Our
morning temp was down another degree to 67, the lowest since spring. I guess it
is a sign of fall in the air. Plus the humidity was low which made for a very
nice day. We picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church. Pastor Dean
continued the series on tidings and had another good message. After church
seven of us went to Chili’s for lunch. After we dropped off Grandma at home
Cheri and I went and got haircuts. We went at the right time as they had a sale
on haircuts for $7.99. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home, with no Green Bay
Packer football today I figured I would get some painting done in the house
shed. Well I started to walk by the recliner and that was as far as I got. I
watched the rest of the Wisconsin Badger game that I was watching last night
and saw the Badgers actually did better than I thought they would do. Cheri
read the Sunday paper and I watched the NASCAR race. After Cheri’s nap we
called Nikki and did a Skype video call with Cheri’s I Pad. We walked around
inside and outside of the house so she could see everything. We had wanted Coz
to see it also but he was at work. We also listened to some good old time gospel
music that Pam called us about. We spent the evening watching some of the new
fall TV shows. So it was a lazy day in the neighborhood.

It
was Cheri’s day to sleep in as there is no pool exercise class on Saturday. She
looks forward to sleeping in. Of course I didn’t help with her night’s sleep as
I did a lot of snoring so she left in the night and went to the quest bedroom
to sleep. I also didn’t have a very good night’s sleep. It was 69 degrees this
morning and only a ten percent chance of rain. So I got the motorcycle out and
went for an eighty mile ride. I ended up at the Harley dealer in Lakeland, didn’t
know they were having an open house today. I got a chance to check out a couple
of things I need (want) for the motorcycle. I got a call from Cheri while I was
there telling me she was going shopping with Pam. I got home around noon, had
lunch and then rearrange the way we have things under the car port. I moved the
bike barn around and decided to use it until it is sold. Then I sat down to
watch some college foot ball which didn’t last long as I fell asleep. My phone
woke me and it was Coz calling and wanted to set up a Skype call with us. So I
got to see and talk to Coz, Nikki and Cece. While I was talking to them Cheri
called and talked to them from my Cell phone through Skype. She had called to
tell me she was coming to pick me to go out for supper at Panera Bread with
Mike and Pam. After supper we went over to Lowe’s to buy some more paint for
the house shed and dream about other things we want to do in the house. By the
time we got home it was time to watch the Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State
play. I stayed up until near the end of the third quarter, couldn’t stay awake
any longer and the Badger’s were losing, It was easy to see why Ohio State is
rated number 4 and the Badgers are rated number 23. Oh yes we did get the 10
percent rain late this afternoon.

I
was up at 3:30 am this morning not able to sleep, think it might be the
medicine I am taking for my leg. Cheri started a load of laundry before she
left for her pool exercise. When the laundry was done I put it in the dryer for
her and hung out the rest on the clothe line. When Cheri got home she started
another load of laundry and I went to the U Haul store and made the reservation
for the U Haul truck in Wisconsin. Then I went to Baker Acers to mow Bud’s lawn
and start the water sprinkler, then to Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine.
I went to Lowe’s to check on shelving for the house shed. I didn’t find
anything that would fit or it was just too expensive, so I checked lumber cost
and I can built them cheaper and have the size I want, I think that project is
going to wait until we get back from Wisconsin. I headed back to Baker Acers to
drop off Grandma’s medicine and to turn off the water sprinkler on Bud’s lawn.
It was time for lunch when I got home. Cheri was doing some house cleaning and
starting a new quilt project. This afternoon I rested and took a nap. Cheri had
gotten the digital picture frame out and wanted me to get it working with our
Alaskan trip pictures on it. Will in our move from the 5th wheel I can’t
find my flash drives. I kind of remember putting them in something that I would
be sure to know where they would be. Well as you can see I didn’t find them. I
must have looked though everything a couple of time with no luck. I guess I will
have to wait for them to find me. Mike & Mary and Norm & Marlene came
over for supper this evening. We called in an order for pizza from Capri. Then
we guys went over to pick them up. They had never had their pizza before and
thought it was very good. It was a nice evening to spend with friends.

