I forgot to mention yesterday we got a text from Darren
telling us that at 9 weeks baby Wyatt rolled over for the first time. Today was
a good day for Cheri and me. Cheri did some touch up painting on the closet and
then spent the rest of the day in her sewing room. She has started making
another baby blanket. I worked on spray painting the closet door which has
taken a while as I put three coats on the back side and two coats on the front
side and at least one more to do on the front side. I was able to do other work
during the drying time. I replaced the piece of crown molding which was a challenge
because it was a different style and got the base board installed. If things go
well tomorrow I will have the closet done. We had leftovers of ham and potatoes
for supper. The potatoes was from a new recipe and were lacking some seasoning so
Cheri add some seasoning and they were much better this time. It was a good day
that God made for us, but every day is a good day it is just how we use it to
honor him.

Today wasn’t one of my better days. I worked on
installing the pre hung closet door this morning. It was a project that shouldn’t
have taking more than an hour but thing just didn’t go right for me and took
about three hours to get it in. I also took down a piece of crown molding that
I tried to patch. I thought it would be all right after it was painted but wasn’t
up to my standards. So while Cheri was doing the painting on the door frame I
was going to spray paint the door but it was too windy. I looked over at the
neighbors and saw that one of her screens had fallen off the house. So I went
over to reinstall it but all the corners had deteriorated from the sun and
needed new replacement parts. So I check with her and she did have some
replacement parts so I was able to get the screen repaired and reinstalled.
Then I made a trip to Home depot to see about getting a piece of crown molding
that would be close to what we already have. I only needed a piece three feet
long and couldn’t find anyone to cut it for me. I looked for a person to help
me and could find anyone. I finally went to the front of the store and found
several of them visiting (I wasn’t happy). After I got my piece of molding I
had a talk with the manager but don’t think it did any good but made me feel
better. I also made a stop at Lowe’s to get another LED light bulb for the
kitchen, yes another one burned out. That makes three out of the seven in a year’s
time. There was only one on the shelf and it was one that had been returned.
Once again I had to go find someone to get a box of them down for me. When I
got home Cheri was getting ready to put on another coat of paint. I was done
for the day as I was afraid to doing anything else. It was one of those days
that God was trying my patients and looking back I probably could have done
better.

We got an e-mail from Grandma saying that she did feel
like getting out of the house today. So it was just Cheri and I for church
today. We had a guest speaker today as Pastor Randy was in Maine spending time
with his son on a bear hunt. After Sunday school was Linger Longer to get to
visit with our Sunday school class friends with a lunch of salads, sandwiches,
and dessert. Cheri fixed Grandma a plate of food and we dropped that off at her
place. Then we took her grocery and medicine list and went to Wal-Mart. While
Cheri was getting the groceries I went to pick up her medicine. Well the pharmacy
was close between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm. So I had to wait about 15 minutes for it
to open. By the time all was said and done it was near 3:00 pm before we got
home. I settled in to watch the NASCAR race and Cheri put on another coat of
paint on the closet. We just had a snack for supper as we were still full from
the lunch at church. We got a call this evening from Larry and Denise. Larry
just had a knee replacement and was telling us about it. He said that he is
doing well and is home doing his exercise for the knee. Cheri got a text from
Nikki around 9:30 pm letting us know that they got home ok. It was another very
hot and humid day.

I was out before 7:00 am to work on weeding around the
neighbor’s house. I needed to get it done before it got too hot. So breakfast
was a little later this morning. After breakfast Cheri went right to work on
painting the new closet which took her most of the day as she put on two coats of
paint with a short break in between the two coats. I did some clean up in the
shop and made a shelf for the closet. After lunch I settled in to watch the
Green Bay Packers preseason football game that I had recorded as the game was
on the west coast and didn’t start until 10:00 pm last night which was too late
for me to stay up. I also watch the NASCAR race along with a nap during the
race. Around 4:00 pm we got a hard rain but only lasted about 45 minutes. After
supper it was another evening of TV.

