It
was another hot day as it was already 71 degrees at 6:00 am. I worked outside
in the sheds and I think I am beginning to see the light at the end of the
tunnel. Cheri worked on her quilt project. I quit working at 11:30 am and got
cleaned up, had an early lunch as I had to take Grandma for her eye appointment
which took a lot longer then I thought it would. I dropped Grandma off at home
and headed over to Wal-Mart to get a prescription of eye drops filled for her.
They told me it would be ready in 30 minutes, so I looked around while I
waited. When I went back to pick it up they told me it was out of stock and
wouldn’t be ready until late tomorrow afternoon. I also made a quick stop at
Lowe’s to pick up some electrical supplies; I need to add a couple of outlets
to the shed for the water softener and a place to charge the batteries for my
drills. It was after 4:00 pm by the time I got home. Cheri had finished her
latest quilt project, a table topper for summer. We had a couple of thunder
storms come though late this afternoon and evening, it rained really hard but
didn’t last long. I check the rain gauge and we got ½ inch of rain.

Cheri
was off to the pool on this beautiful morning and I headed to the sun room to
do my exercise. Cheri is in a good routine with her pool exercise and I am
starting to get into a routine myself. This forenoon Cheri worked in the sewing
room and her quilt project is coming along nicely. I worked outside in the
sheds and pretty much got things changed around and now have to do a lot of
sorting. I quit at noon as it was getting to hot to work outside, I think it is
time to add an air conditioner to the want list to put in the shed. After lunch
we went over to Grandma’s to let her know her doctor appointment for today was
changed to tomorrow. Then we went and got our hair cuts along with a stop on
the way home at Winn Dixie’s for some milk and cereal. We also stopped to get
some gas for our generator; I had started it this forenoon and wasn’t running
very well so thought that some new gas would help. I dropped Cheri off at home
and I took my waste oil to the repair shop. When I got home Cheri was back in
the sewing room so I sat down and did some reading before I took an afternoon
nap. This evening we watched Dancing with the Stars and Cheri again was happy
with the results. The high temp for the
day was up in the high 80’s, I think we are now headed for the summer heat.

Today
was pretty much like all of our Sundays. We took Grandma to church with us and
Pastor Dean had a very interesting message. After Church seven of our Life
Group went out for lunch at the Hibachi Japanese in Wesley Chapel. We had to
wait a while for our lunch as some of their help didn’t show up for work. So we
got to have a nice long visit. After we dropped Grandma off we saw Ed and
Lorraine sitting outside so we stopped to visit with them. When we were in
Baker Acers we would see them almost every evening when we walked, but now not
very often. On the way home we decide to get haircuts but there was a forty
minute wait so we decided to go on home and get our haircuts another day. The
rest of the day was spent relaxing, napping and watching TV. We had our usual
Sunday evening pizza for supper. It was another beautiful day with a high temp
in the mid 80’s.

It
was a pretty quiet day around the Sharp house today. Cheri started the day
fixing me a big breakfast and then we sat around drinking coffee. We didn’t
have any place we had to be, nice to just relax for a while. We got a call from
Larry and Denise checking in and telling us about their trip home. They said
that they got snow last night and to be below freezing tonight. We told them
that they went home too early. Larry said that they had to move snow to park
the motor home. Cheri spent most of the day in the sewing room and I went out
to figure out my shelving problem. I ended up going to Lowe’s to get some
shelve brackets. Cheri came out to see if I wanted anything for lunch and I
said I was still full from breakfast. It was pretty hot working in the shed
today and had to find my fan and get that set up to have a nice breeze to work
in. I did make some progress but my heart wasn’t really into working today. So
at 3:00 pm I quit for the day and Cheri quit also, we sat in our recliners and
took a nap for about an hour and half. This evening I watched the NASCAR race
and Cheri went back to the sewing room. It was nice sunny day with a high temp
of 85 degrees.

At
10:00 am Cheri and I took the motorcycle and rode to Leesburg for the Bike
Fest. This was the 18th year for it and the first time we have went.
It is supposed to be a lot like Bike Week in Daytona. There were a lot of
vendors but mostly clothes and sun glasses. It was spread over nine blocks and
about three blocks wide with vendor booths in every crack and cranny. It is
held right down town and the streets are closed off to vehicle traffic, only
motorcycles are allowed. We did find a place to park on the street but were a
lot of places charging 5 dollars to park. Before we went I had looked on line
and found that there was a quilt shop in the area of the Bike Fest, so Cheri was
looking forward to visiting the shop. Well long story short it had gone out of business
a couple of years ago. I felt bad because that was the main reason she went
with me. It was still fun looking at what the vendors had for sale. We found a
little restaurant on Main Street where we got a really good pulled pork
sandwich. It was around 3:30 pm when we got home, it was a nice 120 mile ride
and a beautiful day. We were tired from the ride and sat down in the recliners
to watch some TV but I think we did more napping than watching. It was a wonderful
day that God made for us.

