Cheri
left for the pool a little before 8:30 am for her pool exercise. About 20
minutes later I rode the bicycle down to get the van so I could take Grandma
for her 9:10 am lab appointment. After her appointment we made a stop at the
bank for her. Cheri wasn’t able to ride the bicycle home as the seat was too
high and with her knee she was afraid that she might lose her balance and tip
over, so Mike gave her a ride home and put the bicycle in the back of his
truck. Cheri worked on putting together quilt blocks that she had made before
we moved. I worked on rewiring my motorcycle float charger so I can easily pug
it into the motorcycle. Then I went in for lunch and spent most of the
afternoon reading. Later I went back outside and did some more cleaning up of
things stored in the car port. At 3:45 pm we picked up Mike and Mary and then
to Baker Acers to pick up Norm and Marlene. We headed to Dade City to have Mexican
for dinner but first we had to stop at the quilt shop for the ladies. Dinner
was very good as it always is at Del Carmen. We were back home by 6:30 pm and
settled in for and evening of reading and watching TV.

The
computer was very slow about coming up this morning, guess it is getting old
and slow just like me. Cheri went for her pool exercise this morning and I went
for a motorcycle ride. It is the first ride I have been on in two months, sure
felt good to get back in the saddle again. When I got home Cheri had gone
shopping and arrived home about half an hour after I did. After lunch we headed
to Home Depot to return a few things that didn’t work in the new house like we
thought they would. Then we made a stop at Winn Dixie for groceries. We took
advantage of their two for one sale. When we got home we took it easy the rest
of the afternoon reading. I am reading Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Relly. It is
an excellent read and it is hard to put down, learning a lot of history about
Lincoln and the war that I never knew. Cheri and I got to do something this
evening that we never done before. I get e-mails when we can see the space
station go by and I always forget to go and watch it go by. Well tonight we did
remember and went out to see it. We weren’t sure we would see it because it was
pretty cloudy but Cheri spotted it and we got to watch it for about two
minutes. We went over to see Mike and Mary this evening and they weren’t home
so we headed on over to pick up our mail when Mike and Mary pulled up beside
us. We told them that we were just at your place and they said we were just
over to your place. It was really funny because they went one way to our place
and we went a different way to their place, had a good laugh about that.

I had a good day of
getting things done. I had called for a cable locate and it was a good thing
because right where I wanted to put an anchor tie down for the shed was right
on top of the electric line. I did get the anchors in and the skirting back on,
so now I have to wash it and it will be ready to paint. I also got the
motorcycle battery charged and the bike started without any trouble, but I think
I will have to replace the battery in the near future. I went out to get the
set screw I needed for the refrigerator and ended up having to go to Home Depot
to find what I needed. So now that project is done and I was also done for the
day. It was another two shower day. Cheri had a down day. After her pool
exercise she repainted our name sign we have outside and spent the rest of the
day reading. I wondered why she wasn’t working on her dining room valance and
she said that she needs to get some more material. I don’t think she really
knows what she wants and just needs to go and look to see what she can find. Cheri
fixed a wonderful dinner of shrimp scampi with garlic toast, it was excellent.

It
was one of those days that didn’t go as I had planned. I was a very nice
morning not too hot and a light breeze, a good day to go for a motorcycle ride.
So I got ready and went out to start the motorcycle and the battery didn’t have
enough juice to start the bike. I had the battery charger on the bike last
week, so I was surprised that it didn’t start. I started the charger again and
got my meter to take a reading of the battery and found that the charger wasn’t
working. I trace down the problem and found that the cord that is on the bike
was faulty. While I was putting the charger on again the guy in charge of park security
stopped by to let me know that there was a security meeting at 1:00 pm. Before I
went to the meeting I took the handle off the refrigerator as it was loose and I
couldn’t tighten it any tighter. I found a stripped set screw and need to get a
new one. After the security meeting I went to Baker Acers to pick up Grandma’s
mail and take it to her and see how she was doing. Then I mowed Bud’s lawn,
from there I went to Lowe’s to get the set screw. I didn’t have any luck there
so I headed to Moody’s hardware down town. It is an old time hardware store and
usually has anything you need. Well they were close for the day, so I stopped
by Auto Zone and didn’t have any luck there. I headed home and put the handle
back on the best I could for the night. Cheri was busy cleaning and cooking for
the pot luck dinner at our place this evening with Norm & Marlene and Mike
& Mary. She also was working on the dining room window valance. Everyone
showed up at 5:00 pm for dinner which was very good.

