I made a quick stop at Lowe’s this morning on my way to Tampa Bay country for some additional crout as I wasn’t sure if I had enough for the tile project. I had a very good day as things went really well. I thought all I would get done was the crouting but it dried quickly and was able to put down the door transition strip and the baseboard. After all the caulking I replaced the toilet and the project was done. I was very happy with the results as it looks really nice. I took a picture that I will post but didn’t come out very good because of the light from the window. Cheri was busy with laundry and grocery shopping. She had to make two stops, one at Wal-Mart and the other at Publix’s to find what she wanted. She also had time to spend in her sewing room. On the way home I had to stop at Kathy’s dads house to turn on the water as Mike is having it power washed tomorrow. Cheri made New England clam chowder for supper. We also got more rain today, checked the gauge and received another inch. Thank you God for a very productive day.

Bathroom project done.

Cheri had her house work caught up so she could spend the day in her sewing room. I was back to working on the bathroom floor tiling project. Things went well for me today. I got the rest of the tile cut. Out of 33 tile only 12 of them didn’t need to be cut. Long story short all the tile is laid and ready for crout which I plan on doing tomorrow if the tile mastic has set up. At 4:00 pm the rain came before I got all my tools loaded in the truck. Needless to say I got pretty wet getting the rest into the truck. Before I left Tampa Bay country I had a toilet that was leaking and needed new parts in the tank. After that I headed for home. It rained so hard that all the ponds in the park where about to overflow and some of the roads outside the park where under water and all the ditches full. A little over a mile away it looked like it was only a shower as there wasn’t any water in the ditches. I got home at 6:00 pm and headed for the shower. Cheri fixed us breakfast for supper, had an omelet and English muffin with cherry jam. I checked the rain gauge here and only received a ¼ inch of rain. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Cheri was busy with Tuesday house work, spending time in her sewing room, going to the bank, and doing some shopping for a new bird feeder that was destroyed by the lawn mowing people. She also went the office in Grandma’s park as Grandma had gotten a letter from the office that she had to prove that she was over 55 years of age because she is living in a 55 plus park (I do believe she qualifies). I left at 7:30 am as I needed to make a quick stop at Lowe’s on my way to Tampa Bay country. My first stop was to change batteries in smoke detectors and then on to my tiling project. I had a good day but didn’t get as much done as I want too. Long story short it is going to take an extra day to complete the project. On the way home I made a stop at Barbra’s as she wanted to talk to me about the kitchen sink she is planning on buying and wanted to know if the one she wants was ok. So it was a little past 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri had supper waiting for me as I had called her when I was leaving Tampa Bay country. The hot shower really felt good as I was outside in the heat a lot today cutting tile. It was another mid 90 degree day and we did get rain today. I checked the rain gauge and we received another ¼ inch. I was surprised because over where I was working today I am sure that they got well over two inches. Thank you God for guiding through another day.

bathroom I am working on, you can see the new and old tile.

I had a really good day at work in Tampa Bay country. The project I started on today was to remove a one inch wide tile strip from a bathroom tub shower and replace it with a different color of tile. I had done this to the master bath shower before and was a really hard job getting the old tile out. But today things went really smoothly as the old tile came out easily. I got the new tile in and is now ready to grout. Next I remove all the baseboard and molding from the bathroom floor getting it ready to put down new tile. I also got a call that a party in our park that had a broken sink drain and wanted to know if I could fix it. I told them it would be late this afternoon. I arrived at 5:00 pm to check it out. The wife had dropped an earring in the sink and went down the drain and the husband took it apart to get the earring and broke the drain. I had to go to Lowe’s for the parts. Long story short I was done and home by 6:30 pm. I was really dirty from all the tile dust so I headed for the shower. Cheri spent the day in her sewing room working on a new quilt project. She also made a ham casserole for supper. By the time we were done eating and ready for an evening of TV it was already 7:30 pm. No rain here today but this evening I could see it was dark in the east with lighting. Thank you God for a great day.

