there the quilt shop had gone
out of business and now is a furniture store. So a couple of stores done the
strip mall was a Beall’s that we stopped at. After that it was time to head
back to Sharleen and Robyn’s. Soon it was 4:00 pm and time to say our goodbyes
and head for home. We stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine and
then to her place to drop it off and see how she was doing. She is doing fine
and said she wants to go to church tomorrow. This evening we got a call from
Larry and Denise and they are in West Virginia. They said it took the
windshield guy until 5:00 pm to get the windshield repaired and had to get some
help with it. So they decided to stay another night where they were because
there were tornado warnings north where they had to go. Today Larry spotted a
piece of steel sticking out of the front tire of their pickup. They unhooked
the truck and took it to get it fixed and ended up putting on the spare tire.
Then when they hooked the truck back to the motor home the tail lights on the
truck wouldn’t work. So Larry had to do a rewire project before they could continue
their trip home. I think they should be writing a blog of their experiences.

We
got a lot of rain last night so today it was hot and muggy. I was a blind man
this morning and it lasted until after 2:00 pm. I had to restring some of our
day/night shades (blinds). It is usually something that I put off as long as
possible because I don’t like doing it. But once I get started it really isn’t
that bad as I have learned over the years the best way to do them. If you have
never done any RVing you wouldn’t understand the day/night shades. They have
strings that cress crosses back in forth though them and after time the strings
wear thin and break. Cheri did some laundry and work on her new quilt project. I
took the van up to Grandma’s so she could go down to the Rec Hall to play cards
this evening and to see how she was feeling. She is feeling much better which
is great news. Around 5:00 pm we got a call from Ron and Sandy wanting to know
if we wanted to go for supper. So they picked us up at 6:00 pm and went to Dade
City to eat that Del Carmen Mexican store and restaurant. We had never been there before and it was very
good and reasonable. Great food with friends, it doesn’t get any better than
that. It was another great day that God made for us.

It
was a busy day getting things done for Grandma. Cheri and I worked on getting
her medicine and medical history updated. I took her for her doctor’s
appointment, she is having trouble with her sinus draining down her throat and
making it sore. The doctor couldn’t find anything wrong but gave her a
prescription for a nose spray and one for ear drops. After lunch Cheri and I
went over to Wal-Mart to drop off the prescriptions and get her some groceries.
After dropping the groceries off at Grandma’s we headed to Dade City to get the
van license plate renewed and her park model plate renewed. That pretty much
took care of our day. In between trips I did get Buds lawn watered and I also
got ours watered. On the way back from Dade City we see that Marline was
sitting out and so we stopped to visit with her. Since Cheri hasn’t been
walking she doesn’t get to see and visit with people. By the time we got home
it was 5:00 pm, time for supper and an evening of TV. Around 6:30 pm we got a
call from Larry and Denise. They are in South Carolina and said that the
windshield popped out at the top and have an appointment tomorrow morning to
get it fixed again. They just had it repaired Wednesday here in Zephyrhills; I
think they should be sending the bill to the place here in Zephyrhills for the
second repair.

We
had a pretty quite morning, not much going on. We are both tired, maybe it is
the old age catching up with us. I got a lot of sun yesterday from our
motorcycle ride and I think that took a lot out of me. Cheri has a tough time
with her knee, sure will be glad when next week rolls around so Cheri can see
the doctor again and hopefully get the knee fixed. Larry and Denise got their
motor home windshield repaired and was done a little before noon. This afternoon
Cheri and Denise headed to the south side of Lakeland to a quilt shop that they
hadn’t been to before. Larry and I went for our last motorcycle ride together
this season. Larry and I got back around 5:00 pm and Cheri and Denise had got
home just before us. We played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot before Cheri fixed
dinner for us. I grilled up some chicken, spinach, and cheese sausages. After
dinner we played one more game of cards. The girls won one and we guys won one.
Larry and Denise leave tomorrow morning for Ontario. We have had a lot of fun
this winter and sure are going to miss them as we have done so much together.