Cheri
had early pool exercise class today, had to be at the pool by 8:30 am. She said
the water was really nice and she and Mary sat in the hot tub after their exercise
for a while. Today was the day I was going to work on putting the electric into
the shed. I have had it in my mind how I was going to do it and in fact I had
moved a bunch of stuff out of the way in the shed attached to the house and
planed on getting the electric from there. After more checking today I changed
my plan and dug a trench from the shed to the house and crawled under the house
and fished the wire up through the wall into the electrical panel. I did have
to make a trip to Lowe’s to get a piece of conduit to run the wiring through
from the shed to the house. Everything went well and I was done by 1:00 pm.
Cheri got the buttons covered and installed on the platform glider that she was
working on last week. It is now done and looks very nice. Cheri had bought some
window coverings to put on the glass of the French doors that go into the
sewing room. I took the door off and the glass out to put it on and we decided
not to do it as we were going to have to buy two more rolls and at $22.00 per
roll we needed a total of four rolls, decided that it was too much to pay for
the end results. She had also bought a roll for the back door window and we did
install that and looks very nice. Cheri made some salmon dip for our pot luck
dinner we are going to have here tomorrow night with Norm, Marlene, Mike, and
Mary. Cheri likes to make it the day before so it can mellow for a day which
gives it more flavor. Mike and Mary stopped by this evening to see the cornice
that we made and to visit a while.

Mike
and Pam picked us up at 9:00 am and we headed to Palmetto for breakfast at
Riverside Café. We sat outside in an open air area. It was an overcast day with
a nice breeze. We had a wonderful breakfast. Then we took a short walk out part
way on the pier. From there we headed to Mike’s brothers place to check on it
as they are up north for the summer and won’t be back to Florida until in
October. Everything was in great shape. Then we headed to St Pete to the Sunken
Gardens. We spend a lot of time there and I took a lot of pictures, with the
overcast sky it made a perfect day for pictures, for more information on the
Sunken Gardens click on this link http://www.stpete.org/sunken/.Then it was
back to our place to play some cards. Mike and I won once again playing Hand,
Knee, and Foot. Cheri was the big winner playing SOB. Mike and Pam left around
6:00 pm. It was a very relaxing day and was a great time seeing all the beauty
that God made and provide for us to see today with close friends. I have up
loaded pictures and can be seen by clicking on this link. https://plus.google.com/photos/109645901863112014958/albums?banner=pwa&gpsrc=pwrd1#photos/109645901863112014958/albums/5916181671734378625/5916181690411435010?pid=5916181690411435010&oid=109645901863112014958.

This
forenoon Cheri work hard on getting the kitchen valance ready to upholster, I
have just found out it called a cornice. I sat down in the recliner and watched
the Packer football game that I recorded last night. After that it was time to
help Cheri cover the cornice and get it put up in the kitchen. When that was
done I told Cheri I wanted to go and get a haircut and she said good that she
also wanted to get her hair cut. Then a quick stop at Wal-Mart as Cheri wanted
to get some buttons for the chair that she recovered. We just got home and the
sky opened up and it rained really hard, got over an inch in a very short time.
Then it was time to watch the NASCAR Nation Wide race that I also had recorded.
After supper we went over to Mike and Mary’s and picked them up and took them
with us to go and see Norm and Marlene. We got home around 8:30 pm and I watched
the NASCAR Sprint Cup race that was on. It was near 11:30 pm before that was
over and Cheri stayed up with me and read while I watched the race.

I
had computer problems this morning and I ended up getting some on line help to
get my problems solved. As it turned out we had a lot of small problems that
together made for a large problem. It now works like a new computer. When Cheri
got home from her exercise class she went to work on making valances for the
master bedroom. She still has some material left over from making the bed
spread four or five years ago. She had to do some piecing but they look very
nice. I worked on making the frame for the kitchen valance. It was late
afternoon before I was done with it. I brought it in so Cheri could paint the
inside of it. I think tomorrow we are going to be putting the material on and
with some luck maybe it will be done and up. This evening we were invited up to
Mike and Pam’s for dinner and cards. We played one game of Mexican Train which
Cheri and Pam won. We played one game of Aggregation that Mike and I won. One
game of SOB that Pam won and then one game of Hand, Knee, and Foot that Mike
and I won. What a wonderful day God blessed us with to complete a couple of
projects and spend time with close friends. Thanks Pam and Mike for the great
dinner.

Cheri
had an early exercise class this morning so I went right to work outside in the
shed and got thing moved around so that I can now get the electric hooked up to
the shed. When Cheri got home we took down the old kitchen drapes and did some
measuring so we could get the materials I need to make the wood valance frame.
Cheri had some material left over from making the living room valances and
decided to use it to recover the platform rocker we have in the living room.
She worked on that while the guys were here to install our new internet
service. I told the installers how and where I wanted then the modem but they
thought better and did it their way and got themselves into a mess. I was
really upset and I did let them know it. It would have been a simple install if
they had done it the way I wanted it. They did finally get it up and running.
After they left we headed out to get the valance materials and stopped by Mike
and Mary’s to drop off a couple of concrete edging pieces I didn’t want. We
were telling them that we were headed to Home Depot to for valance materials
and Mike said he had something that would work for part of the project so we
loaded the materials in and took them home. So that will save us a few dollars.
We still went to home depot to get the additional materials we needed. We also
stopped by the Sprint store to get our air card disconnected and they told me
they couldn’t do it and all I had to do was dial star two on my phone to get it
done. So while we were waiting for our pizza at Marco’s I made the call and got
that done after ten minutes of them trying to get me to keep the service. We
got caught in a rain down pore getting from Marco’s to Home Depot. I don’t know
how much we got but I am sure it was around two inches. I still don’t have my
rain gauge up. Maybe I am procrastinating because I really want a weather
station with all the bells and whistles.

