Grandma and Nikki went to
church and Sunday school with us this morning. It was another warm and humid
day. Pastor Randy tore a muscle in his leg and doesn’t know how it happened. He
was driving down the road and got a hot burning pain in his leg. So he is on crutches
now. Pastor James delivered the message today and even brought Grandma an
updated message notes for her. After Sunday school we headed back to
Zephyrhills for Bob Perkins memorial which was held at the shuffleboard court. It
was a project that Bob had done a lot of work for and really enjoyed playing
the game. After lunch and talking to Donna and her family we headed for home. Cheri
and Nikki headed to the sewing room checking out another craft project. I did
some computer work. The rest of the day was spent watching TV along with
popcorn for an evening snack. Thank you God for time spent with our Christian friends.

It was already in the 60’s
when I got up this morning and turned out to be in the high 80’s and very
humid. Cheri and I went to the Hole in One Donut shop for breakfast this
morning. Nikki didn’t go with us as she has been sleeping in, enjoying her
vacation. On our way home we stopped at Lowe’s to get a piece of lumber so I
could continue to work on the shadow boxes today. After we got home Cheri and I
took the Christmas tree apart and put in the storage container. Then I worked
on getting the outside Christmas lights removed and back in storage. I headed
for the shop area and worked on the shadow boxes. I got the face frames
installed on the other two boxes. After lunch I worked sanding but got a call
from Donna. The guys that delivered the refrigerator wasn’t able to hook up the
water as the shutoff valve wouldn’t shutoff completely and had to turn the
water off at the street valve. Then they used the old supply line, said that
the new one wouldn’t fit. So I went over to Donna’s to check it out and the new
supply line would fit but before installing it I went to Lowe’s and got a new
shutoff valve. It was after 4:00 pm when I got home. Cheri and Nikki had been
doing a craft project and then went and got Grandma and brought over here to
play cards and have supper with us. Thank you God for helping us with our
projects and getting us through another day.

It was in the low 60’s this
morning and in the low 80’s for a high, plus the humidity has returned. Being
today is Friday it is my early morning for breakfast and Bible study with my accountability
group in Dade City. We studied the last chapter of Job. It was a little after
8:00 am when I got home. Time to get the truck ready for my project at 9:00 am.
Removing an old bathroom vanity and installing a new one along with installing
new faucets in the kitchen. It was a little after 4:00 pm when I got home. Once
again I forgot to take before and after pictures. Cheri and Nikki had been busy
putting all the Christmas decorations away and doing a winter table decoration.
I put all the Christmas decorations in storage. I still have the Christmas tree
take apart and get into storage. After getting my shower and cleaned up we went
out for supper at the new Fresh Country Café. It was a very bad experience,
anything that could go wrong did go wrong. We have eaten at the old place
before they move to a new place and everything was always so good. I did explain
our disappointment to the manager but he didn’t seem to care. Once again our
evening was spent watching TV. I did go to bed early leaving Cheri and Nikki to
watch some more Christmas movies, think they have just about run out of
Christmas movies. Thank you God for the many blessing today.

It was another warm
morning and a high near 80 degrees but very little sunshine. I wasn’t in any
hurry to get around this morning as we were leaving at 10:30 am to go to Plant
City to take Nikki to the Mercantile shop and then for strawberry short cake.
We were really disappointed with the strawberry short cake. The strawberry were
hard, not ripe, and no flavor. If this was my first time I would never go back
again. I guess we were too early in the season to have good berries. We were
back home by 1:00 pm. Cheri and Nikki went shopping and then over to Grandma’s
to play cards. I went out and worked on the shadow boxes. I got the face frames
done on two of them and need to make a trip to Lowe’s for more lumber. It was
after 4:00 pm when I decided to quit for the day. I settled in to watch the
Badger football game. It was after 5:00 pm when Cheri and Nikki got home. Cheri
and Nikki made a breakfast casserole to have for supper, a new recipe and was
pretty good. After supper I headed to the shower and then to watch the rest of
the football game in the bedroom. Cheri and Nikki settled in to watch some more
Christmas movies. Thank you God for guidance and safe travels today.

Much warmer this morning
with a temp of 54 degrees and a high in the low 80’s, my kind of day. Cheri was
busy early getting her Wednesday house work done so she had time to spend with
Nikki today. I worked on the shadow boxes and received a call to check out a
project over in Tampa Bay country. After checking it out and talking to the
lady that I knew I would never be able to satisfy her so I turned down the job.
She did talk me into doing the plumbing after her new counter top and sink are
installed. It was lunch time when I got home. After lunch it was back to work
on the shadow boxes. I now have the boxes assembled and ready to start on the
face frames, not something I wanted to start on today as it was already late in
the afternoon. I went over to Donna’s to make sure she knew the refrigerator
was going to be delivered between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm. From there I took the
car through the car wash. When I got home Cheri and Nikki were watching more
Christmas movies. I went to the bedroom to watch some TV before supper. After
supper we watch some more TV shows we had recorded. I went to bed early and
left Cheri and Nikki to watch more Christmas movies. Thank you God for a
blessed day.

We want to wish you all a
very Merry Christmas and remember the real reason for Christmas to celebrate the
birth of Jesus. This morning Cheri was busy getting the ham in the oven for
dinner today. We had a video call with Darren, Brooke, and Wyatt. Wyatt was
showing us the toys he got for Christmas. He is a very active little boy and is
on the go all the time. We along with Grandma and Nikki were invited over to
Larry and Denise’s for dinner along with some of their friends. We had a very
good dinner along with a lot of friendship visiting and cards. It was around
6:00 pm when we got home. We settled in with some Christmas candy and popcorn
to watch some TV shows. I went bed early and Cheri and Nikki continued watch
some more Christmas movies. Thank you God for sending your son to teach us and
take way our sins.

It was a cold morning but
had a lot of sun and by 10:00 am I no longer needed a jacket. I had a 9:00 am appointment
to repair a water leak under a bathroom vanity. It resulted in a trip to Lowe’s
to get a new shut off valve and supply line. Next I went over to Mike and Pam’s
to pursue an electrical problem they have. They had a ground fault breaker that
had trip and couldn’t reset it. It was caused from all the rain we had. I did
get the problem isolated to an area but now it is working again. They also had
a small leak in their lanai. I checked the roof and caulked a couple of spots
that many have been the problem but now will have to wait and see. Cheri and
Nikki were out shopping this morning. This afternoon they were making candy. I
relaxed and took a nap. We had an early supper so that we could leave at 5:15
pm to pick up Grandma and go to candle light service to celebrate the arrival
of baby Jesus. We were back home by 7:30 pm. We also check out some of the
Christmas lights while we were out and about. We finished off the evening with
popcorn and TV Christmas shows.

The day started with a
temp of 34 degrees, not to my liking but did warm up to upper 60’s for a very
nice day. Grandma didn’t want to go to church this morning because it was too
cold for her. So we dropped Nikki off to visit and play cards with her. Church
and Sunday school were very good both about the Christmas story. On the way
home we picked up Nikki. I settled into the recliner for a two hour nap as I
was still tired from the day before. Cheri and Nikki were busy making meatballs
to take over to Ron and Sandy’s for a get together along with Mike & Pam
and Craig & Michelle. But Ron got a call from Craig and was told that they
couldn’t make it because Michelle was sick. We had a good visit but had to
leave at 6:00 pm in order to be at church to listen to Eirinn Abu play his
saxophone. Listening to his saxophone music is a spiritual experience. To learn

concert. We watched a little TV and called it a night. It was a wonderful day
spent with many Christian friends and God.

