Cheri Sept-17-12

When we woke up this morning we found we had company. One of the couples from our caravan, Ron & Betty, had pulled in the wayside behind us. They offered to buy us breakfast, but we had already eaten. They wanted to thank us for the job we did as tail gunners. We visited for a bit and then they were on their way.
We pulled out at 8:30am. We were about 120 miles north of Dawson Creek—Mile O on the Alaskan Highway.
We pulled into a McDonald’s for coffee and to upload pictures & blogs for the last few days. We read Dick & Marie’s e-mail and saw they were at Mile O campground in Dawson Creek. We checked the campground out when we got into town just in case they would be staying there an extra day. They had already left.
We decided to get off the beaten path and follow the GPS directions out into the country on Highway 59. It was a good road and there were wheat fields for as far as the eyes could see.
It was a long day today. We drove into the night to reach the south side of Edmonton. We finally ended up in a pull-out barely off the highway. Lots of trucks pulled off also, it was very noisy and we didn’t get much sleep.
There are no pictures for today. We lost another hour. (Back on Mountain Time)
