Cheri is feeling miserable this morning all stuff up and put in a bad night. I am feeling much better but still doing a lot of coughing along with Cheri. Cheri was determined to get the tree down and all the Christmas decorations put away today. I told her we should wait another day until she felt better but she said we are doing it today. Who am I to tell her she can’t do something. By 2:00 pm we had everything put away and were ready for a rest. We even got a few additional things from the sun room stored away in the shed. Late this afternoon we made a trip to Walgreens to get some more cold medicine and vitamins, spent 60 plus dollars and I carried it out and a very small bag. Then we stopped at Sweet Bay for groceries that I didn’t get yesterday. We had clam chowder soup for supper, been on a soup and sandwich diet for the last few days.

Well this morning I feel pretty much like my old self; of course that’s not say much, still lazy. I was writing yesterday’s blog and Cheri comes out and looks at me and I know that look. She is sick and can’t talk and I know that I am the reason for it, just hope that I don’t get it again before she gets well. So it was just Grandma and me going to church this morning. When we got to church there wasn’t hardly anyone there and then I remembered that there was going to be only one service today and it started a half hour later, so we went and got a cup of Starbuck’s coffee for the sum of $3.40 and it wasn’t that good. Church was really good today. The young people (high school) did all the music and it was great. Pastor Earl (the young people Pastor) delivered the message today and it was one of the best messages of the year. There were only four of us from our Life Group in church today and Ron had a meeting after church so Grandma and I headed home. After I dropped Grandma off I stopped by Norm and Marlene’s as I have seen them for over a week. Marlene was excited to tell me that they have signed the contract on the new home and will be closing on it in February. On the way home I stopped and picked up a few groceries and the mail. We spent the afternoon watching movies and then late this afternoon it was time to watch the Packers play the Bears. A lot of mistakes were made by both teams and in the end the Packers did win.

We both slept in this morning and it was wonderful. I didn’t roll out until 7:30 am and Cheri was sometime later. So by the time we got around to face the day the morning was gone. Larry and Denise stopped by with the motorcycle wanting to know if we wanted to go to the outlet mall in Ellenton. We decided not to go and continue to rest another day. We did get the photo albums moved from the sun room to the shelves in the spare bedroom. It was fun looking through some of the albums before we put them away. It was also scary to see how much we have changed over the years. Because of the late breakfast we bypassed lunch but did have an early supper of pizza. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and recharging our batteries.

I think I over did it yesterday as I am not feeling as good as I did yesterday. I am doing a lot of coughing today. I think Cheri is feeling a little under the weather, never know for sure as she keeps it to herself. Cheri did spend most of the day shopping with Pam. I did try to go out and do some moving of things around between the sheds. Well that last all of about 45 minutes and I was done and had to come in and rest. It was near 3:00 pm before I took my shower and then still didn’t get dressed. I checked the e-mail this afternoon and there was an e-mail from Pam showing me a picture of a place setting. I just figured that they were rubbing it in as they were out to eat so I took a picture of my place setting and sent it back to Pam. Well I guess the joke was really on me because Cheri asked Pam to take the picture and send it to us as it is something she wants to make and that was the reason for the picture. We all got a good laugh about it. It was another long day for me, glad Cheri got a chance to get out and enjoy herself.

I am feeling much better this morning, just don’t have any energy. It was laundry day for Cheri and got a load started before she headed off to the pool. Cheri has been after me to put up shelving in half of the spare bedroom closet. She needs a place to store all of our photo albums. When Cheri got home and ready for the day we headed over to Lowe’s to get the shelving, no luck in getting what we wanted so we headed to Home Depot and found what we wanted. It was noon when we got home and found that I was wore out and needed to rest. After lunch and resting for an hour thought I would start installing the shelving. I got one shelve up and had to quit, broke out in a sweet and no wind. So I headed for the recliner for more rest. Around 2:30 pm I went back to work on the shelving and finished it round 5:00 pm. Cheri finished her laundry and rested as she had a really bad headache. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Merry Christmas to all, we pray that everyone had a blessed day. Our Christmas plans went down the drain as I am still not feeling well; better than yesterday but still have a long way to go. I did get up enough energy to take a shower just before noon and that was it for the day. Cheri took really good care of me. We spent the whole day watching Christmas movies. I did nap off and on so Cheri would have to catch me up on the show. We did get a call from our daughter Kari, nice to catch up on how she is doing. I also got a call from Ron checking in to see how I was doing.

Ok I didn’t get up until 7:00 am, feeling like crap today. I was back in bed before 8:00 am and didn’t get up again until 11:30 am. After Cheri got done with her pool exercise she went shopping for something she thought that I would like to eat along with all kinds of cold medicine and cough drops. When I got up she fixed me chip beef and eggs on toast, maybe I need to get sick more often (not). Cheri called Grandma to let her know we wouldn’t be going to church this evening. I spent the rest of the day in the recliner napping and watching some TV. Sure hope Cheri doesn’t get this. I don’t have any idea where I may have picked it up but have been feeling under the weather the last few days. Larry and Denise stopped over to invite us to their place Christmas evening to play cards, the way I feel now that’s not going to happen. Cheri also fixed a crock pot of cheese cauliflower soup for supper.

I am not feeling very good this morning got with beginnings of a cold. You know the kind that you feel like crap but not bad enough stop what you want to do. While Cheri was at the pool I measured up what we need in the spare bedroom to put selves in the closet. I got a piece of memory foam that we had on our bed in the 5th wheel. It was taking up a lot of space so I got it laid out to cut it down from a king size to a queen. That was when we got the e-mail from Larry and Denise asking if we wanted to ride the motorcycles up to Webster for the flea market. So that ended my foam project. The four of us were on the road by 10:30 am. Larry and I had been there a few weeks ago and Cheri and Denise wanted to go so this was their day. After we got done with the flea market we went over to the Haystack restaurant for their buffet, turned out to be a disaster as they were out of all meats except for chicken plus a lot of other things. We will not be going back there again. When we got home I didn’t feel like doing anything but had to finish the foam project. When we got done with that we went to pick up our van as it was done so they told me on the phone. He had a couple of minor things that needed to be done. So we will have to go back on a Saturday to have it finished. We dropped off Mike and Pam’s van. They have been so kind to let us use it for the last two weeks. Thanks Mike and Pam until you are better paid. We got home just in time to pick up Mike L and Mary and head to Dade City to eat at the Mexican restaurant, food was very good as always. Cheri and I split a meal and with the tip it was $11.00 for both of us. After we eat it was time to do the Church Street Christmas walk. The walk is along about 6 blocks that are close to traffic. There are five or six churches that is why they call it Church st. The entire houses are dressed and light up with every kind of decorations and lights. There were several places along the walk where you can stop and listen to live Christmas music. By the time we got done with the walk I was starting to feel pretty bad. But we did take a ride down on the south side of Zephyrhills to see a house and all the lawn light up and the lights were dancing to the music. We got home a little after 9:00 pm and Mike L and I still had to do security, it was a very long two hours for me. When I got home I told Cheri I was going straight to bed and would sleep in the spare bedroom so not to bother her.