(I
am late getting the blog done this morning due to laziness.) It was a beautiful
morning and I had an appointment at the VA here in Zephyrhills. It was a pre colonoscopy
screening, only took about 10 minutes. So I was back home by 8:45 am. I sent an
e-mail to Larry and Denise to see if Larry wanted to go for a motorcycle ride
today. I got an answer and he said it was a good plan and would be over at
10:00 am. Denise came over with him, so Cheri and Denise went shopping and also
made a fleece blanket. Cheri had wanted to learn how to make one. So they did
one together, now Cheri will probably be making them also. Larry and I rode
farther south than we have ever been before. We rode 214 miles and had a fun
and relaxing ride. It was 5:00 pm when we got back and stopped by Larry and
Denise to help Larry get his motor home moved to a different site as he has an
appointment at 7:30 am to have the windshield reinstalled. It had popped out on
one side when the ground settled under the front jack (small sink hole). It was
near 6:30 pm before we got back to our place, Cheri and Denise was begging to
worry about us. Larry and I were hot from the ride and had a beer before we
went to Golden Corral for Dinner. Then back to our place to play one game of
cards which the girls won.

It
was a beautiful day with the temp in the low to mid 80’s. We didn’t spend much
time outside so maybe it was hotter than I thought. Cheri’s sister Sharleen and
her daughter Robyn are down from Maine for a week and are staying over in New
Port Richie. They arrived here around 9:30 am. We did get to see Robyn last
year for a couple of days but hadn’t seen Sharleen since 2009 when we were in Maine.
Sure was good to see them. It took us all day to catch up on what everybody has
been doing. Larry and Denise stopped in to drop off a pattern for Cheri; I
think it is their next project. We took Sharleen and Robyn to Golden Corral for
lunch. Sure can tell that most of the snow birds have gone north as there wasn’t
any line to wait in and a good third of the tables were empty. After lunch we
took them for a short ride around town, thought we would get to see some sky
divers but nothing going on there. So we came back to our place to visit and
look at pictures they brought with them and we show pictures we had. They left
around 4:30 pm and made plans to go see them on Saturday. After they left I turned
on the TV and see what had happened in Boston, I can’t understand why people
want to do such terribly things to other people. We all need to pray for our
country and the people that got hurt today.

Cheri
and I both got up really tired this morning. We both put in a bad night, think
it may have been the soda we had with the pizza, Mountain Dew. It has a lot of caffeine
and it was late when we had it. Grandma was feeling better and went to church
with us. Pastor Dean didn’t deliver the message today. We are doing a series
called the Modern Family and he had Dr David Clarke deliver the message. The title
was Building Healthy Self-Esteem in Children. It was very good message, not so
much for us families that have already raised our children, but was still
enjoyable. After church we along with Mike and Pam went to a new place for
lunch that just opened in the last few weeks called the Next Door. The food was
excellent and plan on going back again. This afternoon Cheri work on her quilt
and finished it, plus took a nap to catch up on her sleep that she didn’t get
last night. I read for a while and napped, wake up and read some more and then
napped some more. I continued this until Cheri got up around 6:00 pm. I guess
you could say we had a very lazy afternoon.

It
was another very warm morning and by 9:00 am we had the air conditioner
running. Our weather went from cold mornings to hot days in just the last few
days. Cheri worked on her quilt and I worked outside on the motorcycle. I had a
broken rear crash bar that needed to be fixed so I went to Lowe’s to get a
fastener to do the repair. I was done at noon and was soak and wet from
sweating. The high humidity has also returned with the hot weather. Larry and
Denise had e-mailed us and we all decided it was too hot to do anything outside
so after lunch we went over to their place to play cards. We played Hand, Knee
and Foot. It took us six hours to play three games. We took a break for an hour
getting a pizza from Pizza Hut and we also had some carrot cake that Cheri made
for Larry. Then we played one more game of Hand, Knee and Foot which took
another two hours. Larry and I only won one game. It was 9:30 pm when we got
home and I watched the NASCAR race that I had recorded and Cheri continued to
work on her quilt.

It
was a warm overcast day with rain showers off and on during the day. Cheri had
a 9:00 am appointment to get the MRI on her knee. It was after 11:00 am before
we got home. We rested for an hour, had lunch and then went to Wal-Mart for
groceries and printer ink. When we got home I put in the new ink cartage and
finished copying some quilt patterns for Cheri. After I got that done it was
time to take Grandma for her 2:45 pm doctor’s appointment. The CT scan that she
had came back and everything is good. She still has some pain in her stomach so
now we have to go see a different doctor for that. When I got home Cheri was
working on her quilt. Today was wash day and we couldn’t hang the sheets out
because of the weather. I love the fresh smell of sheets that have been hung on
the line to dry, nice to have a dryer when the weather is bad.