Cheri and I had a busy morning. Cheri had a lot of laundry
to do from our trip plus cleaning floors. I went over to the neighbors and
removed a couple of seed pods from the palm trees. I also need to do some
weeding around the bushes and flowers but just too hot to do it today. I got
the rest of my tools unloaded from the car that I took to Darren and Brooke’s.
A few days ago I got a call from Home Depot letting me know that the closet
door had come in so I headed over to pick it up. When I got back I did some
patching on the crown molding where I was short a small piece. At 11:45 am
Cheri and I headed out for had lunch at DQ. Then a stop at Lowe’s for paint,
wood filler, door lock set, and some salt for the water softener. Our next stop
was at Wal-Mart for groceries. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri and
I were both in a somewhat depressed state today, not sure why but maybe from
the trip and trying to get back into our routine. Any way we rested and watched
TV the rest of the afternoon and evening.

It seems like my new getting up time is between 5:00 am
and 5:30 am. Maybe when we get back home I can get back to my normal 6:00 am
time. We were on the road by 8:25 am in stop and go traffic for several miles.
Then I got to day dreaming while waiting and drove right by the turn I was
supposed to make so then had to look for a place to turn around and then got
into more traffic. OK it is bad enough to do it once but I had to do it twice.
By the time we got downtown Atlanta the traffic started clearing out and was a
nice drive the rest of the way home and made good time as we arrived home at
4:00 pm. We only made one stop which was for gas and an early lunch around
11:30 am. It was so nice to spend time with family but also good to get back
home. We had pizza for supper with an evening of TV. We were tired from the
trip and went to bed early.

I was up again a little after 5:00 am. Today Wyatt is now
two months old and had his two month check up with shots. Brooke said that he
wasn’t too happy about getting the shots. He weighed 13.4 pounds and is 23 ½
inches long. The doctor said that he is now doing what a 3 or 4 month old would
be doing. Darren came home for lunch and was pretty frustrated with work today.
I was bored today with no projects to do but did take a walk around the
neighborhood. We played a game of Hand, Knee, and foot today and Cece and I won
as Cheri and Nikki gave up after two hands. While we played cards Coz and
Brooke when to the grocery store so Nikki can make some more bean dip. Cheri
also made another batch of stove top cookies. I finally went in the bedroom to
take a nap which lasted about an hour. When I came out Cheri was busy in the
kitchen making shrimp scampi for supper along with French bread garlic toast.
After we eat it was time to watch the rest of the Steven Avery documentary.
After watching it I am not really sure that he committed the murder.

It was another early morning for me. It is nice to have
the quiet time before things get busy. Cheri and Nikki fixed a breakfast of
eggs and toast. Around 9:00 am Cos, Cece, and I took the dogs to the park for
the 1 ½ mile walk. It seem to be easier for me today than it was a couple of
days ago. It was around 10:30 am when we got home, both dogs were tired and
both took a nap. Then Brooke, Cheri, Nikki, Cece, and Wyatt went shopping. This
was the first time Brooke has taken Wyatt shopping and was happy to have
someone go with her to see how she was going to make out. Around 12:00 pm
Darren came home for lunch. After we guys had a sandwich and visited it was
time for Darren to go back to work. A short time later the shopping crew were home
and they all came in with packages. The ceiling fan came late this morning and
so I installed it this afternoon. Cheri helped me by handing the thing I need.
When it was all done and turned it on we could hear a clicking sound. So I took
it all apart and found a wire hitting the screws in the top of the fan motor. I
got that fixed and put back together and now have a nice working fan. Then we
finished the card game we started yesterday which Cheri and Nikki won. Then it
was time to start fixing supper which was going to be stuffed pork chops with
Italian sausage. I worked on getting the pork chops stuffed while Cheri and
Nikki worked on the rest of the meal. After supper we settled in to watch some
more of the series on Steven Avery. It is about a murder that happen not too
far from where we lived in Wisconsin.