Grandma didn’t go to church with us this morning as she was asked to go with the couple that she went with last week. Ed who hands out the programs in our church wanted to know where Grandma was as he always gives her a big hug when she comes. Pastor Stace gave a wonderful message; always look forward to when he is going to deliver a message. It was just Mike and Pam to go for lunch with us today. We wanted something light as we had a house warming to go to. So we settled on lunch at Fire House Subs. Ron and Sandy has their home all done and is having the open house today from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. After lunch we stopped to pick up a bouquet of flowers to take over to Ron and Sandy’s. We got to their place early so we could help them get ready for their guests. They had a nice turn out of friends that stopped by to see the house, Ron and Sandy had a lot of food for everyone. When we got home it was time to watch the Green Bay Packers play. I had the game recorded so I wouldn’t miss any of it, not a good day for them as they lost. The only thing that will help them now is if the Chicago Bears loose. I went to bed before that game was over. The weather was wonderful, sunshine and in the mid 80’s

Our warm weather is defiantly back as it was up to 83 degrees this today. We got a call from friends back in Wisconsin and said that it was 21 degrees and expecting 9 to 14 inches of snow tonight. They plan on coming to Florida in February and spend a couple of days with us. Cheri is doing an exercise for her knee and I needed to help her with it. She learned about it from the lady that gave her the massage the other day, she thinks it is helping which is great news as she has been suffering. Cheri went to mail the last of the Christmas cards and stopped to see Jean Golden as they used to live in Baker Acers where we were and now have move to our park. I worked outside digging out some stumps from old plants that I had cut down yesterday. I had to quit half way through the job. I just didn’t have the energy to finish and had to come inside and rest for a while, the resting turned into a nap. After the nap I went back out and finished the stump removal. With that done I was finished for the day and was ready for the recliner again. I am beginning to relies I can’t do the things that I used to do. Cheri spent most of the afternoon reading a new book that Pam gave her for Christmas.

The weather was much better this morning as it was in the low 50’s. Cheri’s pool exercise had been canceled the last few days because of the cold weather. Well this morning she wasn’t gone long. She said that the water was too cold and that they sat in the hot tub for a while. Cheri finished up the Christmas cards and updating her address book. I worked outside and unpacked another tub of my tools that I had in storage. I found some tools that I forgot that I had and also more duplicate tools. So I will have some more things to put on the yard sale they have here in the park in March. I also worked on cutting and cleaning up an old flower bed behind the house that looked really bad. Cheri came out and helped me pick up the stuff I cut down. I also did some more power washing on the house; I now have the shed done. I was really bushed by the time I done and sat down and rested. Cheri had some hamburgers and pork chops out for me to grill for supper and a future meal. It has been a while since we have had anything on the grill and it was a treat. This evening Mike L and I had security starting at 9:00 pm. Well it only lasted for about 45 minutes as the golf card ran out of power. They have been having problems with it and they thought it was fixed; it will need to go back to the shop.

It was a few degrees warmer this morning, still jacket weather this morning. Later this afternoon it was really nice with lots of sunshine. I had to get around an hour earlier this morning as Mike G picked me up at 7:30 am to go to Webster for breakfast at the Haystack restaurant. Mike and Pam were there on Monday and had left a Christmas present there. So that was the reason for our trip, to pick it up. I show Mike a few back roads on the way home. I was back home by 10:30 am. Cheri was already gone for her massage in Wesley Chapel and to do some shopping. I actual felt like doing some work outside. I did some cleaning and rearranging of the things in the shed and got things put away from the yard sale. Then I worked on the motorcycle put the old air breather back on the bike as the new one I had installed made the bike run too lean, didn’t want to take a chance of burning a hole in a piston. Cheri got home around 1:30 pm wanting to know if I had anything for lunch, I told her no, as I had a big breakfast and didn’t need any lunch. Cheri went to work on doing laundry and house cleaning. My next project was to take the pressure washer apart again and found the gear box was empty. I added oil and got it working again and was able to finish washing the drive way before it quit again. This evening we were invited up to Mike and Pam’s for supper and cards along with Larry and Denise. Ron and Sandy were also there. Pam had made broccoli cheese and vegetable soup along with three different kinds of sandwiches, hot beef, chicken salad and chicken salad with grapes. Pam made a chocolate dessert (no calories) and Denise had made a French dessert. Then we played a new card game that Mike and Pam taught us called golf. It was a fun game with lots of laughs. What a wonderful way to end the day with close friends. Thanks to Mike and Pam to make it all possible.

The temp was in the high 30’s this morning, our coldest day so far. Mary called Cheri this morning to cancel the pool exercise. It was also very breezy outside. Just another reason I didn’t need to go anywhere. I had a motorcycle ride scheduled for today and yesterday I sent an e-mail canceling the ride. There are too many nice days coming and no need to suffer a ride on a day like this. Cheri and I just relaxed and watched TV all day trying to catch up on the shows we have recorded, still two and three weeks behind. We had to go to Wal-Mart to pick up medicine and groceries for Grandma. We waited until after 7:00 pm because we didn’t want to face the daily crowd. Well it didn’t work as there were still a lot of people, the parking lot was over half full of cars. By the time we got done and back home it was after 8:30 pm. I am still waiting for our van to get repaired, turned out to be a bigger job fixing the oil leak. Sure is nice of Mike and Pam to let us use their van.

It was another cold morning, Mary and Cheri called off the pool exercise this morning. I turned up the heat and we each had some extra coffee. Cheri was busy getting things ready for the quilt gathering here. I took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment and then to the bank. On the way home I stopped at the grocery store to get a few groceries we needed today. It was 1:30 pm by the time I got home. The quilters were busy at it (mostly gossip). Norm was waiting for me to get home so we could visit. I made myself a sandwich and sat and visited. A while later Mike L came over. Cheri had started a pot of chili for supper. So after the girls got done with their quilting for the day we all sat down to have Chili, cheese and crackers for supper. It was something good to have on a cool day. After everyone left we settled in for the evening. Around 7:00 pm we heard Larry and Denise drive in. They stopped by to tell us about Larry’s brother in law who has cancer and they found out today that he is in very bad shape. So they are leaving tomorrow morning and heading back home to be with him.

No we really didn’t have snakes for supper last night. It was a spelling error as it was supposed to be snacks. It was 45 degrees this morning which is cold for us here in Florida and I know the rest of the country isn’t feeling sorry for us. Anyway it was a down day for me. Cheri went for her pool exercise and said the water was on the cold side so after they got done they sat in the hot tub for a while. Cheri finished her Christmas cards this forenoon and took them with her to mail on her way to the dentist office to have her crown put in. She was supposed to have it done last week but they called and canceled her appointment as the dentist was sick. I worked on computer stuff this forenoon. Early afternoon Mike and Marry came over to pick up the grill that we were going to sell on the yard sale. I helped Mike load it in the truck and rode over with them to help unload it. Later this afternoon I sat down and watched the movie Lincoln. We went to see it in the theater and I fell asleep watching it. Mike and Pam had purchased the movie and let us have it to watch. I tired two other times to watch it and fell asleep. It is a very slow movie but very good and educational and today I watched the whole movie. If you are a history buff get the movie and watch it.

Yesterday I asked Mike G if we could use their van while ours is in the repair shop. We were going to church with Mike and Pam so they brought the van with them this morning when they picked us up. We went to the Family Worship Center in Lakeland for their Christmas Experience. We met Mike and Pam’s family and friends at church. The Christmas show was wonderful, my favorite part was the children singing and acting. After church eight of us went to Olive Garden for lunch. When we got home we rested this afternoon and got ready to go to the First Baptist Church in Dade City for their Christmas Experience. It was another wonderful presentation. It was near 8:00 pm when we got home and just had some snacks for supper. Then I was ready to watch the Green Bay Packers that I had recorded. Well I didn’t have the recording as it was blacked out on the NFL Ticket because it was on the local station, my fault for not checking closer when I set up the recorder, from what I could find out it was a great game that the Packer won. So we settled in and watched the last episode of Survivor, no surprises. All in all it was a wonderful day we spent with friends and worship with God.

Cheri and I were up before 5:00 am as we had the yard sale in Baker Acers. Larry came around 6:15 am to help me load the truck and we were on our way by 6:30 am. People were already coming around to buy things before we got everything set up. It turned out to be a good day for us as well as Mike L and Mary; they sold their park model yesterday. We sold most of the stuff we had and what we brought back will go on the March yard sale here in our park. It was 1:30 pm by the time we got everything put away and had a lunch of left over pizza. Cheri drove Larry and Denise’s truck back to their place and I follow with the motorcycle to pick her up. We visited a little while with them and then headed home. We were tired and ended up taking a nap. This evening was our Christmas dinner at the Club house. It was put on by the park managers. Everything was catered in; all we had to do was show up. The dinner consisted of ham, seasoned potatoes, green beans, and salad. Dessert was hot cherry cobbler with ice cream. There were a lot of door prizes and music by a couple from the park manager’s church. What a wonderful way to end the day that God made for us.