It was an early morning for
me. I needed to be up by 2:45 am and was awake at 2:00 am so I got up. I had to
pick up Kathy (Donna’s daughter) and take her to ST Pete airport. I got back
home at 5:30 am which is half hour after I normally get up. Being it was
Saturday which means Cheri and I go out for breakfast at the Hole in One donut
shop. When we got back home Nikki was just getting up. At 10:00 am Cheri and
Nikki went to the grocery store and then made a trip to Big Lots in Dade City
to pick up some curtains that Nikki wanted and then picked up Grandma. I also
left at 10:00 am to pick up Donna and take her to Lowe’s to see about buying a
new refrigerator as the freezer quit working and had to throw away a lot of
meat. We couldn’t fine one that was 33 inches wide as most all of them are 36
inches wide. The space she has is half an inch too narrow for a 36 inch. So no
luck at Lowe’s I could see she was having a hard time getting around with her
broken arm so I took her home and told her I would get Cheri and we would go to
Lakeland to check on buying one for her. It was near noon when I got home. So
after lunch Grandma and Nikki played cards and Cheri and I headed out for
Lakeland. We did find a refrigerator at Best Buy that was the right size so we
bought it. It will be delivered on the 26th. Then it was back to
Donna’s to give her the news about the new refrigerator and bring some her some
ice to keep things cool in a cooler. So far the refrigerator part is still
working. When we got home Grandma was ready for me to take her home. When I got
back we watched a little TV and had pizza for supper. At 6:15 pm we took Nikki
and headed to Dade City to do the Church Street Christmas Walk. They close off
several blocks of Church street and have all the home decorated and different
groups playing and singing Christmas Carrols along the way. It was pretty cold
out and was happy to get a free cookie and hot chocolate. We ended the walk in
our church to listen to the Prime Timers sing some Christmas Carrols and was
much warmer there. It was 8:00 pm when we got home. Cheri and Nikki watched
some Christmas movies that was recorded and I went to bed as I was really tired
from being up so early. Thank you God for all the help and working with us
today.

We had several rain storms
come through today. First it would get really dark and then we would get a
strong wind and rain which would last a short time and then the sun would come
out and be nice. Then would start all over again which went on all day. My day
started with my 6:30 am breakfast and Bible study in Dade City. It was near
8:00 am when I got home. I got cleaned up and headed out for work over in Tampa
Bay with a stop at Lowe’s on the way to pick up some anchor fasteners for
installing three safety bars in a shower. After that project was done I stopped
to see a customer that I have done a lot of work for to see how they were
doing, had a nice visit with them. I stopped by Donna Perkins to check out her refrigerator
which wasn’t working. No help for it and needs to get a new one. Kathy (Donna’s
daughter) took her to see about getting a new one. When I got home Cheri and
Nikki were making peanut brittle (three batches). Of course I had to check it
out to see if it was ok and was really good. Cheri and Nikki went out to the
Donut Hole for breakfast this morning and then shopping. This evening I got a
call from Donna wanting to know if I would take Kathy to the airport in the
morning as she is flying back to Wisconsin. It will be an early day as we have
to leave at 3:30 am. So I headed to bed early to get some sleep as I will be
getting up at 2:45 am. Thank you God for blessed day.

It was an all-day of rain
and wind, received another 2 ½ inches of rain. Also had a tornado touch down a
mile an half from here and did damage to 80 homes. This morning we sat around
the kitchen table and visited with Nikki until noon. We have been having a
problem with the heat pump cycling off and on for a while and was sure it was
the nest thermostat so I removed it and reinstalled the old one. Well that didn’t
cure the problem, so I will be checking into that to see if I can find what is
causing it to recycle. This afternoon Nikki and Cheri went shopping to get groceries
for Grandma. I went out to work on the shadow boxes. A little later I got a
call from Pam and they have an electrical problem with a ground fault breaker
that wouldn’t reset. So I went over to check it out, found that the wiring that
goes out to the garage had a fault in it. I was able to disconnect it and run a
cord to the garage door opener. They still have a couple of outlets that I will
have to rewire, plan on doing the project next week. Nikki and Cheri stopped
over while I was visiting with Mike and Pam. Pam showed Nikki their new house and
then we sat and visited for a while. It was time for supper when we got home.
Cheri had a pot roast going in the crockpot and was ready for us to have for supper.
Nikki worked on setting up her new computer that Darren sent her. Darren will
be doing a remote install of the software that she will need. The evening was
spent watching the last episode of Survivor, sure was an exciting season to
watch. Thank you God for helping us through another day and having Nikki here
with us.

It was a few degrees
warmer this morning with temp of 48 degrees. I waited until it got up to 53
degrees before going out to work in my shop area. I was in the process of
assembling the cabinet shadow boxes when I got a call to fix a hot water
problem from a bathroom faucet in Tampa Bay country. It took longer to drive
over and back then it did to fix the problem. On the way home I made a stop at
Lowe’s for screws and additional lumber for the cabinets. I did get two of the
cabinets assembled. Cheri was busy doing the laundry a day early as she wanted
to have more time with Nikki. She also worked in her sewing room. It started to
rain late this morning and continued the rest of the day and night. It was
raining when we went to the airport this evening to pick up Nikki. It was
really hard to see to drive and happy when we got back home. We did stop on the
way home at Bob Evans for a late supper. I was tired from the trip and decided
to go to bed early. Cheri and Nikki stayed up to visit and watch some TV. Thank
you God for a blessed day and safe travels getting Nikki here. (Just checked
the rain gauge and have received one inch and still raining.)

It was 41 degrees here
this morning. I planned on working on building the cabinets (shadow boxes).
These are actually cabinets without doors that will fill the space about kitchen
cabinets to the ceiling for display items. I did get the boxes cut out and
ready to assemble. I waited this morning until it was 52 degrees before I
started. It was a very nice day with sun and no wind and high temp of 70
degrees. Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work and did spend some time in
her sewing room. At 4:30 pm we went out for supper at Sonny’s BBQ. Cheri had
the pulled pork lunch plate and I had a full rack of baby back ribs that were
very good. On the way home we stopped at Rural King for some trail mix to have
this evening while playing cards with Larry and Denise. The last time we played
Cheri and Denise won big time, well tonight it was Larry and me that were the
big winners. Thank you God for guiding us through the day and presenting us
with good friends.

It was jacket weather this
morning and later if you were out in the sun it was nice but in the shade it
was still jacket weather. I had a 9:00 am appointment for a hot water heater
that wasn’t working and no water coming out of the bathroom hot water faucets.
After checking I could see that it was wet around the bottom of the hot water
heater and a plumbing problem that I didn’t want to get involved in. So I told
them that they needed to call a plumber. The house was just bought by Bob and
Donna Perkins for Bob’s son without an inspection being done. I stopped by the nursing
home to see Donna and let her know about the house problem. I also stopped at
church to check the closing of the front doors and decided that it would be
best to have the company that installed them to come back and adjust them. I
got home around 11:30 am and found Cheri busy in her sewing room. After lunch I
made a trip to Lowe’s to get some of the materials I need for the shadow box
project. When I got home I decided it was too late to start as I had to take
Grandma for a 4:30 pm doctor’s appointment. It was a little before 6:00 pm when
I got home. Cheri had a tatter tot casserole in the oven for supper. It was a
normal evening of TV along with snacks for me to stay awake to watch. Thank you
God for a bless day.