It
was already 74 degrees this morning and headed for a high 88 degrees. It was
overcast and thought it would be a good time to mow Bud’s and our lawn. It was
almost noon when I got down. Just as I was finishing Larry and Denise came and
want to know what we were doing for the day. Cheri had been working on her
quilt which I thought all she had to do was the binding but I miss under stood
her, she has to do some sewing around the outside and then it will be ready for
the binding. Cheri and I had a sandwich for lunch while visiting with Larry and
Denise. We couldn’t figure out anything to do because it was so hot out, so we
played cards all afternoon. Around 4:30 pm the four of us headed down to
Lakeland and had dinner at Olive Garden. It started raining while we were
eating and was really coming down hard but when we left it was just sprinkling.
We drove over to Michel’s where Larry and Denise wanted get some map pins. Just
as we entered the store the rain came again really hard. It was coming down so
hard you could hardly hear anything that was said. Within a few minutes it had
let up enough for Larry and me to walk next door to Staple’s and then it rained
really hard again. By the time we left the rain was almost over and we got to
see an assume sunset. The rain helped cool things down for the evening. Another
wonderful day God made for us.

We
were in no hurry to get around this morning, no plans until 10:00 am. Then it
was time to take Cheri for her doctor’s appointment to get her knee checked
out. They took some additional x-rays. The doctor thinks it is a torn meniscus.
But to be sure Cheri has to have a MRI on it. We have it scheduled for Friday.
Then she can’t get back in to see the doctor until April 24, so another two
weeks of pain for her. It was noon when we got home. This afternoon Cheri
worked on her quilt and now all she has left to do is the binding. I did some
work on the 5th wheel. We had the closet wall in the bath room come
loose from the floor, so a few holes with the drill and some new screws and it
was as good as new (I like to think better then new). I went down and watered
Bud and Joyce’s lawn, I told Bud that I would take care of it for him. Late
afternoon I made a trip to the grocery store to get some milk and water. We had
another beautiful day with fluffy clouds and 85 degrees.

We
had a busy day. I left at 8:45 am to take Grandma to the hospital walk in
clinic to have a CT done of her stomach. She is still having a lot of pain and
we need to find out what the problem is. They had trouble getting an IV in her
arm and ended up getting a nurse from ER to put the IV in. It was a little
after 11:00 am when I got home, Cheri was icing her knee. We called Larry and
Denise and told them that we were going to have a quick lunch and would pick
them up at noon. We are going down to St Pete to see that Tall Ship Lynx. It
was fun touring the ship and hearing stories from the crew. We even had the
chance to go out for a two hour cruse on it, but decided that we would pass on
that, afraid they would put me to work or throw me overboard. After our ship
tour we went to over to St Pete pier. It is a neat place to visit and shop.
After Cheri and Denise got done shopping we had an ice cream. We were just
getting done with our ice cream when I looked out and saw the Lynx sailing in
the distance. So we grabbed our cameras and headed up to the top of the pier to
take pictures. Then it was time to head home to avoid the afternoon rush hour
traffic. We dropped off Larry and Denise and then headed over to see how
Grandma was doing. She must be feeling better because she was playing cards with
Carol. After checking on Grandma we went to Subway to have a sub for supper. It
was another beautiful day that God made for us to spend with friends. For more

Larry
needed to return his motorcycle seat as it needs to be redone to fit him
better. So we made it our weekly ride. There were only four of us as the rest
of our riding group has gone back north for the summer. We left at 10:00 am and
it was already 74 degrees with lots of sunshine. They were able to redo Larry’s
motorcycle seat while we waited. After we got done we rode over to McDonalds
for lunch. It cost me $2.14 for lunch. I had a chicken sandwich for a $1.00 and
a senior drink for a $1.00 and they gave me a small cup for my drink. I asked
them how much the regular drink which is in a cup twice as big and they told me
it was 1.00. So at McDonalds the only thing that is senior is the size of the
cup. I guess they don’t really care if senior’s eat at McDonalds, I know I will
be driving on by to Wendy’s or Burger King in the future. We also made a stop
at the Harley dealer in Brandon on the way home. It is the first time we have
been there this season. I got another poker chip and now have nine of them
which means we have been to nine different Harley dealers in the last six
weeks. Cheri and Denise went shopping and got home the same time we did. So we played
a game of cards that Larry and I won. Then we decided to go over to DQ for
supper and have their $5.00 special, we found out that it was only for lunch. So
we left and went to Pizza Hut for their large pizza for $10.00 and we had
enough to bring home for another meal. When we got back to our place we played
another game of card that Larry and I won by a large margin. Now it’s time for
Cheri to watch Dancing with the Stars.

yesterday. Then we watched some TV shows that we had recorded. Later in the
afternoon I started watching the NASCAR race and Cheri worked on her quilt. A
little later Larry and Denise stopped over for a visit and decided what we are
going to do tomorrow. After they left I went back to watching the race and
Cheri worked some more on her quilt. After the race we had a light supper and more
TV. It seemed nice to have a relaxing day.

