Gay July-2-12

The alarm was set for 4:30 am but we were up at 4:15am the coffee was ready for us. We got dressed and headed into Gunnison for the hot air balloon lift off. We were told that they would be lifting off at 5:30 am. We got into Gunnison around 5:00 am and there wasn’t anyone around the park where the event was going to happen. 5:30 am came and went and still no one was there. So we went to the motel and picked up a paper to make sure we didn’t have the wrong day. The paper said today was the day and the desk clerk said it was in the park where we were. So we headed back to the park and waited. Well around 6:15 am a truck came in with their balloon equipment and started setting up. We went over and talked to them and they told us there would be around 20 balloons going up. The first one didn’t lift off until about 7:00 am (could have slept longer). At 7:30 am the last balloon lifted off for a total of 13 balloons. We have seen balloon rallies before but never get tired of seeing them again; it was well worth the wait. Then it was time to go and find some place for breakfast. We drove down Main Street and found a restaurant where there were a lot of cars so we figured it must be a good place to eat and we were right the food was excellent. After breakfast we search for a solon so Cheri could get her hair cut. The first two we stopped at were all booked up. At the third one Cheri was able to get in at 9:15 am which was only a 40 minute wait. I sat in the truck and read while Cheri got her hair cut. Then it was time to do some shopping down town. After shopping it was time to head back to the campground and get cleaned up. I finally got the return authorization to send back the GPS for repair. So I took the paper work and GPS and headed back to Gunnison on the motorcycle to get it sent off for repair.