It was another cloudy and
cool day with a misty rain at times. Grandma went to church with us today. We
had a guest speaker today, Dr. Dan Summerlin who is the father of our children’s
Pastor James Summerlin. He is a pastor of a church up in Kentucky and was down
for a visit with Pastor James. Sunday school was good. Our lesson today was
from Genesis 29:16-30. About how God uses imperfect people with imperfect lives
to advance His plans. After we dropped Grandma off we went to see Donna Perkins
but she was had gone to the hospital to see her husband Bob who isn’t doing
well. The rest of our afternoon was watching TV and napping. After our supper
of pizza we headed back to church for Christmas Night of Praise. It was a music
presentation put on by the choir. Thank you God for all your blessing and
friends.

It was another miserable day
with no sun and rain off and on most of the day. We met Mike and Pam at the
Hole in One donut shop at 7:30 am for breakfast and visiting, nice way to start
the day with friends. We were going to go to Wal-Mart for groceries but decided
to wait until it stopped raining. When we got home Cheri worked in her sewing
room and I worked outside getting my mind wrapped around a shadow box project
that I will be doing, needed to figure out the angles and what materials I will
need to buy. We had a late lunch and then made the trip to Wal-Mart, very busy
making it hard to get around with the shopping carts. People have no respect
for other people anymore, they push their carts the same way they drive on the
roads (cart rage and road rage). Because of the late lunch it was just munchies
for the evening with TV.

I was out the door at 6:10
am heading for my accountability group Bible study and breakfast in Dade City.
Today we studied 2 Timothy chapter 4. After reading it you would think that it
was just written yesterday. Midmorning it started to rain and continued off and
on all day and night. Larry came over at 8:30 am this morning and we went down
to the park office to tell them about the accident with the truck and gate.
They didn’t seem to care or want to hear what happen all she would say is that
there is a sign at the gate that says they aren’t responsible for any damage
down by the gate. Larry and I were pretty put out. We went and got an estimate and
there was over $1600.00 in damage. We went back to our place and removed the
bumper which turned out to be a big job getting it off do to all the damage.
Larry had been looking on line at aftermarket bumpers and found one for around
$600.00. The body shop told us about a place in Tampa that had used bumpers so
we took a ride down to check out what they had. Larry was able to get a used
one that was just like new for $500.00. Then it was back home to do the install.
I was going to take Grandma for her doctor’s appointments but Cheri was kind
enough to take her so I could help Larry. I had to quit helping Larry at 5:00
pm as I had to get cleaned up as Cheri and I were invited out for a Christmas
gathering this evening. By the time I got cleaned up Larry and Denise had the
bumper all back on. We had a wonderful evening at Bob and Ida Mae’s, telling
about our Christmas stories when we were young and how we all meet our mates.
Then we sang several Christmas songs. It was around 10:30 pm when we got home
and was still raining. I checked the rain gauge and we received two inches and
is still raining. Thank you God for wonderful day.

It was a little warmer
this morning and turned out to be a nice day. I left the house at 7:30 am as I
had an 8:30 am eye appointment in Tampa VA for my yearly checkup. I found out
that I will have to have cataract surgery on my left eye. After my eye
appointment I went to have my new hearing aids adjusted as one of them was squalling.
I couldn’t hear it but Cheri was the one that told me. On the way home I
stopped and filled the truck with gas. When I got home Cheri was doing laundry
and working on Christmas cards. She was also waiting for a package to come by
UPS that she was going have to sign for. I took medicine over to Grandma’s and
also made a stop at the bank. I was going to work out in the shop this
afternoon but just wasn’t in the mood when it came time. I did get the
Christmas letter ready for Cheri to include with the Christmas cards. This
evening Larry and Denise came over to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. We played two
games and Cheri and Denise won both games. When Larry and Denise came through
the park gate it came closed on their truck and did a lot of damage to the
bumper. Larry and I are going to the office tomorrow to see what they are going
to do about fixing the truck. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cold again this morning
with a temp of 36 degrees and a high near 60 degrees. My work appointment wasn’t
until noon so I took it easy this morning with some computer and paper work.
Cheri was working on the Christmas letter. Cheri left a little before 10:00 am
to pick up Denise to go shopping. I left the house at 11:15 am for my work
appointment. I had two ceiling fans to install. I had some problems with
getting the fans assembled and took longer than I thought it would. It was
around 4:30 pm when I got home. Cheri said that she got home around 4:00 pm and
had bought me a couple of jackets for me to wear to church in the cold weather.
Once again the hot shower felt really good as all the bones and muscles where hurting.
We had the rest of the baby back ribs and beans for supper. It was normal
evening of TV and napping. Thank you God for helping us through the day.

It was a cold 41 degrees
this morning with a stiff breeze and a high of 54 degrees. Cheri said that she
put in a bad night and really tired this morning. So I took her out to Sunrise
Eatery for breakfast as I didn’t have to be anywhere for work today. I was
going to work outside in my shop area but was too cold with the wind. I decided
to take the truck in for an oil change. I got there around 9:30 am and was told
that it would be a two hour wait as it is a first come first serve. They said
that they could give me a ride home and then come and get me when it was done,
said that it would be done at 2:00 pm. Well at 3:00 pm I hadn’t heard anything
so I called them and they said they were working on now. Well it was near 4:00
pm when they came and picked me up, not a happy camper. Cheri did her usual
Tuesday house work and I did some computer work. Because of the big breakfast
we skipped lunch. Cheri fixed us Ruben sandwiches with the leftover corn beef.
It was a normal evening watching TV shows we had recorded. Thank you God for a
blessed day.

It was a cold morning with
a stiff wind all day making it jacket weather. Cheri left at 9:00 am going over
to Larry and Denise’s to help Denise with her quilt project. It was after 4:00 pm
when she got home. I also left a 9:00 am and stopped at Lowe’s and bought a ten
foot stepladder to use to change and repair lights in the houses with the high
ceilings. I couldn’t start my first project until 10:00 am. As it turned out I
didn’t have to use the new stepladder. First I removed the entry way light
fixture cleaned it and installed new light bulbs. Next I removed a ceiling fan
and installed a new one which was a job because it was over end of the bed.
Install some other light bulbs and repaired a down spout from the rain gutters.
It was after 1:00 pm when I got done. I just had enough time to eat lunch
before my 2:00 pm appointment. I was to replace two ceiling fans and two light
fixtures. I removed the kitchen fan and was going to install the new one but
she forgot to get the extended down rod for the fan which I will also need for
the living room fan. But I did install the two new light fixtures which was a
job as there were a lot of parts to assemble before putting them up. It was
after 5:00 pm when I got done and was near 6:00 pm when I got home. I was cold
and ready for a good hot shower. Cheri fixed us baked beans and baby back pork
ribs for supper. By the time we got to our recliners it was after 7:00 pm. We
both slept through the shows we were trying to watch and decided to call it a
night early and watch some TV in bed. Thank you God for guiding us through
another day.

I could see by the radar
we had some bad weather coming this morning. Well during church everybody’s
phones sounded a tornado warning that was for Dade City. At the time church
started it was already raining and the wind blowing. We lost power momentary,
took a while to get the sound system up and going again. Pastor Randy didn’t
let any of this interfere with his message. By the time church and Sunday
school was over it was starting to clean with a few rain showers through the
afternoon. This afternoon we made a trip
to Lakeland as Cheri had a few things she want to get and also made a stop at
Sam’s Club to get salt for the water softener. I got a call from Larry as he wanted
to use the tile saw so when we got home he and Denise came over. We got the saw
out to cut a tile for the fireplace. He had to take some tile out in order to
get the fireplace insert out of the cabinet and broke one of the tiles. This
evening was our church Christmas party and was around 8:30 pm when we got home.