Cheri and I both felt
better today as we both had a pretty good night’s sleep, makes for a better day
getting things done. Cheri’s exercise class wasn’t until 10:00 am so she did
some reading before she left. I went out before it got to hot and work in the
shed. I think I should have everything put away so I can find what I am looking
for in a couple more days. I quit at 11:00 am and came in to shower as we had a
12:45 pm appointment down in Tampa at Direct Buy. We had signed up for it at
the Home Show last week. The more I thought about it, it sounded more like a
time share thing. So I got on the internet and did some checking and there more
bad things then there were good things. Long story short I called them and
canceled our appointment. So now we were all cleaned up and no place to go. I
had gotten an e-mail from a guy that was interested in the motorcycle lift. So I
gave him a call and answered the questions that he had and I think he is going
to look at it on Saturday. I told him it was still on the 5th wheel
and was at the consignment place. That made me think about the truck and 5th
wheel so I got on their web page to see what it looked like as they were going
to take pictures of it the next day after we dropped it off. Well I couldn’t
find it in any of their listings so I checked Craigslist and didn’t find it,
next I checked EBay and no luck there either. So now I am a very unhappy camper
so Cheri and I went to the consignment place to check on it. Our person wasn’t
there today but we talked to his brother and said I checked my phone and it has
only been ten days. I said you better check your phone again because it has
been 21 days. Then he started making excuses and said he would check into it.
After that we headed to Penny’s to look for curtains for the kitchen and dining
room, no luck there so on to Target, no luck there so on to Bed Bath and
Beyond, no luck there. Then we headed to Joann Fabrics where Cheri found
material that she liked for the kitchen. So our next project is to build a
valance that we are going to wrap with the material she bought. It was near
4:30 by the time we got back home and had to get ready to meet Mike and Pam at
Panera Bread for supper and then head to church for our last Bible study. It
was another great night of Bible study going through the Book of Deuteronomy.
After Pastor Dean got done we all had a better understanding about it (anyway I
did).

I put in the worst
night, never got into a deep sleep all night. I would wake up every few
minutes. I felt like I was in the twilight zone all night. I drank a lot of ice
tea for dinner and I think I may have had too much caffeine. I all ready feel
like it is going to be a long day. Cheri had to get around early as her pool
exercise was at 8:30 am. After Cheri got home we headed over to the Humana
office to get Cheri’s drug plan straightened out and mine transferred to
Florida. I had much better luck then Cheri did on the phone. First we saw a representative
to get Cheri’s to get Cheri’s done then we had to wait about half an hour
before we could see an agent to get mine done. We are glad to get the health
and drug insurance taken care of. Now we have to wait and see if we are going
to get reimbursed for the additional we have to pay for the Florida insurance
from our YSA account that is set up from where I worked. Then we went over to
Baker Acers and I mowed Bud’s lawn and started the sprinkler. Then to Wal-Mart
to pick up Grandma’s medicine and a couple things we needed. Then home for
lunch. After lunch we went to CVS and bought a Sun Pass for the toll roads here
in Florida. Then we headed over to the Bank to open a savings account. The lady
said in order to have a savings account you have to keep $300 in it at all
times. She said that the interest rate is the same on a checking account as it
is on a savings account and there is no minimum on the checking account. So we opened
another checking account and just treat it like a savings account. After we
were done with the bank we went over to Baker Acers to turn off the water at
Bud’s and up to see Grandma and give her the medicine we picked up for her.
When we got back home we both napped for a couple of hours. Then I did some
computer work paying some bills and activated the Sun Pass. Cheri is reading a
book called The Quilter’s Apprentice and I have started reading a book that Pam
gave me. It is Killing Lincoln by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. This evening
we got a call from our daughter Nikki telling us she is coming down to spend a
week with us over Thanks Giving. It gives us something to look forward to and
we are excited that she is coming.

I
got up with a head ache, really tight in the neck and shoulders, not feeling
like doing anything today, plus really tired. Cheri is really tired also, but
got around to go for her pool exercise at 8:30 am this morning. After Cheri
left I thought I would go out and work in the shed but it was too humid out. So
I worked on the kitchen sink faucet as it is supposed to swing from side to
side and you have to use great force to move it. I took it apart, cleaned and
use some WD-40 on it and now it works much better. From there I went to the
master bathroom and worked on the sink stopper. It needed to be adjusted and
cleaned. I took a lot of my tools that I have been using in the house out to
the shed, now we can at least see the top of the kitchen table. When Cheri got
home she gave me a good back and neck rub. Then I took a good hot shower but
sit not feeling that great. We had an early light lunch as it is Norm’s
birthday and Norm, Marlene, Mike, Mary, Cheri, and I are going to Lakeland to
eat at Fred’s. Norm picked us up at 1:00 pm and our first stop was at Harbor
Freight for Mike. Well Mike didn’t buy anything as he could find what he was
looking for. But Norm bought a battery tester and I bought a spool to store the
100 foot cord I inherited with the house. Then it was a stop at Joann Fabrics
for the ladies. Then we headed to Fred’s to eat and celebrate Norm’s birthday.
We got back home a little before 5:00 pm. I headed to the recliner and that was
where I stayed until it was time to go to bed. I really didn’t feel like going
to Lakeland today but when you are with friends it does help and we did have
some good stories and laughs.