This morning a couple of guys were doing some tree trimming for our neighbors so I went out and talked to them to see about getting the tree in our back yard trimmed. Actually the tree is on the other side of the fence, not in our park. So I wanted the side that hung over the fence to our side trimmed. They quoted me a cost of $125.00 so I had them do the trimming and haul everything away. I was going to buy an electric chain saw that was on a pole to do the trimming myself. But in the end it would have cost me more to do it myself to get the equipment and then I would have to hire someone haul everything away. Glad to have that project done and off my list. Cheri and I are planning a trip to Wisconsin to pick up the furniture and stuff we stored there after we sold our house eight years ago. I have been searching the internet for different ways of on we are going to get everything back to Florida. I have it down to a U Haul or Budget truck I hope to get a reservation for one tomorrow. We plan on flying up and see friends and family then rent the truck and haul everything back to Florida. Everything is stored in a utility trailer we bought; we have no use for the trailer here in Florida so if we load everything into a truck we can leave the trailer in Wisconsin to be sold. We also made a trip to New Port Richey yesterday to drop off a quilt project that Cheri made for the Lady where we went for a massage a few weeks back. She was really liked what Cheri had done and was excited about getting it. She gave Cheri a coupon for two massages. We stopped at Sam’s on the way home; we didn’t need anything but still managed to spend over $100. When we got home I washed the Bike Barn as someone was suppose to come and look at it this evening but never did show up. We had picked up Grandma’s medicine earlier in the day and took that over to her this evening then we stopped by Ed and Loraine’s for a visit as it is the first time we were able stop and visit with them since there return to Florida, Mike and Mary were also there. Then we made a quick stop at Norm and Marlene’s to say high.

We
got up to a wet rainy morning and it didn’t quit until around 1:00 pm. Cheri’s
pool exercise class was postponed until 1:00 pm. I had an 8:45 am fasting lab
at the VA clinic. The good thing I was in and out in 15 minutes plus I got my flu
shot. When I got home Cheri was doing some house cleaning and after breakfast I
went to work in the shed. I got the new lights installed and when I turned them
on only one of them would work. I tried changing bulbs and checked my wiring
and it still didn’t work. I took it down and opened it up and found three wires
that weren’t connected. It is frustrating when you buy something new and it
doesn’t work. Anyway got it fixed and back up so now I have some nice lighting
in the shed. My next project was to install my bench extension I had in the
other shed, first it was time to take a break for lunch. While we were having
lunch Pam called and wanted to know if we were home and was coming over with
something for us. Well when they got here they had a beautiful mum plant for us
as a house warming gift. We sat it out in front of the house. Now I need to get
some work out there as all I had done was pull out most of everything that was
in the flower bed. We visited for a bit and they were on their way to have
lunch and then were coming back late this afternoon to play cards. We played
one game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Mike and I thought we were going to win
but Pam and Cheri came back and won it, was a very close game. Then it was time
to feast on some finger food that Cheri fixed, very good food. After visiting
for a while we played another game of Hand, Knee and foot which Cheri and Pam
won, it was another close game. After Mike and Pam left we watched a little TV
and called it a night.

Cheri
was getting ready to leave for her 8:10 am fasting lab appointment when she got
a call from Mary to cancel the pool exercise this morning as it was raining. I
told her that when we she got back I would take her out for breakfast. After
breakfast I was going to the VA clinic to see if I could get in to see the
doctor about my leg. Cheri said that we should go there first as it would be
early and maybe have better luck getting in. I went in and they told me I could
see the nurse in about half an hour. So I waited to see her, she looked at my
leg and said I need to go and talk to the doctor. Well in a short she came back
with the doctor and see look at my leg. She wasn’t sure if it was shingles or
not. She called in a prescription of drugs for me and said that if it didn’t
get any better that I should go to the urgent care and have it looked at. So
after Cheri waited an hour for me it was time to go to Next Door Diner for
breakfast. We both had a pastrami omelet with home fries, toast, and coffee, late
breakfast met no lunch today. From there we headed to Tampa to pick up my
medicine. We got home just in time for me to get to my 1:00 pm security
meeting. It was around 2:30 pm before I got home. It was too late to start any
outside work so we rested and watched some TV until it was time to leave and
meet Mike and Pam for supper at Subway. From there the four of us went to our
Life Group gathering. We learned more about tithing and giving. It was another
damp day with a little rain off and on all day. Yesterday we got three inches
of rain. The blog is late today as I had trouble getting it uploaded.

