Gay July-29-30

We
were back on the road by 7:10 am. I didn’t get the generator out last night so
it didn’t take long to close up as I didn’t have to unhook the truck so all we
had to do was put the slides in and hit the road. We were just getting to the
mountains and within 30 miles we were deep into the beauty of the Canadian
Rockies. I think they are much prettier then the US Rockies. Cheri took some
great pictures. At one of our stops to see a waterfall a couple from Belgium
started talking to Cheri and asking her questions about our truck and 5th
wheel. They said they never seen a truck and 5th wheel that big.
They said we could never have anything that big in Belgium. We showed them the
inside of the 5th wheel and truck. Afterwards they took our picture
and we took one of them. They are in Canada for a 3 week holiday. We gave them
a business card and told them they could follow our trip to Alaska. They said
they would e-mail us a copy of the picture they took of us. After a very nice
visit, it was time to head on up the road. We made several stops taking
pictures and looking at waterfalls, lakes, glaciers, and mountains. At one of
the stops I notice the cargo carrier that I added to the back of the 5th
wheel was bending down. It was supposed to carry 200 pounds and our generator
only weighs 75 pounds. I guess the bouncing was just too much for it as we were
on some pretty rough roads. So I ended up taking the generator off and putting
it back in the basement. Now I need to find a place to get the cargo carrier
fixed. We are staying at a pull off from the highway about 30 miles east of
Prince George, BC. We got here at 4:30 pm local time as today we picked up
another hour and are now on Pacific Time. I got the generator out and Cheri
fixed a meal of potatoes, green beans and pork chops that I grilled a couple of
days ago. With all our stops to see thing we were still able to put on 404
miles today. We were going to stop in Price George for the night but we were
both tired and not ready to face the city traffic. To see pictures of the day click on this link https://picasaweb.google.com/sharpstravels then click on