Friday the 13th, do I get out of bed or stay in bed all day? Well we got up and met the day head on. Cheri had to walk for her exercise class because the van is in being repaired. It was supposed to be done by noon, so I called around 1:00 pm and it wasn’t done and as to have more work done on it and probably won’t be done until Monday or Tuesday. Mike L came over and helped me load some things for the yard sale and also some from their place. We made a trip over to Baker Acers with one load. Cheri finished getting everything the wants to sell and I worked outside getting what I need to take over. Larry and Denise picked us up at 4:45 pm and we headed to do the Walk through Bethlehem at the Richland Baptist Church. Cheri and I have done the walk many time and always enjoyed it, it was the first time for Larry and Denise. After the walk we went to Pizza Hut for supper and then to Larry and Denise’s to play cards, Larry and I were the lucky ones tonight. We took Larry and Denise truck home and will use it to haul the rest of our stuff to Baker Acers for the yard sale.

I had a 9:00 am appointment at the Harley Dealer in Lakeland to have my bike put on the dynamometer. I had put on a breather to get more air to the engine and want to be sure that it wasn’t running too lean. Larry said he would ride down with me and came over at 8:00 am. We had been over to their place last night and Larry saw a large amount of oil from our van on their driveway. We checked the van before we left and sure enough it was really leaking oil now. I told Cheri she would have to walk down to the pool for her exercise class. On the way down to the Lakeland I remembered that Cheri had an appointment this morning so I called Denise to have her take Cheri for the appointment. I did find out that my bike was running too lean and it was going to cost me too much to have it corrected, so I will be putting the old air breather back on the bike. When Larry and I got home we check out the van and couldn’t see where the oil was coming from so I put more oil in and drove it to the repair shop. It was leaking from a different place than it was before. The van is getting to be a money pit; I hope the end is near. When we got back to our place Larry helped me clean the oil off the concrete, what a mess I had. Later this afternoon Mike L and Mary stopped by and picked up some of the things that we are putting on the yard sale in Baker Acers Saturday. Then it was time for Cheri and me to go and get haircuts. When we got home it was time to get ready for Mike G and Pam to pick us up to go out for supper at Arigato Japanese Steakhouse in Tampa. We had a Groupon for our meals and were very good. On the way home we stopped at Sam’s Club as Pam had a few things that she wanted to pick up. It had been somewhat a stressful day and we were both tired so we headed to bed early.

Today was a play day for me. Cheri work this forenoon on pricing things for the yard sale Saturday and then went shopping this afternoon with Denise. There were six of us on the motorcycle ride today. We left at 10:00 am and headed to Leesburg by way of some back roads. Larry had a 1:00 pm appointment to have a new tire put on his bike. So we rode up by the place that he was to have the tire put on. While Larry was getting the tire installed the rest of us rode over to Russell Stover Candies factory outlet store. We all had to try the samples and ended up buying some candy. Well we stopped by to check on Larry and they were already installing the new tire so we waited for him. Then we headed on up the road looking for a place to have lunch. I pulled into a Subway and when we got parked I see Larry wasn’t with us. John said that he got held up by a school bus. Well Larry didn’t know where we were as John was supposed to wait for him and then in return everyone else would wait until we all got back together. By the time I found out I was too late to flag Larry down has he went by. My bike was blocked in by the other bikes; I got my bike out and headed out to see if I could catch Larry. I went about ten miles with no luck. So I headed back to where the rest of the guys were and had my lunch. We continued our ride on to the Harley dealer in Leesburg. I thought that Larry would be there, but no Larry. When I got home I was telling Cheri what happened today and she said I needed to call Larry and I said no I need to go and see him. We had a quick bite to eat and then went over to see Larry and Denise. Larry was really upset with John because he didn’t wait like he was supposed to. It was a good day for the ride but Larry and I didn’t enjoy it because of what happened.

Cheri went for her pool exercise and I did some computer work paying some bills. I just finished up when Cheri got home. A little later it was time for me to pick up Grandma and take her for her doctor’s appointment. Cheri was working on getting things together for the yard sale Saturday. When I got back home Cheri was ready to go to the bank, Dollar Store, Post Office, Staples, and Sweet Bay. In between all that we stopped at Subway for lunch. When we went to the Dollar store which is across the parking lot from Wal-Mart and the parking lot was almost full, there was no way that you could get me to go there today. We also had planned on going to Public’s for our groceries but the parking lot there was also full, so we went to Sweet Bay and was better, not so many people. When we got home Cheri worked on one of her quilts and I worked outside getting a few things ready that I want to put on the yard sale. I also did some more power washing until the power washer quit. I guess I am going to have to break down and buy a new one. I was very tired again this evening, don’t know why I am so tired anymore. I went to bed early and it wasn’t long before Cheri came to bed.

I got a call last night from Mike T wanting to know if I wanted to take a motorcycle ride up to Webster for the flea market. Of course I couldn’t turn that down. What could be better than a bike ride and checking out the flea market? Mike also asked if Larry would want to go so I gave him a call and he said what time are we leaving and I told him 9:30 am. So at 9:30 am we were headed to Webster. Cheri worked on getting things around for the yard sale in Baker Acers this Saturday. We are going to take things over and place them out in front of Mike L and Mary’s place that they have for sale and they are going to have an open house. Well Cheri’s work only lasted part of the morning as she and Denise went shopping over to the Wiregrass Shops. We were back from the flea market by 1:30 pm. Larry and I had a sandwich and then change oil and filter in both of our bikes. That project took the rest of the afternoon. Larry also checked the rear tire and found some deep cracks in the tire so he made a call and has an appointment Wednesday to have it changed. Cheri and Denise got back while we were working on the bikes. They invited us over for supper and a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Larry and I finally got to win a game. One game was all we could handle as everyone was tired, well I was anyway.

We picked up Grandma and headed to church. It was good to get back to church after missing last Sunday. Pastor Dean had a good message. After Church seven of us went out for lunch at Sonny’s, we had a nice place to sit and visit as it wasn’t busy and was able to hear everyone. Pam and Michele got to talking about the life of Jesus’, I think I learned more from them then I did from Pastor Dean’s message. After we dropped off Grandma we stopped to see Norm and Marlene but they weren’t home. So we drove around were we used to have our 5th wheel parked and stopped see Lloyd and Lorraine. We had a nice visit with them and then checked on Norm and Marlene again and they still weren’t home. It was near 3:00 pm when we got home. I did some computer work and Cher worked on her pillow covers. Then it was time to sit down and watch the Green Bay Packers play the Atlanta Falcons in Green Bay. It was snowing some and the temp was 12 below. It was a must win for the Packers and they did pull it out by one point, a real nail bitter game. After Cheri got the pillow case done she watched the game with me along with playing on her I-Pad. Just watching the game made me feel cold and thought that if I would look outside I would see snow, and then the air conditioner kicked in and brought me back to real life.

We were slow about getting around this morning as we didn’t have anything going until 11:00 am. I m still sore from my massage (beating), but I was already hurting before the massage. Larry & Denise, Mike T, and Cheri and I left on the motorcycles heading to Sleepy Hollow for their $6.00 steak dinner along with bake potato and corn. It was a fun ride and Mike T had never been there before and had a good time. We got home around 3:30 pm and put on 111 miles. Larry and Denise came back to our place and we played Hand, Knee, and Foot. After the first game Cheri fixed a couple of pizzas for supper and then we play one more game. Cheri and Denise left the table very happy, Larry and I not as happy as it was the girl’s night. We did take a break to watch the space station pass over, only got to see it for a short time because it was partly cloudy. It was wonderful day in the neighborhood that God made for us.