Cheri
had to cut her pool exercise short this morning as I needed the van to take
Grandma for her 9:30 am doctor’s appointment. We got a new prescription and
went over to CVS to get it filled and they didn’t have the medicine so we went
to Walgreens and they didn’t have it either. But they called the other
Walgreens in Zephyrhills and they didn’t have so they called Walgreens in Dade
City and they had it so Grandma and I headed to Dade City to get it filled.
They told me it wouldn’t be ready until 1:30 pm. It was after 11:00 am before I
got Grandma home. I made a quick stop at Norm and Marlene’s and then home for
lunch. Then it was time to go and pick up Grandma for her 1:10 pm doctor’s
appointment. After that we went back to the doctor where we were this morning
to get another prescription. Then we headed to Dade City to pick up the other
medicine. When we were driving into Walgreens the van didn’t have any power
steering. Of course it was really raining hard all afternoon. I got the
umbrella out and looked under the hood and see the serpentine belt was broken.
I went in and got the medicine and then called Norm to come and pick us up.
After we got Grandma home Norm took me back up to the van and found the belt
had just come off and wasn’t broken which was good news but didn’t have any
tools to put it back on. With the belt off you don’t have any power steering
and the alternator doesn’t work. So I decide to drive it home where I could
work on it and Norm followed me. Well I got within 1000 feet of home when the
engine died for lack of battery power. Yes it was still raining. Norm took me
over to Mike’s to see about having him pull me up to the house. But decided to
wait for it quit raining and about half an hour it let up so I took some tools
done and was putting the belt back on when Mike came. We got the belt on and
were going to jump the battery to get it started but sitting for a while
brought the battery back up enough to get it started. I drove home and put the
battery charger on. On the way to Dade City I went through some deep water in
Zephyrhills and that must have caused the belt to come off. Cheri spent the day
doing paper work, reading, and she made a wonderful supper of roast beef,
onions and potatoes in the crock pot. After supper I had to go back over to
Grandma’s to drop off her walker that was in the van. Then stopped by Norm and
Marlene’s to thank them for what they did for me today. I am looking forward to
a better day tomorrow. We watched Dancing with the Stars this evening and Judge
Cheri had a different person to be voted off.

Grandma
went to church with us this morning. Pastor Dean had a very good message on giving
and tithing. After church it was just the three of us to go for lunch, some of
our lunch group was sick or not feeling good. We went to Next Door Diner for
lunch, the food was excellent. When we got home I settled in for an afternoon
of football and NASCAR racing. It wasn’t a good day for the Green Bay Packers
as they played a very sloppy game and lost. Plus the race didn’t turn out to my
liking. Cheri settled in with the Sunday paper and the book she has been
reading. It wasn’t long and I see she was napping. A few days ago I got up with some red welts on
my leg and thought that I must have gotten bit by a spider during the night.
Well it has gotten worse and having a lot of pain with it, so now I think I have
a case of the shingles. I have heard that they can be very painful so I got the
shingles shot a few months ago. It doesn’t keep you from getting them but it is
not supposed to be as painful. If this is what I have, I can’t imagine what a
full blown care would be like. I do remember when my dad had them and how much
pain he was in.

Cheri
doesn’t have pool exercises on Saturday so it is her day to sleep in. When she
did get up I went to check on her and we decide we should go to Golden Corral
for breakfast. I love going out for breakfast as it is my favorite meal of the
day. Maybe it is because when we are home we don’t have much for breakfast.
After breakfast we filled the van with gas and went to Lowe’s to get salt for
the water softener. On the way back home we stopped by Mike and Mary’s to see
about going to the car show this evening at Plant City. Well the car show has
been put on hold until next month as Mike and I are doing security this
evening. Mike was talking to someone today and they weren’t able to do their
turn so Mike volunteered us. When we got home Cheri worked on house cleaning
and I went out to the shed and started the painting I wanted to get done the
other day. A little later Cheri came out and said (our son) Darren was on the
phone and wants to do a Skype video so he can show us his new loft apartment.
It was a neat way to see everything in his apartment. It is very nice and he is
happy to be right down town Atlanta. As for us the smaller the town the better
in fact if we could afford it we would have some place out in the country.
After the call with Darren we Skyped Larry and Denise as they are home from
their Alaska trip, so it was nice catching up with them. Then it was time to
get back to my painting and Cheri’s house cleaning. I ran out of paint before I
got everything done. But got enough done so I can install the lights and the
other part of the work bench. It was after 4:00 pm when I quit and then
remembered the Badger football game started at 3:30 pm so I sat down and
watched the game, good game because the Badgers won. Mike picked me up at 9:00
pm to start security, which only lasted a over an hour because the golf cart
started acting up and sometimes didn’t want to move so we put it away and
called it a night.