It
was a good day in the neighborhood. Cheri and I both got a lot done today.
Cheri got the laundry done and made a lot of progress on her latest quilt
project. I worked outside on the sheds, cleaning and sorting trying to get things
arranged so I can find what I am looking for. It is going to take me a few more
days to get it all done. I also need to build some more shelves in the shed.
Late this afternoon I went back to Ron and Sandy’s to find out what the problem
was with the outlets that didn’t work. I used my wire signal tracer and did
find the problem which only took a few minutes to fix. I was back home by 4:00
pm and decided I had done enough for the day. After supper we went over to visit
with Mike and Mary. It has been over a week since we lasted visited. Mike T
from next door had stopped by to give me some tools to help me trim and weed their
flower garden and trees while they are gone for the summer. They also gave us
some of their left over’s as they are leaving Saturday morning. It was a very
nice warm day with a lot of sunshine.

The
morning started with coffee and breakfast and then our exercising. I went to
fuel up the bike and a stop at the bank to get some information I wasn’t able
to get on line. Cheri worked on paper work for Grandma. She went to Wal-Mart to
pick up Grandma’s medicine and her place to have her sign papers. Cheri also
went o Beall’s to spend the extra money she had in coupons that she got from
Denise. She bought me a new shirt that didn’t fit right and now will have to
take it back and she is afraid that she will lose her discount. Mike, Norm, and
I went for a motorcycle ride today leaving at 10:00 am. It was going to be Mike’s
last ride so I told him he could lead the ride. He done a great job and even
got me on a road that I hadn’t been on before. We stopped at the 75 Chrome shop
and I showed Mike and Norm the chrome caps that would work to put on the motorcycle,
they both bought some. Mike and I also bought a t-shirt. We stopped at McDonald’s
for lunch and then headed home. We put on 135 miles and got home around 3:30
pm, it was a beautiful day for a ride. This evening we met Ron and Sandy at
Subway for supper and then went to church for Grow 101. It is a new series
designed to help Christians glorify Jesus Christ and equip them to disciple
others. It was very interesting and looking forward to next week. It was 9:00
pm when we got home, watched a little TV and called it a night.

Cheri
headed for the pool for her exercise class and I did my work out here at home.
I have gotten back to a morning workout and I am already feeling better, now
all I have to do is stop eating sooooo much, need to lose 15 pounds. At 10:00
am we went over to say goodbye to Larry and Denise, they left at 11:00 am this
morning and got an hour north of Atlanta today. After we left Larry and Denise’s
we went up to Mike and Pam’s to drop of the Sunday church message for Pam. We
met them about a block from their house; they were on their way to Orlando to
check into their timeshare. They turned around and we visited with them until
noon. We headed home for a quick lunch and then to the doctor’s office to get
Grandma’s prescription and was still closed. There was a note on the door to go
to a different office for information and so we found that place and were told
that we needed to go to Grandma’s primary doctor to get it filled. So that was
our next stop and they said that they would call in the prescription to Wal-Mart.
Then we headed over to Wal-Mart to get groceries and pick up medicine that was
called in yesterday for her. After all was said and done it was almost 3:00 pm
before we got home. Cheri worked on paper work for Grandma and I was getting
information that she needed for the paper work. Cheri did get to spend a little
time in her sewing room and I went out to the shed to find my wire signal
tracer. I am going to go back to Ron and Sandy’s one day this week and see if I
can find the missing wire for the outlets that aren’t working.