Grandma went to church with us today. Pastor Randy is on vacation so Pastor James (student pastor) delivered the message today. He is new in our church and this was his first time delivering the message and was very good. In Sunday school we did the last lesson in 2 Samuel. Next week we will be in a new study guild doing Galatians. It was Cheri’s turn to provide brunch for the Sunday school class and was stressed about it but all went well. This afternoon we met Mike and Pam over at their new house to see if the rollouts I am building are going to fit. Well it was a good thing I checked as I forgot to allow for the extra door hinge width that we didn’t have on our cabinet when I made the rollouts. Now that I have the final measurements I will build one for each opening and then see if they fit. This evening we had pizza for supper and watched a couple of movies we had recorded. Yes we got more rain this evening. I checked the gauge and we received a little over half inch.

Once again being Saturday Cheri and I went to the Donut Hole for breakfast and coffee. I had the closet project to work on today over in Tampa Bay country. First I assembled the unit I bought at Lowe’s. I cut a piece of 3/16 plywood for the back to give it extra strength. I had to cut a section out of the mopboard so it would fit tight against the wall. Then a few screws in to wall to keep it from moving and falling over. Then it was time to start the install of the wire shelving. I only got one of the four done that needs to be installed as I needed some additional shelving parts. So I was done for the day. I made a quick stop at Lowe’s to check on an idea I have to stop the rain from coming on Judy’s new gazebo which I think will work. When I got home I went across the street to check out another project of installing a new bathtub surround. It was 4:00 pm when I got in the house. Cheri had been busy all day making chocolate chip cookies and chicken salad for sandwiches to take to Sunday school tomorrow. She did work some this evening in the sewing room while I watched the Packer game I had recorded. Then we watched couple of shows we had recorded. We also got some more rain this evening but probably only about a ½ inch. When I came back today I took a picture of our holding pond to show how much water is in it and the picture turned out to be pretty with the clouds reflection in the water. Thank you God for the day you blessed us with.

It’s Friday which means breakfast and Bible study with my accountability group in Dade City at 6:30 am. Today we studied Romans Chapter five, lots of good information. When I got home I cleaned out the bed of the truck and repacked my tools and got things I needed for today. My first stop was at Judy’s to fix the roof rain water to divert it away from the gazebo. Well what I had didn’t work so it is back to the drawing board for another idea. From there I headed over to Tamp Bay country to repair a closet wire shelving unit that fell off the wall from being overloaded. After getting everything out of the closet Don, De, and I spent time coming up with a plan for the way they want it reconfigured. Which means a stop at Lowe’s on the way home for materials. I also stopped to see Bob Conover who had neck surgery. He seems to be doing well with the neck healing. I was back home by 4:00 pm. Cheri was working in her sewing room on a new quilt project. We had planned on going to Sam’s Club tomorrow but I will once again will be working on Saturday so we decided to go this afternoon. After we got done at Sam’s Club we stopped at Culver’s for supper and had the kid’s meal again. It was 7:00 pm when we got home. I headed for the shower and then to the recliner where Cheri and I watched a movie we had recorded. We also got more rain this evening and received another inch of rain. Our catch pond for run off as the most water in the five years we have lived here. Thank you God for a great day.

I set the trap again last night and this morning I had possum in the trap. So I had to make possum run out into the country side. It was back to work at Barbra’s installing a light fixture, repair the bedroom door, caulking around the backsplash, and remove some old caulking from another counter and re caulk. I have done all I can for now as I have to wait for the guy to refinish the counter tops, then I can finish the caulking between the counter top and backsplash. It was around 3:30 pm when I got home. I needed to get the truck repacked for tomorrow but didn’t have the energy to do it. I figured a hot shower and relaxing in the recliner was more to my liking. Cheri was busy with laundry this morning and then spent the day with Lee, a church friend. She wanted to see Cheri’s quilts and then went out for lunch and Dade City with some shopping at the quilt shop. This evening we got another rain storm and received over 2 ½ inches. We tried to watch some TV this evening but both fell asleep watching a movie we recorded. We decided to go to bed and watch TV there and if we fell asleep we would already be in bed. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I started work at 8:30 am at Barbra’s installing cabinet doors with new hinges and pulls. I had 21 doors to do and figured that I would be done around 2:00 pm. All the hinges has to be pre drilled and a couple of doors had to be redone in order for them to fit. Will my 2:00 pm deadline turned into 4:00 pm. although I did take a half hour to go home and meet the lawn mowing supervisor as the last time they mowed they knocked down the bird feeders and broke both feeders. He is going to repair one and is going to pay for one new one. I was tired when I got home but told Mike and Pam that I would have the shelves ready for them today. So I went to work and got them cut and then Cheri and I took them over to their place. We visited for a while and then went to Culver’s for supper. Mike and Pam said that when they go they get the kids meal. So that is what we did. We each got cheese burger, fries, drink, and ice cream all for $5.50 each. It was after 7:00 pm when we got home. I was ready for my shower and felt better after getting cleaned up. I got a call this evening from a lady in Wisconsin and she is coming down for a week to go over a bathroom remodel she wants me to do before they come down in October. Cheri was busy with her Wednesday house work, cleaning up her sewing room, baking bread, and cookies. Thank you God for helping us through another day.