I slept better last night and didn’t get up until 5:50
am, still the first person up. Although I did hear Brooke up at 2:50 am with
Wyatt. Darren left for work at 6:40 am. Later Brooke wanted to know if Cheri
and Nikki would take care of Wyatt so she could go for a lunch date with her girlfriend.
They told her to leave early and spend the day out with her girlfriend and do
some shopping. Coz and I made a trip to
Sam’s Club to get some groceries and playing cards. Then a quick stop at Home
Depot for some cable ties to dress up the power cord on the hot water circulating
pump. When we got home I worked on repairing the two broken chairs, dressing up
the power cable, and making an adjustment on the toilet as sometimes it wouldn’t
stop running. We just got started play Hand, Knee, and Foot when Brooke got
home. Brooke had ordered a different type of rocking basinet because she didn’t
think the other one could be fixed. So I helped her assemble it. Now that they
have two of them we told Brooke that they need another baby. She said that she
was ready but we needed to convince Darren. Brooke’s mother stopped over to
visit and have supper with us. We had enough leftovers from last night to have
the same thing again. The evening was spent watching TV.

I was up before 5:00 am this morning which means I was
the first one up. Any one in their right mind would still be sleeping, guess
that doesn’t say much for me. Breakfast today was a pretty much a repeat of
yesterday. After a little rain shower Cos, Cece, Darren, and I took the dogs to
the park to give them some exercise which we all needed. There were a lot of
people out walking with dogs. It was a busy place. The trail we took was around
1 ½ miles loop through the woods and around different playing fields. It was
around 11:00 am when we got back to the house. Then it was time for the girls
to go for a pedicure which were birthday presents from Darren and Brooke.
Darren stayed home with Wyatt and Cos and I went to Home Depot to get an O ring
for the rocking basinet and some repair parts to fix a couple of kitchen
chairs. Cos and I also stopped at Publix’s to get some groceries we needed for
the day. It was a little past 1:00 pm when Cos and I got back. The NSCAR race
that was postponed last night do to a rain out was going to be on at 1:00 pm
today. So when I checked the TV it was still in a rain delay and didn’t get
started until around 3:00 pm. So I went ahead and fixed the rocking basinet
with the o ring from a faucet repair kit we got at Home Depot. We got more rain
this afternoon and was on and off most of the day. Cos and Darren were able to
do the grilling between the rain showers. We had chicken and beef fajitas along
with bean dip, Pico de Gallo, and guacamole for supper. The bean dip, Pico de Gallo,
and guacamole was made from Nikki’s recipes with the help of Cheri. So we had a
great homemade Mexican meal for supper and I know I eat too much.

I was up at my normal 6:00 am time and shortly Wyatt was
the next one awake which met Brooke was also awake. The rest got up over the
next two hours. Coz, Darren, Nikki, and Cheri worked on fixing breakfast
tortillas with eggs, brats, and bean dip which were excellent. The morning was
all about visiting and storytelling. Cos, Nikki, Cece, Darren, and Brook left
around noon to go to a movie while Cheri and I babysit baby Wyatt along with
the two dogs (Raine and Harper). No problem with Wyatt but the dogs were a
different story. Raine cried for about 45 minutes and Harper was crying for her
supper at 4:00 pm as she knows when it is time for her to eat. I worked on the
baby rocking basinet, it was making a terrible noise when it was running. So I
took it apart and found the drive belt was coming apart. I used one of Nikki’s
hair bands which did work but not that well as it did slip some. Need to make a
trip to Home Depot to see about maybe getting an O-ring that would work if we
can get the right size. The kids got home around 4:15 pm and had a good time.
We had left over burgers and brat along with potato salad and bean dip for
supper. Later we had cherry pie that Nikki made this evening along with some
ice cream. The rest of the evening was spent watching TV.

I was once again up a little before 5:00 am. Probably a
good thing as Coz, Nikki, Cece arrived at 6:30 am. They drove straight through
from Wisconsin. After a good visit it was time for me to start work on the hot
water recirculating system. First I had to make a trip to Home Depot to get
materials for the project. When I got back I decided to do the electrical first
because I had to go in the garage attic and knew it would get hotter if I waited.
That went well and happy to have that part done. Next it was time to cut the
hot water line to install the pump and realized the section of flex pipe I
bought was too long which met another trip to Home Depot to exchange it. Cheri
went with me this time because she wanted to stop at Publix’s to get some
groceries. The pump installation went well. Next was to install the manifold
under the kitchen sink. Everything was going good until I went to install the
pipe reducers which came with the circulating pump kit. Turn out that the
reducers had the wrong pipe thread, think it might have been a metric thread
which met another trip to Home Depot to get the right reducers. Long story
shorter the project is done now we have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is
going to do the job. It was 4:30 pm before I got done and was ready to rest as
Darren and Coz were grilling hamburgers and Brats along with the potato salad
that Cheri and Nikki made. We also watched the Packer preseason game that
Darren had recorded. All in all it was a good day God made for us to spend time
together.