It was a little warmer
this morning but still needed a jacket early but warmed up to be a beautiful day.
We had a surprise this morning when we went for breakfast at the Donut Hole. Mike
and Pam were there waiting for us. It has been a few week since we last seen
them, good to get caught up. When we got home I hung a picture for Cheri in the
spare bedroom and now has the caddy cabinet in place. Then we headed to
Wal-Mart to pick up Grandma’s medicine. There was supposed to be two
medications but only one was ready. They hadn’t received the script that Cheri called
in to the doctor a few days ago. She will have to check with the doctor again
on Monday. Later I headed to Dade City to adjust one of the church’s front doors
as it wasn’t shutting all the way. I wasn’t sure on to adjust the door opener
so I decided to wait until I got home so I could Google it. I also stopped to
see about an oil change in the truck but it was going to be a two hour wait
decided wait for another time. They told me to come early in the morning and
wouldn’t have to wait very long. My next stop was Lowe’s to check on a ten foot
stepladder which I am going to need on Monday for work. My last stop was to get
a haircut which Cheri said I needed. When I got home I was ready for the
recliner to join Cheri to watch some TV. We had leftover corn beef for supper. This
evening Mike and Kathy came over to play cards and aggravation, it was a fun
evening with lots of laughs. Thank you Got for blessing us with great friends.

I was in Dade City at 6:30
am for my accountability breakfast and Bible study. We studied 2 Timothy
chapter 3. I set the animal trap last night as I haven’t set it for a while. This
morning I had caught a possum, which makes for total of five animals I have
caught this year, three cats and two possums. So I took him for a ride out in
the country side for a new home. Cheri had a busy day with house work, haircut,
and taking Grandma for her foot doctor’s appointment. I worked on the dish
washer project today. They had bought a new dishwasher and had paid to have it
installed but when the guy came to install it he told them that the old one
couldn’t be removed because of the tile on the floor and that the new one
wouldn’t fit. So they called me to remove some of the tile so the guy could do
the removal and new install. Instead of removing the tile I figured out how to
get the old one out and the new on in. It took some extra work but was better
than removing tile and then have to install new tile. It was 4:00 pm when I got
the project completed. Cheri fixed us corn beef and cabbage for supper, very
good and have leftovers for Rueben sandwiches. Thank you God for guiding us
through another day.

It was 34 degrees this
morning. I had to do something that you shouldn’t have to do in Florida, scrape
the frost off the truck windshield before I could drive. The ground was also
all white. I left the house at 7:30 am to go to Tampa VA to get my new hearing
aids. What a difference as I can hear much better than I could with the old
ones. The old ones came in the mail today so now I have a backup if something
happens to theses. Cheri was busy this morning getting new medications for
Grandma, getting a refund on a bill that Grandma paid and should not have paid.
Plus she got groceries for Grandma. She said that Wal-Mart was really busy and
will have to go back tomorrow to pick up medicine for Grandma. It was 10:00 am
when I got home. I really didn’t want to go outside to work but pushed myself
to work in the shed and then went through all the materials and tools that I
carry in the truck. Cheri got home at noon so I took a break to have lunch with
her. Then it was back to work with the truck and tools. Later I made a trip to
Harbor Freight to pick up a few things I needed for work and a stop at Rural
King for some bird food. When I got home I filled the bird feeder and called it
a day. Cheri had finished the laundry and was working in her sewing room. We
had breakfast for supper (scrambled eggs, bacon, and English muffin). It was
another cold evening so we settled in and watched some of the TV shows we had
recorded. Thank you God for everything you do for us.

I was back to work at 9:00
am on the vanity project. Things went well and was done by 12:00 pm. They didn’t
want to put down new flooring at this time. It really bothered me that you
could see the old flooring that the new vanity didn’t cover. So I took it on
myself to go to Lowe’s to see if I could find some kind of trim that would
cover the old flooring and still make the vanity look good. After searching
through all the different trims I found a couple that I thought would work. I
had to run one piece of trim through the table saw as it was too tall to fit
under the vanity door. Long story short it is done and looks really nice and
the owners are very happy. It was 3:00 pm when I finally got home for the day.
Cheri had a busy day with taking Grandma for her doctor’s appointment. Disappointed
that Grandma hasn’t been telling us about the problems she has been having. Cheri
spent the afternoon with Denise helping her with a quilting project that she is
working on. It was 4:30 pm when she got home. So we went out to Culver’s for
supper and had our usual kid’s meal. We were back home by 5:30 pm settling in
for an evening of TV. The temp was already down to 48 degrees when we went to
bed, supposed to get down in the 30’s tonight. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I worked on changing out a
vanity today. They wanted me to get the old vanity out in one piece so they
could donate it to Habitat for Humanity. It took me over an hour to get it out
as there was so much caulking and screws holding it in. I had to make a trip to
Lowe’s for some additional plumbing supplies as I had to move the water lines
for the new vanity. Long story short I didn’t get done today and they have to
make a decision on what they want to do with the floor as there was new
flooring put down over the old and the new vanity won’t cover all the old
flooring. I quit work at 4:00 pm as I knew I wasn’t going to get done today.
Cheri was busy with her Tuesday house work and Ironing. She also painted a
picture frame to match the cubby cabinet. Cheri fixed us a ribeye steak and
baked potatoes for supper. This evening we went over to Larry and Denise’s to
play Hand, Knee, and Foot. We played two game and we all came away winners,
much more fun that way. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

Cheri got another coat of
paint on her cubby cabinet. It is another humid day with a high in the 80’s so
the paint doesn’t want to dry. I worked here in the park installing wheels on
three gates in the carport, repaired another patio gate at would shut properly,
and installed a new light switch in the bathroom that was causing an electrical
outage. I was back home by 1:00 pm. After lunch I got my truck ready for tomorrow’s
work of removing and installing a new bathroom vanity. Cheri made a trip to
Wal-Mart and it was very busy and glad to be back home. They were still out of
the coffee that we buy there. We will check again a couple of days. Maybe it is
time to change to a different brand. Cheri fixed us ham steak, mashed potatoes,
cheese cauliflower for supper, and a cherry bar for dessert. We picked up new
friends that live here in our park that are attending our church and Sunday
school. We headed to Dade City for our yearly Sunday school meeting setting
things up for the next year. It started to rain on the way up and had a hard
time seeing the road with the oncoming traffic lights. It continued raining off
and on through the night and see this morning that we received ¾ inch. Thank
you God for another blessed day.

It was a warm and humid
morning and afternoon with a high in the 80’s. Grandma went to church with us
today. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “Emotions of Christmas; Facing Our
Fears”. From the Book of Mathew 1: 19-20. We started a new study book in Sunday
school. Our lesson today was “The Deceiver” from the book of Genesis 37:18-29.
Cheri had planned on putting another coat of paint on her cubby cabinet but it
was still tacky from the first coat. So our afternoon was spent in our
recliners relaxing, reading, watching TV, and some napping. A good way to spend
an afternoon. Cheri fixed us pizza for supper and leftover dessert from the
Christmas party last night. Thank you God for a restful day and time spent with
you and friends.