The first thing I did today was take the cat I caught last night for a ride. I dropped it off at the same place as the last one, maybe he will find his friend that I dropped off last week. At 9:00 am I stopped by Barbra’s as she wanted to show me the cabinet hinge and wanted to know it was the right one to replace the old ones which it was. So tomorrow I will be installing the cabinet doors along with some caulking and patching a hole in the wall. The rest of the day was spent on the kitchen rollout project. Mike and Pam came over late this afternoon with a shelf from the bedroom closet unit and then we went to Lowe’s to get shelving material so I could make some additional shelves for the unit. Cheri was busy catching up on house work and ironing that I kept her from last week helping me. We didn’t get and rain here but just north of us must have had a pretty bad storm as it was really dark and could hear the thunder. The evening was TV which wasn’t that good as we didn’t have any shows recorded. Thank you God for working with us today.

I had a 9:30 am appointment at Rick and Gloria’s to help Rick get the canvas removed from the garage opening so he could get the motorhome out. He doesn’t have much room to maneuver getting it out so helped getting it backed out of the garage and then power restored to it. On the way back home I stopped by Judy’s to see about a plan to divert the water off the house roof away from the gazebo Cheri and I put up. After I got home I called Mike and he met me at Lowe’s to get the materials I need to build the rollouts for the kitchen and bathroom of their new house. So after lunch I started on the rollout project. I was done for the day at 4:00 pm, really hot and sweaty and ready for a shower. Cheri worked in the sewing room today and finished the prayer quilt project, looks really nice. Cheri had a new recipe for the glazing on a ham she cooked in the oven for supper along with some more corn on the cob. We had another pretty hard rain with lots of thunder and lightning come through around 6:00 pm. Checked the rain gauge and received a little over 1 ½ inch. This evening I took ham scrapes and bated the trap and by 7:00 pm I had caught another cat which makes the third one. It was another evening of TV shows we have recorded and are now all up to date, time for Cheri to find some more movies to record. Thank you God for another blessed day.

Our Sundays are always pretty much the same. Grandma went to church with us today. Pastor Randy’s message was titled “What’s the role of the Holy Spirit and baptism in salvation”. From the book of Acts 19:40-48. We are still in the book of 2 Samuel for Sunday school. It was near 1:00 pm when we got home. The rest of the day was being lazy reading, napping, watching TV. This evening I tried to watch the Green Bay Packers preseason game but ended up going to bed before it was over. I did record it so will finish watching it tomorrow. We had a strong rain storm with a lot of lighting and thunder plus some wind come through around 6:00 pm and was still raining some when we went to bed. Checked the rain gauge and we received just under two inches. Thank you God for time spent with you and Christian friends.

Cheri and I were at the Hole in One donut shop around 7:30 am. After our usual breakfast we made a stop at Larry and Denise’s house to check and everything looks good. I had a 9:30 am appointment over in Tampa Bay country to replace a garbage disposal and reinstall a water hose rack. I was back home by 12:30 pm. Cheri was working in the sewing room on the prayer quilt. All that she has left to do is the binding. This afternoon I install two ceiling fans. Normally it takes about an hour for each fan. But today I had one that just didn’t want to go together without a lot of extra work. Long story short it was 5:00 pm when I got done. When I stopped at the post office to pick up our mail a car pulled up and wanted to know if I installed kitchen backsplash. So I followed them home to see what they have and now looks like I will be installing another kitchen backsplash in two to three weeks. It was near 5:30 pm when I finally got home. Cheri had supper ready to go on the table so waited until after supper for my shower. I tried to watch the NASCAR race this evening but ended up recording the last half to watch tomorrow. Thank you God for a blessed day.