It
was another cloudy day and the high temp was 69 degrees. Cheri headed out for
her pool exercise. I paid some bills and did some computer work. I wasn’t in
any hurry this morning as I had to take Grandma for her 11:00 am B-12 shot. It
only takes five minutes and we had to wait until 11:45 am. We also stopped at
the bank and at another doctor’s office to get a prescription renewed but they were
closed; I will have to go back tomorrow. It was 12:45 pm when I got home and I
had a 1:00 pm appointment to work at Ron and Sandy’s to fix a couple of outlets
that weren’t working after the electrician did the wiring for their new garage.
I check out what I thought might be wrong and didn’t find the problem. I need
to spend some time thinking about what it might be and then go back again. On
the way home I filled up the van with gas and used our rewards of 35 cents a
gallon from Winn Dixie, every little bit helps. I also stopped by CVS to fill a
prescription for Grandma but can’t get it filled until May 15th. So
as you can see I wasn’t having very good luck today. Cheri was working on her
latest quilt project when I got home. She had been working in the kitchen
cooking spare ribs for supper. We had invited Larry and Denise over for supper
as it is their last night in Florida, they are leaving for Ontario tomorrow
morning. We played a couple of games of Pinochle which Larry and I won.

First
I want to wish everyone a happy Easter. We picked up Grandma and took her to
church with us. Pastor Dean out did himself once again as the service and
message was wonderful. After church five of us went out for lunch at Olive
Garden, great food and a very bad waitress, either she was new or didn’t care
about her work, I would like to think she was new at the job and if that was so
she needed to be with someone that knew what was going on. After we dropped
Grandma off we headed home to rest for a bit before going over to Larry and
Denise’s. They had invited us over for cards and supper. We played a game of
Hand, Knee, and Foot that Denise and Cheri won. Then it was time for Larry to
get the grill started to grill up some pork chops. Larry and Denise prepared a
wonderful supper. After supper we played one more game of cards and then it was
time to call it a night.

I
had a motorcycle ride planned for today and when I looked outside I see some
very light rain falling. So now I think the ride might not happen, and then a
little later the sun is shining. So I get the bike out to go and fill it up
with gas and on the way to the gas station it started to mist again. Long story short five of us (Larry, Mike,
Ross, Frank, and me) left at 10:30 am and headed to Sleepy Hollow for the steak
dinner they have every Saturday. We had a mist in the air off and on all the
way up there. Not many people there, probably because of the weather. Cheri and
Denise went to see how Pam was doing and to drop off a basket of goodies for
Pam. Then they were off shopping. We got home around 3:00 pm and it is the last
group ride for the season as they are all leaving next week for the summer. I
called Cheri to see where they were and she said that they were checking out at
Beall’s and would be home shortly. We played cards and Cheri fixed a pizza for
supper. We played one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Cheri and Denise won by
a huge margin. Then we played two games of Pinochle, Larry and I won the first
game and Cheri and Denise destroyed us the other game.

I
had another good night’s sleep and didn’t roll out until 6:45 am. It was cloudy
and rainy most of the day. Cheri and I went to Winn Dixie’s grocery shopping and
got home just as it started to sprinkle. Ross, one of the guys that rides
motorcycle with us stopped by for a short visit telling us that they are
leaving Monday. He also wanted to see how our laundry closet came out. Cheri
and I went to see the movie Heaven is for Real. It must have been the first day
for the movie has the theater was full; Cheri and I couldn’t sit together. It
was an excellent movie and it should be on your list of movies to see. It is
one I would go and see again. After the movie we had planned on going to see
Mike and Pam to drop off a gift box but had a voice mail from Mike saying Pam
wasn’t feeling well and that tomorrow would be better. Cheri also had a voice
mail from Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go out for a fish fry. Cheri
called Denise and made plans for us to pick them up and go out for fish. We
were going to go to Mainely New England but the line was long so we went on to
the Chowder House and the line was even longer there. We ended up at the
Village Inn as we didn’t have a lot of time before church. That turned out to
be a mistake because the fish fry was terrible. From there we went over to pick
up Grandma and the five of us headed to church for the Good Friday service. It
was an excellent service. It was near 9:00 pm when we finally got home.

I
tried to stay in bed longer this morning because I didn’t sleep very well, but
was still up by 6:15 am. Cheri and Mary didn’t have any pool exercise this
morning as Mary had to take their dog to the vet. Cheri worked on her quilt
project and finished it today. So now she is looking at what she wants to do
next. I rested all forenoon as I was tired and didn’t feeling like doing
anything. I did do a workout on the stationary bike that was here when we
bought the house. I started yesterday and want to see if I can get a routine
going again as I haven’t done any exercising since we bought the house. After
lunch I thought I should do something so I went out to the shed and made the squirrel
guard to fit under the bird feeder, hope that solves the squirrel problem, they
are pretty smart at figuring out a way to get to the bird seed. I also worked
on putting some more tools in the new tool chest. I think I will run out of
room before I get all the tools in it. Larry and Denise stopped by around 5:30
pm and had just come from Pizza Hut for supper. We visited while we had a sandwich
and then got the cards out to play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry
and I won and then Cheri and Denise bet us at a game of Pinochle.