We were up early this morning and were on the road at
6:20 am heading for Roswell Ga. To visit Darren, Brooke, and baby Wyatt. The
trip went well and traffic wasn’t bad until we got to downtown Atlanta. Although
for the most part it kept moving and was for only about four miles. We arrived
at Darren and Brooke’s at 1:20 pm. We had only made one stop around 10:15 am to
have something to eat and fill the car with gas. We were surprised how much
Wyatt had grown since we saw him six week ago. We visited with Brooke for a
while before I went to work on the ceiling fan with no luck so it will have to
be replaced. I also did some checking on installing the hot water circulating pump.
I will have to get some plumbing parts and I will have to install an electrical
outlet to plug the pump into. Darren got home from work about the same time as
I got done with a mental list of things I need to get for the project. We
ordered in Mexican for supper which was pretty good. This evening we started to
watch a movie but Cheri and I couldn’t stay awake so we called it a night.

I was up before 4:00 am, another night not being able to
sleep. I am sure I will be ready for bed early tonight. I told Cheri I was
going for a motorcycle ride today and was out of the house and on the road by
7:50 am. The temp was just right for short sleeve shirt riding. I rode north up
around the hills north of Dade City which is one of my favorite places to ride.
It was very foggy for a while. Later on I ended up at Home Depot to check on
crown molding for the closet. I did find some that was a little different but
think it will work. I guess I can pick it up when the door comes in. I also
looked at the Ridged battery powered skill saw that I have been wanting to get.
But not wanting to pay $140 for it. Will they had a 16 dollar off on the 6 inch
but had the price on the information sheet for the 7 ¼ in skill saw. So long
story short I got the 7 ¼ skill saw for 99 dollars and then 10 percent more off
for my VA card. So with tax it came to a little over 94 dollar. I came home
very happy. After lunch I decided to see what I could do with the old crown
molding I took off. I did get installed and will have to use some wood filler
to finish it so maybe I won’t have to buy the new crown molding. Cheri spent a
lot of time today getting our things pack to leave in the morning making a trip
to see Darren, Brooke, and baby Wyatt. A little after 4:00 pm we met Mike and
Pam at the Village Inn for supper and free pie. Also took the car through the
car wash and then over to check out Larry and Denise’s house. All in all it
turned out to be a good day.
Gay Aug-16-16

I was up around 4:15 am, not sure why but couldn’t sleep.
So I was tired and had a hard time getting started today. First thing I went
over to the neighbors and removed another seed pod from the palm tree. Then I
started packing up tools I needed to take to Darren and Brooke’s Thursday. Then
it was time to get back to work on the closet plaster. I got the sanding done
and another piece of trim up. Before lunch I went over to Elaine’s to get the
keys to Mike and Kathy’s place. Needed to check it out and lower the air
conditioner down to 82 degrees. After lunch I went over to Grandma’s to get her
grocery list and stop at the bank for her. Then I went over to Lowe’s to get a
closet clothes rod and some additional materials to make shelves. From Lowe’s I
headed over to Dick and Linda’s. They are remodeling their master bathroom and
bedroom. Dick needed help to remove the old vanity and back splash. It took us
a while to get it out and loaded on the truck so he could take it to the
Re-Store. While I was doing all of this Cheri was busy with laundry, house
work, finishing a baby blanket for Wyatt and laying out things to take to
Darren and Brooke’s. When I got home I was in need of a shower. After I got
cleaned up we went to get Grandma’s groceries. After all was said and done it
was near 5:00 pm when we got home. Cheri fixed us baked ham and spinach salad
for supper. As you can see it was another busy day for the Sharps.

