Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. Valentine’s Day means a lot to
me as fifty years ago today I asked Cheri to marry me. She fulfills my life and
helps me through each day. Thank you God for putting us together. Denise and
her girlfriend picked up Cheri at 10:00 am and went shopping. I put the rocking
motorcycle on hold for the day. Larry and I went for a motorcycle ride. We did
a 177 mile ride and found a road that we hadn’t been on before. We even made a
stop to buy candy for our sweeties. Larry and I got home around 4:30 pm and was
surprised that Cheri was home, but she did come a few minutes later. I changed
clothes and we headed to Lakeland to have a steak dinner at Longhorn Steak
House. We had steak fifty years ago and that seems to be what we have each
Valentine’s Day. Well this time things started out wrong and got worse. My
salad came with the wrong dressing on it, Next I had to ask for bread plates.
Then when our steak came Cheri’s wasn’t cooked enough and sent it back. I was
almost half done when it finally came back and it still wasn’t cooked right.
The manager came over and apologized to Cheri and told her she could have
another steak but decided she didn’t want to wait as I was done. So he told her
that she could have anything she wanted and she settled for a nice dessert. All
in all it just made things bad for our special night together.