Hard to believe another
month has gone. At 7:45 am Cheri and I headed for the donut shop for our usual
Sat morning breakfast treat. It was much warmer this morning and Cheri decided
that she wanted to paint her cubby cabinet. So I got things set up for her in
the Sunroom for painting. I worked outside in my shop work area getting things
back in place. It was so bad that I couldn’t even walk around the area. Cheri
and I took a break around noon to rest a bit. Cheri had the primer paint on the
cubby. This afternoon she got the first coat of orange paint on the cubby. The rest
of the afternoon she made three different desserts to take to the Sunday school
Christmas party. I continued outside and got most of the shop area cleaned up
and ready for the next project. Later I made a trip to Wal-Mart to get some
more containers for tools I carry in the truck and found out that being at
Wal-Mart wasn’t a good thing as it was really busy and hard to get around. I
tried to buy some coffee while I was there but they were out of it. Then I stopped
at Lowe’s to get the new Kerg jig that I will be using on a couple of upcoming
projects. On the way home I stopped to check out a project of installing a new
bathroom vanity which I will be doing either Tuesday or Wednesday. When I got
home I relaxed with Cheri for an hour before it was time to pick up Jan and go
to the Sunday school Christmas party. We had a good time with lot of food and
friendship. We had a Christmas ornament exchange and testimony time. There were
53 of us at the party. It was near 8:30 pm when we arrive home. Thank you God
for time spent with our Sunday school friends.

Yep it is Friday which
means I was out the door at 6:10 am heading to Dade City for my accountability
Bible Study and Breakfast. Today we studied 2 Timothy chapter 2, good stuff. I
didn’t get home until 8:30 am as we spent more time visiting. Cheri was busy
doing laundry and then getting ready to go to the bank and then grocery
shopping. I unloaded the truck and separated the old roof singles from the
underlayment and put them out for trash pickup. By the time I was done with
that it was lunch time. After lunch I retuned a few things I didn’t need from
the roof project to Lowe’s and San Antonio lumber. Then I stopped by Ron and
Sandy’s to unload all the old underlayment and scrap lumber I had for the fire
pile. On the way home I stopped by Harbor Freight to check out a blind screw
jig I read about in my Handy Man magazine. I didn’t think it was as nice as the
Kreg jig which is a little more money but a better tool. So it is on my list to
get as I will need it for another project I will be doing this month building
shadow boxes. After filling the truck with gas I headed home. It was 3:30 pm
and decided I had done enough for the day. Cheri fixed pork chops done in the
oven with a new type of coating the Nikki told her about and they were very
good. We spent the evening trying to get caught up on TV shows we have
recorded. The day started out on the cool side but turned out to be a perfect
fall day. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was three degrees
warmer this morning with a temp of 42 degrees, not sure what the high temp was
but couldn’t have been much more than 60. I picked up Larry at 8:30 am and we
headed over to Tampa Bay country to reroof two sign roofs. We were done with
the first one by noon and had to go into San Antonio to get some additional
supplies for the second sign roof. We had more trouble getting the old roof off
the second sign. But we finished the project by 5:00 pm. I was cold and ready
for a good hot shower when I got home. Thanks Larry for all the help today as I
never would have gotten it done without your help. Cheri and Denise did some
shopping today along with working on their quilt project. Thank you God for all
the help and guidance today.

It was a cold morning with
39 degrees and near 60 degrees for a high. We left at 9:00 am to take Nikki to
the airport. We had a good time with her and hated to see her leave. We were
back home by 11:00 am. We relaxed until it was time to pick up Larry and Denise
at 1:00 pm to go shopping down in Lakeland and then out for an early dinner at
Ling’s Chinese Buffet. It was early when we got back to Larry and Denise’s to
play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Larry and I won. Larry and Denise are
just about done with the fireplace project, looks really nice. I am not sure
what the problem was but Cheri and I were both really tired so we came home
early. It was cold in the house so we crawled in to bed with the electric
blanket on and watch some TV. We got a text from Nikki and she made it home
safe and sound. Thank you God for everything you do for us.

I didn’t have any work
away from home today. I did rearrange the truck and made a trip to check out
tub surrounds for a potential project. I also stopped at Harbor Freight to pick
up some gate wheels for a project that I had started back in June and had to
wait for them to return to Florida this fall to finish the project. I stopped at the park office to let them know
about a dead tree in the back of our neighbors yard that needs to come down as
it has dropped a couple of large limbs. I check another project of getting an
exciting dishwasher out of the kitchen as it is tight to the counter top and floor
tile had been installed at a later time and they can’t get the old one out. I
may have to remove a few floor tile to get it out. I checked out another
bathroom project and they are going to wait until after the first of the year.
Late this afternoon I put up our Christmas lights but not as many as last
couple of years, just lights where I didn’t have to use a ladder. Cheri and
Nikki went shopping and then picked up Grandma and brought her over here for
supper and cards. Cheri and Nikki made turkey and dumping along with a new
recipe for cherry bars. Later I took Grandma home and then an evening of TV and
popcorn. It was a cool day with a high temp of 67. Thank you God for a blessed day and guidance.

I was out the door at 6:30
am heading for the Tampa VA as I had an 8:00 am appointment for a C scan on my
lung to see if the lump has changed or not. A couple of months ago my hearing
aids quit working and as long as I was there I had them checked out and found
that they will have to send them away to be repaired. I have had them for six
years and needed a hearing test so I had that done while I was there. My
hearing has change very little in the last six years. They also fitted me for
new hearing aids which should be ready to pick up next week. Things went well
and was home by 10:30 am. Cheri and Nikki were ready to go shopping. I changed
my clothes and went over to Larry and Denise’s to help Larry work on his
fireplace project. By 5:30 pm we had all the tiling done, looks really nice.
Cheri and Nikki stopped over to check it out and to visit with Denise. When
they left they picked up Grandma so we could go out for dinner at the new
Sunrise restaurant. With me being late getting home from Larry and Denise’s it
was after 6:00 pm when we got to the restaurant. It was very busy and had to
wait a bit to get in. It was near 8:00 pm when we finally got home. It was a
short evening watching TV as we all napped through a couple of shows. Thank you
God for the safe travels and being with us through another day.

Nikki and Grandma went to
church and Sunday school with us this morning. Pastor Randy’s message was
titled “How to Tame your Temper” from the Book of James 1:19-20. Sunday school
was from the book of James 5:7-9, 13-20 “With Anticipation”. We brought Grandma
home with us so she could spend more time with Nikki. I headed over to Harbor
Freight to get a new tile saw blade for my tile saw. Larry is going to be using
it this week and are going to try a new blade to see it that will stop the chipping
of the tile. When I got home I changed the blade and took the saw over to Larry
and Denise’s. Larry and Denise had been over to Tarpon Springs to buy some
fencing that they saw on Craigslist, got a good deal. When I got home I found
Cheri, Grandma, Nikki at the kitchen table looking at magazines on home
decorations. Nikki is planning on painting and redecorating her house next year
and is looking for different ideas. I headed to the recliner and watched some
TV and napped. This evening Cheri and Nikki watched a couple of movies and I went
to the bedroom to watch the Green Bay Packers get beat by Minnesota Vikings. Which
means that they won’t make the playoffs this year. Cheri came to bed just as
the game was getting over. Thank you God for our church and Sunday school to
learn your word and spend time with Christian friends.