I didn’t get any work done at home today. I took Grandma
for 10:00 am eye appointment and didn’t get in to see the nurse until 10:45 am
after a couple test it was more waiting to see the doctor. Grandma did get a
very good report on her eyes and doesn’t have to go back until April of next
year. It was around 12:15 pm when I got home. Cheri was busy in her sewing
room. We had to hurry around for lunch and me to get a few tools together as I
had set a 1:00 pm time to be at Jan Hughes to check out a water leak in her
laundry room. Cheri went with me to visit with Jan while I checked out the
leak. It turned out to be from the rain gutter and the down spout getting plugged
with leaves and then the water backed up under the roof to leak into the
laundry room. I had to make a trip back home to get some more tools. I cut out
the end of the rain gutter so now if the down spout gets plugged the water can
just run out the end of the gutter. I just finished before it started to rain.
On the way home we stopped at Publix’s to pick up a few groceries as Cheri was
fixing a box lunch to take to Mike and Pam’s. So as soon as we got home Cheri
started with fixing the box lunch and I headed to the shower. As soon as I got
ready Cheri was ready to go to Mike and Pam’s to deliver the lunch. We sat and
visited with them for a while before it was time to take Cheri home. It was men’s
night out at church this evening for a steak dinner and fellowship. I picked up
a new friend that we met in Sunday school and took him with me. It was a very
good meal and even better fellowship. It was 9:00 pm when I got home. We
watched a little TV and called it a night.

Grandma e-mailed us and said that they wasn’t going to
church this morning, said that she was ok and just lazy. Pastor Randy had an
outstanding message (Live like you were dying) and Charlie’s Sunday school went
right along with it. You always know when it is a good message as the time
fly’s by and you don’t want it to end. We also had a nice visit with several
people after Sunday school. On the way home we stopped to check on Grandma and
to see if she needed anything. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home. I decided
to put another coat of plaster on the closet as tomorrow I have to take Grandma
for a doctor’s appointment which will take up all of the forenoon. Cheri went
to the sewing room to work on her latest project. The rest of the afternoon and
evening was spent watching some movies we had recorded.

We got an e-mail from Mike and Kathy asking how their
house was. Mike said to check the office area as they had some mold issues the
last couple of years. So I went over this morning to check and didn’t see any
mold but thought the air conditioner was set too high at 86 degrees so I adjusted
it down to 84 degrees as I felt there needed to be more air movement in the
house. I really thought that it should have been set at 82 degrees but didn’t
want to do that until we heard from him. I have the temp in Larry and Denise’s
house set at 82 degrees and works out well. It makes for more air movement and
no mold to worry about. Cheri was back working in her sewing room and I put on
the second coat of plaster on the closet. We were both done by 12:30 pm and took
the rest of the day off watching TV and Bible study. We skipped lunch today as
Cheri fixed a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, and orange
juice. Once again we could hear thunder in the distance but didn’t get any
rain.

Cheri and I both had a good day of getting things done.
After Cheri got her Friday house work done she headed to the sewing room and
finished a fall table runner and made a pumpkin wreath for the door. I worked
on the closet and got the dry wall hung and a coat plaster put on. We were both
done for the day around 3:30 pm. After I got showered and cleaned up we needed
to make a Wal-Mart run. So first we stopped by Popeye’s to have supper. Then it
was on to Wal-Mart, then one more stop at Publix’s to get a special spinach
salad kit that comes with everything you need to make the salad. We didn’t get
any rain today but heard the thunder in the distance.

I had an 8:30 am doctor’s appointment for my physical. I
got a very good report and don’t have to go back until May of next year. I got home
at 10:00 am. I sat down and had another cup of coffee before getting started on
the closest framing. Cheri was busy doing laundry and later she was in her
sewing room. I could hear the sewing machine going so she is busy working on
another project. Things went smoothly with the closet framing and got done
around 3:00 pm. After I got showered and cleaned up I called Mike to see if he
could haul a couple of sheets of dry wall from Lowe’s for me. He was free so we
did it late this afternoon. I am happy to get it here so I can go right to work
on dry walling the closet tomorrow. Cheri fixed us a couple more Philly Cheese
Steak hoagies for supper plus some more water melon. So all in all it was a
very productive day for us. Once again we got a little shower of rain this
evening. It was an evening watching a movie we had recorded along with some
home construction shows.