Cheri had to cut her pool exercise short this morning as we had an appointment in Tampa 10:00 am with Direct Buy. They showed us how to find what we are looking for and how to find the prices and fill out an order blank. We defiantly can save some money but it does take some leg work on our part. On the way back we had to stop at the bank to make a deposit. While driving home I made a wrong turn and was just about to Baker Acers before I realized I was going the wrong way. I turned around and was heading in the right direction when Cheri says to me that we have to go back to the bank, she said I think I put the wrong number on the deposit slip. It turned out that she did make a mistake and got it taken care of. Yes we did go the right direction this time and was home at noon. I am starting to think it is scary to let old people out on the road. I had bought a groupon some time back for a couples massage and asked Cheri to check it out and sure enough it was ready to expire at the end of the month. So Cheri called and was able to get us in for the massage at 4:30 pm this afternoon. After lunch Cheri went to the sewing room, she is making Christmas slip covers for the pillows on the couch. I got the switch I ordered for my power miter saw today. I wasn’t able to get an exact replacement as they are discontinued and ordered one that I could modify. It took some work with the dermal tool to get it fit but I got it to work and now I have my miter saw to use again and only cost me $6.00, much better than throwing it away and having to buy a new one. The massages went well and Cheri felt really good afterwards and I was really sore in the shoulders as I was told that I had a lot of knots in the shoulders and she work on getting them out and said I would be sore for a couple of days. I thought that you were supposed to be relaxed when it was over. Mike L and I had security this evening from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, it was a quiet evening.

It was another perfect day temp wise as it was in the mid 70’s with lots of sunshine. I had to get around this morning because I had a 9:00 am eye appointment in Tampa. I took the motorcycle so Cheri could have the van to go down to the pool. Well I would have taken the motorcycle anyway. Cheri did laundry and cleaned house while I was at my appointment. It was near noon when I got home. After lunch I asked Cheri if she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride down to Lakeland. I want to see about getting the bike in to have it checked out after I installed the new air clean, may have to have the computer remapped. Before we eat we sent an e-mail to Larry and Denise to see if they wanted to go with us. Well a short time later we got a call from them wanting to know if I wanted them to pick up oil and a filter for my bike as they were at Lazy Days and were heading for the Harley dealer in Lakeland. Long story short we met them at the Harley dealer. I got an appointment next Thursday to have the bike checked out. Larry and I checked out the new bikes and show Cheri and Denise which ones we want and that Christmas was coming. The answer we both got was to keep dreaming. From there we headed over to Sam’s to get some new playing cards as ours are need to be replaced. Then a stop at Best Buy, Larry had a couple of things he wanted to check out and then to the AT&T store as Larry and Denise are having a problem with their phone, they may have to get a new one. Then it was time to head downtown to eat at Harry’s Sea Food Bar & Grille. It has to be my favorite place to eat. It was the first time for Larry and Denise and they thought it was very good. After we eat we sat outside and waited an hour for the Christmas parade to start. At 7:00 pm they shot off fireworks to start the parade. We could hear them but couldn’t see them because of the buildings. They only lasted six minutes. We watched part of the paraded and then decided to head home, way too many people for my liking. We got home around 8:30 pm, watched a little TV and called it a night.

It was a play day. Five of us left at 10:00 am for a motorcycle ride to Ocala. Cheri and Denise left the same time to go shopping. They were heading for Plant City to visit the quilt shop, let’s see I guess it wasn’t just visit, it was to buy some material. I am not sure where else they went or what time they got home. We guys had a good ride and put on 171 miles. We made a stop in Wild Wood at a used bike shop. Bud wanted to stop to check on a motorcycle trailer, something to haul is bike back to New York in the spring. We were surprised on how many used motorcycles they had for sale and some very good prices. Then we headed to McDonalds for a late lunch and then to the Harley dealer. From there we made a stop at the used bike parts place. Bud wanted a different gas cap for his bike and they wanted $50 for one at the Harley dealer and he was able to get a new a $15. Then it was time to head home, arriving around 4:30 pm. Cheri and I were both tired and didn’t even talk much to each other. After supper we watched a little TV and headed to bed early.

I see I got the wrong date on yesterdays blog.

When Cheri got home from the pool we headed to Wal-Mart to get groceries and a few other things. The place was packed with people, should have known better as all the snow birds are here now. It was around 10:00 am a bad time to be there. We will know better next time to go real early in the morning or late in the evening. By the time we got back home it was time for lunch. I did have some plans on what I was going to do today but knew I couldn’t do much because today is Cheri’s quilt gathering and I knew Norm and Mike L would be here so I couldn’t get much done. I did do some dreaming on how to put a closet in the kitchen for our shoes and coats. That project is in the future as we first have to get the washer and dryer in the house first. I showed Mike what I wanted to do and he thought that would be a good idea. Cheri, Denise, Mary, and Marlene had a good time working on their projects, also heard a lot of laughing coming from the sewing room. After everyone left I took the Motorcycle over to Baker Acers to se Lyn Green and let him know we would be riding tomorrow. He and Pat had made a trade for a motor home and have been working on it so he said that he couldn’t make the ride tomorrow. I see Bud was out cleaning his bike so I stopped to visit for a bit. He had gotten new mufflers put on today and they sound good. On the way home I stopped and fill the bike with gas so I would be ready for our ride tomorrow. We had leftovers for supper, watched some TV and called it a night.

It was an overcast day and never did see the sun, but was still a nice day with the temp in the low 70’s. We had a very productive day. As soon as Cheri returned from the pool I started working on the van. Saturday I picked up a new CV axel for the van and today was the day to get in put in. Larry and Denise came over and Larry helped me. When we got done we took the old axel back to Auto Zone and took the van for a ride, it did seem some better but still not to my liking so we made a stop at Tire Kingdom where I had bought the new tires back in June. I had them check the balance and rotate them. Now it drives much better. Then Larry and I went over to Airport Auto to talk to them about the oil leak that I still have but they were closed. It was after 1:00 pm before we got back home. Cheri and Denise were working on a new quilt project and did stop so we could have a late lunch. Larry and Denise are having trouble with their washing machine, so Larry and I went over to their place to work on the washing machine. We removed it and check everything out and couldn’t really find anything out of place because it really shakes badly in the spin cycle. Larry thought that it might have a broken spring but all was ok. Now we think it might be the timer unit that is bad. Before we got it back together Cheri and Denise showed up. Denise had a pot roast going in the crock pot for supper. We played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot while the potatoes and carrots where cooking. After supper we played one more game of cards and then Cheri and I headed for home.

Nikki was up at 4:00 am and Cheri and I were up at 4:30 pm. We were on our way at 5:00 am to take Nikki to the airport. It was hard to say goodbye as we don’t know when we will see her again. We were back home by 6:45 am and plenty of time to get ready and go to church but we were just too tired and decided to play hooky. Cheri did a couple loads of laundry and the second load didn’t spin out. We rung them out by hand and I checked the washing machine and found out that something broke in the transmission. We weren’t ready to buy a new machine at this time. We planned on getting a new washer and dryer sometime next year when we build a place in the house for them. Well I remembered that Mike L and Mary got one given to them before they bought their new house. So we went and talked to them and they gave us the washing machine, how nice is that. Mike L helped load it into his truck and bring it over to our place and helped unload it and put it in the shed. We moved the old one out onto the carport. I know someone who will come and pick it for nothing. With that done it was back to resting which didn’t last long because Larry and Denise came. They are having trouble with their washing machine. It is in the wall above the toilet and needed to build a platform to put over the toilet so he can slide it out to work on it. He thinks that one of the springs has broken on the tub as it is out balance when it spins. After we got the platform built we visited for a while before they headed home. Then it was back to resting and watching TV. We are trying to get caught up with the TV shows that we have recorded, having a hard time staying awake to watch TV anymore. Nikki called at 1:30 pm and said that she was in Milwaukee and that they were walking to the car, said that things went well.

We wanted to take Nikki to the flea Market so this morning we headed down to the Big Top flea market. The one we went to in Zephyrhills on Tuesday was a bust because it was raining and there weren’t many vendors. Well as it turned out the Big Top wasn’t much better. It used to be a good flea market but it has gone downhill, a lot of vacant booths. We came back home for lunch and then went to see Betty and visited with her for a while and then over to Grandma’s to play cards, also had Betty come over. We had fun playing cards and after three games it was time to head home. Nikki said her goodbyes to Grandma because it is her last day here. When we got home Cheri fixed us a hot ham sandwich and potato salad for supper. We watched some TV and called it a night early as we have to be up around 4:00 am to take Nikki to the airport in the morning.