It
was a pretty quiet day for us. We picked up Grandma and took her to church with
us. The church service was dedicated to all the first responders and there were
a lot of fire and police personnel at the service. Dean had a very good message
that went along the lines of first responders. After church nine of us went out
for lunch at Bob Evans, the food was good but the waitress didn’t do a very
good job which kind of upset me. She got some orders wrong and when we asked
for some things she didn’t bring them. Well when we got back home we just
crashed for the afternoon as Cheri and I where both pretty tired. Cheri napped
the afternoon away and I tried to watch most of the NASCAR race but still did
some napping.

This
morning I helped Cheri with her material layout for the sewing room window
valance. She has only a small amount of material that she wants to use so we
were trying to figure out different ways to get the best use out of it, we did
come up with a plan. At 10:15 am we headed down to Tampa for the home show. It
has been over eight years since we have been to one; there wasn’t any reason to
go before as we didn’t have a house. We did see a few new things for the most
part we were pretty disappointed and were back home by 1:30 pm. I got the grill
out and grilled steak for a late dinner and some pork chops for the next couple
of days. After dinner Cheri worked on her sewing room valance and I relaxed and
watched the NASCAR race. Cheri got done with the valance about the same time as
the race was over so I helped her put it up and it looks very nice. We watched
TV this evening until about 8:45 pm. Mike picked me up and we did park security
for two hours. We had volunteered to do the security and tonight was our first
time doing it. Jim the guy in charge showed us where the golf cart was and what
we needed to do. So we rode around checking things for a couple of hours. It is
our way of helping out and Mike and I got a chance to spend some time together.

It
was mostly cloudy this forenoon which was a blessing for me as I started early
again this morning working on cleaning the roof of the house. I also cleaned
the leaves off the car port. I took the leave blower up on the roof and was able
to blow the leaves about six feet. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get them
the rest of the way so I went and got three pieces of PCP pipe that I had and
duct taped them together along with another piece to help stiffen them and duct
taped it to the leave blower. Well my MacGyver worked and was able to blow the
leaves within a couple of feet of the rain gutter. When I got done I had
another four bags of leaves. It was 1:30 pm before I was done and ready for my
shower and a late lunch. Cheri did her pool exercise class this morning and then
worked on her valances for the living room. I called in a cable locate for the
28th so I can bury the anchors for the storage shed, don’t want to
be digging through any cables. Around 4:30 pm Cheri had the valances done and I
helped her put them up, they sure look nice. This evening we went over to Baker
Acers so I could water Bud’s lawn and visited with Norm and Marlene and a short
time later Mike and Mary came. Cheri and I were happy as we got two more
projects done and slowly this house is becoming our home.

I
got an early start today before it got really hot out. I was out cleaning the gutters
on the other side of the house a little before 8:00 am. After getting the
gutters done I worked on getting rid of a climbing vine at the front corner of
the house. I had to do a lot of cutting to get rid of it. Then I worked on
getting the root of the vine dug out. I got over come by the heat and had to
quit and get inside for a while. I wasn’t really ready to go back out but the
lawn mowing service was starting to mow our lawn so I had to go out and get the
bags of trash out of the lawn. I got four bags from the gutters and four bags
from the vine. I finally got the roots dug out and had enough outside work for
the day. First thing this morning before Cheri went to the pool she put a coat
of sealer on the sewing cabinet that she painted the flowers on. When she got
home she put another coat on and then started to make the valances for the
living room. By 12:30 pm I was done and ready for a shower. When I got done
Cheri had lunch ready for us. After lunch I sat done to rest when the phone
rang. It was the air conditioning place telling me they were on their way over
to Grandma’s to replace the evaporator coil. So I took my book and headed for
Grandma’s. While I waited I went and started the lawn sprinkler on Bud’s lawn.
It took about three hours to change the evaporator coil. I did get a book that I
started over a month ago read. When I got home Cheri was still working on the
valances and was ready to quit for the day. After supper we were watching TV
when I told Cheri that I wanted some ice cream, so off to Sweet Bay we went to get some ice cream along
with a few other groceries. All in all it was a great day God made for us
today.