I could see a bright light in the sky this morning, not
sure what it was but after further investigation I realized it was the sun. It
is the first time we have had sunshine since last Saturday. We did also get a
little rain this evening. This morning I took Cheri for her haircut and then
over to Great Clips to have my hair cut. It was around 11:30 am when we got
home. I told Cheri yesterday that when I got the motorcycle done I was going to
take some time off before starting another project. Well that lasted until
early afternoon. I laid out my plan for the closet in the kitchen and removed
the trim and have it ready for framing the closet wall. Next I went to Lowe’s
and got the framing material. It was near 3:00 pm when I got home and decided
not to do anymore today. Cheri spent the afternoon in her sewing room. They had
a sign up done by the mail boxes that there was going to be a food truck by the
Club House on Wednesday between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. So we decided to go down
and see what they had. Well when we got to the Club House there wasn’t any food
truck or any people around. We drove back around by the mail boxes and check
the sign and sure enough it said Wednesday but not until next Wednesday. See
that is how people get into trouble when they don’t read. We had a better
supper at home as Cheri fixed Philly Cheese Steak hoagies which were excellent.

It was another day of rain and no sun. The first thing
this morning I went over to the neighbors to check the palm trees and there was
a seed pod and all three trees. So I got the ladder and saw out and it started
to rain. Being it was light I went ahead and got the seed pod cut out. While I
was out Cheri was busy cleaning floors and her usual Tuesday house work. Cheri
said that she was somewhat depressed and I think it has to do with the weather
because we haven’t seen any sun this week. I also work on getting the rest of
the motorcycle parts cleaned and back on the bike. Now all I need is some sun
and a cooler day to take a ride. Another one of the kitchen LED lights quit working,
which makes two out of seven that has quit in less than a year. So much for all
the hype about LED’s lasting for twenty years. So later this afternoon I
dropped Cheri off at Hobby Lobby and I went to Lowe’s to get the replacement
light bulb. This evening we had our new neighbors (Norm and Sandy) over to
visit and play Hand, Knee, and Foot. They had played Hand and Foot but this was
the first time for Hand, Knee, and Foot. We had a nice visit and they enjoyed
the card game.

This morning I had an 8:30 am fasting lab appointment. At
8:10 am I check in at the kiosk and waited until 8:50 am and final went to the
counter to see what was going on and it turned out that the kiosk didn’t check
me in and was told that they would call me in a few minutes. Well I waited
until 9:15 am and went back to the counter. Well when she checked me in she put
my file behind all the other people that had check in. Long story short I was
finally done by 9:30 am. Cheri was waiting for me at home as we were going out
for breakfast at the Sun Rise restaurant, so breakfast was on the late side. Today
was a repeat of yesterday, gloomy, with rain showers off and on all day. The
good thing about it was that the temp was in the low 80’s which made it a bit
cooler for cleaning the motorcycle. I still needed the fan blowing as the
humidity was very high. Cheri was busy in the kitchen this morning making a new
recipe of beef stroganoff in the crock pot to have for supper. It made for a
nice aroma in the house. Cheri also spent time in the sewing room, said that
she had a hard time getting her mind into any projects today. I finished
cleaning the motorcycle around 3:00 pm. All that is left to do is clean the
tail trunk, saddle bags, and windshield which I can do in the house where it is
much cooler. Late this afternoon we drop off a few things Grandma wanted along
with her medicine refill. Then went to Home Depot to order the 20 inch door for
the new closet I will be building. The beef stroganoff Cheri made was really
good and have enough for another meal.

It was a gloomy damp day with showers off and on all day
plus high humidity. Grandma didn’t go to church with us today as she is still
fighting the infection from the bug bite she had. We really enjoyed Pastor
Randy’s message today along with Charlie’s Sunday school lesson. On the way
home from church we stopped by Grandma’s to see how she was doing. She gave us
a list of a few things she needs along with a medicine that needs to be
refilled. It was after 1:00 pm when we got home. Cheri and I decided that we
weren’t going to do anything this afternoon. We settled in to watch a movie
that we had recorded. I think maybe I watch about five minutes of it before
falling asleep. I woke up at the end of the movie and then watched the NASCAR
race. After the race Cheri fixed us our usual Sunday evening meal of pizza. Then
it was time for another movie and shows we had recorded.