It was48 degrees this morning much better then yesterday, hopefully better weather is on the way.  Cheri was back early from her pool exercise as she said the water was too cold; don’t think they had the pool heater working. I had a motorcycle ride planned for the day and was hoping for the temp to climb before we left and it did as it was up to 61 when we left at 10:00 am. There were six of us on the ride. Our destination was the Harley dealer in Clermont. We made our usual stop at McDonalds before we stopped at the Harley dealer. We rode 121 miles and got home around 3:00 pm. Cheri, Nikki, and Denise went black Friday shopping (they should call it red Friday because when you get home your pocket book is in the red). They got home about ten minutes after Larry and I got here. It was time for supper and Nikki had made a cherry pie this morning. Cheri and Nikki made turkey and dumping with fresh baked biscuits. I went and picked up Grandma and brought her over to our place for supper. At 6:00 pm we all loaded into the van and headed for Wiregrass Shops to see the Christmas tree lighting. On the way home we drove by a house on the south side of Zephyrhills to see all the lights that they have up. We dropped off Larry and Denise and then Grandma and were home by around 8:30 pm. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

Happy Thanks Giving to all you turkey lovers. I didn’t get up until 7:00 am and it was 35 degrees out, it is hard to get up when you can see what the temp is outside before you get out of bed. You know up north in the winter how hard it is to get a car started and going in the winter, well that was how my body reacted this morning. I went out to get the morning paper and just about strained my back as it was packed full of Black Friday ads. Cheri and Nikki spent the morning going through all the ads. We picked up Grandma at 10:45 am and headed to Golden Corral where we met Mike, Mary, Larry, and Denise for our Thanks Giving diner. We had to wait about 15 minutes in line as the place was already full of people as they had opened at 10:00 am. By the time we were done eating the line of people waiting to get in was wrapped around the building in the parking lot and no vacant places to park. When we got home Cheri did her weekly laundry and Grandma, Nikki and I watched the Green Bay Packers football game. Only thing was the Packers forgot to show up, it was the worst game I have seen them play in years. Cheri had put a turkey breast in the crock pot this morning so we had turkey sandwiches with gravy for supper. I took Grandma home around 6:00 pm. It was a nice day to spend with family and friends and stay inside as the high temp for the day was 60 degrees.

I got up at 6:00 am and then went back to bed until 7:00 am. I had one of those days that I didn’t feel like doing anything. I think the weather had something to do with it. I checked the rain gage and we got ½ inch of rain during the night. The high for the day was 64 degrees and that was when I got up this morning. After Cheri got home from her pool exercise she and Nikki headed out shopping for the day. I did go out and hung the four foot lighted Christmas reef and another small reef on the front door. It was near 4:00 pm when Cheri and Nikki got home. We had an early supper and then we played a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Cheri won. Cheri and Nikki started doing more decorating for Christmas; they also worked on the Christmas tree. It seems strange to have all the decoration as we didn’t do much the last eight years while we were RVing. Mike L and I had security this evening and he picked me up at 9:00 pm. It was 41 degrees and a stiff wind when we started. After an hour and a half we called it as there wasn’t anyone out and about, and we were really cold. When I got home Cheri and Nikki were just finishing decorating the Christmas tree. I was ready for bed and needed to get warmed up.

It was a cloudy all day and some rain this morning. After Cheri got home from her pool exercise we headed out to the flea market here in Zephyrhills. We got rained out but not many vendors, not sure if was because of the rain or that it is early in the season for this flea market. Then we went and delivered some storage tubs to Norm and Marlene. Then we picked up Grandma to take her for a ride with us to pick up Cheri’s quilt from the quilter. Then we headed to Plant City and stopped at Parkesdale Farm Market. This is the place that through the winter has the great strawberry shortcake. We did have strawberries and ice cream. Then we headed to Ron and Sandy’s to pick up the Christmas tree that they gave us (thanks Ron & Sandy). Then it was back to Grandma’s to play a game of cards. It was near 4:00 pm before we got home. So I spent most of the day being a chauffeur. Cheri and Nikki started putting together an egg bake for supper and I put the new Christmas tree together. About that time Larry and Denise stopped by to return the step ladder he was using to fix their refrigerator. They stayed and visited for a while. This evening we watched Dancing with the Stars. Cheri was very excited and happy with the results. It was raining when we went to bed and we also had a tornado watch this evening.

Nikki got a chance to sleep in this morning. We had her up early the last couple of days and she said that she was on vacation and should be able to sleep in. Cheri cut her exercise class short this morning because she had a dentist appointment at 10:00 am. She dropped Nikki off at Grandma’s to visit with her. I also had a dentist appointment at 11:00 am. I got there before Cheri got done and I was waiting for my appointment when she came out. She had lost a filling last Friday and they told her she needed a crown and could start on it right away. So that worked out as she got done getting a temp crown shortly after I was done. While I was waiting my cousin Rick came in, he had an appointment to have a permanent bridge put in. I had ordered a Papa John’s pizza to be delivered at Grandma’s at 12:30 pm. Papa John’s called 12:20 pm to tell me that it would be about ten minutes late and were true to their word. Grandma had made a cherry pie to have after the pizza. We played a game of cards and then headed home. I needed to work on the van. I took the brake light switch out of the van and couldn’t find anything wrong with it but decided to get a new one anyway. So hopefully that problem is fixed. Nikki helped Cheri decorate for Christmas. Larry and Denise came over, Larry was going to help me work on the van, we checked out the front end trying to find out where the vibration was coming from, I think it is a universal joint going bad. I guess I will take it in next week and find out what to do, I hate to put any more money in it as it is starting to be a money pit but don’t have the funds to replace it. I need to have a long talk with God about it. We watched Dancing with the Stars and Cheri was finally happy about the results.

We took Nikki and Grandma to church with us this morning. Pastor Dean had a good message on turning to God and how our church helps. After church there were eight of us that went to Olive Garden for lunch. We had a nice place to sit away from everybody so it was easy to visit. I was telling Ron that Cheri wanted to buy a Christmas tree and that we had to stop at Michaels to check out one that was on sale. Well it wasn’t what she wanted so we headed for home. When we got to Grandma’s we were going to play cards. First I wanted to go down by Bud’s to see his new motorcycle. On the way down Marlene flagged me down and wanted to visit. I visited for a bit and told her that I was on my way down to Bud’s and when we got done playing cards with Grandma we would stop for a visit. Bud’s new bike is really nice, a 2008 Harley Fat Boy. When I got back to Grandma’s they were already playing cards. Later we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s to visit. Then home so I could watch the Green Bay Packers which I had recorded. Cheri and Nikki were looking at recipes and making a list of things they needed. Cheri got a call from Sandy telling her that she and Ron had a new Christmas tree that was still in the box and that we could have it, how nice is that, Thanks Ron and Sandy. After supper we picked up Larry and Denise at 6:30 pm and headed to Lakeland Sam’s Club as they were having a special opening for VIP members. I couldn’t believe the mob of people waiting to get in. I was ready to turn around and head for home, but we waited and the line moved quickly and wasn’t that bad. We got a deal on a couple of things. The best deals were on electronics which we didn’t need. We were back home by 8:30 pm. I watched the rest of the Packer game in the bedroom while Cheri and Nikki watched a movie in the living room. It was a cool breezy day in the neighbor hood.