I didn’t get going
very early today as I put in a bad night. I got up early enough just couldn’t
get started. By the time I took my shower and got cleaned up it was almost
10:00 am. I did work outside removing the screens from the rain gutters so I could
clean them out. Either they hadn’t been cleaned in years or the screens weren’t
doing their job. The gutters were full of leaves and dirt. When I got done I
had two garbage bags that weighed around 40 pounds each and that was only one
side of the house. It was really hot today and one side was all I could do.
Cheri did more sorting today and is almost done putting everything away. I put
up the Barn quilt and it looks very nice. I will have to take a picture of
where I put it. Cheri came out and pulled weeds out of the flower bed that runs
along the front of the house. I am sure nothing had been done on it this year.
That will be another project to redo. It was near 2:00 pm when I got done and
we still hadn’t had any lunch. First it was time for both of us to have another
shower as we were pretty sweated up from working outside. After a late lunch we
sat down to do some reading and within a few minutes we both were napping.
After about an hour the lighting and thunder came and woke us up. We got a
really hard rain which lasted about an hour. At 5:30 pm we met Mike and Pam at
the new Panera Bread that just opened up for supper. After we eat the four of
us headed to church for our Bible study class, very interesting, about the
house God built. No free pie tonight as we were too tired to go. It was 9:00 pm
when we got home and we went right to bed, did watch a little TV in bed.

When
Cheri got home from the pool she worked all day on painting flowers on one of
her sewing cabinets. It really looks nice I will have to take pictures of it
and the rest of her sewing room. I worked outside putting more things away in
the shed. I also worked on the electric in the sun room. I found a bad ground
fault outlet outside that was causing the problem so I by passed it for now. I
will have to get one next time I go to Lowe’s or Home Depot. I also checked the
rain gutters and had wondered why they ran over. I thought it was the screens
over the gutters to keep the leaves out, but on further inspection I found the
gutters full of dirt and some leaves so I will have to take all the screens off
before I can clean them, a job for another day. I held up Cheri’s barn quilt on
the front of the house to see if she wanted it there. She thought it looked
good so maybe tomorrow I can get that done. I didn’t hear anything from the air
conditioner place so maybe tomorrow the work will get done. I move the bike
barn around and couldn’t find a place for it without losing a lot of room. So I
have decided to sell it and put it on Craigslist this afternoon. I really don’t
need it any longer as the bike is parked under the car port with the cover on
it. They had free pizza at the club
house this evening so we went down and met Mike and Mary there for pizza.
Afterwards the four of us went over to Baker Acers to visit with Norm and
Marlene. I also watered Bud’s lawn while we were there. As you can see it was a
busy day at the Sharp house.

Around
8:30 am I got a call from the air conditioner place telling me that it would
cost around $300.00 to have the new condenser coil installed in Grandma’s air
conditioner and wanted to know if I want them to order one. I was not a happy
camper because when he was here ten days ago I told him to order the coil and
let me know what the installation would be, because Grandma’s house got so hot
in the afternoon it needed to be done right away. So after Cheri got home from
her exercise class we made a trip to the air conditioning place and I had a
talk with the manager. Well she called and the coil will be delivered tomorrow
and if it comes in early enough they will put it in tomorrow or the next day. We
also made a stop at the bank to get our pin numbers for our new debt cards,
plus a couple more stops. We stopped at Subway for lunch and then over to see
how Grandma was doing. This afternoon Cheri continued to work in her sewing
room and by this evening it looks really good. I worked on cutting down a roman
shade for the kitchen as it was too wide for the kitchen window. When we bought
the shade we asked if it could be cut down and were told that it couldn’t be
done. Well I never let a little thing like that stop me from trying. When I got
done it fits and looks really nice. I took back some tools that I had borrowed
from Mike and Mary. Mike was busy working outside cleaning up the bushes and
removing some they don’t want. I did a little computer work and called it a
day.

Grandma
didn’t go to church with us today. There was a guest speaker and she wouldn’t
have a copy of the message so she decided to stay home and watch Hour of Power
on TV. Dr. Al Hensen delivered the message; he is worldwide leader in the
Persecuted Church movement. He has more firsthand experience with the
Persecuted Church than almost any person alive. After hearing his message there
wasn’t a dry eye in the church, a very moving message. We have no idea how
blessed we are to live in a country where we are free to worship God openly
without being persecuted. Please do one thing for me today, check out this web
site www.compassionatehope.org .
After church we left our car at church and went out for lunch with Mike and
Pam. We eat at Bob Evans and once again it was a great meal. After lunch Pam
wanted to go shopping and Cheri agreed that we should go. So off to Lakeland we
went. While Pam and Cheri shopped Mike and I did some walking and visiting. It
was great to get out and away from the house and not think about work. It was
around 3:00 pm when we got home. I watched the NASCAR race that I recorded.
Cheri read the Sunday paper and took a nap, then later she worked in her sewing
room. I did help here do a couple of things but that was all for the day.

Well
we have had our new house for a month now and when I look around we still have
a lot of things to get done, but it already feels like home. Cheri fixed me a
breakfast of eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, sausage gravy, orange juice,
and coffee, all at Golden Corral. After breakfast we headed over to Lowe’s so
Cheri could get some shelf liner for her sewing room cabinets. We also picked
up a container and bags for our recycling. We made a stop at Wal-Mart for a few
things. When we got home Cheri went to work in the sewing room and I worked on
putting my saw horses together. If you have any furniture or projected that need to be put together I am you man as I have had a lot of experience the last month. I was so
tired today that I sat down in the recliner and that was where I stayed the
rest of the afternoon. Cheri finally quit around 3:00 pm. At 5:30 pm we had a meatloaf
supper to go to at the club house. It was being put on by the HOA, it was very
good. After we got done eating we made another trip to Lowe’s as Cheri ran out
of shelf liner.