I check the rain gauge and we did get half an inch of
rain yesterday. It was pretty much overcast all day today which help keep the
temp down some but still was 85 degrees and very humid plus we got some rain
this afternoon. Cheri spent most of the day in her sewing room. I am not sure
if she is working on a project or still trying to figure out what she wants to
do next. I worked outside on the motorcycle. I did get the oil changed in the
engine, transmission, and the primary drive. I also got the new spark plugs
installed. After lunch I gave it a good wash job. By 2:30 pm I was done for the
day. I had a shower and cleaned up and then headed to the recliner for a nap.
Cheri was busy in the kitchen making some sweet bread and a salad to take to
Sunday school tomorrow. This evening we settled in and watched a couple shows
and a movie we had recorded.

First thing this morning we went over to Grandma’s to
apply the cream on her back. She said that she thought that she could do it
herself. So she is going to try it for a few days to see how it goes. When we
got back home Cheri did some baking, a new dessert recipe which was excellent.
She also spent a lot of time in her sewing room working on a new project. I
headed outside to work on the motorcycle. I couldn’t find my oil filter wrench,
looked for about an hour and never did find it. But managed to get some things
in the shed more organized. I was able to use an old oil filter wrench that I
had for our Miata. After changing the oil filter and draining the engine oil I could
see I needed new drain plug O-rings. So after getting cleaned up we made a trip
to the Harley dealer in Lakeland for the O-rings. The dealership is own by some
new people and when I paid for the parts I told them I had a rewards card. Well
they didn’t carry forward the rewards from the old owners so all the reward
points went right down the drain. I wasn’t happy, guess it is time to look for
a new dealer. I am sure there were other guys that probably felt the same way.
I would have thought that it would have been a good well thing to keep
customers and keep them happy. So they started a new rewards program for me
which I told them I would never use and they didn’t seem to care. We also made
a couple other stops on the way home return some things we didn’t need. One of
the places was Home Depot and while we were there I checked the pre hung doors
and found out that I can order a 20 inch door. We drove through a hard rain on
the way home and it quit just as we were pulling into our park. We did get some
rain but didn’t check the rain gauge. Cheri fixed a new recipe of chicken
breast wrapped with bacon and brown sugar along with some other spices and baked
in the oven. It was very good.

Cheri worked on the laundry, floor cleaning, and dusting
this morning and I took Grandma for her doctor’s appointment to have a cortisone
shot in her knee. She continues to have a lot of pain in her knee. She should
have had a knee replacement many years ago and now is too old to have it done.
We waited just over an hour before we got to see the nurse and then another
twenty minutes before seeing the doctor. It was 11:30 am when I finally got home.
We had an early lunch because Dick and Linda were picking us up at 12:30 pm. We
went with them to look at bathroom flooring at Lumber Liquidators as they didn’t
know where they were located. Cheri helped Linda pick out the flooring for the
bathroom. They also picked out flooring for the rest of the house. Then it was
on to Southern Granite where we got our granite counter tops. Dick and Linda
are thinking about granite for the bathroom vanity. The owner (Theresa) was
busy with another customer and told us to go out and check on what they had. So
we went out and looked at the granite remnants and found three that we thought
would work. Later Theresa went out with us and we showed her what we picked out.
Theresa told us that the color wasn’t right and then showed us something that
she thought would be better and Dick and Linda like it. So Theresa sat down
with them and gave them a price. Now they need to think about it and decide if
this is what they want. It was near 4:30 pm when we got home. We decided to go
over to Grandma’s right a way to put the cream on her back. Cheri fixed us
leftover shrimp scampi for supper. We enjoyed our afternoon with Dick and
Linda.

