Cheri Sept-13-12

There were more goodbyes this morning. Two groups of our caravan left before we were even outside. A few more will be staying at the campground and they all went fishing this morning. One rig moved to a nearby campground and was going into Anchorage to pick up friends and show them around before heading to Washington. One left to catch the ferry out of Haines.
Gay and I didn’t get on the road until 9:45am. When we reached Anchorage, we stopped into Sam’s for a few items and ended up having pizza for lunch there. We also needed to do some returns at Wal-Mart. It was just across the road. I went in to do the shopping and Gay sat in the truck and up loaded the pictures and blog from yesterday.
As we headed out of Anchorage we were back in the fall colors. The beautiful yellows and oranges would take your breath away. I took so many pictures; it will be hard to pick which ones we will post. We can’t get enough of the colors and the mountains.
We finally found a good pull-off for the night about 7:30pm. We were just south of Glen Allen. We traveled 349.7 miles today. This is a great day for such a late start.