Cheri
was up at 4:00 am as I was snoring too loud for her to sleep. So when I got up
she had her cabinet painting all done. I had to cut down a shelf that didn’t
fit right and then she did some touch up painting. When Cheri went for her pool
exercise I went out and tried to put a few things away in the shed. I really
didn’t get that much done but every little bit helps. Around noon Fed-X stopped
and delivered Cheri’s sewing table which gave me another puzzle to put
together. At 1:00 pm Norm & Marlene picked us up along with Mike &
Mary. We made a road trip to Lakeland. Our first stop was Harbor Freight, Mike
got a power washer and I got some saw horses, then it was on to Joann Fabrics
for the girls. The next stop was the Spice Thai & Sushi Restaurant which is
right by Hobby Lobby. We have been talking about going there to eat and have heard
good things about it. Well we got there about two minutes before 3:00 pm and a
girl met us at the door and said that they were closed from 3:00 pm until 5:00
pm. So we headed over to Ling’s for Chinese which we all had been to a few
weeks ago. So we still had a good meal. Then it was back to Hobby Lobby for the
girls to shop. We always have a good time on our road trips. When we got home I
worked on getting Cheri’s sewing table put together. Cheri napped as she was
really tired from being up so early.

It
was another busy day in the Sharp’s house. This morning I took apart another
cabinet for Cheri to paint. I had a little material left over from making backs
for the other three cabinets so I made a back for this one. When Cheri got home
from her pool exercise she went right to work painting. In between her painting
she put together a new recipe of potatoes, kielbasa, peppers, onions and lot of
different spices. She put it all in the crock pot, what a nice aroma we had in
the house this afternoon. This afternoon I hung tool bars in the kitchen, moved
the refrigerator out and cleaned behind it and put it back in place and leveled
it up. My main reason for moving it was to get it leveled up and get the vents
cleaned on it. Well I found quite the mess under it. Then I moved on to turning
up the temperature on the hot water heater. It is behind a panel in the closet
of the master bedroom, first I had to remove a lot of clothes to get to the
panel. The next job was putting up the wire mold for the kitchen TV and rearrange
things on the desk, trying to hide all the cords. It took Cheri all day
painting and didn’t get done until around 3:00 pm. I put the freshly painted
cabinet back together and we moved it into the sewing room. Cheri has two more
small cabinets to paint. With all these cabinet I still don’t think she is
going to have room for everything, don’t know where she put everything in the 5th
wheel. Cheri’s supper tasted as good as it smelled all afternoon. We did get a
lot done today and Cheri has one more day of painting cabinets and that will be
done.

This
morning Cheri worked on address changes before she went for her pool exercise
class. After being on the phone for an hour she had enough and didn’t have time
before she went to the pool. She was getting her drug plan address changed and
was told she would have to change plans for Florida. Guess what? Yep it’s going
to cost more. After her pool exercise she was on the phone with them for over
an hour and completely stressed out. I put together the other cabinet we got a
couple of days ago. Cheri already has the other two filled. After lunch I got
another cabinet that Cheri is going to paint ready for her. So she spent most
of the afternoon painting four coats of paint on it. I worked outside putting a
few things back in the shed from our move. The shed door now swings the wrong
way and makes it hard because you have to walk out around the door because it
can’t open all the way as it hits the steps that come into the house. After a
couple of trips into the shed it was time to take the door off and put it on
the other side of the jamb. When they make the doors for the sheds they are
made so they can be used as a right or left hand door. It took me about an hour
and a half to change it. I just finished when Mike and Mary stopped by to get a
couple of recliners that we didn’t want any more, nice recliners but the wrong
color for Cheri. Later Cheri said I think I want to move the new cabinets to a
different wall. I just looked at her and said yes dear. In the process I managed
to step on a dish that broke and cut my foot and before I knew it each step I took
I was leaving blood on the nice white carpet. So we stopped and cleaned the
carpet before finishing the cabinet move. This evening we went over to Baker
Acers so I could get Bud’ lawn mowed and while I was doing that Cheri went up
to see Grandma. After that we stopped by Norm and Marlene’s for a visit. A
little later Mike and Mary showed up to visit. It was another wonderful day that
God blessed us with.