My day started early as I left the house just past 6:00 am headed to Dade City for my accountability group Bible study and breakfast. Today we studied Romans chapter four, good stuff. I was back home by 8:00 am. I got cleaned up and ready for my 9:30 am appointment over in Tampa Bay country to see about building shadow boxes above kitchen cabinets. I took measurements and will build them at home and do the install the first part of November when they return from Virginia. My next stop was to check on replacing floor tile in a bathroom, checking a leaking garbage disposal, and a hose rack that has come off the wall. So tomorrow I will be installing a new garbage disposal and reinstalling the hose rack. I was home at noon in time to have lunch with Cheri. She just had gotten home from getting medicine and groceries for Grandma. After lunch I went over to check on a problem Jean was having with her car. It turned out to be a bad tire. So I took her car over to Wal-Mart to have new tires installed on the front of the car. Cheri picked me up and we went to the strip mall where Ollie’s and Harbor Freight are. Cheri wanted to go to Ollie’s and me to Harbor Freight. When we got home I wanted to clean out the truck but was too hot out in the sun, 97 degrees and humid. So we both spent time reading our Sunday school lesson and then a short nap. Later I took Jean over to Wal-Mart to get her car and then I went to get a haircut. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri fixed us a ribeye steak and corn on the cob for supper. The evening was spent watching TV. Thank you God for a wonderful day.

Once again Cheri and I went out for breakfast at the Hole in One donut shop. At 8:30 am we were back at work on the gazebo project. Things went smoothly and was able to finish the project by 3:00 pm. When we got home Cheri headed for the shower and I unloaded a lot of the truck so I could put the cover down and lock it. Then it was my turn to have a nice hot shower. I called Mike to see if they were home so I could go up and repair the leg on their couch which had come apart. The repair went well and now is as good as new. Sat down and had a visit with Mike and Pam about their new house that they will be closing on next week. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home. Cheri fixed us leftover roast beef, potatoes, onions, carrots, and gravy for supper. We settled in for an evening of TV watch some of the summer shows we had recorded. Around 6:00 pm we had a hard rain come through a couple of different times. I check the rain gauge and we received almost ½ inch.

The project is done.

Once again I took Cheri for breakfast at the Hole in One Donut shop (I had been calling it the Donut Hole). While we were having coffee we got a call from Pam and Mike volunteering to go to Lakeland to get the anchors I needed for the gazebo project. I told Pam I would stop at Lowe’s and get one and send her a picture so she would know what kind to get. Well when I was in Lowe’s I figured out a way to do the project with the anchors they had in stock. Thanks Pam and Mike for offering to get them for us. Today we worked on getting the roof installed and fasten down plus getting the anchors installed in the concrete. The directions said that we needed four people to install the roof but once again I am here to tell you Cheri and I did it without any additional help. It wasn’t easy but we managed to get it done. At 3:15 pm we were at a good stopping point so we cleaned up and headed for home. Before we left this morning Cheri started a beef roast with onions, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot to have for supper and it was really good. Thank you God for blessing and guiding us through another day.

Cheri and I were at the Donut Hole for breakfast before 7:00 am. Then it was back to work on the gazebo project. We got all the post positioned and braced. Then it was time to put the roof panels together. It was 3:30 pm when we came to a stopping point and was 4:00 pm by the time we got things cleaned up. I dropped Cheri off at home and I went to Lowe’s to get anchors to fasten the gazebo post to the concrete slab. No luck in finding what I needed at Lowe’s and then headed to Home Depot and also didn’t have enough of the anchors. I was very frustrated and just came home. Probably will have to make a trip to Lakeland or Wesley Chapel to find the anchors I need. Really need them tomorrow because after we install the roof it would be acceptable to wind that could blow it over. It was near 6:00 pm when I got home and Cheri had supper ready for us. After supper I headed for the shower to get cleaned up. It was another short evening watching TV as we both were napping and decided to call it night. Thank you God for your many blessing and guiding us on the gazebo project.
The post are placed and braced.