Not a lot going on today.
Cheri and I left at 7:00 am for the Hole in One donut shop for our Saturday
morning breakfast sandwich and to satisfy our sweet tooth. Nikki didn’t want to
get up that early so we brought donuts home for her. One of my jigsaws had quit
working and have been thinking about getting a new one but not wanting to pay
the $139 for the one that uses the same batteries has the Ridgid tools I have. But
Home Depot had a special deal that if you bought a package with the hammer
drill and impact driver for $200 you could get the jigsaw for free. It was a
deal that I couldn’t pass up. I stopped by Larry and Denice’s to see if Larry
wanted to go to Home Depot with me. So we headed out to check out the tools. I
did buy the drill and impact package and got the jigsaw. Larry and I also
bought some additional saw blades that were on sale. When I got home Cheri and
Nikki were getting ready to go shopping. So I decided to get the Christmas
lights out and put them up. But it was too hot and decided to wait for another
day. I did set down at the computer and registered the new power tools. They
have a normal three year warranty but if you register them you get a lifetime
warranty. The rest of the day was spent in my recliner napping and watching
some TV. When Cheri and Nikki got home Cheri fixed us lasagna Texas toast for
supper. After supper Cheri and Nikki settled in watching Christmas movies and I
went to the bedroom to watch the Wisconsin Badger football game with Minnesota.
The Badgers lost big time. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I was up at 3:45 am not
able to go back to sleep. I was out the door at 6:10 am heading to Dade City
for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. There were only two of
us this morning. I was back home by 8:00 am. Cheri was busy doing laundry as
she wasn’t able to get any done yesterday with all the Thanks Giving things
going on. I helped Cheri get the Christmas decorations out and put together the
new Christmas tree she bought a few weeks ago. The last few years she has
wanted a pencil tree and finally found one she liked. Cheri and Nikki spent most
of the day decorating for Christmas. I spent the rest of the morning doing
paper work. This afternoon I made a trip to Lowe’s to pick up a new security
light for Bob and Donna and then installed it for them. When I got home Grandma
was here and playing cards with Cheri and Nikki. I headed to the recliner to
rest. We had Thanks giving leftovers for supper and think we will be having turkey
for a few more days. Nikki and Grandma played some more cards before taking her
home. After watching some TV I headed for the shower and then to bed. Cheri and
Nikki stayed up watching a movie. Thank you God for guiding us through another
day.

Happy Thanks Giving to
everyone. I pray that you got to spend time with friends and family. We were
blessed to have dinner here prepared by Cheri and Nikki. Denise also brought a
green bean hot dish. We had Jan, Sherry, Grandma, Larry, Denise, Nikki, Cheri
and myself here for turkey dinner. It was a good time and some good visiting
catching up. Early this morning I worked on Cheri’s cubby unit and got it back
to together and got the legs and extra trim added, now it is ready for Cheri to
do the painting on it. I was just about done when Cheri said that the kitchen
drain was plugged up. They had peeled a bunch of potatoes and put the skins
through the garbage disposal all at once. I had read that Potato skins are not
supposed to be put through the disposal. I had to take the plumbing apart from
the disposal to the drain trap to remove the potato skins. Good thing I am able
to do it as I can’t imagine how much it would cost to get a plumber to come out
on a holiday. By 4:00 pm our guest had left and I took Grandma home. When I got
back Cheri and Nikki were already putting away the fall decorations and getting
out the Christmas decorations. It was short evening of TV as we were all
falling asleep so decided to call it an early night. Thank you God for all your
blessing and being with friends today.

You ever have one of those
days that nothing goes right and should have stayed in bed, well I had one of
them today. I was working on Cheri’s new cubby cabinet and broke the bottom of
it while attaching some legs. Later this morning we dropped Nikki off at
Grandma’s to visit while I took Cheri for her eye appointment up in
Brooksville. She did get a good report with no change in the eye. On the way
home we stopped at Florida Cracker Kitchen for lunch which is one of our favorite
places. Well the hamburger we spit was wasn’t very good, first time we have had
a bad meal there. The tire TMS alarm came on in the car saying we had low air
pressure. I check the tires and all seemed ok but did top them off. Then I had
trouble getting the TMS alarm to clear. Then we stopped at Lowe’s to get some
cabinet screws and dole pins to repair the broken base of Cheri’s cubby
cabinet. The dole pins that were broken were metric and the only one I could
buy were US standards. So I had to drill out the holes to make the new ones
fit. Cheri also picked out some additional trim she wants me to add to the
cubby cabinet. We picked up Nikki and head home. Cheri and Nikki were busy in
the kitchen getting things ready for Thanks giving dinner tomorrow. I did some
work on the cubby cabinet when I tried to attach the legs to the base of the
cabinet there wasn’t enough wood to attach to as the panel was a hollow core
piece. I got out the silicone to attach the legs and will wait until tomorrow
if that is going to work. After a late supper we settled in for an evening of
TV and some napping for all of us. Thank you God for helping us through another
day.

I finished the project I
had started yesterday on the door in the siding for access to the water
shutoff. I was back home in time to go with Cheri and Nikki to the flea market.
It is the first time we have been there since they opened this fall. Cheri
brought some books and I bought a couple of new dress belts. It has been over
thirty years since I have had any new dress belts. I also bought a bag of
kettle corn which is one of my weakness when I am where they have it for sale.
When we got home it was time for lunch. After lunch I went to Bob and Donna’s
to check the outside security light which wasn’t working. I could get it to
work part of the time and decided that they are going to get a new for me to
install. Cheri and Nikki went and got groceries and medicine for Grandma and
then spent some time visiting with her. Later this afternoon I worked on
getting Cheri’s new nine hole cubby put together. She wants some additional
things done to it like legs installed on it. So after putting it together I
went to Lowe’s and got some legs for it. When I got home it was already after
4:00 pm and decided I was done for the day. Cheri fixed pork chops, corn, scallop
potatoes, and fresh biscuits for supper. The rest of the evening was spent
watching TV shows we had recorded. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I started the day getting
the truck loaded for today’s work. I couldn’t start on the bathroom until 10:00
am so I worked on another project here in the park that has been on my schedule
for the last month. I installed a new door sweep on the lanai and then to make
an opening with a small door to have access to the main water shut off. It was
10:00 am and time to go back to the bathroom project. Donna had gotten the towel
bars, light fixture, and grab bars that I needed to install along with a few
other minor touch ups. As of 5:00 pm the bathroom project is officially done. Another
very happy customer. Cheri was busy with her house work and then spent time in
the sewing room. She also went and visited Jean our next door neighbor. After
supper we headed to the airport to pick up our daughter Nikki as she is coming
in from Wisconsin to spend Thanks Giving with us and Grandma. The traffic at
the airport pick up point was really busy and has to wait in long line to pick
up Nikki. It was around 8:30 pm when we arrived home. Cheri and Nikki settled
in to watch Dancing with the Stars. I headed to the bedroom to watch a little
TV before calling it a night. It was near midnight with Cheri came to bed.

Grandma had said that if
it was too cold she wasn’t going to church but it didn’t get that cold last
night and she was able to go. We have been getting to church earlier as I have
been helping hand out church bulletins and helping with the offering. Pastor
Randy’s message was from the book of James 1:19-20 “The Truth about Temptation”.
In Sunday school we were studying James 4:6-17 “With Submission”. After Sunday
school we dropped Grandma off and made a stop at Lowe’s so Cheri could look at
the nine slot cubby that was a display model but they would only give us 10 %
off on it which wasn’t enough as it had some damage. They were supposed to have
a new on in stock but couldn’t find it. They checked for us and Lowe’s in Plant
City had three of them in stock. So we headed home to change clothes and then
took the truck to Plant City and got the unit that Cheri wanted. When we got
home it was time for me to watch the NASCAR race which is the last one for the
season, no more racing until February. Cheri read and napped while the race was
on. We had our usual Sunday night supper of pizza and an evening of TV. Thank
you God for a blessed day with Christian friends.