It
was a cool breezy morning, wasn’t sure if Cheri was going to go to the pool or
not, but she did go. When she got home I headed to the Tampa VA hospital to
have an x-ray done on my foot. I have a very large bunion on my foot and it
bothers me to walk, probably will have to have it operated on. I now have to
wait for a doctor’s appointment. It was noon when I got back home. We had lunch
and then took the left over stuff from our yard sale to Good Will and then a
stop at Lowe’s to return some stuff I didn’t need when I was building the
laundry closet. We got a call from Denise while we were in Lowe’s telling us to
go outside and see the sun dogs (a large ring around the sun), It has been
years since I have seen them. Then we went and bought a half a flat of
strawberries. When we got home Cheri cleaned the strawberries and made baking powder
biscuits for strawberry short cake. I was feeling a little under the weather so
I took a nap. Around 3:00 pm we got a
call from Larry and Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go to Applebee’s for
supper, never pass up a chance to go there as I really like what they have on
the menu. After we eat we stopped at Sam’s to pick up a few things and then a
quick stop at Harbor Freight to pick up our free stuff. When we got home we had
strawberry short cake with Larry and Denise, then we played one game of pinochle
which Larry and I won, it has been a dry spell for Larry and I. Larry did get
their refrigerator working. He e-mailed the guy where he bought the new cooling
coil and he e-mail back right away with the information Larry needed to get it
working.

It
was another busy morning as I had an 8:00 am doctor’s appointment for my yearly
physical. I took the motorcycle so Cheri would have the van to go to the pool.
I got a good report and plan on being around for another year. When I got home
Cheri had got her house cleaning done and was ready to go over to Larry and Denise’s
so I could help Larry with the refrigerator. As soon as we got there Denise and
Cheri headed to Lakeland to shop and see about Denise’s sewing machine. Larry
and I got the refrigerator back in place and was doing the wiring on the
outside when it started to rain and boy did it ever rain, came down in buckets.
After the rain Larry went back out to check the wiring and made some changes
but the refrigerator did want to work. Larry has some wiring that needs to be
changed but doesn’t have a wiring diagram. About that time Cheri and Denise got
back, Denise had traded in her old sewing machine for a new one. I couldn’t
help Larry anymore so we came home. I worked on putting some of my tools in the
new tool chest while Cheri worked on her quilt project. At 4:00 pm we quit for
the day and watched a couple of shows before supper. We had leftovers for
supper and still every good. I just
checked the rain gage and we got ¾ inch, the way it came down I thought we
might have gotten more.

It
was a busy day. I took Grandma for her 9:00 am heart doctor’s appointment. I
dropped Cheri off at the pool for her exercise class. She was going to have to
walk home as I had the van to take Grandma to the doctor. It was near 11:00 am
when I got home. Cheri was getting some chicken ready for me to do on the grill
for supper, plus she was making Chocolate chip cookies. I headed over to Larry
and Denise’s to help Larry with their refrigerator in their RV. It had quit
working and he got a new coil and condensing unit for it. We also put in a new
floor where it sits has there had been some water damage in the pass. I made a
trip to Lowe’s for them as they had to wait for the coil and condenser to be
delivered. I stopped back at home to cut the lumber for the floor. Cheri rode
back with me and as soon as we got there Cheri and Denise left and went
shopping. We worked on it until 6:30 pm; we will finish the refrigerator
tomorrow. Cheri and I went home to cook the chicken with baked potatoes and
fried bread. Larry and Denise came around 7:15 pm. After we eat we played one
game of Pinochle which Cheri and Denise won. After Larry and Denise left we sat
down to watch Dancing with the Stars or I should say Cheri did as I slept
through most of it. Cheri was very happy with who got voted off.

