Gay April-3-14

I
had gotten a call from the VA clinic yesterday to let me know that my
appointment for today was canceled. So first thing this morning I drove over to
get another appointment. At 10:00 am we picked up Larry and Denise and went to IKEA
down in Tampa. I was surprised that there weren’t more cars in the parking lot.
It was really nice walking through looking at things without being pushed
around by people. We were looking for some shelving for the laundry closet. We
did find a couple of things that would work but still not what I really wanted.
We had lunch at the cafeteria in IKEA and I must say it was very good. We also
signed up to be part of the IKEA family, makes us able to get some discounts on
a few things, just another way to get you in the store. We were ready to check
out when Denise waved us over to the discount and damaged room. They had a cart
loaded with all sorts of damaged and missing parts of cabinets, shelving, a
baby crib, plus other things, all for $10.00. Of course I couldn’t pass of a
bargain like that as I know that there is enough to build the shelves for the
closet and many more projects. Well when we got it out to the van we had a hard
time getting everything in the van. Denise had a beef roast going in the crock
pot for supper and invited us. So on the way home I dropped Denise and Cheri
off at their place. Larry and I went to our place to help me unload all the
stuff. We moved the old dryer and washer out of the shed so I would have room for
all my high priced materials. Then we took the old dryer and the struts that I
had change on the van to the salvage yard, got $12.25 for them. When we got
back to Larry and Denise’s we played two games of Hand, Knee, and Foot with a
break for supper in between the games. Larry and I won both games but it wasn’t
really that much fun for the girls as games were really lope sided.