Cheri and I were at the
Donut Hole in One by 7:30 am for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. Being it
was only 43 degrees this morning we thought that there wouldn’t be a lot of
people there but that wasn’t the case. I guess when it comes to the sweet taste
of donuts nothing is going to stop them from coming and we are proof of that.
When we got home Cheri headed down to the Club House as they were having a
craft fair. I headed for Lowe’s to get some clips to secure the air conditioner
power cable to the wall. Then on to Dade City to finish the air conditioner
work. I got the inside and outside painted and the power cable secured. When I
got home Cheri showed me the things she bought at the craft fair. I unloaded
the tools from the truck and loaded all the scrap lumber and took them out to
Ron and Sandy’s as Ron has a burn pile to get rid of card board and scrap
lumber. Cheri and I had looked at a nine module cubby unit that would hold the
container she has bought. I told her when the truck was empty I would pick up
the unit for her. Well went I go to Lowe’s they didn’t have any left and the display
models had been removed. Sometime in the near future they will have new ones so
now it is a wait and see what they will have. While I was doing all of that Cheri was
grocery shopping getting things for Thanks Giving dinner. This evening Larry
and Denise came over to play cards. We played two games of Hand, Knee, and
Foot. Cheri and Denise won both games. Thank you God for leading and guiding us
today.

It was 20 degrees colder
this morning than yesterday with a temp 43 degrees, not to my liking. Once
again I was out the door at 6:10 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group
breakfast and Bible study. Our study this morning was in Romans chapter 14. I
was back home by 8:00 am and sat down and watched the rest of the Green Bay
Packer game that they lost, not a good season for them this year. Cheri was up
early getting the laundry going and then getting ready to take Grandma for her
doctor’s appointment. I left the house at 9:00 am and headed to Lowe’s to pick
up a few things that I needed to get the air conditioner caulking done and the
strip to cover the TV cord on the wall. I figured on getting panel around the
air conditioner painted today but ran out of time as we were having company (Doug
and Judy) coming at 2:30 pm. They are thinking about installing new kitchen
cabinets and want to see the RTA cabinets we installed in our kitchen. After a
good visit the four of us went out to Sonny’s for dinner. After dinner we said
out good byes and headed home. It was another evening of TV and napping before
heading to bed. Thank you God for being with us and time spent with friends.

I had a very good day.
Larry helped me install a new larger air conditioner in the church kitchen. The
old one wasn’t big enough to cool the kitchen. We had to rebuild the window
opening. Not sure how we were going to do it but with Larry and my idea
together we came up with a good plan and got it done. We had to be out of the
church kitchen by 3:30 pm as they had a meal that was going to be put on for
the evening and needed the kitchen. Well we got done on time but I will have to
go back and do some caulking and painting which I plan on doing tomorrow. We
also hung a new 72 inch TV in Fellowship Hall. It was near 4:30 pm when I
arrived home. Denise was here working with Cheri as they were each doing a
quilt hanger. I had dropped Larry off at home not knowing Denise was here.
Cheri also got her laundry done and took Grandma for her heart doctor’s
appointment. Cheri fixed us some left over roast beef and gravy along with the
food we brought home from Olive Garden. It was another evening of TV trying to
get caught up on the shows we have recorded. I did try to watch the Green Bay
Packers game but quit at half time as I was too tired to stay up for the rest
of the game. I recorded it so I will try to watch the rest of it tomorrow.

I didn’t have any work
away from home today so Cheri and I took our time getting around and went out
to Sunrise Eatery for breakfast this morning. Cheri was busy doing her Wednesday
house work and then worked in our master bathroom doing some sanding on the
vanity doors and then some touchup painting. I took the truck through the car
wash and vacuumed it out. Then I took the car through the car wash and also
vacuumed it out. I made a stop at Lowe’s to return some materials and get four
towel bars that you have to put together and cut to lengths so they can be
mounted on the inside of the vanity doors. Well Lowe’s no longer sell the ones
I wanted. When I got home I did a couple of honey dew jobs for Cheri,
installing new handles on a cabinet and change the furnace filter. Then we
headed to Lakeland to return some material at Floor and Décor which I forgot to
take back the other day when we were there. From there we went to Home Depot
where I found the towel bars that I wanted. Then a stop at Olive Garden for a
late lunch and early dinner. We had one of the early birds specials and even
brought food home. When we got home we decided we had done enough for the day
and headed for the recliners for an early evening of TV which was good as we
are three and four episodes behind in our shows. We had rain during the night
and didn’t quit until around 3:00 am, checked the gauge and only received 3/4
inch. Thank you God for a relaxed day and getting a few things done at home.

I was slower getting
around this morning as I didn’t have any work away from home today. I finally did
get started around 9:00 am. I worked on a shadow box project that was supposed
to have been done the first of Nov. I made a proto type box and then went to
Tampa Bay country to see if it would work for the couple. We made some minor
changes so now I have to build five boxes that will fit up over the kitchen
cabinets. Because of Thanks Giving and they are going to be gone for the month
of December I will do the install the first week of January which is good as it
will give me more time to get them built. Cheri took Grandma for her doctor’s
appointment this morning. She also made a trip to Wal-Mart for Grandma’s
medicine along with other things she needed. She said it was really busy and
even had trouble finding a parking place (snow birds are here). We had leftover
roast beef for supper. We left the house at 5:00 pm and headed to Dade City for
a movie that the church is sponsoring at the drive inn theater. The name of the
movie is Woodlawn. Several of us from church volunteered to help. Cheri and I
were at ticket booth handing out church information and a ticket for a free bag
of popcorn. It has been a lot of years since we have been to a drive inn movie.
We had seen the movie before but enjoyed it again. It was 9:00 pm when we got
home. We decided to get ready for bed and watch a little TV in bed. Thank you
God for a blessed day.

Cheri and I weren’t able
to start the finish work on the bathroom project until 10:00 am. So Cheri was
busy getting a beef roast with carrots, potatoes, and onions going in the
crockpot for supper this evening. I did some paper work and got the truck
loaded with all the things we might need today. Once again things took longer
than I thought it would. We worked until 4:00 pm. I still have some corner work
on the tiles that I am having a hard time with. Plus I am going to pick up some
towel bars to install on the inside of the vanity doors. But will wait for
Donna to get the light fixture and grab bars she wants installed. While I was
showering Cheri was putting supper on the table which didn’t take long as it
was all done in the crockpot. This evening we were invited over to Larry and
Denise’s to play Hand, Knee, and Foot. I think the last time we played was back
in April. We only played one game as I was too tired to play another game. We were
home by 9:30 pm. I headed to bed and Cheri watched Dancing with the Stars.
Thank you God for helping us through another day. I will post before and after
pictures of the bathroom project.

I put in a bad night and
was up a 4:00 am and had been awake long before that. Cheri got up shortly
after I did. She was out in the kitchen early putting together a seven layer
salad for our Sunday school Linger Longer which is really a pot luck meal we
have a couple times a year after the Sunday school lesson. It is a chance to
get to know the people that is in our class and new members. Grandma did go to
church with us today and I also helped with the offering. After we dropped
Grandma off a home I went to see about getting a free haircut for being a veteran
at Great Clips. It was around 2:30 pm when we finally got home. I settled in to
watch the NASCAR race that I was recording and then the Green Bay Packer
football game. Cheri read and napped most of the afternoon. We did watch a
couple of shows between the race and football game. We had our usual Sunday
evening meal of pizza while watching TV. Thank you God for a blessed day with
church friends.