It
was a beautiful day that God made for us. It was in the mid 70’s with lots of
sunshine, white fluffy clouds and low humidity. This forenoon we went down to
Bud and Joyce’s to visit as they are leaving in the morning to go back north
for the summer. I think they are leaving too soon as it is still cold in the
north. This afternoon we picked up Larry and Denise and headed over to Spring
Hill to Weeki Wachee Springs state park. Our first stop was the Underwater
Theater to watch the mermaid show (really neat). The next stop was the animal
show (shakes and alligators). Then we walked over to the river boat ride but it
was an hour wait, so we decided to skip it. We did a little more walking around
and then decided to leave. Denise wanted to have some ice cream and they didn’t
have any in the park so as we were leaving the park I saw Hardies and figured
that they would have ice cream. Well behind Hardies was a strip mall with a
Fro-Yo yogurt shop. They had several different flavors with all different kinds
of toppings. You take as much as you want and then pay by the weight. It was
pretty good but not as good as old fashion ice cream. I knew we would pass a
quilt shop on the way home so I stopped for Cheri and Denise; they were surprised
as they didn’t know about it until I pulled into the parking lot. Denise wanted
to stop at a book store so we went to the Wiregrass Shops and stopped at Barnes
& Noble. Then it was back to Zephyrhills for pizza at Pizza Hut. It was
around 6:30 pm when we arrived at Larry and Denise’s to play on game of Hand,
Knee and foot that the girls won. To see pictures of the day click on this

I
put in a terrible night, when I went to bed I couldn’t get my mine to stop
working. So I got up and read until near 3:00 am. I didn’t get up until a
little after 7:00 am. At 10:00 am I went up to Grandma’s and she said that she
was sick again last night. So I called Cheri to see about getting her a doctor’s
appointment. Then I took her to Wal-Mart so she could get her hair cut and pick
up some groceries. Cheri called me and told me she got Grandma an appointment
with the doctor at 2:30 pm, surprised that she could get in so soon. It was
after noon when I got home, had lunch and a chance to rest a bit. Cheri spent
the day working on her quilt. At 2:15 pm I left to take Grandma to the doctor.
After we were done with the doctor I had to take her to the walk in clinic for
blood work and set up an appointment on Tuesday, she is going to have a CT scan
of her stomach. It was 4:30 pm when we got home. I had told Bud that we would
stop down and see them late this afternoon as they are leaving Sunday morning.
So we headed right down to see them and they were just leaving to go out and to
eat with friends. Pam had called and wanted us to go and eat with them and play
cards afterwards at their place. So Cheri gave Pam a call and told her we were
on our way up to pick them up. We went to Dade City and eat at A Matter of
Taste. I had the best meal that I have had in a long time. We went back to Mike
and Pam’s to play Hand, Knee and Foot which Mike and I won. Then we played two
games of Aggregation which Pam and Cheri won.

We
had plans today to go shopping with Larry and Denise. When they got here I told
them that I had gotten an e-mail from Grandma saying her roof had leaked in the
bedroom. Larry offered to help me fix the leak. So Cheri and Denise went on
shopping, Cheri wanted to see about getting some different materials for her
quilt and Denise wanted go to a book store. Larry and I took my ladder and went
up to Grandma’s to fix the roof. I set up the ladder and checked the roof and
everything looked ok. So I went inside to see where it was leaking. When I checked
the ceiling it was all dry, no leak. It had leaked last year while we were in
Alaska and Grandma had a local guy come and fix it, she thought it was leaking
again. When we got back to our place I was telling Larry I needed to work on
the air conditioner as it was dripping water on to the kitchen counter after it
run for awhile. So we went up on the roof and gave it a good cleaning and found
the drain hole was plugged. It took us a good hour to get it cleaned and put back
together, it started to rain as we finished up. Larry and I went down to their
park for lunch as the park was having hamburgers, chips and soda for $3.00. When
we got back to our place I was showing Larry what I wanted to do with my generator.
I want to do a permit installation and wanted Larry’s input. I think we pretty
well got it figured out, another project for this summer. A little later Cheri
and Denise came home. We couldn’t do anything outside because it was raining so
we play a couple games of cards that the girls won.