We met Mike and Pam for breakfast at the Village Inn at 8:00 am. They wanted to meet Nikki and this morning was the only time we could get together because they are leaving for Tennessee to be with their daughter and grandson for Thanks Giving. After breakfast they followed us back to our park to shop the Christmas Bazaar that was going on in the Club House. We said our goodbyes to Mike and Pam. Then we picked up Mary L and the four of us headed to Treasure Island to see the sand sculptures and visit all the vendors that where there. Then it was time to walk the beach and get our feet wet. When we got back to the car the battery was dead, the brake lights was stuck on again and had to get jumped (yes I will it fixed tomorrow). We drove north along the Gulf and stopped at John’s Pass so the girls could shop. I stayed in the van letting it run to charge the battery. I had a nice parking spot in the shade so I stayed cool without having to run the air conditioner. Then it was time to continue north and find a place to eat. Pam told us about the Sea Breeze restaurant, so that was where we stopped to eat. We had a wonderful meal and sat inside right by a big picture window so we could see the water. Thanks Pam for telling us about the Sea Breeze. We asked the waiter where we could get to the beach to watch the sunset and he told us to go north a few blocks and we would see a place where we could park and get to the beach. We found it without and trouble and only had to wait for about 45 minutes for the sun to set. I wasn’t looking forward to all the traffic to get home but it wasn’t bad and moved right along, was home by 7:30 pm. God blessed us with the most beautiful day for our outing.

Larry and Denise came over first thing this morning to put a few things in our freezer as their refrigerator quit working. Larry was going to install a new one but in order to get the old one out and a new one in you have to remove a window in their motor home to get it out. So he is going to look for parts and see if he can repair it. As soon as Cheri got home from her pool exercises we headed to the Tampa airport to pick up Nikki (our daughter). She is going to spend a week with us. Her plane was an hour late getting out of Milwaukee because of the snow and ice. It was almost 1:00 pm before we got home. We had a late lunch and then went over to spend the afternoon with Grandma. We played a couple of games of cards and then went out for supper at Maine-ly New England. We had the Friday night fish and Cheri had a coupon that saved us twelve dollars on the meal. We did have to wait about 45 minutes as they were really busy. You sure can tell the snow birds are back. We dropped Grandma off and headed home. We watched a little TV and called it a night.

Cheri put in a bad night and got up and did a lot of cleaning and then went back to bed. She said that she couldn’t get her mine to shut down. Larry came over early to help finish building the shelves. Cheri started laundry before she went to the pool and did two more loads after she got home. Then she went and picked up Denise and Grandma to go to Wal-Mart to get groceries. It was around 12:30 pm when they got home. Cheri and Denise got lunch ready and Larry and I were ready for a break. After lunch it was back to work on the shelving. We finished around 2:00 pm. I now have 30 feet of 24 inch deep shelves, 12 feet of 16 inch deep, and 9 feet of 12 inch deep shelves, a big thank you to Larry for all his help as I couldn’t have done it without him. Larry even helped me put some of the things on the shelves that were sitting outside. My next project in the shed is to paint all the shelving. After Larry and Denise left I spent more time organizing some of the stuff in the shed. I also put a new air cleaner on the motorcycle. It is a new style so the motor will get more air and is a match to the new mufflers I put on (more power). Neither Cheri nor I were hungry this evening so we just had an egg sandwich for supper. We tried to watch some TV, Cheri fall asleep right away and I had trouble staying awake so we headed to bed early.

Today was supposed to be a play day as I had a motorcycle ride planned but the weather didn’t cooperate as there were rain showers in the area. So I canceled the ride and asked Larry if he would help me build more shelves for the shed. Cheri and Denise went to Plant City shopping and I know they made a stop at the quilt shop. When the four of us looked at that house yesterday I saw how the guy had build shelves in his shed. I thought it was a great idea and so today Larry and I went to Lowe’s to get more building materials. Cheri and Denise got home around 1:30 pm so we took a break to have lunch. Then Cheri and Denise were out looking at houses here in the park. Larry and I continued to build shelves. At 5:00 pm we made another trip to Lowe’s for some additional materials. It was near 6:00 pm when we got back and being it was dark out we called it a day. We talked about going out for supper but Larry and I were too tired to go. Cheri and I had a sandwich for supper. Mike and Pam stopped by and dropped off some birthday cake from their grandsons birthday, so we each a big piece of cake while watching TV.

Larry and I had planned on going for a motorcycle ride today, but the weather didn’t look that good this morning. I really needed to get the big shelf in the shed built and the electric done. So when Larry and Denise came I asked Larry to help me in the shed. We got a good start and soon it was time for lunch. We had a sandwich and then back to work. Every Tuesday Cheri has the ladies over for a quilt gathering. Marlene couldn’t make it today so it was just Mary and Denise. Larry and I got done with the shed around 3:00 pm. Larry had a headlight burned out in his truck so we got the old one out and took the motorcycles to get a new one. It turned out to be a big job as Larry had to remove the battery to get the new light bulb in. When we were finishing up the shed work a guy came along and wanted to know about Larry’s motorcycle lift he has in his truck. While they were talking the guy was telling him about a place that was for sale here in the park. So Larry, Denise, Cheri and I went to look at it. It was really nice and for a good price but not big enough for Larry and Denise. Larry and Denise had us over for a spaghetti supper. Denise had homemade spaghetti sauce that she made this morning and had simmering in the crock pot all day, sure was good. We play one game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Larry and I won. This card playing is getting to be a real competition. So much so that Cheri and Denise took our chairs the last time we play at our place to see if it would help them win and they did win.

We got an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting to know if we wanted to go to see the sand sculptures at Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. I check it out on the computer and e-mailed Larry and Denise and said that we wanted to go and that we would pick them up at 10:00 am. So after Cheri got home from her pool exercises we headed out. We enjoyed the ride down and the sand sculptures were beautiful. I knew the Red Barn Flea market was some place in the area we were in so I asked for directions to it. Well when we got there it wasn’t open, it is only open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so we headed on home. We dropped Larry and Denise off at their place and told them to come over for supper that we would have the left over hamburgers from Saturday and I would also do some hot dogs on the grill. Mike G and Pam came over to get the bedroom set that we gave them for their daughter. After supper we played a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that That Denise and Cheri won, they beat Larry and me really bad. After Larry and Denise left we settled in to watch Dancing with the Stars, once again Cheri was really disappointed with the results. After having nasty weather the last few days it is nice to see a sunny day with no wind. Grandma went to church with us this morning. Pastor Mel delivered a very powerful message, wish I could have it to read so I could get more out of it. After church six of us went to Bob Evan’s for lunch. After lunch Cheri went shopping with Sandy and I took Grandma home. After I dropped off Grandma I stopped to visit with Ed and Loraine as they were sitting outside. My afternoon and early evening was filled with the NASCAR race and football. Cheri came home with several Christmas decorations.

It was wet drizzling day, one of those days that you don’t feel like doing anything (work). It rained all night and I didn’t see any need to get up early so I stayed in bed until 7:00 am again. Later this morning Cheri asked me if I wanted to go to Sam’s today and to e-mail Larry and Denise to see if they wanted to go along. They did so we picked them up and headed for Sam’s. It was around noon when we got there and I think Cheri had anterior motive, we got to taste a lot of different foods and that must have been our lunch. We dropped Larry and Denise off at their place to get their truck and then they were stopping at the grocery store to pick up some buns and a salad and then come to our place to play cards. We played one game of Hand, Knee and Foot and then took a break to grill some hamburgers to go along with the salad Larry and Denise brought. After supper it was time for more card playing. We played two more games of Hand, Knee and Foot. Larry and I won all three games. Yes Denise I have to put it in the blog that we guys won.

I didn’t get up until 7:00 am, put in a bad night and didn’t have to be anywhere this morning. Cheri headed to her pool exercise class at 8:15 am and when she got home I still hadn’t taken my shower and gotten dressed. It was near 10:00 am before I was ready to meet the rest of the world for the day. Cheri on the other hand continues to work in the house doing cleaning, laundry other things. Mike B picked me up at 12:30 pm and we went to the big car auction and swap meet at the Zephyrhills Festival Grounds. We walked through all the cars that were for sale by owner and then through all the vendors. We also went into the auction yard to see the cars that were going through the auction, a lot of very nice cars and it would have been easy to pick out several that I would be happy with. Mike B and I got a chance to talk and shake hands with Cindy Williams from the Lavern & Shirley TV show. Who would ever believe we would meet someone like that a car show. It started to drizzle rain so we called it a day, we did get to see most of everything. While we were at the car show I got a call from Larry and Denise telling us that they were here for the winter. So when I got home I called him back and Larry told us where they were staying and we headed over to see them. Good to have my riding partner back and Cheri to her quilting partner. After visiting for a while we headed to Del Caren Mexican restaurant in Dade City. Then we came back to our place so we could show them our new home and to play a game of Hand, Knee and Foot that Larry and I won. It was still raining when we went to bed.