Things
didn’t go as I had planned today. I was going to start early painting in the
shed but Grandma had a lab appointment at 10:30 am and I didn’t think I would
be able to get much done before it was time to take Grandma so I just wimped
out and relaxed. We had a 45 minute wait at the lab before Grandma could get in.
After I dropped off Grandma I stopped to visit with Norm and Marlene. On the
way home I stopped and mowed Bud’s lawn and started the sprinkler. So it will
after lunch time before I got home. Cheri was working on some sewing that she
was doing for Pam. Cheri called in Grandma’s medicine prescriptions and also
had to make an appointment with the doctor in order to get one of her prescriptions
renewed. Grandma also gave me a list of things she needed from Wal-Mart so
later this afternoon when her medicine was ready to pick up we headed over to
Wal-Mart. I also got the oil changed in the van while we were there. That
pretty much took care of the day. So the painting will have to wait for another
day. Yes Cheri did go to the pool this morning.

Today
was more of a down day; I mean very little work and more fun. Cheri headed out
for her exercise class and I went to the shed and did the Caulking and it is
now ready for paint. That was the end of the work day and was time to get ready
for a road trip with Norm & Marlene and Mike & Mary. They picked us up
at 12:00 pm and we headed in a new direction. Our first stop was at Joann
Fabric’s in New Tampa for the ladies. Then it was time to have lunch at Acropolis
Greek Taverna. Mike and Mary had been there before and said it was very good. I
had their homemade mushroom soup and a Greek shrimp wrap, the wrap was made
with spinach. It was very good. Cheri had a Greek chicken wrap with a Greek
salad. After lunch we headed for a Hallmark shop which we had a hard time
finding. Marlene wanted to get some cards and a Christmas ornament. Then we
took a roundabout way to get back home. No stops this time for the guys, we
were along for the lunch. Later we went up to Mike and Pam’s to play cards and
have dessert. We played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot which Mike and I won.
Lately we have been alternating on winning, last time Pam and Cheri won. We
also played one game of SOB which Mike won. It was so nice to have a relaxing
day with friends that God has blessed us with.

At
8:15 am Cheri headed for the pool for her exercise class and I went out to work
on the house shed. I worked until noon and took a break for lunch. Cheri was
working on the quilt project. After lunch it was back to work in the shed. I
got done putting up the wall board around 3:00 pm and was ready to quit for the
day. I have to do a little caulking and it will be ready for paint (maybe
tomorrow). Cheri finished the quilt project that she was working for the lady
at the place where we got our massages. I took a shower and then we headed to
Wal-Mart for groceries and a few other things. After supper we walked over to
welcome Carl and Mary to Sundance. They are from Baker Acers and bought a house
across the street from us. They showed us through their new house, very nice three
bedrooms with an office and large sun room. I forgot to set out the recyclables
last night and thought I would get them out this morning. Well they came by at
6:20 am, so now I have to wait another two weeks. That is what happens when you
are a little slow getting up in the morning.

Gay Sept-17-13

This
morning after Cheri left for her pool exercise I sat down and worked on health
insurance, yes we are still trying to get things straighten out from South
Dakota to Florida. It has been a long process. When Cheri got home it was time
for me to take Grandma for her heart sonogram. It will be two weeks before we
get the results from it. It was noon before I got home; Cheri had the bread
maker out and was making homemade bread. This afternoon it was back to work on
the health insurance. By 4:00 pm I was done with the insurance and I was done
for the day. Just think we get to start all over again in November with Obama
care, I can hardly wait. Cheri worked on her quilt project this afternoon plus
she also made call to our insurance agent back in Wisconsin to get a life
insurance address change done. She had called the company over a month ago to
have it changed but still got mail at the old address. Tonight was our first
fall Life Group gathering. There were sixteen of us and we got to meet some new
people from church. It is always a good time when you can meet new friends and
spend time with God.

Gay Sept-16-13

As
soon as Cheri got home from the pool I had to leave to pick up Grandma and take
her for her 10:00 am heart doctor’s appointment. We found out that she has a
leaky heart valve. She had a sonogram last September which showed the leaky
valve but we were gone for the summer and never knew anything about it. So
tomorrow she has another sonogram to see if it has gotten any worse. It was
near 1:00 pm before I got home. Cheri was working on a quilt project that a
lady where we got our massages has commissioned her to do. After lunch I had to
force myself to go out and work in the house shed. It was one of those days
when you don’t care if you doing anything. I did get most of the electrical done
and can continue to put up more wall board now. Then it was time for shower
number two and relax a bit before we met Pam & Mike to go for supper at On
Q. We each had a groupon to save a little money, a good place to have barbeque.
After we eat we took a nice ride out through the country side and then back to
our car. We got home just before Dancing with the Stars was to start, Cheri is
excited, me not so much.