This
morning Cheri and I did paper work for Grandma or I should say Cheri did the
paper work; I got some of the things together that she needed to fill out the
papers. I went up to see how Grandma was doing and to get some information for
Cheri. I went to the bank for Grandma and then took her van in for an oil change,
had to wait about two hours. I had my book with me to read so I really didn’t
care that I had to wait. When I got home Cheri was working on her quilt,
cutting out and sewing on the border material. When she got done we looked at
it lying on the bed and Cheri said she didn’t like it so she found some different
material use. I was done doing anything outside as it started to rain so I
finished reading my book which I have been reading for the last four or five
weeks. After supper we settled in to catch up on some TV shows we had recorded
and while watching TV Cheri took apart the quilt border that she spent most of
the day doing.

Larry
and I left at 9:00 am on the motorcycles to the Daytona Harley dealer in Ormond
Beach. We arrived at the Harley dealer at 11:30 am. After checking everything
out that we went for we then rode over to JP Cycle which is close by. I never carry
my cell phone on me when I ride so I usually don’t check it to see if anyone
called. But I did today around 1:30 pm when we were ready to leave JP Cycle’s.
I see Denise called me at 10:00 am and left a message for Larry to call her
right away. So I gave my phone to Larry and told him to call Denise. Larry had
locked the RV door with his key flab and Denise couldn’t get out of the RV.
Larry had both key flabs with him. She ended up getting the attention of a guy
walking by and he got a ladder so she could get out through a window. By this
time I am sure Denise was upset and could have wrung Larry’s neck if he had
been around. Denise said nothing was going to stop her from going shopping with
Cheri today. Larry and I had a good laugh while eating lunch at Burger King. It
was after 5:00 pm and 255 mile later when we got home. Cheri and Denise were
working on their quit projects. Larry checked to see if it was safe to go in
and see Denise. We all had a good laugh and were making jokes about Larry
locking Denise in so she couldn’t go shopping. Later we went over to Chili’s
for supper so Larry could make it up to Denise.

It
was 62 degrees this morning, how nice is that. I had to go to Tampa this
morning to get my shingles shot. I have never had the shingles before but I remember
my dad having them and all the pain he went through. I took the motorcycle and
Larry went along with me for the ride. I had to wait about an hour which isn’t
all that bad for the VA. I needed to wait around for an hour after I got the
shot to see if I was going to have a reaction to it so Larry and I went over to
Burger King and had an early lunch, no reaction so we headed back home. Denise
was at our place and she and Cheri were working on their quilt project. Larry
and I worked on his truck again as he had a back door that wouldn’t open so we
took that apart and fixed it. He also had a window that wouldn’t go down
anymore so we found that the problem was with the switch. We went over to the
salvage yard to see if they had a used one because we thought it would be very expensive,
well no luck there so we went to the auto parts store to see what it would
cost. They didn’t have one in stock and said that they would have one by 4:30
pm and it was only $25.00. So we headed back home to see
if the girls wanted to play cards. We played one game and it was near 5:00 pm
when we got done with it. Cheri and Denise fixed supper while Larry and I went
to pick up the window switch. It only took a couple of minutes to install the
new switch and when we got home Cheri and Denise had supper ready for us. After
supper we played one more game of cards and the girls were the big winners
today. After Larry and Denise headed home and we settled in to watch Dancing
with the Stars.

The
plan for today was to go to late church and then after church Grandma was going
to be baptized. We got a call from Grandma saying that she was still under the
weather. So Cheri and I went to early church and then came back to see how she
was and she said she wanted to go to be baptized. So we left for church with
her at 12:45 pm as the baptism was to start at 1:15 pm. They were late getting
started and we didn’t get done until after 2:00 pm, everything went really well.
I was able to park the van right next to the swimming pool, so Grandma and
Cheri didn’t have to walk very far. I help Grandma into the pool and helped
Pastor Dean do the baptism. How great that is when you can help your mother be
baptized. As soon as we got done we took her back home so she could get dried
off and relax. We picked up Larry and Denise at 4:15 and went to Golden Corral
for Easter dinner. There was a long line to wait in but was well worth it. Afterwards
we went over to Larry and Denise’s to play one game of cards that Larry and I
won. One game was all I could handle as I was up at 3:30 am this morning, I woke
up and my mine started working and could go back to sleep, so I got up for the
day.