This morning we took Grandma for her 10:00 am doctor
appointment. She still has the rash on her back and the doctor gave her a new prescription
for some different cream which has to be applied twice a day. It was a long
wait to see the doctor and by the time we went to Wal-Mart to get the cream it
was after noon before we got home. After lunch Cheri did her Wednesday house
work and worked on the motorcycle. I took the windshield, tail trunk, saddle
bags, and seat off and brought them in the house where it would be cooler to
clean and polish them (something to do another day). I also brought the fan
from the garage out by the bike so I could have some air movement while working
on the tail and brake lights. I added a new flashing unit for the lights. Now
when I apply the brakes the lights will flash quickly seven times and then go to
a steady light. Something more to help get the attention of people that are
following behind. It was around 3:30 pm when I got done and ready for a shower.
After I got cleaned up I went over to Lowe’s to check out pre hung closet
doors, no luck on finding a plain door. While I was there I got the parts I needed
to repair my Dremel tool. It was near 5:00 pm when I got home and Cheri had
supper almost ready. After supper it was another evening of TV.

Cheri was a little slower getting around this morning so
I went over to the neighbors and did some weeding and cut a seed pod from the
palm tree. It was already hot out and I came back all sweaty. We have a DVD
from Dr. Larry Ollison called The Hebrew Language which we have loaned out
several times. I wanted to give it to our Sunday school teacher to look at. Well
I have been looking for it and can’t find it. I just figured that we loaned it
out and didn’t get it back. So I got on line and ordered another one. Well
wouldn’t you know right after I ordered it Cheri found the one we have. So now
we will have two that we can loan out. Then we went over to Grandma’s to apply
the ointment cream on her back. It was already 10:30 am when we got home. I did
some checking on line for an 18 or 20 inch pre hung plain hollow core closet
door. I can’t seem to find one anywhere so I guess I will have to buy a 24 inch
and cut it down to the size I need. I am planning on building a closet in the
kitchen by the back entry door and don’t have a lot of room for a larger closet.
After lunch I decide I needed to go out and clean up my shop which is in a mess
from building the spice racks. It was really hot out but I manage to get most
of it cleaned up with the help of the fan blowing air on me. After I got
cleaned up I headed for the recliner to join Cheri. She pretty much relaxed all
day not feeling like doing anything. Before supper we headed back to Grandma’s
to take care of her. All in all it was another good day that God made for us.

First I want to wish my lovely wife a happy birthday. It
was supposed to be her day but things never worked out for her. She did get a
lot of birthday wishes from a lot of friends. She got phone calls from all of
the kids though out the day. I didn’t feel all that good today just little
under the weather. When we got back from Grandma’s this morning I had to call
Bright House as she doesn’t have any phone or internet service. The earliest anyone
can come is between 10:00 am and noon tomorrow. Customer service sure isn’t
what it used to be. I did finish the spice cabinet and Cheri has all of her
spices in one place and is able to see what she has. The rest of the day I
spent watching the NASCAR race that had been rained out on Sunday. Even today
the race was called with 22 laps left as it got too foggy to continue to race.
At 5:30 pm we met church friends Dick and Linda at Hungry Howie’s for the pizza
buffet. After we eat we went back to their place to visit and showed us their
house. We had a nice visit but couldn’t stay long because we had to go to
Grandma’s to put the ointment cream on her back. It was 8:30 pm when we got
home.

Grandma didn’t go to
church with us this morning but we did stop by her place at 8:30 am to put the
ointment cream on her back. There was only one service today which was at the
same time as late service which met that our Sunday school class started at
9:15 am. Cheri and I had read the Sunday school lesson for today but didn’t seem
to get much out of it. Well that all change in Sunday school class as Charlie
did an excellent job of presenting it so we could better understand it. In fact
it was so good that he spent extra time going through the lesson. Which made
serval people late for church. It was ok with Cheri and I as we had decided
that we weren’t going to church today as it was all about Bible school. After
Sunday school Cheri and I headed to Wal-Mart to pick up groceries and other
things for Grandma. It was after noon when we got home. We had lunch and then
settled in for a relaxing afternoon reading and watching some TV. I had planned
on watching the NASCAR race but it was postponed because of rain. We left the
house at 4:30 pm and made a stop at Grandma’s and then on to pick up Mike and
Pam to see the movie God’s not Dead #2. It was being showed in our church at
5:30 pm. It was a very good movie that everyone should see. If you want to make
it even better watch God’s not Dead #1 first. It will help you better
understand God’s not Dead #2. We got home a little after 8:00 pm. It was a
great day spending time with God and good friends.