Gay Sept-15-13

Neither
Cheri nor I had a very good night’s sleep, so we are both tired today. We
picked up Grandma for church. I was a little disappointed in the message today
but the music was really good. After church ten of us went to Olive Garden for
lunch, hard to beat their soup and salad. When we got home it was football and
NASCAR racing for me, reading and napping for Cheri. First I watch the rest of
the Wisconsin Badgers football game. I was told at lunch that the Badgers had
won the game but I still wanted to watch it. Well with 55 seconds left in the
game with the Badgers behind by two points the recorder had stopped recording
as it was a long game. So I figured I miss a few great plays, went on the
internet and found out that the Badgers had lost. Next I settled in and watched
the Packers play Washington and I thought that it would be a tough game for the
Packers, boy was I wrong as they played a great game. Then I tuned to the
NASCAR race I was recording. It was in a rain delay and they finally got it
started but a short time later it was raining again. At 9:00 pm we called it at
day and headed to bed.

Gay Sept-14-13

Cheri
has started a new quilt project today and I continued to work in the house
shed. I got the electric wiring run and measurements for the additional materials
I need. I also took the cones off the security lights and gave them a paint
job, now they look like new. When I came in for lunch Cheri said that she
needed to go to Staples to have a pattern enlarged for the project she is work
on and I wanted to go to Lowe’s to pick up the additional materials for the
house shed. I dropped Cheri off at Staples and went over to Baker Acers to
start the sprinkler on Bud’s lawn. With all that rain we got last night in Dade
City it only was only a sprinkle in Baker Acers. When I got back to Staples I
figured Cheri would be waiting for me but when I went inside the lady that was
waiting on her got a phone call and Cheri waited for over ten minutes while she
was on the phone. Then we headed to Lowe’s and got the shed materials. After I got
the materials unloaded I was ready to take my shower and relax, even took a nap
this afternoon. This evening Mike and I were supposed to do security in park.
But just before 9:00 pm when we were supposed to start a bad rain storm with a
lot of lighting came through so security was cancelled for the night. The
Wisconsin Badger football didn’t start until 10:30 pm as they were playing in Arizona.
I watch the first quarter and went to bed, couldn’t stay awake any longer.

Gay Sept-13-13

Ok
it’s Friday the 13th, should I stay in bed for the day. Well I did
get up and my day didn’t start out very good. The computer locked up on start
up and took a while to get everything up and working. So I had a late start
working outside. I measured the metal racking that I took out of the house shed
and it was going to fit in the outside shed, but stupid me forgot to measure
the door opening and racking was two inches too high to fit through the door. I
took off the top shelves and with a little twisting and turning we got it in. I
cleaned the rest of what was in the house shed and put it in the outside shed.
Now I am ready to complete the electrical and the rest of the wall covering. I
hadn’t planned on doing the rest of the wall but the first part looked so good
that I just need to get the rest of it done. It does mean I have to make
another trip to Lowe’s for materials. Later this afternoon Cheri and I put up
the drapery rod so she can hang her quilt on the wall. This evening we went out
to eat with Mike, Pam, Ron, and Sandy at Dade City. It was raining so hard when
we got to Dade City that we had to wait in the car for about twenty minutes and
the water was really deep running down the street. Then about 40 minutes later
the sun was out with nice fluffy clouds.
After supper we went back to Pam and Mike’s to play Hand, Knee, and
Foot. The game was really close until the last hand and that when Pam and Cheri
didn’t show Mike and me any mercy. It was another wonderful day in the
neighborhood, even if it was Friday the 13th.