It was 47 degrees and windy this morning, cold inside the house. I started the furnace for the first time and didn’t know if it would work or not as I didn’t check it before we bought the house (stupid me). Will it works just fine and it warmed up the house in a short time. Mary L called this morning and said that there wouldn’t be any pool exercise as Mary L has a doctor appointment. I think Cheri was happy that she didn’t have to go out in the cold but unhappy that she was not having the exercise. Cheri did some laundry and cleaning. I did some honey do things in the house (think I am just about honeyed out). This afternoon I made a trip to Lowe’s to get the materials I need to build the shelves in the shed. Ron called me and asked me to pick him up at home and take him to get his corvette as they have the work done and it looks like new. This evening we were invited over to David and Renea Harris to see their new home. We met them through the church. It was a nice evening visiting and we also met another couple from church. When we got home we watched a little TV and called it a night. It was a day of a little work and more of being lazy.

It was only 56 degrees this morning and very windy making it cold out. I had a motorcycle ride planned for today, but too cold and windy to enjoy a ride. Mike T called me this morning and wanted to know about the ride and I told him that it was canceled and we would go next Wednesday. With the van being in the repair shop I got the motorcycle out to take Cheri down to the pool. Well while I was getting it out my footing slipped and I once again drop the bike, that make twice in the last few days and all the years I have been riding it has only happened once before. I dropped Cheri off at the pool and road over to Baker Acers to tell John and Butch there wouldn’t be any ride today. On the way back I stopped and gave Cheri a ride home. The rest of the morning was spent inside cleaning up some paper work and watching some TV. Cheri disappeared into her sewing room. After lunch I called to see if the van was done and it was so I had them come and pick me up, ya we have transportation again. Last night Cheri couldn’t get the screen on her I-Pad unlocked. She handed it to me and I couldn’t get it unlocked either. So this afternoon we took a ride down to Brandon and stopped at the Apple Store. We felt pretty stupid as the guy gave the screen three taps and it was ready to put in the pass code. Somehow Cheri had change the setting on the screen lock without knowing it. So we got that feature turned off so it doesn’t happen again. We did a little shopping in the Mall and I bought a new Bible. I had been looking a long time for one like what Cheri has, NIV with red lettering and large print. After shopping we stopped at Olive Garden for supper, we split a meal and we both had all we wanted to eat. We had an appointment at Direct Buy to see what they have to offer and after listening to them and looking at the prices of things we decided to get a membership. It is pricey but with everything we plan on doing in the house we feel we will save a lot of money in the end. It was near 10:00 am by the time we got home and were ready for bed.

Mike G came and picked me up to go out for breakfast. We dropped Cheri off at the pool as the van is in the repair shop. Mike G and I met Ron at the auto body shop as he is having some touch up work done on his Corvette. Then the three of us stopped at Rick’s for breakfast, good meal for the price. We had a nice visit and then we took Ron home. Mike G and I went to his place as Mike G wanted me to drive his van. At times when you are driving it goes into a shimmy and doesn’t do it all the time. I think it is something with the transaxle but not sure. He does need to have the brakes replaced. When I got home I checked on Cheri and she was busy cleaning house, she has Marlene and Mary L coming over to do some quilting this afternoon. I worked on the power washer; I took it apart and cleaned everything in the pump. After I got it back together it leaked. So I took it apart again and while I had it apart Norm and Marlene came. So Norm watched me put it together again and it still leaked. I took it apart one more time and Norm looked at it and I had put it together wrong. Long story short, it is back together and works great but still has a little leak which is because of the rubber seals. Mike L showed up and we guys had a nice visit while the ladies were doing their quilting. The van was supposed to be done today and I called him at 4:30 pm and he said it wouldn’t be ready until tomorrow. We had a Life Group gathering this evening so I called and told them we couldn’t make it.

I pray that everyone said a prayer for or veterans and service men and women today, if not than take time now and do it as it helps our country to be free. Plus add them to your daily prayer list. Today was one of those days that you like to forget. It started when I got up this morning, I couldn’t seem to get my motor started. My first project was to fix the shelf in the shed that came down due to having too much weight on it. I got it back up temporary and need to get some new hangers for it (no it wasn’t one that I built). Then I cleaned the windshield and the bugs off the front of the motorcycle, while I was pushing it back into the barn the kick stand went up and I ended up dropping the bike. I had to get Cheri to help me get it back up. Then I checked the van and see it is still leaking oil and while trying to check and see where it was leaking from I found all the wires that go to the injectors had been cut and splice back together. One of the wires broke and I had a hard time trying to get reconnected. I had a lot of work done on the van a couple of years ago and that had to be when it was done, another reason why I don’t go to that place for repairs anymore. I took Grandma for her 1:25 pm doctor’s appointment and she got a got report. After I dropped her off I headed to the repair shop to get the van fixed. It was leaking oil from the valve cover gasket had was replaced last Friday. Apparently the gasket didn’t get seated correctly. I know that it something that can happen as I have changed them myself and know it is a tough job. They gave me a ride home and said they would come and get me when it was done. When I got home I decide to do some power washing on the driveway. I had a problem with the power washer the other day and thought it was the circuit breaker on the cord. Well it turns out to be something in the power washer, so much for power washing the driveway. I think God was testing me today; I did get a little depressed but never lost my temper. I didn’t see much of Cheri today as she spent most of the day in her sewing room working on a new quilt project with music playing, I could see she was enjoying herself. On a good note, this evening we went out to eat with Mike and Pam at Manolos Ristorante, another good meal. After we eat we came back to our place to play a game of Hand, Knee, and Foot. Pam and Cheri won as Mike and I couldn’t seem to get the cards. Yes it is Monday night and Cheri had to watch Dancing with the Stars and if you have been watching you know Cheri was upset with the results.

Our Sunday mornings are all the same. We picked up Grandma and head to church. After Church seven of us went out for lunch at the Village Inn. It has been a long time since we have been there for a meal and it was really good. We did go a lot over the last year but it was only on Wednesday night for their free pie. After we dropped off Grandma we took a ride around Baker Acers to see who all has arrived from the north. Then we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a short visit. When we got home we had just enough time to change our clothes and head to the theater to meet Mike and Pam to see the movie Last Vegas. It was a very good movie, usually movies that are this funny don’t have a good story line but that wasn’t the case with this movie. If you need a good laugh go and see this movie. It was near 4:00 pm when Cheri and I got home. I recorded the Green Bay Packer football game and the NASCAR race. I did watch all of the football game and it was a disappointing lost for the Packers. As for the race I just watched the highlights of it. Cheri watched some of the game and played solitaire on her I-Pad. Pam called to tell us about the JFK movie and high lights leading up to his death that was on TV, so I set up the recorder to record it. By 9:00 pm we were both having a hard time staying awake to watch TV so we called it a night.

Cheri and I went out to Golden Corral for breakfast; I think it is getting to be a Saturday morning habit. From there we went to Winn Dixie’s for groceries. They had a lot of buy one get one free, some are good buys but some were not when you check the price at other stores, but we did come away with what we thought was good buys. We were surprised how few people were out shopping this morning. When we got home Cheri had some more honey do jobs for me. This afternoon Cheri and I went for a motorcycle ride. It is the first time she has been on the motorcycle since March. She is still having problems with her knee but decided to take a ride. I can’t figure it out for some reason when Cheri is on the bike it goes to different places like quilt shops. We rode up to Dade City to the quilt shop as Cheri was looking for material for a sweat shirt project. She didn’t fine what she wanted there so we rode down to Plant City where she found the material she wanted plus extra for whatever else she may do. When we got home it was time for me to watch the Wisconsin Badgers football that I had recorded. Part way through the game I got a call from Mike L and he need help to get a 55 gallon fish tank. It was about all we could handle but did get it in the truck and then into their house. Then it was back to watching my foot ball game. It was a grand day that God provided for us.