It was 7:30 am before we
got to the Hole in One Donut shop this morning. Once again there were a lot of
people there, mostly men coffee clutching. When we got home I went right to
work out in the shop putting things away and cleaning. Cheri went shopping at
Beall’s as she had a coupon she wanted to use and then to get groceries for
Grandma and ourselves. Cheri was back by noon and I took a break to rest a bit.
We skipped lunch as neither of us were hungry. Later in the afternoon I decided
I had done enough for the day. So I loaded the car with some materials I didn’t
need for the bathroom project. I check on Cheri and she was busy in her sewing
room. After I showered and got cleaned up we made a trip to Lakeland to return
the unused materials at Floor and Décor. On the way home we stopped at Steak
and Shake for late lunch and early supper. When we got home I settled in to
watch the Wisconsin Badgers get beat by Penn State and Cheri was back in her
sewing room working. Later we both settled in to watch some shows we had
recorded. We are three and four episodes behind on shows we have recorded.

Today I was out the door
at 6:10 am heading to Dade City for my accountability group breakfast and Bible
study. Our study for today was Romans Chapter 12. Today was the day that I was
supposed to have the bathroom project done. Well I didn’t make as I came up
about four hours short of having it done. Cheri helped me all day and even did
some laundry and went for a haircut. I also made a trip to Lowe’s to get a
shower head extension. Cheri and I had to be done by 3:30 pm as that was the
time Bob and Donna were arriving. All that is left do is some caulking and
painting some grout lines. I still have towel bars, grab bars, soap dish, and
toilet paper holder to install that Donna needs to buy and show me where she
wants them. It took a while for Cheri and me to get all of my tools home and
back in the shop which is a mess as everything for from this project is stacked
in there and needs to be put away and to get the truck loaded again. I didn’t
want Cheri to have to cook supper after working so hard today. So we went out
for supper at the Sunrise Eatery for a fish dinner. It was around 6:00 pm when
we got home and settled in for an evening of TV which turned out to be nap time
for both of us and very little TV watching. We were both exhausted and decided
to go to bed. Thank you God for the many blessings and guidance today.

This was supposed to be
our last day working on the bathroom project but with some minor hiccups we
didn’t finish. The grouting took much longer than I thought it would. Larry did
more of the final things along with mixing the grout for me. I had trouble with
the grout setting up before I could use all of it, never had that problem
before. Cheri was there to help after she got the laundry started. She helped
clean the tile after the grouting was done. The main reason we didn’t get done
was a problem with the black grout and caulking. I made a trip to Calver’s for
supper and brought it back to the bathroom project while Cheri was doing some
of the touch up painting. We finally quit at 8:00 pm and then made a trip to
Lowe’s for some black paint to match the black tile. By the time we got
showered and cleaned up we decided it was too late for an evening of TV so
crawled into bed and watch some TV there. Thank you God for guiding us through
another day.

It was another busy day of
work with the bathroom project with Larry and Cheri helping. I continued tiling
while Larry did trim work and helped me by cutting the tiles I need. Cheri painted
two doors that the painters were supposed to have done. She also made a trip to
Lakeland to pick up some more pencil tile that I was running out of. After the
tiling was done Cheri was able to finish the door painting. While Cheri was
painting I loaded the truck with some of the tools we no longer need. As of
6:00 pm everything is done except grouting, touch up painting, and clean up. I
plan on posting before and after pictures when we get done. We were really
tired and only had an English muffin with peanut butter for supper. We both
fell asleep watching TV so decide to call it a night. Thank you God for a
blessed.

Cheri took Grandma for her
lab appointment this morning. After getting her Tuesday house work done she
spent the rest of the day shopping with Denise and her mother. Larry helped me
again today with the bathroom project. We had a good day and got a lot done.
First thing this morning we worked on getting the barn door installed, Then
Larry worked on getting the new sinks installed, the medicine cabinets trimmed
out, the toilet installed, and helping me cut tile. I worked on the tiling
again today. I thought that I would get it all done but at 5:00 pm I still had
a couple more hours of install that needs to be done before the grouting can
start. By the time we got things cleaned up it was after 5:30 pm. I had to quit
so Cheri and I could go and vote. After voting we went on to Culver’s for
supper. When we got home we called Darren to see how things were going and to
have him remote into our computer to see why we haven’t gotten any e-mails for
the last three days. It turned out that we had used up all the Google storage.
He deleted a bunch of stuff that we no longer use along with many old e-mails.
Plus I upgraded for more Google memory. After all was done it was near 9:30 pm.
Time to go to bed and watch a little TV to unwind from the busy day. Thank you
God for all that you do for us.

It was back to work on the
bathroom project with the help of Larry. He did a lot of trim work, installed
the medicine cabinets, and assembling the cabinet drawer and installing them. I
continued doing the tiling in the shower area. After lunch Larry and I went to
Lowe’s to get some plumbing supplies and other things we needed. Cheri went to
Home Depot this afternoon for some trim materials for us. It was after 5:00 pm
when we got to a good stopping spot. After supper I was going back to Lowe’s to
buy new bathroom sinks as the old ones were in pretty bad shape and didn’t want
to reinstall them. I had called Donna and told her about the sinks and said
that it is good that I am going to change them. Before going to Lowe’s Larry
and Denise called and said they were coming over so Denise and Cheri could visit
while Larry and I went to Lowe’s and then back to the bathroom house to clean
everything out of the living room and bedroom as the house keeper is coming
tomorrow to do a good cleaning. I really wanted to wait until Thursday but tomorrow
is the only time she can come. It was after 8:30 pm when Larry and I got back
to our house. Thank you Larry for helping me with the rest of the bathroom
project. Thank you God for guiding us today.

Most people got an extra
hour of sleep but not the case for me as I woke up at my usual time which was now
4:00 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. It is going to take a while for my
internal clock to get me back to the right time to wake up. Grandma did go to
church with us this morning, Once again I helped with the offering and looks
like I will be doing it every Sunday. After we got home from Sunday school
Cheri and I went over to do some work on the bathroom project. Cheri painted
and I install some door trim and baseboard. Bob and Donna are returning to
Florida Friday and I need to have the project done. I still have a lot of work
that needs to be done and the cleaning lady is coming Tuesday so I have to have
all my materials out of the living room and bed room, don’t know where I will
put them so I have access. Larry and Denise got back to Florida Friday and
Larry is going to help me this week. This evening were invited over to Skip and
Joy’s at 5:00 pm along with Dick and Linda for pizza, salad, and dessert. It
was a good evening getting together and visiting and getting to know our church
friends better. It was around 9:00 pm when we got home. Thank you God for
spending time with you and Christian friends.

We were at Hole and One
Donut shop at 7:30 am. Twice as many people than other Saturdays, must be all
the snow birds coming. On the way back home we stopped at Lowe’s to pick up
some additional materials I needed for the bathroom project. I was still able
to be at work on the bathroom by 9:00 am. It was all about tiling in the shower
area today. I got the back wall 99 percent done and about ready for grout. I
have one and half walls left to tile and the tiling will be done. I quit at
4:30 pm and changed out a stove hood for a lady here in our park. It was after
6:00 pm when I got home. Cheri spent the day in her sewing room and said that
things didn’t go well for her. After supper I settled in to watch the Wisconsin
Badger football game I recorded. Cheri read for a while and then went to the
bedroom to watch a movie. Thank you God for a blessed day.