Gay Sept-12-13

After
Cheri left for her pool exercise I went out and worked in the house shed. I
spent the morning moving my work bench from the stand alone shed to the house
shed. It turned out to be a bigger job than I thought it would be. The water softener
guy came at 11:00 am to check it out and make sure it was working correctly.
The guy that owned the house before us had them come every year to do the check
up. I watched what he did and it was not worth the $125.00. I am not sure how
much a new one is but it should last 10 years. So after 10 years you would have
spent $1,250.00 and I wouldn’t think a new one would cost that much, so why pay
for it twice. I power washed an old metal shelving unit that was in the house
shed and now it is going into the stand alone shed. Now everyone should be
confused on the sheds, I will move on. Today was Norm and Marlene’s 55 wedding
anniversary. They picked us up along with Mike and Mary and we went to Lakeland
to eat at Fred’s which is Norm’s favorite place to eat. We actual made the trip
without stopping at Harbor Freight and Joann Fabrics. Cheri has been reading a
series of quilt novel books and she is really enjoying them. Early this evening
I was checking the Flyer and there was a work bench advertised for $45.00 so
Cheri and I went to check it out, turned out to be a wasted trip as I wouldn’t
have taken it if he gave it to me. Of course if you never check things like
that you could miss a great deal.

Gay Sept-11-13

I
spent part of the morning working on the computer trying to get some of my VA
things set up and changing banks. Some things didn’t go as they should have so I
left them for now. Cheri worked on one of her quilts that she wants to hang in
the living room. She made a sleeve so she can put a rod through it; she also
did the same to another quilt that she plans on hanging in the main bathroom. I
went back to work in the house shed and got the corner I am working on all painted
and the electrical done so now it is ready for me move the work bench in. It
was 4:00 pm when I got done. I needed to start the sprinkler on Bud’s lawn, so
while that was running Cheri and headed for Lowe’s to see what we could find to
hang the quilt from we looked at several things and decided that a drapery rod
would be the best. Cheri didn’t find one that she really liked so we went to
Home Depot to check out what they had. They had even less than Lowe’s, so we
headed back to Lowe’s and Cheri settled for one there. Then we went back to
Baker Acers to turn off the water then home. It was near 7:00 pm when we
arrived home for a late supper.

Gay Sept-10-13

As
of today we have owned our house for two months, can’t believe it has been that
long already, although we have done several things to make it our home. Cheri
spent most of the day cleaning. I worked in the house shed today. I have
cleaned out one corner and run wire for some electric outlets. When I came in
for lunch Cheri had made some hot German potato salad to go along with the rest
of the steak I grilled last night. A couple of days ago I was thinking that it
had been over a year since Cheri last made any. I didn’t say anything to Cheri
but I guess she read my mine (scary, not much left to read). This afternoon we
made a trip to Lowe’s to pick up some peg board and plywood for the shed, then
a stop at Wal-Mart for groceries and gas. I went back to work on the shed and
got the peg board and ply wood up and ready to paint. Then I can move my work
bench from the other shed into the house shed where I will have more room to
work. This evening we went over to Baker Acers to start the sprinkler on Bud’s
lawn and then up to Norm and Marlene’s to visit. A while later Mike and Mary
showed up. After our visit I shut the water off at Bud’s and then we went to DQ
to have a butter finger blizzard. God blessed us with another wonderful day.

While
Cheri was at the pool this morning I worked on laying brick pavers out in front
of the shed. When we had the shed at Baker Acers I had the pavers around the
outside of the shed and I didn’t need to do that here so I used them in front
by the door as we don’t have any concrete there. I only have about a quarter of
the number I need, will have to get more later, at least I have it started.
After I showered, Cheri and I work on putting the cover on the new dining room
cornice. It was much harder to do than the kitchen one was because this on as
some lines of color that needs to be just right. But it was worth it as it
looks very nice and Cheri is happy so that makes me happy. Cheri had a 1:00 pm
appointment to take her latest quilt project to the quilter to be quilted. The
quilter she has used for all her quilting has taken a year off as she has a new
baby. So long story short she is happy with the new quilter and how she is
going to quilt Cheri’s project. When we got home I dropped Cheri off and then
headed to the bank to make a deposit and then over to Baker Acers to mow Buds
lawn and start the sprinkler. Then I picked up Grandma’s mail and took it up to
her and visited for a bit. When I got home I fixed Cheri and me a drink and was
ready to sit and relax. Later it was time to head back to Bud’s and turn the
water off. When I got back home I started the grill to do some brats and couple
of steaks. So it was another wonderful day in the neighborhood that God gave
us.