Cheri and I were a team working on building a gazebo for a church friend Judy Clark. We started at 8:30 am. The project is like a big erector set. Cheri was busy reading the directions, finding the right pieces to put together, and laying out all the screws and bolts for each part. There was a part of the project that said we needed four people to get it done, well I am here to tell you Cheri and I were able to do it by ourselves. A really hard rain came at 4:00 pm which ended our day which was ok as we were about ready to quit for the day anyway. Well when we got back to town it hadn’t rained here. We stopped at Arby’s for their new BQ Rib sandwich. It has been about five years since we have been to an Arby’s and after today I remember why we haven’t been there, not good. When we got home we both showered and Cheri even did a load of laundry and I did some computer work. Then we headed to the recliners for an evening of TV which didn’t last long as we both fell asleep during the movie we were watching. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

Grandma went to church with us today. Pastor Randy had a good message today from the book of Acts. As always Charlie did an excellent Sunday school lesson. We did a lot of visiting before and after Sunday school which is always a good time. This afternoon I wanted to get the truck cleaned out and ready for tomorrow but was too tired to tackle the job. I napped while Cheri watched a movie and then I watched the rest of the Packer football game. I also watched the NASCAR race while Cheri read and napped. We had usual Sunday evening pizza for supper and more TV. Thank you God for time spent with you and Christian friends.

It was a good day and got a lot of things done. Cheri and I were at the Donut Hole before 7:00 am. We had finished our breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll and was on our second cup of coffee when Mike and Pam came in. We had a good visit with them telling us how things are going with their new house. They were interested in Larry and Denise’s couch and love seat that they want to sell so we took them over to look at it. I had to hustle around as I had an appointment at 9:30 am over in Tampa Bay country to do an install of a new toilet water valve and wax ring. Then outside to install a new main water shutoff. Then next to check out an electrical project of installing a new outlet for a deep freeze. My last stop was to hang a new light fixture outside the front door entry which was 14 feet high. I managed to get my extension ladder inside and then by turning around backwards on the ladder I was able to remove the old fixture and install the new one. I was back home by 3:30 pm. So it was another Saturday that I really didn’t want to work but was behind and needed to get caught up. After my shower I headed for the recliner for an hour nap before supper. Cheri headed out the first thing after I left to do some shopping and a trip to Wal-Mart. She also did more work on the prayer quilt. I feel like fall is just around the corner as I was able to watch some of the Green Bay Packer preseason football game. Thank you God for a blessed day.

I was out the door at 6:10 am for my accountability group breakfast and Bible study. Our study today was from Romans chapter 3, good stuff. I was back at work on the kitchen backsplash. I washed it down tiles again and polished them. We decided not to do any caulking until after the counter top is resurfaced and the painting is done. By doing this I will be able to get a nice clean caulk line. I made a trip to Lowe’s to get the new electrical outlets, switches, and cover plates. I changed the color to gray to blend in with the backsplash. Before I got done I had to take a break and go over to Mike and Pam’s new house to take some accurate measurements in order to make the cabinet rollouts. Then back to Barbra’s to finish the electrical and install a new piece of door stop. I am done with this project until the other work is done. It was 4:30 pm when I got home. I took a few minutes to rest before supper and after supper I went out to unload the truck and got things together for tomorrow. Then it was time for the good hot shower. Cheri was busy with laundry, Friday house work and then in the sewing room. The quilt she is working on looks really nice and all her own design. It was another evening of watching TV and some napping for me. Yes we did get rain again today about three different times. I never checked to see how much but if I had to guess it was probably around a half inch. Thank you God for a blessed day.

It was a good day. I continued working on the kitchen backsplash. I by 2:30 pm I had the grouting done. I still have to give it a good cleaning and polishing. Plus I still have to put in new electrical outlets which she wants to be gray to match the backsplash. After I got done with that I went up to Rick and Gloria’s to mow their lawn. Cheri thought that I would be back home right away as she said that it started raining here about ten minutes after I left. We didn’t get any while I was mowing, although it got very dark in the south and thought that it was going to rain before I got done. But God kept the rain away while I was mowing. It was near 5:30 pm when I got home. I was ready for the hot shower before supper. Cheri was busy today with laundry, going for a haircut, ironing, and still had time to work in the sewing room. We spent the evening watching some of the new summer shows. I had a bag of popcorn to help keep me awake while watching the shows. We got an inch of rain while I was gone mowing. Thank you God for everything did for us today.