At
8:45 am Cheri headed for the pool here in Sundance for the pool exercise. Mike
and Mary have bought a place here in Sundance and last night was their first
night here. So now the exercise class will be here at Sundance. Mary is doing a
class at 9:00 am on Tuesday and Thursday as there is already a class on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday. I went right to work on one of the storage cabinets we
bought yesterday. I got it all put together except for the back. Then I took
apart another cabinet that was here. Cheri is going to paint it before I put it
back to together. All of these cabinets only have a cardboard back in them. So I
headed off to Lowes and bought some ply wood to make a stronger back for all of
the cabinets. I also stopped by Mike and Mary’s to get Mike’s air nail gun to
install that backs of the cabinets. It was after 3:00 pm before I got done with
the cabinet and set in place. Cheri worked on getting more of our address
chances done. She called the garbage pickup service to have our address changed
in place of the guy that we bought the house from. All they had to do was
change from his name to our name, but still had to pay $25.00 for the lady to
have that done, Thanks again for another Florida perk. We also had a couple of ladies
stop by to welcome us to the park. They gave us some information about the park
and HOA (Home Owners Association). They gave us a couple of tickets for a hamburger
or hot dog meal at 5:00 pm this evening so we decided to go. Cheri called Mary
and she and Mike are also going. After we eat they had their HOA meeting which
we stayed to see what it was all about. I was very impressed with what they do
here in the park and the activities that they provide. So I think Cheri and I are
going to join, it cost $20.00 per year but you get to have a say about what’s
going on. God blessed us with another beautiful day.

It
was a stressful morning as we were working on getting our address changed with
all the different companies. In changing our address on our health insurance we
found another perk from Florida. I our health insurance will be $200.00 more a
month to live here in Florida. Is it because they have better medical benefits or
is it that it’s not a healthy place to live? We both had an appointment with a
new dentist at 11:00 am. They took x-rays and checked our teeth and the dentist
was please to see what good teeth we had. I must say I felt very comfortable
with the new dentist office as everyone was so nice and friendly, not like the
last dentist we went to and had all the problems. We now have appointments for
cleaning in November. So that helped brighten our day after the stressful
morning with address changes. We stopped at Subway for lunch and then to Home
Depot to return a couple of items and to look at storage cabinets for Cheri’s
sewing room. We didn’t find anything there and headed on down towards Tampa to
bigger Home Depot and still didn’t find any storage cabinets but did find the
shade Cheri wanted for the kitchen window and a ceiling fan with a light kit
for the sewing room. Our next stop was Lowe’s which was just a little further
down the road. We found the storage cabinets that Cheri wanted, so we bought
two of them. Then one more stop at Bed Bath and beyond where Cheri got a paper
towel holder. It was after 3:00 pm when we got home. I went to work on taking
down the old ceiling fan in the sewing room and putting up the new one. The fan
and light has a remote to run the fan and dim the light. Cheri fixed supper
around 5:00 pm. We had the left over Gumbo from Harry’s and it was just as good
as it was when we were there. All in all it was a wonderful day that God
provide for us.

We
picked up Grandma at 9:00 am and headed to church. Pastor Dean was on vacation
this week so Pastor Earl who is in charge of the student ministry delivered the
message today. It was on Baptism, the What, Why, and When to be Baptized. It
was very interesting. After church eight of us went to the Chowder House for
lunch which was excellent. It was near 1:00 pm when we got home. I unloaded the
new cabinet we got yesterday for Cheri’s sewing room from the car and laid all
the pieces out on the living room floor. Then I turned on the TV to the NASCAR
race. I watched the race while putting the cabinet together. Cheri ordered a
sewing table from Nancy’s Notions. On the outside of the catalog it said free
shipping so that made it an attractive offer. Well they told her it would be
$45.00 for freight and Cheri said that on the front of the catalog it says free
shipping. The lady said that is right, shipping is free, but you have to pay
for freight. I always thought freight and shipping was one and the same. I
would have told them what they could do with their freight but it is something
Cheri really wants and she doesn’t ask for much. After the race was over we
went to Lowe’s and got the paint for the shed and also paint for the old
cabinets in the sewing room. Then to Wal-Mart to get gas for the van and some
items that Cheri needed along with a few groceries. It was near 7:30 pm when we
got home. We skipped supper but did have an English muffin with peanut butter.

It
was a day that we didn’t have to go anywhere and able to spend the day working
it the house. So we took advantage of it and slept in. It was 6:45 am before I rolled
out of bed and Cheri wasn’t far behind me. Cheri spent the day doing laundry,
working in her sewing room, and finishing the spare bedroom. We moved a
computer desk out of her sewing room into the sun room to be picked up along
with an entertainment center that is going to the auction house on Wednesday. I
did a lot of honey do jobs like putting up towel racks, removing picture hooks,
patching holes, and repaired the closet doors in the spare bedroom. At 2:00 pm
we were both pooped and had enough work for the day. Cheri said that she needs
another cabinet in the sewing room for her material and sewing stuff. So we
headed to IKEA which is down in Tampa. We didn’t find a large cabinet like she
wanted but did find a nice smaller cabinet that was all drawers that she can
use for all her small sewing things. So that was our purchase for the day, oh
yes Cheri also bought some drinking glasses. While we were at IKEA we got a
call from one of Grandma’s friends and she said that there was something wrong
with Grandma’s TV. So on the way home we stopped by to check it out and she had
pushed a wrong button on the remote which put the TV in the video mode, easy
fix. We stopped by Subway for a sub for our supper. We crashed when we got home
and a little later we called it a night.