I
got up this morning not feeling the greatest, was lightheaded. We did go to
church, Grandma also went with us. We didn’t go out for lunch today as I just
wasn’t feeling like it. On the way home we stopped by Red Box and dropped of
the movie we got yesterday and picked up Gravity. We watched it this afternoon.
We didn’t think it was a very good movie; in fact I would give it a four out of
ten. We watched some other shows we had recorded. Around 4:00 pm we got a call
from Larry and Denise wanting us to come over for supper and cards. I was
feeling better so we went. Larry did hamburgers and potatoes on the grill and
Denise was getting the corn on the cob ready. After supper we played one game
of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Cheri and Denise destroyed Larry and me. I guess we
had it coming because it has been a while since they have won. Denise served us
cheese cake for dessert while we visited. We were home by 8:00 pm and watched a
little TV before calling it a night. I am looking forward to feeling better
tomorrow.

Cheri
and I had a very relaxing morning with our coffee. Cheri fixed me a breakfast
fit for a king. She fixed eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast with cherry preserves.
It was near 11:00 am before we were ready to face the world. Our local grocery store
that is just up the road from us change from Sweet Bay to Winn Dixie and Friday
was the first day it was open. So we went and got groceries there this morning.
We like Winn Dixie but always had to drive across town to shop there. So it is
nice to have one close by. When we got home Cheri put the groceries away and
headed to the sewing room. I got the chalking gun out and chalked the opening
around where the plumbing and electric lines came throw the floor for the
washer and dyer. I made one last trip under the house to do some of the
chalking, glad to have that project completed. While we were at the grocery
store Cheri checked Red Box and picked up the movie Twelve Years a Slave. We
watched it this afternoon and what a great movie it was. I was going to go to
Lowe’s later this afternoon to take back a few things I bought and didn’t need,
but got lazy and didn’t get it done. I watched the NASCAR race this evening and
Cheri worked on her quilt project.

Cheri
and Mary were back doing their pool exercise this morning. I worked on taking
my two power washers that each had a problem and making one good one. So I set
the old one out for trash pickup today. Larry and Denise came over early as
Larry had a project that he wanted to build to put their RV refrigerator on
when he takes it out to replace the old cooling coil. The first thing we did
was to unload and unpack the new rolling tool chest I bought last night. After
we got it put together we worked on building Larry’s project. Then Larry helped
me clean up all the sawdust from my laundry closest project. After lunch we delivered the washing machine
back to Mike and Mary’s. It was so nice of them to let us use it until we got
our new one ready to use. Denise called to check on her sewing machine that she
has in for repair and they can’t find it and was going to call her back. Well
they never called so we all got in the truck and headed to Lakeland to see what
happened to the sewing machine. Long story short the machine is still at the
repair shop and supposed to be waiting on a part for it. We stopped at Wendy’s
for ice cream and also a stop at Harbor Freight for our free items, we got a
flashlight and screwdriver set. We were ready to go home when Larry and Denise
decided they wanted to go to Kissimmee where they bought their sewing machine at
Jo-Ann Fabric to see about doing a trade in for a new one. Well their sale
price was $100 more than the regular price at the shop where they took theirs
to be fixed. After all of that we were ready to head back to Zephyrhills to
have supper at Pizza Hut. It was near 8:00 pm when we got home. Cheri settled
in for the evening and I had security tonight with Mike. We called it a night
at 10:30 pm as everything was quite in the park.

No
pool exercise class this morning. The pool leak is fixed but the water needed
to be filtered to clear it up. Cheri did laundry this morning and I took
Grandma for her doctor’s appointment at 10:10 am, took about an hour to see the
doctor, Grandma got a good report and doesn’t have to go back for three months,
she is happy about that. When I got home I went to work on installing the
shelves in the laundry closet. I got done with that around 1:30 pm. Cheri was
working on her quilt project and figured out how she was going to do the
binding. It was such a nice day I decided to take the motorcycle and ride to
Tampa to have my new glasses I got back in December adjusted so I could wear
them. I had been putting off getting them adjusted as I wanted to take the
bike. Well when I went to get the glasses I couldn’t find them. Cheri and I
looked for about an hour and I finally did find them in the motorcycle. Cheri
gave me that look like I should have known. I didn’t remember putting them
there. I had a nice ride down to Tampa and on the way back I stopped at Sears
to check out a rolling tool box that was on sale. Cheri showed me the ad in the
paper this morning. I liked what I saw and I had also looked at one a couple of
weeks ago at Harbor Freight. I stopped by Mike and Mary’s to talk to Mike about
us doing security tomorrow night. Mike showed me the kitchen cabinets he is
building for a customer up the street. He is doing a great job. I was telling
him about the rolling tool box and that I was going to go to Harbor Freight
this evening and wanted to know if he and Mary wanted to ride along. He said I
guess it will also be a stop at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Well we picked up Mike and Mary
at 6:00 pm and were on the way out of the park when we met Larry and Denise
coming to see us. So they parked their truck and rode to Lakeland with us. We
dropped the girls off at Jo-Ann’s and we guys went to Harbor Freight. After
checking out the rolling tool box I decided this was the one I wanted. I was
going to wait another couple of weeks but the sale price was for only four more
days. I didn’t think there was enough room in the van to bring it home with us
as there were already six of us. Larry said it would fit so I bought it and we
did get it in the van but Larry and Denise didn’t have very much room to sit.
When we got home we play a couple games of Pinochle with Larry and Denise, we
each won a game so it was a good night.