We
picked up Grandma and took her to church with us. Pastor Dean’s message was all
about the local church and what we should do to help. At our age I am not sure
what it is we can do but I am sure we will find something that we can do to
help. After church it was just the three of us to go out for lunch. I had a
hankering for pizza, so we headed to Pizza Hut. I am not sure what the problem was
but Cheri and I both said the pizza wasn’t nearly as good as it should have
been. After we dropped Grandma off we see Norm and Marlene sitting outside so
we stopped to visit for a while. When we got home Cheri worked all afternoon on
the covering for the cornice. I did put up the brackets but the rest of the
afternoon was watching football. The Packers did play pretty good but not good
enough to win. Cheri got the cover made for the cornice and tomorrow we will
put it all together and get hung up. We watched a couple of old movies this
evening and called it a day.

This
morning I watched the rest of the NASCAR race that I had recorded, couldn’t
stay awake to watch it last night. We left the house at 10:15 am to pick up Pam
and Mike and take them over to Ron and Sandy’s. The four of them are going on a
cruise and Mike didn’t want to leave their car outside at Ron and Sandy’s for a
week. Cheri and I got the tour of Ron and Sandy’s house as we hadn’t seen it
since they got all the remodeling done, sure does look nice, they have put a
lot of work into it. On the way home we stopped by Mike and Mary’s for a visit
and to see about getting Mike’s nail gun, I plan on building the cornice for
the dining room window. First I went with Mike over to Baker Acers to help Mike
get the washing machine that they had stored at Mike’s parents place. When I got
home I worked on the cornice and when I took it into the house to see how it
fit, I found out that it didn’t stand far enough out from the wall so the
vertical blinds could open all the way. I felt pretty stupid for not taking
that into consideration. So I headed off to Lowe’s to get what I needed to add
to the cornice so it would clear the blind. When I got done Cheri got busy
painting the cornice and putting together the covering for it. This evening I
watched the NASCAR race, felt bad that Jeff Gordon didn’t make the chase.

While
Cheri was at her pool exercise I worked on getting the shed ready to paint. I
got all the masking done was ready to start painting when Cheri got home. She
went right to work on painting and I went in and showered and got ready to take
Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. Grandma got a really good doctor’s report
and no longer has to take one of her medications. When I got home Cheri was
over half done with the shed painting. I changed my clothes helped her finish. When
we got done Cheri went in house and I cleaned things up and got stuff put away.
The shed looks really nice and it is a close paint match to the house. It was
after 1:30 pm before it was all done. It made for a very late lunch. After
lunch I worked on advertising the motorcycle lift and bike barn. I advertised
in a couple of new places, sure would be nice to have them sold along with the
truck and fifth wheel. Later I got the VCR/DVR player hooked up to the TV in
the bedroom. Mike and Pam gave us the movie Rat Race to watch. It is an old
movie that was on a VHS. I had wanted to get it hooked up so it gave me a good
reason to get it done. Then Cheri and I watched the movie, sure was a crazy
movie. That pretty much took care of the day and we feel good about what we got
done.

It
was back to a more normal day. Cheri went for her pool exercise and I went
right to work on washing the shed and getting it ready to paint. I was going to
paint it this afternoon but Cheri said there was a 60 percent chance for rain
so we decided to wait. Of course you might know it never did rain. I also
cleaned out the rest of the flower bed in front of the house. Then I got the
pressure washer out and power washed the all the bricks on the front of the
house, looks much better. Sometime in the future we want to put white stones in
the flower bed and then plant everything in pots. Cheri clean and vacuumed the
house, plus a couple of loads of laundry. She also spent some time in the
sewing room, not sure what she was working on. Later this afternoon we made a
trip to Lowe’s to get the materials I needed to build the cornice for the
living room window. After that it was time to rest for a while before we met
Mike and Pam for supper at Mainly New England. It has been over two years since
we were last there. We had stopped going as it was getting dirty and the food
wasn’t very good. But today we could see everything was clean and shiny plus
the food was excellent, it will be back on our list of places to go and eat.
After supper we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a visit. It was another great
day that God blessed us with.

Gay Sept-4-13

We
took the day off and went shopping or I should say Cheri shopped and I was her chauffeur.
I got a call yesterday that I had a lab appointment at the VA for this morning.
I was there a few days ago to check on it and they changed the date and
canceled the one for today. Just to make sure I went over at 7:30 am to find
out and it was canceled but nothing was done about the automated phone call. A
while back I bought a couple of croupons for an hour of full body massage, so
today was the day to have them. We left at 8:45 am and headed to Newport Richey
for the massages. I got the time mixed up and we were 45 minutes early but they
were nice enough to get us in right away. It has been years since we have had a
message and it felt really good. From there we went to Hobby Lobby has Cheri
wanted to check out the material department, she didn’t find anything there so
we headed for Rainbow Ends quilt shop. On the way we stopped at Subway for
lunch. Cheri did find some material at the quilt shop she is going to use for
the dining room window. I think I will have to build another cornice for the
window. It was a long drive and it was after 4:30 pm before we got home. We
were done for the day and took it easy this evening.

