Gay July-14-12

We were on the road by 8:15 am. We had 297 mile to go today. The weather was cloudy this morning and didn’t see any sun until near noon. Cheri took several pictures but they will have to wait until another day for me to post them because our internet service here is very slow and probably wouldn’t be able to upload them. So I will do them tomorrow. We are staying in the Wal-Mart parking lot here in Helena, MT. There were several RV’s already here when we came in around 2:30 pm. It is now 6:30 pm and I just went for a walk and there are 14 RV’s here, the most I have ever seen in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Tomorrow we only have 85 miles to travel to Great Falls, MT. Ok you may be wondering where we are going because we told everyone that we were going to the Black Hills in SD when we left Colorado. Well there is a good reason for our change of plans. Last Sunday we received an e-mail from Alaskan Discovery RV Tours. The owner Spike wanted to know if we wanted to be tail gunners for his third tour. We had done his caravan in 2008 and had a great time. Long story short the tail gunners that were supposed to do the third tour could make it. So Cheri and I are heading to Hazelton, BC where the caravan starts and will be tail gunning. Back in 2009 I signed up as an alternate tail gunner if someone couldn’t make it. Being we were already in Colorado it was an easy decision for us. We will be spending a week in Great Falls to take care of all the things that we need to have done before heading into Canada. We have to in Hazelton, BC on Aug 6; we really want to be there a few days early so we can get our tuck and 5th wheel washed. More about the caravan later.
Update I couldn’t get on the internet last night or this morning to post the blog.