Cheri
went for her pool exercise class this morning and was told the pool has leak
and that they will be working on finding the leak and wasn’t sure if it would
be repaired and ready to use tomorrow. I
went out to the shed and worked on the shelves. I got them all sanded and I
must say they came out a lot better than I thought they would. I brought them
in so Cheri could paint them. So hopefully I can get them installed tomorrow.
Cheri worked on her quilt project and isn’t happy with the binding and is now
trying to figure out what she wants to do. Cheri wanted to go to Red Lobster for
their Lobster Fest which we have a 10 dollar off coupon. We e-mailed Larry and
Denise to see if they wanted to go. They answered back that wanted to go and
wanted to go early to look at refrigerators. They are thinking about putting in
a house refrigerator instead of fixing their RV refrigerator. We made a stop at
Best Buy to check and Larry had the measurements of what size would fit, none
of the ones on the floor would fit the opening. The sales person was doing some
looking on the computer to see if they could find one that would fit. While they
were doing that Cheri and I looked at microwave ovens that would go above the
stove. They were priced from $350 to $700. Sometime in the future we want to do
a kitchen make over. We made one more stop at Home Depot to check on refrigerators,
no luck there so we headed to Red Lobster for the Lobster Fest. It was very
good but also very expensive but we got our lobster fix and won’t have to do
that again for a while. When we dropped off Larry and Denise, Larry wanted to
play a game of cards but we knew Denise was tired from the company they had so
we headed home and settled in for an evening of TV.

Cheri
headed out for the pool this morning and was back right away as it stated to
rain. I was slow getting around this morning, did some computer work before
showering and getting dressed. We were going to go the flea market this morning
but the rain took care of that. Cheri did house work and then disappeared in
the sewing room. I went to the shed to work on the shelves. I used some
automotive body filler on one shelve and that worked pretty good but took a
long time for the sanding because I used more body filler then I needed to. Then
I got the wood putty out and tried it. It seem to work better so after lunch I
finished with the wood putty and now it going to take a couple of hours for
them to dry. I got a call from Larry wanting to know if we had room in our freezer
because their refrigerator quit working. So he came over with what they needed
to be put in the freezer. He couldn’t stay long as they have company. I sat
down in the recliner to rest while the wood putty dried. Well I stared to watch
TV and Cheri came out and joined me. It wasn’t long and we were both napping.
Needless to say I never got back to my shelve project.

Cheri
and Mary did their pool exercises this morning it has been a while since they
have done them as there has been some cold mornings and Mary had a cold all
last week. We left at 9:30 am to go and see Cheri’s girl friend Pat and her husband
Roger. They were friends before Cheri and I got married. They spend the winter
down in Parish, a little over an hour away. That wasn’t case today as it took
us almost two hours to get there. We got caught at two railroad crossings and
two different road construction delays. Plus I think every stop and go light
was red. We had a good time with Pat and Roger. We went out for lunch at Peaches,
very good food and quite so we could visit while eating. When we got back to
Pat and Roger’s, Roger was telling me about a signal problem with his TV. I
checked out the connections and found a way to get a stronger signal to the TV.
So now he has a picture without snow. Then we played a game of Hand, Knee, and
Foot. We had taught Pat and Roger a couple of years ago and they hadn’t played
it since so they had to learn all over again. Pat and Cheri beat Roger and me
by over 18,000 points, not a good day for the guys. When we got home Cheri
fixed us a Ruben sandwich for supper. Then it was time to watch the NASCAR race
that had been canceled yesterday. They said that it was going to be on the Fox
Sports one channel, so I set the recorder to record all the shows so I would
have the race. Will it didn’t record; I think that some time after I set up the
recorder they changed the line up to the NASCAR race. So I watched Dancing with
the Stars with Cheri. I thought I had posted pictures of the laundry closet
competed and new furniture, Roger had told me that I hadn’t, so here they are today.