When
Cheri got home from her exercise class I went over to Baker Acers and started
the sprinkler on Bud’s lawn and then went and picked up Grandma to take her for
her B-12 shot. After I got Grandma home, I stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a
short visit while the sprinkler was running on Bud’s lawn. Then it was time to
turn off the water and head back home. Cheri was getting the back for her wall
hanging ready to take to the quilter. After lunch Cheri called her quilter and
found out that she has a new baby and is taking a year off from quilting. Now
Cheri has to find a new quilter. I spent part of the afternoon taking down old curtain
hooks, picture hooks and them patching all the holes. Then we spent the rest of
the afternoon doing what we did yesterday, nothing. At 5:00 pm we went down to
the Club house for their Tuesday Twofers. They serve hot dogs and hamburgers
for a small price. Then back to the Club house at 7:00 pm for the HOA meeting. The
meeting went well until it came to the part on rent. It got a little heated
over the discussion of rent. It was after 8:00 pm before we got home. We
watched a movie and all it a night.

Gay Sept-2-13
Labor
day, I think it should be called Laborless day because most of the people don’t
do any work on this day, I for one did almost nothing. Cheri did her pool
exercise and went to the grocery store to get grapes to make a salad for the
noon pot luck here in the park. I did try one more thing with the power washer.
It is some better but still leaks; at least I can use it now. After the pot
luck we stopped by Mike and Mary’s for a visit and to watch the sky divers.
Then we headed home and had a nice long afternoon nap. This evening we watched
a couple of movies and called it a day. I hope everyone had a relaxing day like
we did.

Gay Sept-1-13

We
picked up Grandma and headed to church. It was an excellent service. All the children
did the music today, what a joy it was to see and listen to them sing and act.
They put a lot of work into what they did. The adults that worked with them did
a great job teaching them. Pastor Dean had a great message on the local church.
After church nine of us went to eat lunch at Los Vallarta Mexican. Cheri and I had
a terrible meal, the last time we were there it wasn’t very good and said we
wouldn’t go there again but that was the place that one of the group picked and
thought that maybe we just got a bad meal the first time. After lunch I made a
stop at the hardware store to get a spring that I thought I could fix the power
washer with. So when we got home I went to work on it .I was pretty disappointed
as when I got done it still leaked. We invited Ron and Sandy to come over at
3:00 pm to see the house and had a nice visit with them; it is the first time
they have been here. We still have several things to do with the house but we
think it looks good enough to start showing our friends. We watched a George Clooney
movie that I taped. I had said I would never go see another George Clooney
movie and this one wasn’t that good either. This evening Cheri read while I
watched the NASCAR race, well part of it anyway as I turned it off before it
was over and headed to bed. I recorded it and will watch the rest of it
tomorrow.

I
was up at 3:00 am not able to sleep so I sat down to do some reading and do the
blog. At 4:30 am Cheri came out and said that she couldn’t sleep either. It is
going to make for a long day. We were showed and all dressed by 7:00 am and no
place to go. So I asked Cheri if she wanted to go to Golden Corral for breakfast,
which brought a smile to her face and off we went. After breakfast we went to
Save A Lot to get some groceries for the food pantry at church. Then we made a
stop to pick up stamps for Grandma. We got back home a little after 9:00 am. At
10:00 am we picked up Mike and Mary and went over to the consignment place
where we have our truck and 5th wheel. They want to see about
putting their motor home on consignment. I also needed to talk to the guy to
find out why there are no pictures of our 5th wheel on their web
site. When we got home Cheri and I sat down and read for a while. I finished
reading the book Killing Lincoln and it was an excellent read. This afternoon
Cheri worked on her quilt and I worked outside in the shed and on the power
washer as it is leaking and I figured out that I have lost a 50 cent spring
that seals it from leaking. I went to Lowe’s to see if I could find one and no
luck. I think it going to cost me near $30.00 to get the 50 cent spring. This
evening we watched a movie on our new DVD player. I also got it set up to
stream movies off the internet. It took me a while to figure it all out but I finally
got it all set up.