The grouting is done

We are still having really hot weather in the mid to upper 90’s with high heat index. So glad I am working inside this week, only out to make tile cuts. So today it was back to installing kitchen backsplash tiles. I started at 8:30 am and quit at 12:15 pm to have lunch and get ready for a meeting at church with Pastor Randy and Jim Wilson. Jim and I have volunteered to do some repair work at church. Pastor Randy is going to put together a list of things that need to be done. It was a short meeting and was back to the tile project by 2:15 pm. I finished the tile install at 4:30 pm. Cheri had supper waiting for me as I was supposed to go out to Ron and Sandy’s to repair a broken water pipe in the attic. Ron called me around 3:30 pm and said that he had Jay (another friend) coming to do the repair. I was happy to hear that because I was really tired and ready for a good hot shower. Cheri spent most of the day working in her sewing room on the prayer quilt she is making. Barbra had Cheri over as she had some more paint samples and is now thinking about painting the kitchen cabinets gray and wanted Cheri’s input. It was a short evening for me trying to watch TV. I decided to go to bed early instead of napping in the recliner. Thank you God for a productive day.

It was back to work installing the kitchen backsplash. I really thought that I could get it all installed today but at the end of the day I was only half done. There was a lot more cutting than I thought I would have to do. I started at 8:30 am and worked until 4:30 pm. It was another hot day with the heat index over a 100 degrees which it has been for several days. Just happy that my work has been inside. Cheri did her Tuesday house work and made Lasagna for supper along with garlic toast and then watermelon afterwards. Barbra had Cheri come over late this afternoon to help her pick out the paint for the kitchen. Now that some of the backsplash is installed she is thinking about painting the cabinet gray instead of the white she was planning to do. This evening was spent watching some movies we had recorded. I see that football season is starting this Thursday night, probably won’t get to see any of the preseason Packer games. Thank you God for being with us today.

It was another very hot day, glad I was working inside. I picked up Barbra at 9:30 am and went to Lakeland to pick up the backsplash tiles and the rest of the materials needed to do the install. It was 11:30 am when we got back. I went right to work removing the old backsplash and preparing the walls for the new backsplash. I was done by 3:00 pm so came home and stocked the truck with the things I will need for tomorrow. Cheri worked on her quilt project along with her Monday house work. After supper I made a trip to Lowe’s to get a couple of things I need for work tomorrow. We also got a quick shower that didn’t last long but came down hard. Thank you God for a blessed day.

Grandma went to church with us today. Before church I met with Pastor Randy and volunteered to do some maintenance work at church. Strange how things come together because after Sunday school Jim Wilson not knowing I had volunteered asked to look at a church project that needed to be done. Jim wanted to know if we could do it. Well after checking it out we spoke to Pastor Randy and have a meeting set up for Wednesday at 1:30 pm. It was 1:00 pm when we got home and was time to rest and relax the rest of the day. I fixed a bag of popcorn and we watched a couple of movies that Cheri recorded. After the movies I watched the NASCAR race and got to see Chase Elliott win his first race, he has been my man since Jeff Gordon retired. Late this afternoon Pam and Mike came over to go over things they want me to do in their new house. I will be building the rollout shelves for the cabinets. They are excited about getting in the new house which they close on Aug 23rd. We had our usual Sunday meal of pizza for supper. We did get a little shower this afternoon which didn’t amount to much and it was another hot day in the 90’s. Thank you God for time spent with you and friends.

We were slow getting around this morning. It was after 8:00 am before we got the Donut Hole for our breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, and coffee. Grandma sent us a list of groceries and things she needed so we headed to Wal-Mart to get what she needed. After we got Grandma taken care of we headed out to Home Depot to check on cabinet rollouts. They didn’t have anything for kitchen cabinets. Mike and Pam are looking to have me install some in their new home. When we got home I started doing an internet search to see about ordering them off line. But after much searching and going over to Lowe’s to price the materials I can make them much cheaper than buying readymade ones. I also made another stop at Wal-Mart to get a couple more containers for the truck as I bought a new small vacuum for the truck and needed a container for it. I also bought a fan to use while working in the shop. I was going to do some work in the shop this afternoon but with the temp being 97 degrees I decided I didn’t need to be out there. Cheri spent some time in the sewing room but most of the day reading a novel. Cheri fixed us chipped beef gravy over scrambled eggs and toast for supper. The evening was spent watching TV. Thank you God for a relaxing day.