Grandma
is back to feel better and went to church with us today. Pastor Mel delivered
and excellent message. After church five of out went out for lunch at Firehouse
Subs. It was so nice we decide to eat outside. We had a nice visit with Mike
and Pam and then it was time to head home. When we got home Cheri worked on one
of her quilt projects and I worked on the laundry closet shelves. I am so
disappointed in the way they are turning out. I am about ready to scrap the
whole project and start over. I finally had enough and went back inside and sat
down to watch the NASCAR race that I was recording. The race was in a rain
delay so I kept checking it and finally they canceled the race and will run it
tomorrow. I did get the light put up in the laundry closet. Cheri fixed pizza for supper which is our usual Sunday evening meal. After
supper we settled in for an evening of TV.

We
relaxed a little longer this morning with our coffee, seemed nice. Then it was
time to get some work done. Cheri did some early cleaning and then headed for
the sewing room. When I checked on her, she has started another project. I
asked her why she wasn’t finishing the Christmas project and was told that she
needed a special thread. I work all day on building shelves for the laundry
closet, I made a few mistakes but in the end I got them cut out and put together.
I still have to finish putting the screws in them and then putty holes and
paint. It was near 4:00 pm when I quit for the day. I wanted to go to Dade City
to see the car show. The first thing we did when we got there was to go to the
quilt shop so Cheri could get the thread that she needed. The car show was somewhat
a disappointment as there weren’t that many cars. On the way home we stopped at
Lowe’s and picked up the light for the laundry room, a part to fix the power
washer, and more bird seeds. Cheri fixed us a Ruben sandwich from the corn beef
left over from yesterday. Then it was time to settle in for the evening of TV.

You
should have seen us this morning; we were like kids with a new toy. Cheri said
we are going to do laundry in the new washing machine for the first time. We
stood there and watched it for awhile then we would go and do something else
and then back to check it out again. When the washer is done it plays a little
music and the dryer does the same thing. I took Grandma for her non fasting lab
appointment and had to wait 30 minutes to get in; normally we get in right
away. After I dropped her off at home I stopped by Ed and Loraine’s Ed was
having trouble with the ceiling fan. The remote wasn’t working for the light. I
ended up take the remote module out and now they have to use the wall switch to
turn it on and off. When I got home Denise and Larry were here and wanted us to
ride Lakeland with them. Denise wanted to check and see if her sewing machine
was fixed. Plus the girls wanted stopped at Jo-Ann Fabrics and we guys wanted
to stop at Harbor Freight. I have been thinking about getting a new tool box on
wheels for all my tools and wanted to check out the different size boxes. I did
find one I would like to have; now I have to wait until I get the money to buy
it. When we got home Cheri and I loaded the dresser and night stand that we had
in the bedroom getting it ready to take to Mike and Pam’s daughters. Mike came
at 3:00 pm and we followed him as we didn’t know the way. After we got it
unloaded we headed for home with a stop at Publix’s to get some cabbage and
bread. Cheri had a corn beef cooking in the crock pot for supper. Today Cheri
saw the fist bird to come to our new bird feeder; it was a cardinal, how nice
is that. We were beginning to wonder if any birds were going to find the
feeder.

I
had gotten a call from the VA clinic yesterday to let me know that my
appointment for today was canceled. So first thing this morning I drove over to
get another appointment. At 10:00 am we picked up Larry and Denise and went to IKEA
down in Tampa. I was surprised that there weren’t more cars in the parking lot.
It was really nice walking through looking at things without being pushed
around by people. We were looking for some shelving for the laundry closet. We
did find a couple of things that would work but still not what I really wanted.
We had lunch at the cafeteria in IKEA and I must say it was very good. We also
signed up to be part of the IKEA family, makes us able to get some discounts on
a few things, just another way to get you in the store. We were ready to check
out when Denise waved us over to the discount and damaged room. They had a cart
loaded with all sorts of damaged and missing parts of cabinets, shelving, a
baby crib, plus other things, all for $10.00. Of course I couldn’t pass of a
bargain like that as I know that there is enough to build the shelves for the
closet and many more projects. Well when we got it out to the van we had a hard
time getting everything in the van. Denise had a beef roast going in the crock
pot for supper and invited us. So on the way home I dropped Denise and Cheri
off at their place. Larry and I went to our place to help me unload all the
stuff. We moved the old dryer and washer out of the shed so I would have room for
all my high priced materials. Then we took the old dryer and the struts that I
had change on the van to the salvage yard, got $12.25 for them. When we got
back to Larry and Denise’s we played two games of Hand, Knee, and Foot with a
break for supper in between the games. Larry and I won both games but it wasn’t
really that much fun for the girls as games were really lope sided.