It
was another busy day. It all started early as Cheri and I both didn’t have the
best night’s sleep. I cleaned up the van some as we now have everything moved.
Cheri had three loads of laundry she started and I put away and throw away
things from the spare bedroom that we didn’t need or wanted. I dropped Cheri off
at the pool a little before 10:00 am and I went up to Grandma’s has I had an
appointment with the air conditioner repairman at 10:00 am. He finally showed
up at 11:15 am. The air conditioner isn’t keeping up late in the afternoon. The
repairman said that everything was working properly but did put in a half pound
of Freon and then checked it for any leaks, fond a leak in the evaporator coil.
So a new coil is on order and he was supposed to call me back with the labor
cost, didn’t get the call today. After the repairman left Grandma took us out
for lunch at IHOP in Dade City. From there we went to get our new Florida driver
license and get Grandma’s van transferred into our name. Cheri had forgotten to
take her social security card and went home to get it while Grandma and I waited
to be called to get my license and the van transferred. We just got done when
Cheri came back. It wasn’t long we were on our way home. We are now officially Floridians.
It was around 3:00 pm when we got home. Cheri worked with her laundry and I put
away a couple more things. It was a very stressful day but then Pam and Mike
picked us up to go out and eat. Pam said that they wanted to go to Lakeland and
eat at Harry’s, her and Mike hadn’t been there before. She knew we were just
there yesterday but that didn’t make any difference to us because it was so
good we were ready to go back. Once again it was great food and Mike and Pam
are ready to go back again. When we got done eating and came out of Harry’s we
could see a car show going on across the park so walked over and looked at the
cars until it started to sprinkle, time to head for the car. We drove down and
around the lake to look at the swans and then home. It was a wonderful way to
end a stressful day.

First
of all I want to wish my wonderful and loving wife a happy birthday. It was a
mixed day of things to do and get done. We started by stripping the spare
bedroom so we could get it cleaned up. I started to change the ceiling fan when
it was time to drop Cheri off at the pool and for me to take Grandma for her
doctor appointment. After I got Grandma home I stopped by Norm and Marlene’s to
wait for Cheri, didn’t have to wait long as Mary, Marlene, and Cheri were
coming up the street. We sat and visited for a while and made plans for the six
of us to go to Lakeland for a late lunch or early dinner at Harry’s Seafood Bar
& Grill. It is famous for its New Orleans style cooking. Norm and Marlene
had to return a new TV that didn’t have any sound, so they are going to meet
Mike, Mary, Cheri and me at 3:30 pm to celebrate Cheri’s birthday. Early
afternoon we went to the auction house to have them come and pick up our old
entertainment center and computer desk put it on their auction next week. We
also stopped to get insurance on the van and motorcycle, both are due within a
few days. Grandma has turned the van over to us as she has decided not to renew
her driver license and we have to have insurance in our name before we can get
van transferred into our names. The motorcycle insurance was due on the 13th
so we got it along with the van insurance. We did find out that insurance is
very expensive in Florida. The motorcycle insurance in South Dakota was $322.00
and the same policy in Florida was going to be over $900.00. We did get it with
the car insurance for just over $400.00. Mike and Mary picked us up at 2:45 pm
and we headed to Lakeland to meet Norm and Marlene at Harry’s. The food was
excellent and I think it was the best meal we have had since we have been in
Florida. We all put it on the top of our list of places to go back to. We got
back home around 5:00 pm and Cheri and I continued working in the spare bedroom.
By 7:00 pm we had everything done except making the bed and hanging some
pictures and whatever else Cheri has planned on doing.

I
had a lot of work that I wanted to get done today. At 6:30 am I was at the 5th
wheel giving it a final washing before taking it to the consignment yard. I was
done with the 5th wheel and back home 9:30 am. Cheri fixed me
breakfast and then I went back to work on waxing and cleaning the truck. Cheri
had a doctor’s appointment for her knee. She is still having problems with it
and looks like it may never be back to 100 percent. By 1:00 pm the truck was
done and so I called the consignment place to see if we could bring the truck
and 5th wheel in. Jason said that they were ready for it so we
headed back to Baker Acers to get the 5th wheel. Cheri and I haven’t
lost our touch hooking up as everything went smoothly. After I got it pulled
out onto the street I took some pictures of it. It took us about an hour to get
all the paper work filled out and showing Brian the maintenance manager how
things worked with the truck and 5th wheel. When we got home I told
Cheri that was going to take a long hot shower and be done for the day. About
the time I was ready to go for my shower Mike came by and asked me if I would
help him get his big tool box out of a storage shed he was renting. An hour
later I was back home and taking my shower. Cheri was fixing a French bread
loaf for supper. I just got done with my shower when we got a call from Larry
and Denise telling us that they are going to Alaska with their motor home,
wanting to know if it was too late in the season to go. They did ask us to go
with them but we are needed here in Florida. Today was a bitter sweet day for
Cheri and me, with the truck and 5th wheel now for sale it closes a
chapter in our lives that we has hoped to do a few more years but we are needed
here to take care of Grandma. So now we can dream about our new house that in
time will become our home.