After Cheri got home from the pool she worked on cleaning the house and doing laundry. She had a couple more honey do jobs for me. Late yesterday the new windshield for the motorcycle came. So today I spent all morning getting the hardware off of the old one and getting all the adhesive tape off it. This afternoon Bud and Joyce came over to see our house and to visit. They were just ready to leave when I got a call that the Van was done so Bud and Joyce gave us a ride over to pick it up. I dropped Cheri off at home and I headed over to pick up Grandma and take her to Wal-Mart to have her hair cut. She had to wait a long time to get in. I went and filled the van with gas and came back and she was still waiting. So I did some shopping in Wal-Mart, just nosing around not planning on buying anything. But I did find the NinJa Master Prep that was $30 cheaper than anywhere else I have looked. Our daughter Nikki has one and she loves it. It works like a blender and a food chopper. So I bought it and took it out to the van and when I came back in and checked on Grandma she was still waiting. So I did some more looking around. It was near 5:00 pm before I got Grandma back home. When I got home I ordered a pizza from Papa John’s for delivery as we had an internet coupon and today was the last day to use it. After supper I finished putting the hardware on the new windshield and now ready to put back on the motorcycle.

Cheri and I both felt better today and more like getting some work done. The first thing this morning I had to have the van over to the repair shop at 8:00 am to get the oil leak fixed. Our neighbor Mike picked me up and brought me home. They are going to call when the van is done. Cheri left for her pool exercise just has I got home, our neighbor Mary gave her a ride in their golf cart to the pool. Cheri had a list of honey do jobs for me to do today. I also got the rain gutters cleaned out; I need to do that more often now that the leaves are falling from our big oak tree. I took the motorcycle and made a trip to Lowe’s to get some screws, the face trim on the front of the house is loose. A piece of it came down the other day in the wind and just got it back up temporary, so now that project is done. Next I started power washing the driveway and after about 45 minutes the power washer quit. I think the problem is the circuit breaker on the power cord, had enough for the day so will check it out tomorrow. Cheri spent most of the day in the sewing room rearranging things, think she needs more storage cabinets or get rid of some stuff (I wonder which it will be). Tonight was pizza night at the Club House; we sat with Mike and Mary and after we eat the four of us went over to Baker Acers to visit with Norm and Marlene. We never got a call from the repair shop; I thought the van would be done today.

Today was a play day for me, not so much for Cheri. Four of us left at 10:00 am for our first weekly motorcycle ride. Two of the guys (Mike and Norm) are new to our rides. We were just getting ready to leave the park when this guy (Norm) rides into the park and turns around and comes over by us. He is new to the park and we asked him if he wanted to ride with us, so he went and told his wife he was going on a ride. I lead the group through the back roads to Crystal River with the Harley dealer being our destination. We got a few questions answered about different things that we can do to our motorcycles. We stopped at McDonald’s for lunch; some things never change on our rides. We got home around 3:00 pm and put on 138 miles, it was a perfect day for a ride. Cheri did her pool exercise and took Grandma Grocery shopping as Cheri also needed to get groceries. That was pretty much taken care of her day. We got an e-mail from Larry and Denise wanting us to see if a site in Baker Acers was available for them so after I got home I went over to see if the site was available but there was a sign in the window of the office saying they were gone to the bank. As it turned out it was a good thing because we got a call from Larry and Denise telling us they got a site in a different park and will be leaving Ontario next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Cheri and I both were low on energy today and couldn’t make up our minds what we were going to do. When Cheri got home from the pool I went to the bank to make a deposit that I should have done a few days ago. When I got home I moved a few things out of the shed so we could move around. I had plans on going to get materials to build the shelves. When I came in for lunch Cheri was rearranging a few things. I told her that I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything and she said that she felt the same way. After lunch we decided to shuck the work and go and see a movie. We went to the 1:30 showing of Captain Phillips. It was a very good movie with some great acting and a true story. This evening was our Life Group gathering and it was very interesting and had a nice turn out for it.

I was up before 4:00 am still having a hard time sleeping. Shortly after Cheri left for her pool exercise I went out and moved things out and back to the front of the carport so I could clean the floor. After starting I decided that I should clean the siding and ceiling, bigger job than I first planed on doing. I quit at 10:30 am so I could take Grandma for her B-12 shot which didn’t take too long. After dropping off Grandma I stopped by Bud and Joyce’s to pick up our lawn mower and visited with them. I see John coming down the street so I stopped him and told him I have a motorcycle ride planned for Wednesday; he was excited and ready to start our weekly rides. I stopped by Butche’s to welcome him back from the north and tell him about the Wednesday ride. He just got in yesterday and had bought a new place in Baker Acers. He has a lot of cleaning to do and said that if he wasn’t at the starting point for the ride not to wait for him. It was late by the time I got home and Cheri waited to have lunch with me. Cheri had hung some more pictures and was busy putting things away in the sewing room that she had unpacked. She had just finished vacuuming and washing all the floors. After lunch I went back out and put things back in the carport and moved the bike barn closer to the front of the carport so it hide the many things I have stacked outside. I don’t have room for them in the shed until I get the shelving built and put in. Before I put the motorcycle in the barn I took it for a ride to fill up with gas and have it ready for the Wednesday ride. It was my first ride with the new mufflers and I like the sound of them. I hung up Cheri’s big cross cut saw in the sewing room for her and then I sat down with the clock and after some work I got it to clime right with the time. It took me a while to figure it out. When I change the time it for standard time I just backed it up an hour. After reading the instructions it says that is a no no but I did finally get it back in sink. We watched Dancing with the Stars and Cheri said the wrong person got voted off and I had to agree with her. I recorded the Packer game so we could watch Dancing with the Stars. So after that was over I settled in to watch the Packers play, not a good game for the packers as they lost.

The extra hours sleep didn’t help as I was up early; probably will take a few days to get into sleeping an hour later. Grandma went to church with us and Pastor Dean had another interesting message. We didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone after church as everyone left right away. So it was just Grandma, Cheri and me. We went to Next Door in Zephyrhills for lunch. After we dropped off Grandma we stopped and visited with Norm and Marlene as they were sitting outside. When we got home I changed clothes and sat down in the recliner, covered up with a blanket and that is where I stayed the rest of the day. I tried to watch some TV but slept most of the afternoon. Cheri continued working out in the sun room sorting through books and trying to find a place to put them.  When I changed the time on the clock last night I must have done something wrong as the hour chime is off by four hours, something to check out tomorrow.

I got up to a rainy morning, it rained all morning and part of the afternoon, I checked the rain gage and we got a 1 ¼ inches of rain for the day. When Cheri came out this morning she asked me if I wanted to go out for breakfast, I had thought about it before she got up. We headed to Golden Corral as they have the best breakfast with so many different choices. Then we headed to Lakeland and I dropped Cheri off at Beall’s which is right next to Joan Fabrics to shop. I headed to the Harley dealer for the performance work shop I signed up for last week. The plan had been to ride the motorcycle but the rain put a stop to that. When I got back to Joan Fabrics I called Cheri and she said that she just got done shopping, great timing. When we got home Cheri had a lot of pictures for me put up that had been in storage, later while I was out in the shed I could hear some hammering coming from the house, when I got back inside Cheri had already made a change to some of the pictures. My neighbor called and asked me if I would come over to help him install some wind deflectors on his motorcycle. He had to move the signal lights to make them fit and wanted some help with the project. He had wanted to do it without cutting the wires but that wasn’t possible. I went back to my place and got him some heat shrink and my heat gun for him to use. We had brats for supper and Cheri did them in the oven under the broiler and you would have thought they were done on the grill. We are looking forward to the extra hour of sleep tonight.