Larry
and I headed out for a motorcycle ride at 10:00 am and Cheri and Denise went
shopping. I did find a couple of roads that Larry and I hadn’t been on before.
We did a couple of things different on this ride, we didn’t stop at a Harley
dealer and we didn’t eat at McDonald’s. We stopped along the way at a Deli and
Bakery called Yalaha Bakery. The sandwich was excellent and we looked at all
the bakery goodies and passed on them, not that we wanted too but knew they weren’t
good for us. Cheri and Denise went low budget and eat at Taco Bell. Larry I got
home around 2:45 pm and rode 129 miles. It was a beautiful day for a ride, lots
of sunshine and a high temp in the low 80’s. Cheri got home around 3:00 pm. We
changed clothes and picked up Larry and Denise to go out for supper at the Japanese
restaurant in Tampa. We went there last year to celebrate Denise’s birthday and
she wanted to go there again this year. We were going a week ago on her
birthday but they got some unexpected company that stayed three days and with us
working on the laundry closet plus we also got company one day. So this evening
we finally got to celebrate Denise’s birthday. On the way home we stopped by
Bed, Bath and beyond to see if they might have a wire hanging rack for the laundry
closet, no luck on that but did find a new replacement head for my Grill Daddy
which I was happy to find. So it was another great day that God made for us.

Well
the news today is Cheri and I have sold the house and bought a new 40’ motor
home along with a Jeep for a tow vehicle and are going to start by making a
trip though South America. Well it is April fool’s Day. We are very happy right
here with our new home. We took a day off from work as we had company today.
Ted and Gaby were here; they are from Ohio and are down for a couple of weeks.
Ted and I were in the Navy together, Ted was my best man when Cheri and I got married.
It sure was good to see them, catching up and reminiscing about the old days
back in Brunswick Maine where we were stationed together. We went out for lunch
at the Island Breeze, very good. Then back to our place for more visiting and
looking at pictures. Before we knew it the day was over it was time to say good
bye to them. After they left we went to Wal-Mart, Cheri needed laundry soap for
the new washing machine and I wanted to get the oil changed in the van. Earlier
today Cheri and I were reading the manuals that came with the new washer and
dryer. There was a start up procedure for the dryer to test the exhaust. Well I
knew it was ok but thought I would do it to see how it worked and the test
failed. I went out and checked the exhaust vent and the weather flapper was
stuck closed. I run the test again and all was OK. It sure felt good to have a
day off and relax.

Cheri got a call from Mary this morning letting her know that she
has a bad cold and will not have any pool exercise class. We got an e-mail from
Grandma letting us know that she isn’t feeling any better and wants to go to
the doctor. So Cheri called and was able to get her in at 11:10 am. The doctor
gave her a prescription for some antibiotics as she also has a sinus infection.
Cheri dropped Grandma off at home and went and got the medicine and brought it
back to Grandma and she told Cheri that she couldn’t take it, so Cheri had to
go back to the doctor to get a different prescription and took it to Wal-Mart
to be filled. Three hours later Cheri finally go home and was behind on her
house work as we have company coming tomorrow. I worked on the laundry closet;
Larry came just as I was getting ready to put the washer and dryer in the
closet, great timing on Larry’s part. I needed the help to stack the dryer. We
got it all done except for a few minor things that need to be finished. We got
all the tools and misalliance materials out in the shed. From the looks it will
take me a week to get everything put away in the shed. Larry helped me remove
the old dresser and night stands. Cheri did the vacuuming and then Larry and I
brought in the new dresser and night stands. It was around 6:00 pm before we
got done. Larry said it was time to go to Golden Corral for supper. So we went
and picked up Denise and headed to Golden Corral. When we got home Denise
checked out the bedroom and then they headed for home. Cheri and I were both
very tired; we did watch Dancing with the Stars and called it a night. We are
so blessed to have Larry and Denise to help us with some of our projects. I
will post pictures tomorrow.