I didn’t have any work planned away from home today. It was time to get a few thing done here at home. The day started with my 6:30 am meeting with my accountability group for breakfast and Bible study. I was back home by 8:30 am. Cheri was just finishing her breakfast and coffee. She already had laundry going and planed on working in her sewing room. It was time for me to get the power washer out and tune it up. Went to Lowe’s to get some new power washer wand parts. The last couple of time I used it I had some leaks that needed to be fixed. Then I got it started and did some power washing on our driveway. I got it about half done and was too hot for me to continue. Cheri fixed us another bowl of clam chowder for lunch. I got a call from Barbra asking us to come over to check out the counter top colors and help her pick out a color that will go with the backsplash she picked out along with some paint samples. I made plans with her to go to Lakeland on Monday to pick up the backsplash and other materials needed to do the install. Later this afternoon we went to the 4:00 pm movie to see the new Mission Impossible Fall Out. If you like action this is the movie for you as it was nonstop action all the way through the movie. It was 6:30 pm when we got out and decided to go to Jersey Mike’s for a sub for supper. After we eat we stopped at Lowe’s to check out cabinet rollouts but they didn’t have any and was going to Home Depot to see what they have but decided to go home. We finished up the night watching TV. It was a day without any rain, just nice fluffy white clouds and sunshine (still too hot). Thank you God for a wonderful day.

I had a 9:00 am appointment over in Tampa Bay country to reinstall the attic fan with the new motor. I had to redo some of the wiring as the person who installed the fan had done a real crappy job. It was over 90 degrees in the attic before I got done. I was really hot and sweaty and needed to drink two bottles of water when I got done. When I got done a guy from down the street wanted me to stop by his place to check out replacing a screen in the lanai and replacing his attic fan that isn’t working. He is going give me a call in a couple of weeks. My next stop was to check out a leaky kitchen faucet which turned out that I had to make a trip to Lowe’s to get a new faucet. I had to turn the water off at the curb because the water shut offs under the sink didn’t work. My last stop was to change the battery in a smoke alarm. It was near 4:00 pm when I got home. I was very tired and ready for a hot shower and felt much better afterwards. It was laundry day for Cheri and then spent the rest of the day in her sewing room. She said that she wasn’t in the mood to finish the quilt project that she has been work on. So she has started something new. It was a day without any rain until later this evening and had a bad thunder storm come through, lots of lighting and thunder. Checked the rain gauge and we received only a ½ inch. Thank you God for guiding us through another day.

I want to wish Cheri which is the love of my life and my best friend a very happy birthday. I left the house at 8:45 am to go over to Rick and Gloria’s. I got the new drive belt on the lawn mower which went better than I thought it would. The lawn was too wet to mow so we worked on their motor home. The information computer wasn’t working and Rick had bought a new computer head and wanted me to install it. It turned out to be quite the job of getting the old one out and the new one in. Long story short it didn’t fix the problem. So Rick has made an appointment Aug 22nd to have the motor home serviced and the information center fixed. After I got done with that the lawn was dry and ready to mow. I wasn’t sure if I would get done before the rain came but just finished and had the mower back in the garage when it started to rain. It was 3:30 pm when I got home. Cheri said that it rained hard here before I got home. I got cleaned up and we headed to Lakeland so Cheri could stop at Jo-Ann fabrics to get the material backing for the quilt she is working on. Then we went to Texas Cattle Company for dinner to celebrate Cheri’s birthday. We had steak and lobster for dinner which was very good. We were back home by 7:30 pm. We watched a little TV before calling it a night. Thank you God for a blessed day.

This morning it was a quick stop at Lowe’s for some materials I forgot on my way to Tampa Bay country to work. I had four places to do plumbing work. The first place was to install new parts in the toilet and install a new water shutoff outside where the water comes to the house. After turning on the water to the house I checked the toilet and had a leak where the supply line attaches to the toilet. It turned out that the gasket was missing and was on the piece I took out. Then it was on to the next house to install a new outside water shutoff. When I went to do a test after the new install one of the coupling came apart. It was because I didn’t get the existing pipe cleaned well enough for the glue to adhere to the new pipe. Which was a big mistake on my part, lesson learned. I had two more places to do water shutoff but the thunder in the distance told me that I was done for the day. On the way home I drove through a hard rain storm. Cheri was busy with here Monday house work. She worked in her sewing room and now has the top of the quilt project done and now needs backing for it. She also went for visit next door to see Jean. We had a taco casserole for supper along with some chocolate chip cookies that Cheri made today. I checked the rain gauge and we received 1 ¾ inch. Thank you God for blessed day.
